Hope it's OK that I've started this new thread, but the old one is now full! Not sure if my entry went on the old one, but anyhoo - let's keep going people! Here's to eating tasty healthy food, finding and sticking with exercise we enjoy and getting fitter, stronger & hopefully slimmer! xx

Painting is good exercise too JAM - all that lifting and stretching etc. ITs just not cardio exercise but it is something else for your body to do. DH is taking me for afternoon tea one Sunday afternoon - without kids! - and to go look around an art gallery. Cant' wait.

knottyhair · 28/06/2011 13:06

Afternoon tea sounds wonderful Dinky ! And I'm going to have a go at Jillian's muffins (oo-er) on Friday. You shall all be MINE, MINE I TELL YOU!

Hello ladies! Am still alive, and have basically been mainlining sugar for the past five days. Shock It's been flapjacks, kitkats, crisps and more bread than you can possibly imagine. And I have used my bad cold as an excuse, as if saturated fat had been on prescription. NO MORE! Tomorrow will be a

Shaxx · 28/06/2011 22:27

Happy anniverasry Mr & Mrs Dinky! Hope you have a great day.

Belle Myfitnesspal is telling me you have not logged on for 3 days! tut tut get ye back to logging.

Jam did you run?

Knotty that breakfast sounds really good. bad luck about your knee. Hope its better soon.

I had a day similar to yesterday and again resisted all the goodies at work. I felt no guilt about it either. Sometimes in those circumstances, you feel like you're being a bit anti social but I realised no one cares really. They're just happy scoffing the freebies for themselves Grin

Off to bed as I am knackered. I hardly slept last night due to heat and then over hearing a couple having a blazing row about 1, joy riders or nutters in a car around 2 and some house alarm going off at 4.50. Grr.

Shaxx · 28/06/2011 22:29

Sorry Dinky, shouldve read hope you had a great day! Although of course, there's some of the day left for celebrating.... Wink Grin

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 29/06/2011 07:35

Happy anniversary Mr & Mrs Dinky! Afternoon tea sounds fab.

Knotty - sorry to hear about your bad knee, hopefully after a bit of rest you will see an improvement (hats off to you though for still doing exercise as i would of wimped off)

Justaminute - i decorated my dd's room a month or so ago so i feel your pain! And it is good arm exercise with all the rollering the paint on.

Just been on a run this morning and my shin splints thing has returned but i just need to run through it to make it better (according to the doc the last time).

Popped on the scales this morning and i appear to have gained a 2lb!! So either the weekend has caught up with me or last weeks massive drop was just because i weighed heavy after loads of fod the night before.

Having a fruit salad for breakfast as have bought cherrys, and 2 different melons.

Ham salad sandwich and cup a soup for lunch and spag bol for dinner.

LadyBuzz · 29/06/2011 07:57

Eugh 2 poorly DCs here, Nothing like 2 puking kids and 5 loads of bedding to put you off your food Grin just hoping the baby doesn't get it too, its gonna be a loooong day!

I'm finding my fitness pal really easy to use, i like it didn't quite manage a 1000 calorie day but i did stick within my limit so i'm happy with that.

The weather looks lovely here today and i'm stuck in the house typical!

knottyhair · 29/06/2011 08:25

Shaxx, hope you had a better night's sleep. Thinbride, well done on doing a run already, and hope the shin splints improve with time. LadyBuzz, oh no! Hope your DCs get better soon and that you & the baby stay lurgy free.
Knee seems better this morning. Did Level 1 Shred (with weights in the cardio bits) earlier this morning as I'm walking into town straight from the school run. Got to take back DP's new shorts as he appears to have lost inches from his waist! Just had toast with the goats cheese/fat free yoghurt combo, but have run out of raspberries; still nice though. Going to treat myself to a healthy Pret something or other in town for lunch and we've got tuna & tomato rice for tea. Have a good one xx

dinkystinky · 29/06/2011 08:58

Oh no LadyBuzz - hope your kids get better soon and you DH and the baby avoid the bug!

Glad your knee is better Knotty - sounds like you're inspiring your DP to lose weight too Grin

Thinbride - into the zone with you. Check out your trainers if you're getting shin splints - it may be that you're not wearing the right ones to give you the kind of support you need. I'd be careful about running through it as the last thing you want to do is injure yourself and be a hobbling bride on your big day! Fruit salad sounds good - I LOVE cherries.

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes - had a lovely day and yummy dinner last night (including some saki and a mojito). Back into the zone with me today though...

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 29/06/2011 09:01

Ladybuzz - sorry your little ones are poorly and your house bound, hope you and the baby manage to avoid the bug.

Knotty - i love goats cheese but is it low fat or not? i would love it if was as that goats cheese and raspberry combo sounds delish!

justaminute · 29/06/2011 09:25

Oh dear Ladybuzz. Middle of the night puking is the worst. At least the weather is nice to dry all that bedding. It makes me realise I am old when I think ?ooh weather?s nice for washing?.

Shaxx well done on your resolve I think you will beat me with the one pound challenge. No run or decorating for me last night. I did shred though. Maybe I?ll go for a run tonight but I?ve washed my hair today and for once it?s turned out OK so I don?t fancy doing it again tomorrow ? feeble excuse. Food was not too bad yesterday. Bit of a blow out yesterday pm involving mini rolls and chocolate animals but I recovered with a lovely roasted butternut squash for dinner ? still feeling full now.

knottyhair · 29/06/2011 12:40

Dinky, I don't think it's inspiration from me, I think it's the fact that DP's doing manual labour in this weather! Thinbride, I don't know if the goat's cheese is considered "low fat" but cheddar has 32g fat per 100g and the goat's cheese has 13.5, so it's certainly "lower". You only need a bit for the recipe as well. It's one slice of wholemeal toast, you mix up half an oz soft goat's cheese (about 2 tsp) with 1.5 tsp fat-free greek yoghurt and a pinch of ground black pepper, spread that on the toast, top with a few raspberries and drizzle with half a tsp honey. 132 cals.

Hope things are getting better at your house, LadyBuzz.

Just cathcing up on the messages, as I''ve been mainc at work these past few days.

Well done Shaxx on ignoring the biscuits and other naughty foods yesterday, consider your back well patted Smile

Knotty how's your knee today, hope its getting better.

Wow Dinky you squeeze all that in and go out for an anniversary meal, you are truly amazing, putting me to shame as I always think there are not enough hours in the day but obviously there are. Sounds you're going to have a lovely weekend too, sooo jealous, DH away next week when it's our 2nd.

Well I've been beasted today by the army physical traning instructors as part of my rehab Hmm. I feel much better for it, just hoping my knee doesn't start hurting later. Its certainly stronger after doing the exercises the physio gave me, I just need to boost the strength bit, which these hourly sessions are suposed to improve. Well here's hoping and I'll be back doing the shred in no time, not sure if that is a good or bad thing Hmm

Hope everyone is having a good day, take care x

Shaxx · 29/06/2011 14:49

Ladybuzz sorry to hear about your unwell kids. Fingers crossed the baby doesn't get it.

Knotty glad your knee is better. I love pret. What did you get?

JAM I dunno about winning the 1lb challenge! I'm going to my mums tomorrow. Seeing as there's no school, I thought I'd take the kids there for the day. I'm meeting other family too as all the kids are off so good excuse to have a get together. I know that'll mean tonnes of food. My mum will cook and everyone else will turn up with cakes and desserts. Plus I've done no exercise this week.

Dinky glad you had a good time and enjoyed some noce food and drink. I'm sure you'll be zoning in no time.

Thinbride I'm not sure if it applies to you but I find that the weekends always catch up with me. This is why my weightloss keeps stalling. I find I can have maybe one blow out meal but thats it. If I treat the whole weekend off, I either sts or gain. You may need to get stricter over the weekends.

TDW Aw Happy anniversary to you and Mr! Its sad you're apart. Whan will you see him next? Glad you're feeling better.

I resisted more goodies at work! It was someones birthday so there were lots of cakes. I'm finding it really easy to resist crap at work but I can't seem to do it elsewhere! Whay is that?? I'm so worried I'm going to undo all my good work by eating loads at my mums tomorrow.
I need some dealing tactics and a huge, big shot of willpower.

thedogwalker · 29/06/2011 15:19

Shaxx I wouldn't even try to abstain as that would make me miserable, don't know if you would feel the same. Why not look at what is there and then only pick maybe 1 or 2 of them and then keep the portions small. Talk lots inbetween each mouthful so that it takes you longer to eat and really savour the food whilst it is in the mouth, hopefully that will make the food last even longer and you will really appreciate what you are eating. Apart from that, I've no other words of wisdom, but I'm sure the wise Dinky will have loads of great advice Grin oh that reminds me, drink lots of water.

BelleEnd · 29/06/2011 18:26

I am BACK in the zone! :)

You see, this is where being in this thread makes a difference. I know that I can always come back after having a few days (ahem) off.

Good day today.

salad with 2 quorn sausages
salad with 2 quorn sausages and 2 ryvita-like-things from morrissons.

Hope the little ones are okay LadyBuzz.

dinkystinky · 29/06/2011 18:34

Shaxx - TDW beat me to it, but drink lots of water! Will stop you biffing out on the wrong food and boredom nibbling. When you do decide to eat, be sensible - have a plate full of food you want to eat, reasonable portions, but no more - and remember mindful eating! And treat yourself to a small slice of cake or something and enjoy your time there. Or volunteer yourself to play boisterous games with the kids to burn off some calories...

Glad to hear you're feeling better BelleEnd. So sorry you'll be apart from DH on your anniversary TDW - at least you'll have DS with you to celebrate Wink

LadyBuzz · 29/06/2011 19:08

thanks ladies the DSs are fine, in fact if i hadn't had the aftermath to deal with I wouldn't have believed the little shits darlings had even been ill!
DD seems ok so far so fingers crossed it stays like that.

shaxx enjoy your day tomorrow, you can do it!

TDW happy anniversary to you and Mr TDW.

Early night for me I think I can't cope with these 5AM starts, still no school tomorrow so hopefully I might get a small lie in .

knottyhair · 30/06/2011 08:15

TDW, how's your knee this morning? Shaxx, I went for the crayfish chilli wrap - v.nice. Good luck at your mum's today - good advice from TDW and Dinky. BelleEnd, good to have you back in the zone! LadyBuzz, hope your household stayed well overnight! And maybe you got your small lie in??
Have Shredded early this morning as I was up at 5.30 to see DP off to Goodwood for the day - he's very excited, and had to be there early for "champagne breakfast". He rarely gets to do anything that's just for him so I hope he has a good day. So I did L3 at 7am, but my knees both felt a bit dodgy, so I had to customise it a bit and leave out all the plyometric stuff Sad. Still it's out of the way! Having Ryvitas & ham for breakfast, soup for lunch and not sure about tea yet, depends what time DP gets home but there is talk of a lamb shish takeaway Grin! Think they're fairly healthy? Have a good one xx

justaminute · 30/06/2011 10:03

Aww Shaxx you sound down. Wise words from dinky and TDW. I know what you mean about being able to resist at certain times & not at others. I've realised that for me, resisting too much leads to a blow out in private so do allow yourself a small portion of something that you consider naughty and savour it.

As i'm not going to have lost half a stone this month I can't treat myself to a new wedding outfit so I have dug out an old faithful and went shopping yesterday for a new bra. For a laugh I tried on an M&S wonderbra which claims to give you an extra 2 cup sizes. OMG! it has more padding than my current sorryful boobs but it definitely does the job, it is like an instant boob job Grin. My A/B cup is transformed to Jordan like proportions Grin.

If I do say so myself I look & feel fab, the bra gives me a lovely hour glass figure.I may be a stone heavier than I want to be but the amazing powers of lingerie engineering have done the trick.

dinkystinky · 30/06/2011 10:20

Hurrah for good underwear JAM!

justaminute · 30/06/2011 10:50

Hurrah indeed. I?ll be wearing the suck it all in knickers too! Poor dh, the illusion will be shattered when I get undressed.

knottyhair · 30/06/2011 11:07

JAM, glad you feel so fab, you can't beat a good bra! And I'm sure your DH won't worry about that! Mind you, don't they say that they're called Wonderbras because when you take it off, you wonder where your boobs have gone Grin. Wish I had that problem. I have to spend a fortune on good bras in my size, would love to go and buy the pretty ones. Saying that, I think I need re-measuring as my sports bra is looking rather baggy of cup.

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 30/06/2011 11:18

knotty me too, its crap and the more weight i lose the stranger my size seems to get.

JAM hurrah here too, glad you feel good!

DS1 is still not well bless him but my lovely lovely friend has taken DS2 to the park so I can mumsnet get the house sorted Grin

thedogwalker · 30/06/2011 12:39

Lol JAM at the wonderbra, I might have to go and have a look at them myself Hmm. Having bf the LO my boobs are still a D cup but they are very saggy Confused and maybe a bit of a push up will do the trick???

Glad you feel great and DH won't mind a bit, he will love having his gorgeous, attractive, confident and happy wife by his side, most men find happiness and confidence a far better turn on than stick thin women. So enjoy yourself Wink Wink

Well after the beasting session yesterday I expected my knee to play up but it hasn't so it is defo on the mend, maybe in a copule of weeks I can start running and shredding again, yipppeeee.
