Hope it's OK that I've started this new thread, but the old one is now full! Not sure if my entry went on the old one, but anyhoo - let's keep going people! Here's to eating tasty healthy food, finding and sticking with exercise we enjoy and getting fitter, stronger & hopefully slimmer! xx

Morning! iluv, that's a pretty good result after lunches AND dinner out, AND cupcakes! Pretty sure I'd be the size of a house after a week like that. Give Jillian a go and you won't regret it (well, you might but only temporarily IYKWIM Grin ). Just a word of warning, when I did BFBM all the way through I thought I would spontaneously combust and had to pause the DVD and go outside a couple of times. I only do 4 circuits at a time now Blush. But seeing as you manage a bootcamp, you'll probably be fine! Watch your hip though - hope it improves soon. Sorry you've been feeling low. How's DS settling in at school now? TDW, woohoo!! Bet you felt fantastic!

Feeling more positive today but having a day off Jillian (have done 5 days on the trot and feel a bit achy!). Got DS's school fete this afternoon and then back to a friend's for her DD's birthday. May treat myself to a glass of Cava! Had poached egg on toast for breakfast, bean soup for lunch and either leftovers from the freezer or maybe a "healthy" takeaway for tea, depends how we feel when we get in from the party. Hope you're all ready for the hottest day of the year tomorrow! Must do Jillian early.....

Shaxx · 25/06/2011 11:32

TDW wow you must be thrilled getting into a 10 suit! well done.

I did my 5km run this am. It was a struggle today as I went out last night and didn't get back til 1am! I've also had a headache for 2 days now. Can't seem to shift it.

banana, yoghurt, 1 toast
left over thai chicken curry that I made yesterday but didn't have any as I went out.
not sure about dinner yet but am going to do low carb dinners for the week.

iluvcake · 25/06/2011 11:34

Thanks the TDW and Knotty! Well done on your size 10 jacket TDW-I bet you are over the moon. You have worked hard-well done!

I'm still being crap with food. Have just eaten a load of carbs this morning. My head was saying "have porridge!!!!!!!!!!" but the little carb monster on my shoulder was shouting "Cheerios and toast!".

Out tonight with friends for a thai meal-aaarrrgggghhhh!

I'm seriously panicking about the Summer. I feel really chunky.

Thanks for asking about DS. He seems to be doing ok and making friends. I had a meeting with his teacher last week and she said she thought the class he was in were a bit strange and cliquey and that she's had to have words with them about including DS. He's only got 2 weeks left of the term and the classes will be mixed up for Y3 so fingers X for a good mix of kids.

Have a good weekend everyone!

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 25/06/2011 11:36

Ok im v jealous of all these size 10 people, well done as you can see im very green eyed!

Shaxx - im glad you had the energy to run this morning after getting in at 2am, that is dedication. I was going to run but it was tipping it down so stayed in bed.

I had 2 slices of toast and banana for breakie
possibly another feta salad for lunch
Fajhitas for dinner with salad.

knottyhair · 25/06/2011 12:18

Shaxx, wow, a 5km run is an achievement in itself, let alone after a 1am bedtime . Hope your headache gets better soon. iluv, glad your DS is making friends and hopefully there'll be a better mix in Year 3. Thinbride, your tea sounds nice but I'm afraid that word makes me laugh - my best friend uses it as a word for lady bits and I can't hear it now without giggling, let alone order them in public Grin.

OP posts:
Shaxx · 25/06/2011 15:11

Thanks. I am pleased with my run. I just need to sort out my snacking Blush

knottyhair · 26/06/2011 10:08

Morning! Shaxx, hope your headache is better today. Had a lovely day yesterday at the school fete and then back to my friend's afterwards but oh dear, I dread to think how many calories I consumed! Started the day off well, but got to the fete at about 2 and it all went tits up! Had a Black Pearl cocktail (don't ask), small glass of rose wine, sausage from the BBQ (they'd sold out of rolls thank god). Back to friend's house, and she got a load of crisps & dips out and because I'd had a bit of booze (I barely drink anymore), I found it impossible very hard to resist! It got to about 8.30 and I thought "oh well, we won't be having any dinner now" so ploughed into the crisps even more. But then DP some bright spark decide we should all order kebabs! Had a small shish and it was LOVELY. At least I didn't drink anymore so felt OK this morning. Did Level 2 6W6P this morning and vigorously cleaned out the paddling pool! Chicken salad for lunch and fish tacos with bean & avocado salad for tea. Have a good one! xx

Thanks Knotty. I'm finally free of my headache. I used to get migraines when I was younger. I hadn't had any in ages until I had kids. Now I seem to get them every now and then and they last for ages. Sounds like you had a great day yesterday.

Today we went on a 'monster' walk in the woods (getting kids to spot monsters carved out from wood. Very cleverly done). I had an ice cream as its so hot and then I just had crisps and stuff as I was so hungry. Not good.

yoghurt, banana
solero ice cream, hula hoops, go ahead biscuits Hmm
chicken, salad

Spinning later

dinkystinky · 26/06/2011 22:08

Knotty, Shaxx - its ok to let go once in a while, just back into the zone with you now. Sounds like you both had a lovely day - love the idea of a monster walk! Personal trainer was ill this morning so had to cancel so inspired by Shaxx did a 5k run instead - wish I could say I like running but I barely tolerate it but was pleased to do it in a decent time and without ending up as a puddle on the floor. Then took kids to farmers market and sandpit in park, then home for salad lunch then - on hottest day of a year - hour and a half drive to friends place for their 2 kids birthday party and then 2 hour drive back! Just had a lovely dinner of spring lamb and salad and yoghurt with the last of the beetroot choc fudge cake - needed it after the night mare journeys to and back from the party!

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 27/06/2011 07:30

Looks like everyone had a lovely weekend!

Well i would love to say i was good but i would be blatantly lying sooooooo i wont.

line drawn under the weekend.

Been for a run this morning and managed to run a bit farther than usual before stoppigng to catch my breath.

Had some rice crispies and skimmed milk (i know its not the most nutrituse) as wanted something light after run and going to Shred after the school run.

Plan on left overchicken and cous cous salad for lunch and prob some other kind of salad for dinner i think.

Shaxx i was/am a migraine sufferer but have not had one for a long time (touches wood) but i still get really bad head aches regularly which are a bugger to kick.

BelleEnd · 27/06/2011 09:51

Rather a heavy weekend for me- My Dad's lovely Czech girlfriend made me some stodgy eastern European food, and I have eaten so much bread... I was all set to get back on the horse today, but have woken up with a horrible cold, and can't face it. But I will get back on when I feel better, I promise. :)

justaminute · 27/06/2011 09:54

Don?t be too hard on yourselves everyone. My weekend was a relaxed one food & drink wise too. I?m a strong believer in the saying ? All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy?Grin. Very impressed by all you exercisers ? especially in the heat. I?m getting a sweat on just typing!

We?ve had our fun so now it?s back to the zone everyone

knottyhair · 27/06/2011 09:55

Morning! Shaxx, glad your headache has gone. The monster walk sounds great, and I don't think your food intake sounds too bad - obviously not nutritionally great, but calorie-wise, probably not too bad, so every cloud Grin. Dinky, wow, doing a 5k run when you "barely tolerate" running is pretty impressive. As is thinbride, doing a run and a Shred? .

I've just been tortured done a Level 2 Shred, which was no joke in this heat, I could barely hold on to the weights due to sweat levels (sorry if TMI Blush ) Am trying to be VERY VERY good today food-wise as I'm going out to Pizza Express with a friend tonight. I'm just having a Leggera and drinking water. Need to make up for the weekend's excesses if I'm going to shift any more pounds before my holiday in 2 weeks time. Have a good day xx

knottyhair · 27/06/2011 09:57

X-posted! BelleEnd, sorry you're not well! Hope you get better soon. JAM, you are right of course about relaxing sometimes. It's just that I really want to get to my next target in the next 2 weeks if I can. Did enjoy the weekend though, glad you had a good one as well.

OP posts:
thinbridewaitingtogetout · 27/06/2011 11:56

Bellend hope you feel bettert soon, nothing worse than coming down with a cold when its summer time.

I have not shredded as after i nearly melted on the school run, i was not even gonna go there! Blitzed the house and just had bath before i take ds to playgroup.

dinkystinky · 27/06/2011 16:56

Hope you feel better soon BelleEnd. Our nanny is Slovakian and its always hard to resist her east european cooking when she bakes!

It is HOT out there today - went to bodycombat at lunch time (which is usually massively overbooked) and there were only 8 of us in the class! The promised rain hasnt started yet. Bet it starts just as I head home though...

Shaxx · 27/06/2011 20:35

Its too hot today! I would love it if it rains tonight. No sign here yet.

I was on a course at work today (tomorrow and Wed too) and I resisted all the yummy biscuits at coffee breaks and didn't touch the lunch which was various yummy looking rolls and bowls of quality crisps. I think I definitely deserve a pat on the back for that Grin
Instead, I went out to pret and bought a salad and had an apple.

This evening I've had some noodles with fish and some vanilla yoghurt.

Well done to all of you exercising today. I can't manage it. I went to my spinning class yesterday and there were only 5 of us in there.

LadyBuzz · 27/06/2011 21:44

Not too bad heat wise here, yesterday was a scorcher but today has had a breeze and lots of cloud, it poured down all Saturday though so hoping the rain (and thunder ) stays away. i'll wish it your way shaxx and dinky.

Not a great weekend calorie wise but it has been a special one.

Sunday was manic, out at 8:55 to get to a christening, then straight from there to DS1s party! I was knackered, don't think i did too bad food wise really and it was a lovely day!

So back in the zone tommorrow, i'm going to take a leaf out of your book shaxx and try the 1000 calorie thing for 3 days. I did make Pilates tonight and it was hard but i felt better for going!

belleend hope you feel better soon

knottyhair · 28/06/2011 10:13

Morning! Shaxx, consider your back firmly patted - it's really hard on training when it's all laid on for you, so you have amazing willpower! LadyBuzz, glad you had a lovely day on Sunday.

Well it's still fecking boiling here! It's supposed to be "fresher" and cloudy but the sun is still well & truly out and it's still sticky & humid. No rain overnight either by the look of it although it was forecast. Managed to pick up an injury on the school run (left DS's friend's lunchbag at home and had to run back and get it). When I got back and squatted down to pick up my weights, major twinge in my knee (whenever I've attempted running in the past it always does something to my knee!). So had to do a very scaled down 4 circuits of NMTZ and take it very easy - bit gutted as I really wanted to go for it this week. Never mind, hopefully it'll be better tomorrow. Had my first meal from Jillian's book for breakfast - wholemeal toast spread with a mixture of soft goat's cheese and fat free greek yoghurt, topped with raspberries & honey - yum. Bean soup for lunch, although might have salad if it doesn't cool down. Then balsamic pork steaks with watercress & orange salad and new potatoes for tea. Hope everyone has a good one xx

dinkystinky · 28/06/2011 10:22

Good work Shaxx - a pat from me too! Sounds like you had a great weekened LadyBuzz - and well done for making it to Pilates. Definitely could do with that rain - though not today as poor DH is off to watch cricket at the Oval and will be most put out if it gets rained off.

Knotty - sorry you're having a twinge in your knee. If you have a knee support, try wearing that for the rest of the day to see if it feels better as wa rseult. Your Jillian breakfast sounds interesting - did it fill you up?

Its my 8 year wedding anniversary today. Went for Dylan Moran comedy tickets for anniversary present for DH (am keeping the speedboat trip for a summer surprise for the boys) and he's delighted. We're off out to a japanese restaurant for dinner tonight. Have done circuits of pain this morning and will squeeze in a body balance class after work before going for dinner.

knottyhair · 28/06/2011 10:29

Happy Anniversary Dinky (and Dinky's DH!)! I love Dylan Moran, and enjoy your dinner out! The breakfast did fill me up, felt a bit "naughty", even though it's not! Might do one of her muffin recipes next. Can't decide between blueberry banana or oatmeal chocolate chip....

OP posts:
iluvcake · 28/06/2011 10:33

Dinkly, Happy Anniversary! Enjoy your evening out.

Knotty-ouch! Hope your knee is better soon.

Well done everyone on all the exercise, especially in this heat! Thank goodness it's a bit cooler today. DS has his sports day this afternoon so I'm glad the temp has dropped a bit.

Well, I didn't have a brilliant day yesterday but I feel as if my mindset is slowly shifting. I managed to do Jillian's Banish Fat/Boost Metabolism this morning. I did 5 circuits and didn't find it too bad. The ab circuit with the planks was hard though! It's made me feel more energised and I feel as if I don't want to biff and undo all my good work.

Hope everyone has a good day.

iluvcake · 28/06/2011 10:35

Knotty, Mmmm...oatmeal choc chip sounds soooo good. I haven't had my porridge yet as I slept in a bit so didn't have time and i didn't want to eat it before exercising so am staaaarving.

Which Jillian book is this? Is it a new one?

dinkystinky · 28/06/2011 11:18

Caerful Iluv - Knotty will recruit you into the Jillian cult Grin

Knotty - I last saw Dylan Moran live when I was working in the student union club in my university in 1998 (before he hit the big time) and he was playing a comedy night. He was brilliant - hope he's improved with age!

justaminute · 28/06/2011 12:00

Knotty can sign me up to her cult too if Jillian includes chocolate in her recipes. I wonder how many plank jacks I?d have to do to burn off one of those morsels? Perhaps she could give exercise equivalents rather than calorie counts in her book?.. I think the heat is getting to me Smile.

Happy Anniversary Dinky, did dh get you anything? Your ?circuits of pain? made me smile, I bet you weren?t smiling though. Well done if you manage 2 lots of exercise today. The problem I?m finding with exercising in this heat is that I?m getting so sweaty I need to wash my hair and I HATE washing my hair. It is putting me off my daily shred (not that I?ve done it every day as I intended to for this month ? woops).

I might muster some energy to go for a run tonight, I haven?t been for ages and miss it. I?m struggling to find time to fit things in. We are trying to redecorate ds?s room. He has been decamped to a put up bed in the study junk room. The only time we can do it without interference is whilst the dcs are asleep which eats into my exercise time. And then there are all the other jobs I have to do in the evening. I?m cursing dh for being too tight to get a decorator in.
