knottyhair · 24/04/2011 07:31

Hope it's OK that I've started this new thread, but the old one is now full! Not sure if my entry went on the old one, but anyhoo - let's keep going people! Here's to eating tasty healthy food, finding and sticking with exercise we enjoy and getting fitter, stronger & hopefully slimmer! xx

Shaxx · 03/06/2011 08:57

BelleEnd I'm like that with all nuts. I absolutely love nuts and cashews are my favourite. I've stopped buying them as I just can't stop eating them if I start. Thats the same reason why we don't have peanut butter in the house (think Jar and Spoon Blush)

Sts for me this morning. I can't say I'm surprised. I did have a 4 day blow out at the beginning of the week. Looking forward to a good loss next week now I'm in my June regime Smile

Have yoghurt, muesli for breakfast
coucous salad for lunch
chicken skewers, rice, pak choi for dinner

Good luck everyone and hope you all have a good day.

Shaxx · 03/06/2011 08:58

Sorry to hear you're feeling bad BelleEnd.
Ulcers are easily treatable aren't they?

Hope you feel better soon.

Shaxx · 03/06/2011 09:00

Oh and well done on sts! Thats good news for you.
Hopefully when you're feeling better, you know you'll be able to lose weight with carbs back in your diet.

fedupofnamechanging · 03/06/2011 09:10

10st 7.6 which is a gain for me. Am not surprised given how much I've blown the diet in the past week. Feel very cross with myself.

My best friend and god daughter are visiting tomorrow and we are going out for lunch, so will have to make some careful choices.

Hope you feel better soon Belle.

p.s. I looked on the internet and it said that oranges have 86 calories!!!! Am I the only person who didn't know that? That's more than half a Dime bar and I know what I'd rather eat. Vitamins are overrated anyway Wink

knottyhair · 03/06/2011 09:34

Morning! Shaxx, well done on STS! Sounds like you're doing really well on the food front. We saw X-Men First Class - more for DP than me, but I enjoyed it actually, probably because I could ogle at admire the acting ability of James McAvoy. Karma, put this week behind you and get back in the zone with you! Good luck eating out tomorrow, and yes, it's a shock when you look at the calories in some fruit isn't it? I definitely eat more veg than fruit at the moment, but strawberries and satsumas are usually in my fridge and I don't think they're too bad, if I can get to them before DS does. BelleEnd, agree with Shaxx, nuts are one of my faves, I just have to weigh them out like the sad fuck that I am I do with most things. Well done on STS, but sorry to hear you're in pain Sad.
I've lost 2.25lbs so quite chuffed! Just sweated my way through Jillian's NMTZ which was "challenging". Got to walk into town this morning to get DS back, who's been at my mum's for the night, then we've got a picnic with friends later, think I'll make a turkey wrap for me. Ended up having half a pizza and salad before the cinema last night so we'll have the prawn/broad bean pasta thingy tonight. Good luck to those still to weigh in xx

Well done knotty. You deserve a good result with all the exercise you are doing

justaminute · 03/06/2011 09:55

Go knotty!

Karma - I love the way you give chocolate equivalents for calories counts - we think alike Smile

I was hoping to have made a dent into last weeks hefty gain, sadly I'm a sts.

I managed to dig out jillian last night, it's tough but I've missed her. I've just taken my measurements so hopefully the tape measure will have moved by the end of the month even if the scales haven't.

BelleEnd · 03/06/2011 14:49

You lot would faint if you saw what I've consumed today... Shock

Shaxx · 03/06/2011 15:36

Knotty well done! thats an excellent result.

JAM Keep going! Me and you have a challenge to complete Smile

BelleEnd we all have days like that. I've just eaten a snack size maltesers AND kitkat Blush. Bored at home trying to avoid housework is to blame. I'm going for a run later so I'm hoping it'll be burned off!

BelleEnd · 03/06/2011 18:34

Right. I have to write this down, because this is the first proper out-of-control blowout in months, and if I write it down, I may stop.

1 bowl all bran
1 glass of full cream milk (helps stomach ulcer)
2 pieces of wholemeal toast, one with peanut butter, one with marmalade
cashew nuts
2 choc chip rice cakes
a packet of m and ms
half a packet of chocolate and yogurt covered banana chips
a packet of salt and vinegar crisps

See? SEE?! Once I lose control I am like the incredible hulk. I can't believe I ate all that. :(

Am making homemade wholemeal bread now, will hae some with tuna mayo salad for dinner.
I need to find a balance that is healthy but not lacking in stuff- If I go too long on salad my ulcer plays up something awful.
Hope you're doing better, ladies...

BelleEnd · 03/06/2011 18:35

I've just read that back, and it's not the end of the world, is it? I mean, that is what I'd eat in an avarage day pre healthy eating (yes, really!) And I never usually cheat, only I'm having all my cheats in one day instead of over a week

fedupofnamechanging · 03/06/2011 18:54

Belle, truthfully that doesn't sound as bad as it could be. I'll see your m&ms and raise you an icing covered doughnut Grin

Shaxx · 03/06/2011 19:34

and I'll raise you chicken curry, pilau rice and seekh kebab from the take away Hmm
too full for the gym Sad

Shaxx · 03/06/2011 19:34

Is slim fast any good....?

fedupofnamechanging · 03/06/2011 19:38

Slim fast is revolting imo. When I tried it, the only way I could make it palatable was to drink it with crushed ice.And I was sooo hungry - they lie when they tell you it is filling. Tbh, you could have 3 chocolate bars per day and a vitamin pill for the same calories.

knottyhair · 03/06/2011 19:47

Nooooooo! Stay away from any of those awful diet supplements! They are full of crap and you'll just be resentful that you haven't had any "proper" food and are more likely to biff IMO. I would say just get a few recipes that you like, are low calorie, easy to do, and most importantly taste nice! I shall mention it again at my peril Grin, but the BBC Good Food website is a godsend, as are the little books (101 Low Fat Feasts etc.) published by them. I swear this is what has kept me on the straight and narrow most of the time , being able to have nice tasty food that does me good. BelleEnd, as Karma says, it doesn't look as bad as it could! I shall just go and put my soap box back in the cupboard Blush.

OP posts:
Shaxx · 03/06/2011 20:07

Of course you are both right.

I just feel a bit disappointed with myself today.

I just got too tired and lazy to get properly organised. I think I need a couple of frozen ready meals or something in the freezer for times like this instead of agreeing with dh to go get a take away.

At least I didn't eat too much of it.

Right I'm putting it behind me, am sealing my lips (for food) for the rest of the day and will get up early for a run. Then go shopping on my way back. sh

thedogwalker · 03/06/2011 20:38

Hi all
Belle try cutting down on wheat products, it may help ease the tummy pain, I get terrible pains when eating the stuff, just try it for a couple of days and see if there is any difference. Just a thought. If you get stuck with what to eat then I can give you lots of goodies to replace the demon food.
Well done Belle, Shaxx, JAM on STS, be patient it will come good Smile
Mega well done Knotty, you are this weks pin up girl

Stay away from the awful diet drinks/shakes, agree with Knotty they will only make you binge more in the end, not fulfilling and come on, that's not what the body really wants, so it won't do any good in the long run. The odd blow out/day off is not the end of the world, stop thinking so negatively. Don't be depressed with yourself, you are a good person and you are eating a good sensible diet with the odd treat thrown in, keep that body guessing. Sorry don't mean to lecture, just don't want you feeling down. We are all doing so well, and we are supposed to encourage one another along this long journey Smile

Well I've lost 1lb this week, exactly what I ask to lose. So getting back on track. Just another 3 to lose to get back to where I was before the move and my 5 week biff Blush.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, the sunshine is here, lets enjoy, get those slinky outfits out of the wardrobe and smile.

BelleEnd · 03/06/2011 20:39

Thank you all for eating crap to make me feel better. The homemade bread with butter was lovely... I do feel on the point of being sick now with all the food, but you have made me feel a lot better :)

BelleEnd · 03/06/2011 20:42

Thanks dogwalker. The stomach problems started when I was doing low fat and low carb simultaneously- A typical day was no breakfast, a quorn salad, and a tuna salad. No bulk, no energy. I thought that it would be better once I was a bit more sensible, but it's a slippery slope for me, and I've been eating waaaaaaay too much salad these last few days. Made up for it today, mind, but bread really does help with the pain (very acidic and excruciating as times, as if there's waves of boiling acid washing over my stomach.)

Shaxx · 03/06/2011 22:44

Thanks TDW.
I think I'm just feeling sorry for myself. Sometimes it feels like I'll never be slim again. I just want to look normal and think I look ok and not fat and horrible.
I just need a slap Smile

LadyBuzz · 03/06/2011 23:13

shaxx consider yourself slapped - on the condition you return the favour Smile

ANOTHER horrendous week here, I have been out of control today, put another 1lb back on this week - i am going backwards - grrrr!

I must must must get back into the zone, get myself the shred DVD ordered and get down to it.
I need to get back to the gym, i'm not even going to Zumba anymore.

Tomorrow is another day, I'm working though so will have to take a packed lunch to keep away from the choccies!

Shaxx · 03/06/2011 23:26

LadyBuzz returning the slap Smile
Good idea to make a packed lunch.

I think weightloss is all about the organisation.
Organising food and organising time to exercise, so pencil it in your diary.

queenceleste · 03/06/2011 23:28

Hello! I'm just a few weeks into WW and starting to keep to the bloody points (head hanging low with sorrow emoticon) but I'm doing ok have lost a few pounds and am keeping to it.
But I made a no point soup today
chicken stock cube (I know they're a point each)
full bunch of celery
two carrots
two onions
five bell peppers, red, green and yellow assortment.
And it doesn't taste that yummy.
it's the peppers isn't it do you think?
Could I add anything to it to make it more yummy?
I can't face a VAT of the stuff!
Thanks

Shaxx · 03/06/2011 23:46

I don't think I'd enjoy that soup.
How about adding some tomatoes and basil?
A bit of chilli or tobasco?

Would fat free yoghurt work?
