Nothing Tastes As Good As Slim Feels Part 3

knottyhair · 24/04/2011 07:31

Hope it's OK that I've started this new thread, but the old one is now full! Not sure if my entry went on the old one, but anyhoo - let's keep going people! Here's to eating tasty healthy food, finding and sticking with exercise we enjoy and getting fitter, stronger & hopefully slimmer! xx

Morning! JAM, I agree, one biscuit blowout shouldn't do too much damage, and you did Shred! Hope you're feeling better as well. BelleEnd, Jesus, you'd have to be a saint to cope with that social calendar and not step outside the zone. And your "angry cleaning" must've helped Grin! Still not feeling 100% here, definitely feel worse when I get up, nearly gagging doing DP and DS's packed lunches. Just had a piece of toast & tea and feel a bit more human. Honestly if I didn't know better I'd think I was up the duff. But help me here ladies, it isn't possible, right? Sorry if this is TMI but AF was visiting for most of last week in Devon. The only "action" we've had was on Sunday lunchtime and I started feeling weird about 2 hours afterwards. I don't think it could work that quickly!!! Tell me I'm being extremely stupid even to entertain the thought...

OP posts:
BelleEnd · 20/07/2011 08:44

Well, I'd say it was possible knotty- Isn't ovulation usually about ten days after 1st day of AF? The symptoms coming so quickly are unlikely, but you do hear of these things happening. Ooooh I want to know now. :o

BTW- Get you doing it at lunchtime! :o

dinkystinky · 20/07/2011 08:52

Knotty - it probably is just a bug - ovulations doesnt normally happen that fast. You're probably feeling abit poorly as it isnt out of your system yet - go back to bland food again and lots of fluids and hopefully you'll flush the last of it out.

thedogwalker · 20/07/2011 13:24

Knotty Probably just a bug, go back to the bland food and lots and lots of water, yuk, but hey if its works and gets you back to feeling normal.... Grin

Wow Belle can I borrow some of your social life, I don't have one lol, DH in Germany and always too knackered by time I get home from work. All I do is cook for me, DS and au pair, clean and then bed Hmm. Mind you did consider joining WI, if I did go, would that count as social life Hmm

Belle my DH away, but I know exactly what you mean by what they leave behind, everytime he comes home for the weekend I end up cleaning up after him, it's like I've got 2 kids and I tell him that Grin.

Looks like I'm going to go over my food allowance today, or I could get off my large backside and do some exercise?????? MFP is too addictive.

Hope everyone is having a good day. Take care xx

knottyhair · 20/07/2011 13:53

Thanks everyone! Knew I was being ridiculous! Just slightly paranoid that I seem to feel better as the day goes on. But I'm still on the white bread/fish finger/biscuit diet although tonight I'm pushing the boat out and going for Quorn sausages! I know how to live.

Go on, *TDW, you'll feel better if you do a bit of exercise. Wish I could, I miss Jillian, sob...

thedogwalker · 20/07/2011 21:34

Well I did it, after my miserable attempt at the shred the other week and only managing the first circuit of level 1 before my knee started hurting, I decided to finally unwrap the Davina Body Buff DVD that I've had since January Blush. I did the warm up, which I thought had far too much stretching in it, so I did more cardio than the dvd. I then did the 30 min cardio work out, which is not as hard as level 1 shred, but I managed it without straining my knee, yipee. Only once did I have to change the exercise, they were doing side lunges, which hurt my knee so I did squats instead. So I am a happy bunny tonight. Will see how my knee fares in the morning. Hope everyone is well. ta ta x

knottyhair · 20/07/2011 21:55

That's great TDW! As I said on MFP, I'm writing today off as a Tuc biscuit-riddled disaster Grin. Onwards & upwards!

OP posts:
thedogwalker · 21/07/2011 08:37

Knotty hope you have a better day today, Gilian needs you Grin.

Well my knee feels good today, so I might even try and do some more tonight, might try the boxercise bit of the dvd Hmm.

I really, really want to get out running, that was always my main exercise before DS and I have signed up for a 10 mile charity run at the end of October, not bad since I've only done 2 runs in the last 20 months with being preggers and then injuring my knee. But everytime I try running it buggers up my knee so I'm going to be patient and keep up the strength training and hopefully I will get fit enough in time to do the training Hmm
Hope everyone is in the zone and Dinky hope you're not working too hard.
BIG SHOUT out to Thinbride, where are you? Hope you are okay Smile.

knottyhair · 21/07/2011 09:15

Morning! Thanks TDW, a bit better today - managed my first coffee since Sunday! Not up to Jillian though Sad. Might try a Davina tomorrow as she's a bit easier! Good on you for signing up for the run. Am determined to have a better day food-wise today - it helps that I finally feel like I can stomach some fruit other than bananas, and our fruit box this week has cherries, blueberries, raspberries & peaches in - yum! Joining you on the shout out to Thinbride , let us know how you're getting on! Have a good one everybody x

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 21/07/2011 10:31

Well done TDW. Knotty - hope you feel better soon. Your fruit box sounds lovely. Work still busy but not insane - just another week or so to go till am on 2 weeks' holiday. Hurrah!
Thinbride has been v quiet of late hasnt she. Hope she's in the zone and still getting WW support.

BelleEnd · 21/07/2011 22:18

Lovely day out with my boys. We went round the charity shops and played as we walked- The high street was the jungle from the film Up, and I was the old man with the zimmerframe (DS2's buggy) :o

As far as eating goes, I have three words for you:
Greggs
Chocolate
McDonalds

Aaaaaah crap. Will have a saintly day tomorrow, and then it's a weekend away...

knottyhair · 22/07/2011 08:19

Morning! Dinky, glad work is not quite as bad; bet you can't wait for your holiday! Where are you off to? BelleEnd, sounds like a lovely day. Off anywhere exciting this weekend?

Still not up to any exercise - aaargh, it's driving me mad! Fingers crossed I'll be back to normal in a few days. However, despite going over my allowance on several days and not doing any exercise other than walking to Waitrose Grin, I've managed to lose 1.75lbs. Sometimes I think there really is no rhyme or reason to this weight loss lark! Had a poached egg on toast for breakfast, vegetable soup for lunch. Was supposed to be making a veggie moussaka for dinner but at the moment I don't think I can face a tomatoey sauce - so might have to rethink that plan. Good luck everyone!

OP posts:
BelleEnd · 22/07/2011 08:26

knotty, I think that when you're ill you body uses up a lot of energy just fighting whatever germs are in you, so you do tend to lose weight. Congrats on the 1.75 loss. :)

We're meant to be off to Cardiff first thing tomorrow morning, but DS1 has the runs in a horrible way, and DS2 has a cold and caugh, so I'm not sure. They'd be gutted if we didn't- Cardiff is one of the nicest cities in the UK imo- But I can't take them to share their germs at a christening...

dinkystinky · 22/07/2011 09:54

Ah BelleEnd - that day out sounds lovely. Oh dear re the food though [frin]

Off to Wales for a week Knotty - then to grandparents in Brighton and Nottinghamshire the following week. Well done on your loss. Havent WI today - was out drinking last night and in at 1.30 - couldnt face the scales this morning!! Could you do something like veggie risotto instead?

Shaxx · 22/07/2011 09:54

Morning everyone. I've put on 0.4lbs! I'm not even going to input that on mfp.

TDW thats great news about your knees. Davina's dvds are really good. I started off on them before I shredded then started running. I am happiest running though I could no way do a 10km run! Good luck! I admire you for entering that.

Dinky where are you off to on hols? Bet you can't wait!

Belle your poor ds1 and ds2. Hope they get better soon.

Knotty well done on your loss. Sorry you're still feeling a bit sick. Thats quite a long time for a tummy bug. Hope it sorts out soon. Unless its because you're...Grin. Just kidding (I think!)

Well some exciting news (I can't really tell anyone in rl so I'll have to blabber away here). Me and dh have decided to maybe try for a third baby. Not quite yet but after September we'll seriously consider it. I really, really want to lose some more weight first as I can't bear the thought of putting another 2 stone on on top of the extra 1.5 stone I have. So I'm gonna have to up my efforts Smile

dinkystinky · 22/07/2011 10:00

Wow Shaxx - that is exciting news. And gives you a great goal for your weight loss efforts Grin

knottyhair · 22/07/2011 10:06

BelleEnd, we went to Cardiff in November for the first time (have friends in Barry) - we loved it as well, as did DS, a major Dr Who fan! Hope your DCs get better soon. Dinky, where abouts in Wales are you going? And Brighton is lovely as well! Good idea about the risotto, definitely thinking of something rice-based. Shaxx, ooh, how exciting! As Dinky says, it's extra motivation for you as well.

OP posts:
BelleEnd · 22/07/2011 10:08

Oh Shaxx! That is fantastic! We really want a 3rd DC but not sure whether it's the sensible thing to do re. money and DH's age (he's 50 this year!) But that is really very exciting for you. Good luck!

Dinky, where in Wales are you off to?

Shaxx · 22/07/2011 10:29

Thanks everyone Smile
I come from a big family (5 of us) where there's always something going on so 2 seems a bit quiet for me.
I've wanted 3 for ages but dh (an only child) hasn't been convinced and he's only recently come round to the idea (without much prompting from me) so I'm thrilled.
I love the idea of 3 dc but I don't rate pregnancy, birth and the first 6 months much but I guess its part of the deal Smile

Anyway I'll shut up now Grin

Belle my friend had her first (of 2) at 40 and her husband was 50! Age doesn't make a difference these days as long as the biology is there.

Dinky we went to Pembrokeshire last year and Snowdonia a couple of years ago and had a brilliant time. I love Wales. We're hoping to go to Brighton for a weekend during the summer holidays.

Hope you all have a good day.

dinkystinky · 22/07/2011 10:48

Off to the Wye Valley in Wales (apparently fairly near Abergavenny) with some friends and their kids. DS1 v excited and DS2 will be excited when he gets to pack his trunki next week.

knottyhair · 22/07/2011 10:53

Ooh Abergavenny is really nice Dinky. Have a great time!

OP posts:
BelleEnd · 22/07/2011 11:08

That's what I think with the age thing Shaxx- And I am only 28, so I (hopefully) have plenty of potential childbearing years to come! I just don't want to get to a stage where it's too late and regret it. But you managed to persuade your DH, so there is hope... :)

Abergavenney is lovely Dinky, though obviously the midwest is better. You see, if you came here, we could meet up. In McDonalds. We could go to Greggs for pudding. :o

thedogwalker · 22/07/2011 11:51

Well done on the loss Knotty.

Dinky check you out, staying out so late on a school night Grin

Shaxx that's great news. Thats the reason why I'm losing trying to lose weight, I want to be fit and healthy before trying again. DH and I going to start ttc in September too, so that he can go to Afghanistan in Novemeber and come back again in May and I will be due. Didn't want to have LO whilst DH was away, otherwise I would be preggers already Grin.

Im a sts this week, but after having a week away last week in Anglessey, and my Mum's 75th I didn't WI last week, so I'm happy with a sts. However, since joining mfp, I have changed my goal, so originally I had 3lbs to lose to goal, now that is 8lbs.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

LadyBuzz · 22/07/2011 12:20

awww shaxx thats great news 3 DC are just great Grin

justaminute · 22/07/2011 16:05

Wow lots of exciting news to catch up on this afternoon. This thread might become an ante natal one with Shaxx, TDW, poss Belle and poss Knotty Wink.
I've lost one pound which has amazed me given that AF has arrived which explains my binge eating this week. As Knotty says there is just no rhyme nor reason to this weight loss malarky. However I'm claiming it as I fear I may comfort eat myself to oblivion this weekend as I have been advised that my job is under threat Sad. grrr to new boss.
