Hope it's OK that I've started this new thread, but the old one is now full! Not sure if my entry went on the old one, but anyhoo - let's keep going people! Here's to eating tasty healthy food, finding and sticking with exercise we enjoy and getting fitter, stronger & hopefully slimmer! xx

Where is everyone? All locked in the zone I hope. I just have to share with you all... I'm working all day today and did a bit of window shopping in my lunch hour, I was admiring a dress in a shop window and went in to discover the price take a closer look. The shop assistant appeared and was encouraging me to try it on. She took a size 12 off the rack for me Smile. The dress was £225 (eek) so I politely declined but maybe it could be my new wedding outfit if I'm really good Wink

knottyhair · 31/05/2011 15:57

Hi JAM! I did indeed have the bean soup in Carluccio's, and was a complete PITA by asking for it with no oil on the top and no focaccia. Hope I'm allowed back Smile. You must've felt good after the dress incident! I got back in my size 12 jeans a few weeks ago (I could always get them on but they were decidedly uncomfortable!). Now they're getting a bit loose, can't believe I'm saying that... Hope you enjoy Shredding!

fedupofnamechanging · 31/05/2011 16:00

Well done JAM. You must be so happy this afternoon Smile

knottyhair · 31/05/2011 16:11

Just wondered, does anyone have any idea how many calories in Carluccio's bean soup (without oil or bread!)? I was thinking 250-300?

OP posts:
BelleEnd · 31/05/2011 16:16

Wow Jam, that's fab! Size 12 is what I'm aiming for... I have a few bits in a 12, but mostly they won't fit, so I can't wait to get to where you are now! Is it your wedding?

justaminute · 31/05/2011 16:37

Thanks guys. belle I'm off to a friend's wedding at the start of July. I didn't try the dress on, I suspect it would have been snug on the hips/belly but the fact she thought I was a 12 made my day. it's probably a clever marketing ploy to uplift customer spirits.

Knotty - I did a quick google of the soup, according to myfitnesspal it is 392 calories - I think that is with oil but no bread. I'm surprised it is that high. I'm not as restrained as you and have the bread when I go - probably explains a lot Blush. And get you with your baggy size 12 jeans - well done!!!

knottyhair · 31/05/2011 17:00

Thanks JAM! Yes I found that one, then found another one which says 111! Pretty sure that's not right wishful thinking. Oh well, think it's been a small balls up today in that case. I ate an M&S lemon curd iced bun at my friend's this afternoon, thinking I'd be OK to do so but will now go over my allowance Blush. I've changed my dinner (still do the pasta for DP & DS) but I'll have an Innocent Veg pot instead to limit the damage. Never mind!

OP posts:
justaminute · 31/05/2011 17:20

go with the 111 knotty Wink It's only beans, water and flavourings - sounds so unappetising like that.

BelleEnd · 31/05/2011 20:10

I have no idea what Carluccio's is, but I want bean stew :o

All bran
Chicken salad
An apple and loads a few grapes
Leftovers from last night's roast.

Going to the Eisteddfod tomorrow, and have already made picnics- 2 salads for me with some quorn sausage salad and rye bread, and lots of fruit. Am Envy at the bloody massive pile of sandwiches I've made for DH and the boys... Mmmmmm honey sandwiches...

thedogwalker · 31/05/2011 20:42

Hi all

Wow look at you *JAM, great news on the dress shopping, proves that you do look slim, you must just have a distorted view of yourself.

And another wow for you Knotty on your photos, I'd always imagined you as brunette with curly hair too, you look lovely and slim.

Belle I don't know how you survive, your food intake everyday always looks pretty small to me, I'd be starving. I don't eat wheat type of carbs which prevents the bloating, but I eat all veg kind of carbs, don't know if that will help you. If you need to use flour, use spelt or rye flour again this will help prevent bloating.

Well I've been eating well again since Friday and I feel so much better for it, glad that I'm back in the zone.

Jam No au pair yet, my DM is living with me filling the gap, should have an au pair by the 27th of June, hopefully. DS cries when I leave for work every morning, but he's getting better. I always feel awful, but I know it's not for forever. DH gets acorss every other week for a long weekend at the moment, but that will change when he goes off to the hot sandy place, but we make the most of the time we have together.

Taking my Mum to Stone henge tomorrow, she's never been and as it is only a couple of miles away, I thought hey why not. So booked day off work and off we go, wth DS in a sling, we can walk round and take our time, slow plod = a few calories burned Smile.

Hope everyone is well. Take care xx

knottyhair · 01/06/2011 09:22

Morning! BelleEnd this is Carluccio's. Enjoy Eisteddfod and your picnic Smile! TDW, hope it works out with your au pair. Sorry it's so tough at the moment, it's horrible when they cry when you leave Sad. Enjoy "Stone Enge" as Spinal Tap say.

Did 4 circuits of BFBM this morning, and I think I picked the hardest 4 for me! I was so hot and panting! Glad it's over with. Cereal and skimmed milk for brekkie, taking DS to the outdoor museum place today with some friends and we're walking there & back, about half an hour in total. Probably have a picnic there, a wrap for me I think. Making a "healthy" chicken tikka masala for tea, with rice, green beans & carrots. Have a lovely day x

Shaxx · 01/06/2011 10:59

JAM thats great! Are you going back to try it on??

Knotty and baggy size 12 jeans! Well I'm not surprised after seeing those pics. I dream of my size 12s getting baggy (at my height, I do need to be 8-10)

TDW ah that must be so sad to hear ds cry every morning. Ds2 still cries every morning that he goes to nursery but I know he's fine within a few minutes. Hopefully yours is too.

1st of June today so I thought I'd set myself a challenge of trying to lose 7lbs by the end of it. Its time to get a bit serious!

My plan is 3 healthy meals a day and no snacks. Fruit after lunch and small dessert after dinner (yoghurt mainly, something a bit treaty on weekends)
Gym 4x a week.

justaminute · 01/06/2011 13:24

Snap Shaxx! I?m getting serious for June too. Maybe if I lose 7lb I?ll go back to try the dress on. I?m scared on two counts - one being that the 12 won?t fit and two being it does and I?ll want to buy it - £225 is a lot of money ? I could buy a whole load of slinky clothes with that .

Shaxx · 01/06/2011 13:43

Whats your plan for June then JAM?

justaminute · 01/06/2011 13:56

Similar to yours.
Up the exercise - daily Shred + 3 other forms of exercise a week - netball or 5k run.
Healthy/sensible eating midweek with a few treats at the weekend. I have 3 weeks to get in the groove until PMT returns and I'm likely to blow it.

Shaxx · 01/06/2011 14:20

Don't think like that. Hopefully you'll have developed some excellent habits which you're bound to stick to and will not blow it Smile

I have to get back into that mental state by thinking forward to bedtime every day and wanting to go to ebd feeling happy that I had a good day and not annoyed because I gave in to temptation.

knottyhair · 01/06/2011 15:52

Go JAM and Shaxx {waves pom poms and does the splits} {gets up in agony having done irreparable damage to undercarriage}. And can I just say the size 12s are a bit loose - baggy would be pushing it Grin.

OP posts:
Shaxx · 01/06/2011 19:53

Thanks Knotty Grin
I feel very deserving of pompoms today as I've had
yoghurt + 1tblsp muesli for breakfast
Tomato soup, a pitta bread with houmous and an apple for lunch
Cajun chicken with runner beans, 2 new pots and watercress for dinner.
0% greek yoghurt and strawberries for dessert
AND I have just been for a 25min run.

It feels so good to have a healthy and fit day. I wonder why I can't do this every day. I never feel as happy as this if I've pigged out on chocolate. Stupid really.

BelleEnd · 01/06/2011 21:07

Ah yes dogwalker, my food intake looks impressive, but portion size is pretty massive. And I refuse to ration fruit. I know it's full of sugar blah blah blah but it's such a vast improvement on the old diet, and I get so bloody hungry without it in the afternoons.

So at eisteddfod today:
small bowl all bran
quorn sausage salad with half a piece of rye bread.
Same as above for supper
An apple, banana and a shitload of grapes.

I do feel like a bit of a swot today, as the rest of the family had buttery ham sanwiches and crisps for lunch and a KFC for dinner. I bloody love KFC... I sat there with a minging coffee and didn't nick a single piece of popcorn chicken. Also, DH got me a coffee with a shot of hazelnut in it, not realizing that it's hazelnut syrup and basically all sugar. I didn't drink it, but DH said it was lovely. :o

Am going to try being extra good these next few days, with food and work, and if I finish a 1st drafft of something I'm working on, I will let myself have a curry on sat night.

justaminute · 01/06/2011 23:00

Well done Belle & Shaxx. Day one and I've had a minor setback. I didn't have time to Shred today - if I do a double session tomorrow do you think that will be OK? However I did play netball and got player of the match

Food hasn't been too bad
Bran flakes & small glass of OJ
Satsuma
Marmite sandwich (multigrain bread) & cherry toms
oat cake with peanut butter
Sardine salad, chewy bar & petit filou
Celebratory slice of chocolate swiss roll Smile

According to food focus that lot comes to 1250 - well under my daily allowance even without the exercise. Should I be eating more? Confused. I agree it feels good to go to bed having had a fit & healthy day. Let's hope the resolve continues tomorrow.

knottyhair · 02/06/2011 08:43

Yay! Well done on great days Shaxx, BelleEnd and JAM, and extra applause for JAM getting player of the match! Keep hold of that good feeling! I am a sweaty mess after doing 6W6P whilst DS's friend who slept over stared at me like I was some sort of Dr Who alien Grin. Had cereal & skimmed milk for breakfast, mushroom soup for lunch and tea will be some sort of pasta/broad bean/prawn combo. We're off to the cinema tonight so I'd like to keep some calories for a bit of chocolate or a few crisps or something - I'll have to see how it goes. Have a good day xx

OP posts:
Shaxx · 02/06/2011 19:48

Well done BelleEnd, JAM and Knotty.

Knotty what are you watching at the cinema?

I had a fairly good day today. We went to Colchester zoo so I walked around loads. I find zoos quite sad generally but it was a really good zoo and the kids loved it. They even got to feed the beautiful giraffes and the majestic elephants.

Had a yoghurt + tblsp muesli for breakfast, had a pitta bread with a slice of turkey pastrami and salad + fruit for lunch (how good was that considering the rest of the family had lots of yummy stuff) BUT I did get really hungry at around 4.30 so had a small bag of ritz cheese cracker things.
Dinner was salmon and veg and a bit of ice cream and strawberries for dessert.

fedupofnamechanging · 02/06/2011 19:52

BelleEnd quorn do their own version of popcorn chicken, called funnily enough popcorn chicken. I've never checked the calories but I'd bet it is lower than KFC. It is not a bad substitute either - I buy it for my DS2 who is a vegetarian.

You are all doing very well. I've been shamefully bad in recent days. Don't know what's the matter with me. Hope to be better tomorrow.

BelleEnd · 02/06/2011 22:19

Ooooh thanks karma. I am a Quorn fiend. I used to be veggie, but I do love roast chicken... Shall most certainly look out for the Quorn popcorn chicken.

I had one of those days today. You know when you can't eat enough to fill you, and you're thinking about food as soon as you've finished your lunch..? Portions were gargantuan. If I haven't gained my tomorrow's weigh-in, you may present my body to scientists as a medical miracle :o

small bowl of all-bran
Quorn sausage salad wrap with roasted seeds and cashew nuts- a shameful amount.
Some ham
An apple
An orange
Picked at kids' scrambled eggs
Quorn meatball salad with 1 slice rye bread

Those BASTARD cashews. I buy them thinking I will roast five or six with seeds to sprinkle on salad as a treat, and then eat it by the fistful. I WILL NOT BUY THEM AGAIN.

Hope you lot are doing better with the self-control!

BelleEnd · 03/06/2011 08:50

11st1: STS. Am happy with it.

Unfortunately, the pain in my stomach has come back this morning. :(
I was sure that adding a few carbs to my diet would help, but evidently not. This is the result of extreme and stupid dieting I did before I joined the thread, and the doctor mentioned the possibility that I may have caused an ulcer in my colon by eating nothing but salad and protein for about 2 months.

Forgive me for having a day off today, girls x
