Hope it's OK that I've started this new thread, but the old one is now full! Not sure if my entry went on the old one, but anyhoo - let's keep going people! Here's to eating tasty healthy food, finding and sticking with exercise we enjoy and getting fitter, stronger & hopefully slimmer! xx

Well done to Belle, LadyBuzz, Knotty and Shaxx. What a week for losses.

JAM don't despair honey, it will all come good in the end and damn Sainsburys for offering those biscuits at a ridiculous price Grin

I'm in total agreement with Lady about this thread, Every time in the past when I've hit a wall and not lost I've always gone off the rails for weeks at a time, and so techinically yo yo dieting. But I'm much more relaxed and calm with coming on here, it helps me to see the bigger picture, plus the hints and tips on stuff is great.

Big shout out to Thinbride, where are you????? Hope all is well.

Well I'm 2lbs off this week, so I'm back to 9 st 10 lbs, exactly where I was when I first moved back to the UK in Apr (just happened to put weight on with the move and my absence from here Blush). So now 3 lbs from target, not sure if I can do it, not been anywhere near this kind of weight since my late 20s Hmm, can my body go that low again Hmm, I'm hoping so.

Off work for a week visiting family, and I've got my Mum's 75th surprise birthday bash on Sunday, I know I will just eat whatever, so I'd best start doing lots of cleaning now like Belle to work off the calories in advance Grin. Hope everyone has a brill weekend. Take care xx

BelleEnd · 08/07/2011 19:12

Am having a day off. Of mahoosive proportions. But I don't feel bad about it, because I know I'll get back on the wagon tomorrow, and I feel I deserve tacos, magners and home-made cake Shock :o

thedogwalker · 08/07/2011 20:05

Oh magners, I'm stuck in the house on my own, the baby is in bed, so I can't even pop to the shop but I could so do with a magners right now, not fair. Hope you enjoy yours Belle

dinkystinky · 08/07/2011 21:51

evening all - another super manic busy day at work today so first chance to log in now. Well done losers and JAM - keep the faith my friend. Your loss will come. Enjoy your night out the zone Belle -I'm having a day out the zone too myself. And my weigh in today - 10.04lbs so still inching towards my goal. Grr. Hey ho. Have a lovely week off TDW and hope your mum's surprise bash goes well.

iluvcake · 08/07/2011 21:53

Belle-enjoy your magnum!! Well done along with Ladybuzz, Knotty and Shaxx! Knotty, love the sound of that Bridal workout-made me smile-cheesy but in a good way!

I'm a STS this week. Am back to eating crap againSad. Hip and pelvis has flared up again and am not exercising anything like I was. Tried the bootcamp class this morning but found it hard to keep up and it felt like my pelvic area was all "loose". Saw physio this afternoon who has said not to do anything for two weeks exercise wiseSadSad. When I don't exercise, I just want to eat loads of crap carbs. Feel as if I've taken a few steps backwards since I joined the thread.

JAM, I feel your pain. Have done the same many, many times. Bought a packet of mini twix yesterday (celebration size) just because I thought "Oh, they're new!" and thought DS would like a few. I ate all but two myself. We just need to stay away from the biscuit and sweet aisle. I just can't have them in the house. They are just like a drug. I eat and eat and eat till they're gone!

DS broke up for the Summer today so I know I'm going to find it hard. I SO SO want to lose at least 7lbs by 6th August.

Have a good weekend all! Hope you enjoy the hen do (and don't eat too much garlic bread!)

knottyhair · 09/07/2011 06:18

Morning! Just wanted to pop in and say have a good week everyone! We're off to Devon in a couple of hours. I'm going to try to do Jillian (so to speak) most mornings but have a few treats as well. We're eating out most of the time so god knows what I'll weigh when I come back but hey ho! Those of you with parties, enjoy, and those of you with injuries, take care. Hope you all have a happy, healthy week xx

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 09/07/2011 10:47

I stopped away from the garlic bread Grin
but not the alcohol, I have a horrid hangover so guess today will be a write off. On the upside though I danced and danced last night so that must have burned a few calories Grin my legs and feet are killing me today and I stayed out til 3am (get me Grin)

knotty enjoy your hols!

thedogwalker · 09/07/2011 14:23

Respect Ladybuzz the only reason I'm up a 3 nowadays is when the baby is ill and crying, well done you for not touching the evil garlic bread, you did right to stay away from the stuff. Hope your hangover goes away soon.

Have a great time away Knotty all that devon clotted cream, yum yum.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend [hgrin]

BelleEnd · 10/07/2011 08:06

I didn't manage to get back into the zone as planned yesterday- Had various lovely sweet things and 2 g and ts in the beer garden! But it was a lovely day and I enjoyed myself. Am planning two

justaminute · 11/07/2011 18:07

hello it's quiet on here. I hope that means you are all trapped in the zone. Sorry to hear that you are suffering with injury iluv. we are so similar, it is comforting to know that I'm not the only one who can't stop at "just the one".

I'm going to really try to keep the biffing to a minimum this week. MFP has shown me how quickly the calories mount up. I was way over my calorie allowance this weekend and I confess that I didn't log everything as I was too ashamed Blush . I sort of used food focus before but I can't have recorded everything (or the calorie allowance for foods was lower Smile. MFP seems to have more foods on it and seems much easier to use. What I begrudgingly like about MFP is that once you've logged your food total for the day it says "in 5 weeks you will be x pounds" That is focussing my mind much more then saying "you have lost a miniscule point zero zero x of a pound today" like food focus does.

Belle - I hope you haven't fainted. I nosied at your food diary yesterday, how on earth did you survive?! I know you want to keep some calories in reserve for your fun/busy week but don't get ill doing it. - Apologies for sounding school ma'amish just worried about you.

LadyBuzz · 11/07/2011 21:26

JAM i used FF before too and also prefer MFP.

I didn't log anything from Friday lunchtime until this morning Blush far far too much hangover biffing on Saturday and BBQ on sunday Blush

Still back on track today and 60 mins of pilates too. so back in the zone for me!

Where has everyone gone..........??

BelleEnd · 11/07/2011 22:31

Thanks for your concern JAM- I was Shock at how few calories I had yesterday, because I felt really full.
Today, on the other hand...
Tomorrow is the school fete. I am The One That Always Bakes. My speciality are muffins, and today I have done three varieties- Lemon curd, Chocolate with Nutella frosting, and most spectacularly, Peanut Butter and White chocolate.
There has been biffing. I can't find "dregs of peanut buttercream frosting" or "sad looking tiny muffin unsuitable for sale" on MFP so I'm going to guess the calories and log it.
Am thinking of making a little sign for the cake stall: "Warning: Edible glitter on cake frosting may result in shiny shit." :o

iluvcake · 11/07/2011 22:52

Grin at Bellend with shiny shit glitter muffins.....! They sound delicioso...

Another crap day for me. Don't even ask. First day of the hols for DS and I set the bar rather high by taking him and a friend to Legoland. We ended up in that famous "Scottish" Restaurant on the way home. It's not my favourite place, I could easily give it a miss but was starving so had 3 chicken dippers thingys (the big ones!). Also had bread today and ice cream and cake.....Blush

Becoming bit despondent about losing anything for my hols but ever hopeful. Am going to have a look at MFP but am not that good with calories as I find some of the foods I eat very high in calories eg avocado. I prefer the good fat/banish bad carbs/banish sugar combo works better for me (when I can stick to it..Hmm..)

BelleEnd · 12/07/2011 09:50

Iluvcake I was for ages trying to figure out what the Scottish restaurant was. I think it was the word 'restaurant' that put me off the trail. I am actually impressed that you only had chicken dippers- I would have had a large big mac meal, and possibly a McFlurry...
There are carb counts on MFP too, it's great. :)
Sooooo I am going to try really very hard to be good today. It's the school bbq and I think if I have a salad for lunch, I can have one burger. I have two christenings coming up these next two weekends, and I have to fit into the Bree van de kamp dress I got yesterday! Tis a size 14, but it was a bit big on the waist- a 12 wouldn't do up on my boobs (That is a lie- A 12 wouldn't do up over my padded bra) Blush

iluvcake · 12/07/2011 22:23

Grin Bellend! I love McFlurrys-I only really like the sweet things in McD but I couldn't eat a McFlurry driving the car and the DCs would have wanted one too-and they'd had enough crap that day...

Hope you enjoyed the BBQ! Thanks for the tip on MFP. What's your dress like??

BelleEnd · 12/07/2011 22:44

It's a bit fifties, sleeveless with a high neck and a big skirt. Flower print. Was in Matalan for £9 Shock.

BBQ was good, and I not only managed to eat only one cake today, but the bbq people were good enough to give me a burger which was pink on the inside so I couldn't eat it. Hmm :o Have loads of leftover cake though, and another bakeathon tomorrow, so we shall se how it goes...

Shaxx · 13/07/2011 11:04

Hi everyone.
I've had a manic few days. Work has been really busy and I've had some domestic stuff to deal with. Anyway, hopefully things are looking better so I can focus on the healthy eating again.
I haven't actually eaten much over the past few days and am pleased to say that where previously I've grabbed biscuits and crisps, I've been grabbing apples and yoghurts!

Belle your muffuns sound wonderful. Especially the shiny shitty ones Grin
Your dress sounds lovely. Bet you look good in it. What are you baking today? I want to do some baking today.

iluv don't feel down about the holiday weight loss thing. Try to get back in the zone and do what works for you. Really try to stick to it.

I've banished high salt food from my diet after a friend told me that salt can give people cravings for sugar to try to balance the body out (don't know if theres any science behind that or not) and its working really well for me. I've stopped eating cheese, crisps, marmite and bread mostly. I've also reduced my carbs. I've not cut them out and have picked at cake etc and I actually feel more in control of what I'm eating.

Today's food
yoghurt
quorn sausages, veg
dahl, rice
fruit for snacks

Shaxx · 14/07/2011 19:58

Come back everyone. It feels weird talking to myself.

justaminute · 14/07/2011 20:31

Hi Shaxx. I'm here. I have a new boss so have to do work instead of mumsnetting, it's just not fair . I have a bit of a summer cold which has put me off food although sadly not off chocolate. Having said that I'm pretty much sticking to my calorie allowance although I did log 30 minutes of dragging the kids home from school as exercise today so that I could be within my allowance.

I'll try and sneak on tomorrow for WI natter.

Belle Grin at the shiny shit cup cakes

dinkystinky · 14/07/2011 23:12

Hello - quickly checking in - work has been INSANE (still at work now) all week so no chance to see how you are all are. Hope all are well and in the zone. I'm not - stupid hours and v little sleep plus no exercise = a biffing dinky. Ho hum. Back into the zone with me from Monday when things hopefully calm down a bit. Managed to bunk off at 9.30 yesterday though to go see Blondie at Somerset House for a couple of hours which was AWESOME - Debbie Harry is SO in the zone and awesome for a woman of 66! Have been singing ato-MIC all day. Bugger, work calls again. Back on Monday (with any luck)...

Guitargirl · 15/07/2011 07:17

Hi everyone, have been on holiday for weeks, just got back 2 days ago and have put on half a stone...grrrr...not surprising though as I have pretty much eaten and drank whatever I want. Back in the zone from today. DD starts a new school in September and I do NOT want to be the fat mummy at the school gate Blush.

LadyBuzz · 15/07/2011 08:24

busy one here too, DD is like a limpet at the moment and will just not let go but won't sit still either which makes it hard to mumsnet do the housework!

1lb off here today no great surprise after the alcohol binge on friday and hangover munchies sat, plus no gym this week which i think makes a huge difference.

Still a loss is a loss so i'm happy.

Wedding tonight, i can see a few low calories days coming up this week Smile

guitargirl holidays are special, hope you had a great time.

Shaxx · 15/07/2011 09:21

JAM boo to your new boss. Hope you feel better soon.

Ladybuzz well done. 1lb is good loss. Especially with some bingeing going on. Don't knock it Smile

Dinky its hard when work gets manic. Sounds like you had a great morning break! Somerset House is brill.

Guitargirl sounds like you had a lovely holiday. Where did you go? Don't forget - if you put it on quickly, you can lose it quickly.

I've lost 1.5lbs this week. I'm thrilled with that as its also totm and usually I would have eaten loads over the last couple of days but I've not really done that this time.

Hope everyone has a good day.

dinkystinky · 15/07/2011 11:18

Sorry Shaxx - it was an evening break from work (though appreciate that when I said I bunked off you'd think it'd be during normal working hours). GG - hope you had a fab holiday. Well done losers. I havent even bothered weighing in this week as it is a total write off as far as zoning is concerned.

Shaxx · 15/07/2011 11:32

Lol I did think 9.30am was a bit early for a gig but stranger things have happened. Makes more sense :)
I think somerset house are going to show outdoor movies. I may be wrong but would love that! Will check it out.

Today is a day that I am ignoring the chaos around me and am just on the net! Although I am dealing with laundry.
