LadyBuzz well done on your stone and category change! You must be living up to your name Smile

Knotty and Karma well done on your losses no matter how small! still doing well.
Knotty enjoy your cake. Thats lovely of your friend. I know how you feel but I'm positive you won't let a bit of cake hold you back from losing weight!
Karma Well done on doing Jillian! Keep going and you'll really see results next week I'm sure.

JAM sorry to hear you're feeling bad about your weight gain. It could be a blip ifyou've been good all week. You don't have much to lose do you? I think its harder to lose those last few lbs. You have to be really zoning it.
How about trying no carbs in the evening? I find that usually boosts weightloss.

iluvcake don't feel too bad about 1lb. It prob is af related but if you're panicking, try cutting out carbs in the evening too. Quick results without too much restriction (as long as you've not been too bad all day!)

I've lost 1.5lbs! hoorah. My panic 1000cal challenge had some effect. I might try doing that for 3 days every week Smile

Hope you all have a good weekend.

fedupofnamechanging · 13/05/2011 16:59

Well done Shaxx

knottyhair · 13/05/2011 17:29

Great result Shaxx Smile! I will enjoy my cake I'm sure, it's just not being in control of my food for the weekend. Well, I'm in control of how much I eat I suppose, just not what we eat! She always does lovely healthy stuff so I'm sure it'll be fine.

Well done shaxx

knotty hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy your cake!

iluvcake · 13/05/2011 20:40

Well done Shaxx!

Karma, I get wobbly when I'm hungry too but that totally went when I cut out sugar.

This afternoon I have had a "wheat free" ham sandwich from M&S, a low fat yoghurt.

At friends house:- lots of carrot sticks, couple of bits of fruit, a weak pimms with (unfortunately) non-diet lemonade (aarrgghh). Got home at 7.45pm due to being stuck in a traffic jam, starving and have eaten a bourbon and a choc chip cake bar. Am so rubbish. DH was out for lunch and doesn't want dinner. Am considering not having any either but I know it's not good to eat like this!

Will try and limit the damage over the weekend at friends but I just know it's going to be a Winefest.

iluvcake · 13/05/2011 20:42

Karma, I should have said when I cut out sugar previously. Obviously, I'm consuming it in stupid amounts ATM. It was a nice feeling not eating crap and feeling healthy and energetic-I want to get back to feeling like that again.

fedupofnamechanging · 13/05/2011 20:48

iluvcake, I've bought some fat free smoothie lollies for when I get the munchies in the evening. They have around 85 calories, but do help with the sugar cravings and are less calorific than biscuits and chocolate bars (which are my evening snack of choice). Could you have some soup or salad, so you are not hungry but also not having too many extra calories?

I miss the good old days of watching a film in the evenings with a giant bar of chocolate. Have drastically reduced the amount of sugar I have now compared to my pre diet days, but would struggle to cut it out completely.

fedupofnamechanging · 13/05/2011 20:49

I tried once before to go completely cold turkey and felt so weak I had to get my dad to drive over to give me emergency penguins Blush

LadyBuzz · 14/05/2011 09:48

karma Grin

iluvcake · 14/05/2011 10:27

Grin at Karma!

Shaxx · 15/05/2011 10:32

Grin at penguins for medicinal purposes.

I've not had a bad weekend foodwise but haven't done any exercise. I've booked myself in for 6.30 spin this evening so I'll hopefully work off any excesses.

Hope you're all having a good and reduced sugar weekend!

LadyBuzz · 15/05/2011 20:15

Not a bad weekend here either, I managed to restrain myself whilst making the buffet and only had 1 plate today, I did have a couple of mini vanilla slices but I have navigated 5 inch heels for 9 hours so that must count towards exercise of some kind Hmm

The christening went off well though and DD was an angel, the DSs behaved too and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, i'm shattered now though!

knottyhair · 16/05/2011 08:12

Morning! Shaxx, hope you enjoyed your spinning class. LadyBuzz, glad the christening went well and well done on no buffet-biffing!
Had a lovely weekend, but my calorie limits definitely went out of the window! My friend had made cupcakes, which the kids decorated for me (lovely, but as a result covered in buttercream icing and silver balls!). I did only have one though. She made chicken & mushroom pie with puff pastry for Sat night dinner Blush, but I did have a smallish piece. Sunday lunch was salmon fishcakes, potatoes & salad, followed by homemade lemon posset. It was lovely and I tried to be sensible portion wise but still.... Then our other friends came last night and I made sausage & bean casserole, garlic bread & salad, and homemade strawberry ice-cream. I didn't have any ice-cream, 1 glass of wine and 1 piece of garlic bread. I tried!!! Back to normal today. Had ryvitas & ham for breakfast, going to do a Level 1 Shred when I get back from school drop off. Soup for lunch, and haven't decided on tea, but I'm craving something spicy so maybe a laksa or something? Have a good day everyone!!

Good morning everyone,

knotty, I think you did very well this weekend, with all the temptation thrown your way.

LadyBuzz, will be thinking of your DH today. Hope he gets good news. Glad the christening went well.

Have been pretty good this weekend. Saturday was my wedding anniversary (12 years) and ordinarily I would celebrate with a lovely, calorific meal in a nice restaurant. However, I am determined to lose weight, so we celebrated at home instead. I even resisted the massive fry up I made for the family for breakfast.

My MIL was away this weekend, so didn't turn up on friday with a suitcase full of chocolate, which also helped.

Took the DC out on Sunday, so was busy and therefore more able to stick to my calorie allowance. Unfortunately it is AF time again, so don't know if I will lose any weight this week. Am sitting here craving crunchies.

Hope you all have a good day

knottyhair · 16/05/2011 09:49

Sorry, LadyBuzz, I am Marvo the Memory Man Blush. Really really hope your DH gets good news today. Karma, you seem like you're firmly in the zone, don't let those crunchies drag you out Grin.

Morning all!

Laybuzz, glad to hear the christening went well. Well done for restraining yourself on the buffet and for walking around in 5 inch heels for 9 hours-I don't think I could manage 9 minutes!

Knotty, I've had a similar weekend to you food-wise! It's hard going to friends. When they make such a effort, it would be mean to say no. My friend had made a beautiful raspberry and chocolate tart and cut me a huuuge slice as she knows I like chocolate-I managed to persuade her DH to have it tho and I had a smaller slice! Well done on only the one cupcake too!

I weighed myself this morning and haven't put on anything but my bikini body plan starts today. I've had porridge this morning. I need to go shopping as I haven't got a lot in. Has anyone heard of/tried the "17 day diet"? It does sound quite sensible-healthy food and lowish carbs for a short time. My friend has just lost 5lbs in 4 days on this. I don't approve of quick weight loss in the long term-but I'm desperate to lose a bit more before we go away.

Have a good day everyoneSmile!

iluvcake · 16/05/2011 09:55

yes, Ladybuzz everything X for your DH-my memory is not the best either!

Karma, keep busy and post on here if you are feeling a crunchie biff coming on! I am going to do the same. My willpower feels stronger today than it's been for a long long time. Let's get to the end of the day without any biffing!

fedupofnamechanging · 16/05/2011 11:52

Well, my son is home from school and is feeling poorly, so I obviously cannot nip out to the shops. DH is away at work and my dad is refusing to drive over to my house with a crunchie. Therefore, I think I will be sticking to my diet today, like it or not Grin

iluvcake · 16/05/2011 11:53

Good ol' dadWink!

LadyBuzz · 16/05/2011 12:02

thanks everyone, he knows 1 has had the call already so that makes him 1 in 3 to stay from 1 in 4, so its looking better!

Now i just have to avoid the christening cake Grin

dinkystinky · 16/05/2011 16:15

Afternoon all - Karma sorry DS is ill but well done on resisting Crunchies and christening cake. Sounds like you had a lovely weekend!

Have had a bifftastic 4 days - offsite on Thursday night, eating through hangover on Friday and then parents and MIL down over the weekend so its back into the zone with me today. I'm off to the US for a wedding end of next week so will have to be hitting the gym hard till then to make sure I fit into the dress I want to wear!

fedupofnamechanging · 16/05/2011 16:31

My dad caved and brought me round a crunchie Grin.

It is haunting me from the fridge, so I am having chicken and veg stir fry (400 cals) so I can eat it and not go over.

I luv my dad Smile

knottyhair · 16/05/2011 16:44

Karma, what a lovely dad! And good on you for planning it in to your allowance Smile. Hope your DS is better. Dinky, whereabouts in the US are you off to?
