Hope it's OK that I've started this new thread, but the old one is now full! Not sure if my entry went on the old one, but anyhoo - let's keep going people! Here's to eating tasty healthy food, finding and sticking with exercise we enjoy and getting fitter, stronger & hopefully slimmer! xx

Hi folks. Well I had a lovely non zoning time at the wedding but was brought back to earth with an almighty bump yesterday morning. Dh and I were in a pottery chatting to the owner about the weather (typical British convo) I commented that it was a bit too warm for me and the cheeky mare said ?Well, you are pregnant!? Angry Blush

So, the zoning begins in earnest today. I?m going to try and follow Rosemary Conley as I?ve had success with her in the past although having said that I?m shattered today (I just can?t do late nights) which isn?t a good start. Breakfast has already been grabbed on the run ? a packet of marmite rice cakes and half a punnet of raspberries. Intending to shred & netball later, maybe a run too.

Dinky ? I looked on Amazon for your Matt Robert?s suggestion. He has an ?I will make you fit fast? book but some of the reviews indicate that I will need a team of nannies and cooks to take care of real life for me. I might see if I can order it from the library.

I have been using food focus but I think I?ve subconsciously only been recording the good days. If I get a chance I?ll take a look at myfitnesspal. Am I right in thinking that I can link you guys as friends and then you can nag me if you see that I?ve been bad / not recording?

dinkystinky · 04/07/2011 10:24

JAM - dont take it personally! She probably thought your mahooosive boobs were pregnancy induced Wink Good luck with Rosemary Conley. Didnt realise that about the Matt Robert's book - his Bodydoctor book was much more achievable but didnt have the diet thrown in - definitely worth borrowing it from the library.

Knotty - hen do was great fun. Sister had lots of fun and a good day which was the main thing!

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 04/07/2011 10:28

Belle and Knotty - well done for staying in the zone.

Justaminute - its awfull when someone says that to you! A couple of years ago i was asked in front of DD class by one of the dads "oh i can see your expecting another little one, when are you due?" i was beyond mortified and actually had a little cry outside. Then a few weeks later someone from dp work asked that same, cue major dieting! Nothing like it to kick you up the bum.

I have not quite been in the zone but not quite all out.

Yesterday we went to the beach and i got sandwiches from sainsburys for everyone but i didnt like the low cal offerings they had so ended up with nothing, but as i had no breakie i ended up eating dp crisps at the beach as i was starving (next time i will either take from home or just eat a full fat sandwich and class as a treat).

I also ate 3 roast pots at work and had a small dark chocolate bar.

Need to get my bum in gear and shred as i need to tone up..... dont want to be a flabby bride.

justaminute · 04/07/2011 10:44

Dinky ? if only that were true, sadly no structural supporting underwear was being worn. (Disclaimer - I was wearing undies ? just not the massive boob creating variety Smile) Dh said it was because I was wearing a tunic top but he also said he wouldn?t mind if I considered having a tummy tuck Shock if I was really upset about it.

dinkystinky · 04/07/2011 11:09

Ah JAM - I have a dress that - the two times I wore it - people mistook me as being pregnant (which really upset me at the time!).

Thinbride - how the running going? If you are running make sure after it you do the following:

  • 2 sets of 10 press ups
  • 2 sets of 20 stomach crunches
  • plank for 30 seconds x2
  • 2 sets of 10 tricep dips
  • 2 sets of 20 squats
  • 2 sets of 15 lunges (each side)

and you WILL see results...

knottyhair · 04/07/2011 12:43

Thinbride, come on, you can do it! Try to plan some really nice healthy meals to keep you on track. Are you able to fit in any exercise? JAM, oh that feels horrible when someone says something like that, but I bet it was your top more than anything else. I used to wear a black top that was loose from the boobs down, and tied under the boobs, and a few people thought it was a maternity top. I know when I used to be worried about my big belly, I always wore loose tops which actually made it worse, rather than a wrap top, or something a bit more fitted. And I'm sure your DH was trying to say the right thing even if he didn't quite manage it Grin.

Well I think I've started using MFP, instead of my other tracker wotsit. I thought as a few of you are using it, I'd like to join you! I don't know anyone's user name though. I'm on there as "lucasmum" if anyone wants to add me as a friend!

OP posts:
justaminute · 04/07/2011 13:02

Knotty / Lucasmum I think I've found you. I've joined up too. I'm on as "justaminute" highly original. I'm meant to be working and now dashing to get ds, I hope to have more of a play with it later.

thedogwalker · 04/07/2011 13:05

Shaxx well done on the family gathering, you did great, much better than I would have done.

Knotty the prawn and chorizo rice sounds delish....bbc good food by any chance [hoping I can get recipe emoticon]

Dinky you were also good after family do and with a hangover, that is the time that I always go out of the zone, when suffering, I just eat lots of sugar based things in the hope that it will get rid of the hangover, so you are an inspirarion with the trout salad.

Jam OMG, did you not punch her??????

Not really been in the zone this weekend, had a few treats here and there and crap food, due to driving 8 1/2 hours to take my mum home and then feeling sorry for myself that my Mum was no longer living with me. Nutty I know but I really enjoyed having her around and now I miss her.

Hope everyone is having a good day xx

Belle do you wanna come round mine and do some cleaning Grin

knottyhair · 04/07/2011 13:17

JAM, think I've got you! TDW, sorry you're missing your mum Sad. Hope you feel happier soon. The recipe is here if you would like it - very easy and quick - bit of a favourite in this house when we're in a rush. Must admit I change it slightly. I find if I dry fry the chorizo in a non-stick pan, then take it out, I can use that oil to do the onion & garlic in. I cook the rice whilst I do this, then chuck the onion/garlic/chorizo/peas/prawns in the rice 5 mins before it's cooked.

OP posts:
BelleEnd · 04/07/2011 13:36

JAM That always happens when I lose a bit of weight, because the stomach is the last to go for me, so it's just that you must be skinny all over and perhaps a bit bloated after a carby meal or fizzy pop. Don't despair.
Re. The tummy tuck, I have loads of loose skin now, especially bingo wings, and on my boobs and stomach. I think I'd be a size smaller if it wasn't for those, but I would never ever ever go under the knife.

thinbride I have found the solution for picnics- Make a salad for yourself but also some walkers's baked crisps and a low-fat sweet treat (Those bags of special k things are bloody gorgeous!)

TDW Hope you feel better about your Mum. I don't think it's nutty of you to feel like that. Mums are special! She must be really lovely that you miss her so much... Mine was the same, it is a very sacred and wonderful thing to have a nice Mam. :)

Added knotty and JAM on MFP. Have been Envy at knotty's photo. Please feel free at my exercise logs- "Cleaning- Light moderate effort" and "walking with pushchair" feature heavily :o

BelleEnd · 04/07/2011 13:37

That sounds awful. I'm not saying that I'm not Envy at JAM's photo... It's just 'cause she hasn't got one...

knottyhair · 04/07/2011 13:48

I'd just like to say that photo was carefully selected and that pose is especially flattering to my arms. I could've put a much less flattering one on taken on my birthday meal out with girlfriends where I look A LOT heavier and like I have bells palsy due to wine consumption.

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 04/07/2011 13:52

Ah Knotty - I'm pretty sure there are some photos circulating from the hen do where I definitely look like that Grin

Having an itsu tuna/salmon salad for lunch after bodycombat and have discovered yoghurt covered rice cakes which are delicious (at only 80 cals a pop too!) My new favourite treat food!

BelleEnd · 04/07/2011 18:08

OK, now I can see JAM's photo on MFP. I mean, my good Lord above. Is everyone a size ten on this thread, apart from me?

knottyhair · 04/07/2011 18:27

JAM, just seen your photo as well! You look fabulous! And BelleEnd, I'm only a freaky size 10 in Next I think - in every other shop, I'm a 12, and that certainly wasn't the case a couple of months ago. Come on, get your picture on there!

OP posts:
BelleEnd · 04/07/2011 18:32

Weeeeeell, I have been looking for a photo... But the only nice ones of me are of when I was 2st heavier! And away wit ya with this "Next size 10" nonsense... You a clearly thin!

Shall look for a photo now...

knottyhair · 04/07/2011 18:34

Right, I've stuck another photo on MFP now which was taken May 2009. I can't find a more recent "fat" photo - I seem to have avoided the camera rather well, at least from the neck down!

OP posts:
justaminute · 04/07/2011 18:37

Ha ha. I was just about to announce that I've VERY carefully selected a photo for MFP and you've already unearthed me. I assure you the jeans are a size 14 and I'm standing at just the right angle so you can't see the baby belly. MFP is very addictive I'm meant to be shredding now - bit counterproductive me thinks.

BelleEnd · 04/07/2011 19:32

knotty The photo of you before looks as if you're trying to hide behind your bag and under baggy clothes! You're pretty in both photos, but you look far more smiley in the recent one. :)

Kept under 1000 cals today- I have 9 days 'til my sister comes to stay and I want feel as nice as poss- She is lovely, but I've always felt like the fat one. I reckon we'll be around the same size now, for the first time ever! Shock

Salad with 2 quorn sausages and 2 ryvitas
chinese prawn stir fry with noodles
2 chocolate snack-a-jacks.

thedogwalker · 04/07/2011 21:55

Thanks for the well wishes and thanks Knotty for the recipe.

I am going to have to get a decent mobile and then I can join MFP I want to look at all these photos, if nothing else Grin

Belle Bet you feel great that you're now the same size as your sister, well done girl and hats off to you for eating less than 1000 calories, I couldn't do it.

Just tried to do level 1 shred and failed miserably Blush, managed the warm up, not hard really and then the first lot of strength, but half way through the cardio my knee gave way, so it's not as mended as I had hoped. Now it is throbbing, dull ache type feeling. Shall see how it feels tomorrow, just getting so frustrated at not doing much.

Hope everyone is having a better evening than me, ta ta for now.

justaminute · 04/07/2011 23:58

Excuse me Belle I've just seen your photo on MFP - I think it's a case of pot calling the kettle black - you look lovely and slim. TDW I have a brick of a phone so I'm accessing MFP via the internet which is probably just as well as it is quite addictive. I'm going to do my best to write everything down and log it as and when I get a chance.

Played netball, failed to shred( i blame MFP) and went for a 30 minute run/ walk. Bit cross that I couldn't manage to run for all of it I guess I have left it too long since the last outing .

Had some cheese and biscuits when I got in from netball & run and now feel too awake to sleep, grr.

thedogwalker · 05/07/2011 09:13

Morning all

knee feels fine this morning, maybe I was worrying over nothing, jsut don't want to compeltely knacker it like last time.

Mmmm JAM my favourite snack, we eat alot of cheese in my household, I try to steer clear whilst DH away as I know it is impossible when he's around.

Hope everyone has a good day Smile

knottyhair · 05/07/2011 10:08

Morning! BelleEnd, is that photo really you?? I don't mean that in any way other than it looks like some sort of glam 70's singer-songwriter! If it is you, you look amazing and have nothing to worry about on the weight front, blimey! And well done on reaching the same size as your sister Smile! TDW, my mobile is ancient, I just access MFP online. Glad your knee is better today but go easy. And totally with you on the cheese front, I could easily eat a whole block of strong cheddar, or roquefort, or camembert, or.....AAAGH!

JAM, I think netball and a 30 min run/walk is pretty good!

I've just done L2 6W6P - easily the hardest Jillian routine IMHO. It's already 26 degrees here and I am sweating like the proverbial swine. Meals today are cereal & skimmed milk for breakfast, lentil & chilli soup for lunch and Cook Yourself Thin's chicken & prawn egg-fried rice for dinner. Have PMT nibbly munchies (as anyone who cares to look at my food diary for yesterday can see), but managed to stay in my limit yesterday despite that. When it comes to food I'm definitely little & often (very often Blush ) Hope everyone has a good day! xx

OP posts:
BelleEnd · 05/07/2011 11:06

ROFL @ 70s singer/songwriter... I am going to change my name to Carole King... :o It's a very flattering pic, most of them showed my spare tyre beautifully...

I am with knotty TDW and JAM on cheese, I could eat it all day, and I'm always shocked anew at the fat content of it. I have cut it out almost entirely now, but when I slice the cheese for DH's packed lunch, I actually sniff it... Blush

Glad your knee is better TDW, please take it easy today! I have only done the shred once Blush I've decided that cleaning is a more constructive use of those 20 minutes! (Excuses, excuses, I know...)

dinkystinky · 05/07/2011 11:27

You see, I love cheese. I'd much rather have a small bit of cheese with some fruit or a biscuit than crisps or biscuits (or even yoghurt coered ricecakes)...

TDW - definitely take it easy on your knee. I've said it before and I'll say it again, shred is not good on your joints as is very high impact - if you're easing back into exercise I wouldnt do shred, I'd do a Davina dvd and do the low impact versions of the cardio exercise (like stepping out star jumps etc) just to check your knee is ok with it. Then over time gradually ramp it back up. You'll still get a good work out as you're doing weights and upper body/whole body exercise.

Knotty -we had the cookyourself thin turkey tacos last week - definitely recommend them!
