Hope it's OK that I've started this new thread, but the old one is now full! Not sure if my entry went on the old one, but anyhoo - let's keep going people! Here's to eating tasty healthy food, finding and sticking with exercise we enjoy and getting fitter, stronger & hopefully slimmer! xx

Dammit just lost a long post. grr.
I can't write it all again! [goes off to sulk]

Shaxx · 06/07/2011 19:02

Ladybuzz that sounds like an excellent and worthwhile job! Enjoy your take away!

Knotty ?? you've gone mad Grin (I've no idea about inbetweeners!)

TDW glad physio is working. Stay in the zone!

JAM you sound like you're in the zone too! Keep going.

I love the apprentice too and have strawberries on standby (anyone got any pledge fo my halo? Grin)
I can't believe some of those candidates.

I thought it only fair I put up a photo on mfp as I now know what you gorgeous girls look like. I have to admit that thats a photo taken just before I got pregnant! I want it to inspire me to lose weight.

thedogwalker · 06/07/2011 20:37

Wow we are all apprentic junkies, me too Grin but thankfully no DH this week, as he always makes up lots of cheese and biscuits and other nibbles to eat whilst watching. When I'm alone I don't nibble.

I managed the afternoon without being naughty. I had some nuts, I always carry with me 30 g of nuts just in case I get hungry and they always do the trick, plus I love nuts (not as much as cheese), but they do fulfil the satisfaction category. So I am now enjoying a large Wine, best treat ever Grin

Who is going to get the sack tonight me wonders Hmm

BelleEnd · 06/07/2011 22:07

Shaxx- Phwoooooooar! :) Have to ask, what were you watching in that photo? Football? Rugby? Mud wrestling?

Somehow I managed today with about 12 calories to spare- Don't know how after the breakfast binge. Bloody cereal. I love it.

Just Right cereal, 2 pieces of toast with peanut butter
2 choc snack a jacks
ham salad
tuna salad with jacket potato
3 crackerbreads

Hope you all had a good day!

justaminute · 06/07/2011 22:33

Looking lovely Shaxx . Grin
Pesky kids needed putting to bed and pesky dh was in late so no shred but I did win at netball. Yay!
Just watered the hanging baskets and tomatoes, caught up with you guys and now to tackle the ironing mountain whilst watching the Apprentice on catch up. phew!

Shaxx · 06/07/2011 23:09

Ah thanks Smile
We were in Dallas watching the Dallas Cowboys. Can't imagine mud wrestling filling out a stadium that big lol.
Its a mad sport. Dh is a huge fan and we've seen them about 3 times and I still don't get the game Confused
I love Texas though. We have friends there so go every now and then.

Well done TDW and Belle for a diet success day and yay! for JAM and netball win Smile
Enjoy ironing. I'm off to bed with my book.

LadyBuzz · 07/07/2011 08:13

looking good shaxx!

My indian was lovely and i ordered a slightly hotter one so i wouldn't be tempted to eat all of the sauce!

Please please please someone tell me where to get choc snack a jacks?? I have looked and looked and have only seen caramel ones Sad

Shaxx · 07/07/2011 09:35

Ladybuzz glad you enjoyed your food. Thats a good idea about ordering a hotter dish so you don't eat it all.
I got my choc snack a jacks from Tesco or Sainsburys. Can't remember which one. I do remember not having many though because the kids and dh scoffed them!

JAM do you have salt/sugar cycle cravings? Just wondering as you seem to have similar issues as me. I was moaning about my lack of weight loss with a friend and she asked me if I do the saltthen sugar then salt etc craving thing. I was shocked to realise that I do.

I'm going to try a low carb day today.

apple, grapes, yoghurt
chickpea salad
chicken veg

knottyhair · 07/07/2011 10:29

Morning! JAM, my weights are just normal hand ones - 3kg is more than enough me at the mo! Well done on winning at netball, and all power to you for ironing at that time of night! LadyBuzz, glad you enjoyed your Indian. Ordering a hotter one wouldn't work for me though, I'm too much of a chilli junkie . Shaxx, er..... WOW! How great do you look Smile! And good luck with the low-carbing. TDW, hope you enjoyed your wine. BelleEnd, well done on staying within your allowance, I took it right to the wire yesterday, damn PMT nibbles.

Well, I'm afraid I strayed from the Jillian path this morning. Have a slightly niggly knee again, so I tried a workout from my new discovery, www.exercisetv.tv . I'd watched a couple yesterday whilst ironing Grin and there was a Bridal Body Burn (no I'm not betrothed!) which looked OK so I gave it a go as the cardio bits didn't look too bad for knees. It was alright actually, half an hour and a nice mix of cardio & strength. The cardio was a bit wimpy but suited me today. Just had to put up with the trainer repeating "think wedding dress, think BIKINI!!" several times in a strong Aussie accent. Nice for a change though. Had cereal & skimmed milk for breakfast, lentil & chilli soup for lunch and I'm using up bits from the fridge & garden for tea before we go away (eating out tomorrow night), so it's some sort of chicken/broad bean/pea/creme fraiche/rice combo. Have a nice day, and can I just say, Melody, don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out!

OP posts:
Shaxx · 07/07/2011 13:39

Thanks knotty though I don't look like that at the moment! Its amazing how having kids can take it out of you. I never used to look my age but I think I do now. Obviously the weight doesn't help.

Lol at tv trainer yelling at you to think of your wedding dress and bikini Grin

This low carbing (well not proper low carbing as I'm having pulses and fruit) is going well for me so far in that I've had absolutely no cravings or compulsion to eat junk today. I hope it lasts as I'm doing it to try to kick my cravings. I just need to remember to drink lots of water too.

Hope everyone's having a good day.

LadyBuzz · 07/07/2011 15:55

knotty my hotter one was a dhansak Blush Grin

Gym tonight for me, after bolognese (again) then out tomorrow night for friends hen doo, Italian restaraunt so i must investigate the low cal options and not stuff myslef with Garlic bread.

shaxx sounds like you are having a succesful day, well done you!

dinkystinky · 07/07/2011 16:00

Ugh work has gone insanely busy again so first chance of the day to drop in. Did make pilates and bodycombat today and eating not too bad (porridge and yoghurt, rice and mushroom salad and soup and some cherries and dried apple slices for snack). Will be working from home this evening so not too sure what will go for - maybe a tricolore salad if I remember to pick up some half fat mozzarella on the way home.

Enjoy the gym and hen do Ladybuzz! And congratulations on your job!

Lol at you doing your bridal training Knotty -maybe you can get thinbride and guitargirl to join you Grin TDW - glad the knee is feeling better.

Have to admit I've never watched the apprentice Blush I cant watch any reality tv stuff (big brother, xfactor etc) as the people are just so awful on it and it really depresses me.

May need to join MFP too just so I can check all these photos out...

BelleEnd · 07/07/2011 16:10

Shaxx The weight just dropped off me with low carb, it was so bloody easy, and no cravings at all. Unfortunately it did make my ulcer flare up so I can't do it... But it's one of the best things for quick weightloss, imo.
Unlike you, I think I look a lot older when I'm slimmer... It's one of the downsides. I am only 28 but I am always mistaken for older (but that may also be because DH is a lot older than me), but my wrinkles seem to get deeper as I have less weight on my face.

Lovely friend is having her birthday at the weekend, and I took a cake round there. She then made me a ham sandwich with crisps and cut me a wedge of the lovely choc fudge cake... So I am going to have to stick with salad tonight if I'm going to be under 1200. I have been walking though, and am going to do an hour of cleaning now to try and give a bit of a push before the weigh-in tomorrow.

Do you all use the extra calories burned with exercise, or do you just stick under 1200?

knottyhair · 07/07/2011 16:41

Shaxx, sounds like you're doing really well Smile. Ladybuzz, I don't think Italian is too bad for low cal options, as long as you have something tomato based and a smallish portion of pasta, or grilled meat & salad or something? Not sure what you like... Dinky, sorry your work has gone crazy again, and very impressive to have a day like that and still fit in 2 lots of exercise! In my defence, I only watch the Apprentice, can't handle any of the others! And yes, come and join MFP!! BelleEnd, hope you enjoyed your cake and I wouldn't worry too much about it, it's hard when people would be offended if you said no. I think I probably do use up most of the calories for exercise, but I only log my workouts, I don't bother with the cleaning/walking etc. , only because I can't really be bothered! And then if I'm slightly under, all well & good!

OP posts:
Shaxx · 07/07/2011 18:47

Belle I think the extra weight just makes me look frumpy so older. I'm 5'2" so don't carry any extra weight very well! I can't imagine doing proper no carb but having lots of yoghurt, pulses, vegetables and fruit should hopefully be healthy and not give me any health issues.
I also only log exercise cals and try not to use them so I have a deficit for a treat meal on the weekend. Well thats the theory Hmm

Ladybuzz enjoy the hen night. I love Italian food but do end up eating quite high calorie stuff as its so delicious. Especially tiramisu! I'm going out for Thai for a girls night out tomorrow and have already decided to have prawn satay, thai beef salad and green tea and if I really, really need dessert I'll have a bit of ice cream but I'm going to try not too.
It's just hard if everyone else decides to have dessert but I think they won't as 2 others are on a diet and one never lets a wayward snack or treat pass her lips (she's a size 6!)

Dinky sorry to hear your works gone mad again. Well done for eating healthy and working out. I'd live on Itsu in your circumstances Grin
Have you tried their salmon and rice meal with coriander sauce? Its amazing. Too much for lunch but I've often bought it on the way home to have for dinner.

Knotty The Apprentice is the only reality tv show I watch too. I hate all the others. Though I've seen a few of the X Factor ones before they choose the contestants as some of them are totally mad. I'd rather watch something good like True Blood.

I've just had my dinner and still no cravings! So far so good.

Shaxx · 07/07/2011 19:04

Dinky yes join mfp! Its actually really nice to know what everyone looks like. It feels like we're proper friends now Grin

knottyhair · 07/07/2011 19:15

Shaxx, definitely with you on True Blood Grin! And your Thai food sounds lovely!

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 07/07/2011 21:20

shaxx snap I am also a short arse and every little pound shows.

I'm a sucker for the desserts aswell.

I have to say ladies this thread has been such a great help to me, i would probably have thrown in the towel by now but its great that other people are going through the same ups and downs and have such fantastic advice!

BelleEnd · 07/07/2011 21:31

Weeeeeell I have managed under 1200 cals, which is a bit of a surprise to myself! Have managed to stay within cals every day for about a week now, and really feel that counting cals and MFP is working well for me as I can have treats. Agree with Shaxx that it's lovely to have people on this thread on there, really very good support. :)

3 crispbreads (my new favourite thing!)
Ham sandwich with a few onion ring crisps
Piece of chocolate fudge cake
Quinoa salad with ham and a few baked new pots.

Went for a walk, and cleaned for 1.5 hours too... I never clean usually, but I've noticed that you can list it as exercise on MFP and now my home is gleaming... :o

justaminute · 07/07/2011 23:13

Well done folks. Not such good news here but it could have been much worse. When will I learn that things are only a bargain if you intended to buy them in the first place. When will I also learn that I can't do " I'll just have one as a treat". My local Sainsbury's had orange chocolate Leibniz biscuits for sale at 43 pence. I think you can all guess what happened....

BelleEnd · 08/07/2011 07:35

Yay! 11st this morning! That means I lost the 2lb I put on last week, and I wanted to be back at 11st by the time my sister comes next week... Now all I have to do is have a well-behaved weekend...
Hope you all have a good day.

LadyBuzz · 08/07/2011 08:02

Well done belleend
1 1/2 off here. i'm really pleased with that.
I also want to be 11 st next week in time fro the wedding i'm going to!
Only 2lb to get there!

Good luck to everyone still to weigh in

knottyhair · 08/07/2011 08:16

Morning! BelleEnd and LadyBuzz, great results Smile !! I've lost 1.25lb, pleased with that, as it means I've lost a total of 2 stones since I started this at the end of January. 4lbs to my target.... Although I fear a few lbs may reappear after a week in Devon, but I'm prepared for that. Poached egg on toast for breakfast, pea & ham soup for lunch and then we've got the Community BBQ at DS's school this evening but I'll try not to go sausage mad. No Jillian today as I've got to get the 4 of us packed up for tomorrow morning (that's me, DP, DS and Jillian Grin ). And goodness, Jillian is very demanding as to what she wants to take - I mean, how many jars of Nutella can 1 woman eat in a week??? Good luck to those still to weigh in x

OP posts:
Shaxx · 08/07/2011 09:49

well done everyone!
I've lost 1.5lbs! I'm happy with that.

Sorry just popping in for weigh in. Off to friends for coffee (no biscuits!)

Have a good day everyone.

justaminute · 08/07/2011 10:00

I?m afraid I?m going to bring the mood down. 1lb on here, no surprise after the weekend and I?m not quite back in the zone yet.
