Busty Babe With GSOH Seeks SW Partner for Weigh-Ins, Bad Jokes & Barely Veiled Self-Loathing

All right, when you've un-cringed from the above -

I'm about to (re-)embark on Slimming World and since I have neither the time nor the funds to go to classes could really do with a coupla pals for those delicious weekly morning weigh-ins. Is anyone interested? I guess it would be ideal if we were all SWing, but it ain't essential. It's the praise or blame I need, alongside willing recipients of lengthy descriptions of the size of my arse Grin.

Few stats (and needless to say we needn't go in for actual weights here)

I lost 3.5 stone a couple of years ago on SW, and have gained about 20lb of that. I KNOW! Silly bint.

As a first step I want to lose 10lb because this will take me into the 'light enough for IVF' category (I have 6 months left before referral for fertility treatment and if not pregnant by then would like to arrive in the pink of health).

After that I would like to lose another 10lb and say 'hello stranger!' to my sad neglected wardrobe of vintage frocks.

Finally, if you are interesting in hanging out, would you mind awfully looking in the mirror and checking that you actually are properly overweight?! Because nothing would depress me more than celebrating getting into a size 16 dress, when everyone else on the thread was lamenting finding their size 10 skinnies a little snug Hmm

Right. I'll now sit back and await rejection. Alpine my luvva, if you're reading this do join!

Alpine yes there is a creche - awesome. Looking forward to some peace. CONGRATS on the fab weight loss this week.

Today I will eat:
B: scrambled egg on toast
L: Turkey and pea frittata and salad
D: WE ARE GOING OUT FOR DINNER WITH FRIENDS.WITH THE BABY. oh dearie. Will try and have steak, veg and pots or something similar. AND NOT PIZZA/chips hmmmmm

Syn free day in prep for tonight!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 11/05/2011 08:46

Xopst with Hedge - fab weight loss, well done. Glad to hear I am not the only one that big. I was wearing a 40F bra (guess work) so shows the importance of getting measured. Glad your son is OK too

BlooferLady · 11/05/2011 08:47

Ooooo top work Pony and Hedgepig - looks like we're all recovering from the depredations of Easter and Royal Weddings...

C4Ro I know what you mean about speed of conversation - at one point I was jotting down notes on what folk had said so I didnae miss anything, which is I am sure in no way slightly creepy Confused Hmm

Poor Boo, sorry about your difficult week food-wise - hope weigh-in won't be too shocking.

And thanks for those recipes for crispy roastie dry-fry thingiwotsits - they sound just the think for a salty snack when the need arises every night Grin

Hope all goes well at the gym Cheese! It's amazing how adept trainers are at making you feel that there is nothing in the least surprising about a bigger lass spanking it on the stepper. I MUST get back to mine - but I always look at the pile of books on the desk, and feel guilty about stepping away from them

Now, food for today (was in the office by 8am to avoid spending too long with Evil Colleague, hence rather snatched breakfast)

B - orange, coffee
L - not sure yet - I may get sushi
D - chicken casserole, new potatoes, stewed apples and 0% total (HEB)

Syns - 2.5 for tbsp honey in the apple - I will not others as they are consumed.

Yay to Cheese for a storming loss! Care to tell me us how you did it?

RIGHT off to sneakily do some research at my desk

L: roasted beetroot/goat's cheese salad with my usual toppings
D: omg - have no idea. Salmon? Bolognese? Confused Oooh Thai stir-fry perhaps. Beef Teryaki?

mummynoseynora · 11/05/2011 09:10

Cheese thats so not fair I was hoping to be winner of the week - with a 2.5lb loss Grin which puts me at ..... my starting point Hmm

I have read so much and can't remember any of it! will be back shortly with replies!

C4ro · 11/05/2011 09:17

I can't BELIEVE it... I'm in danger of being bottom of the list and I even managed a small 1lb loss this week! Congratulations to you all, wonderful results all round.

Oh and you all have very impressive norkages- I only got up to DD and it is all slowly settling back now as well since stopping breastfeeding a while ago

I'm on authentic Thai food tonight as DD and I are going round to a Thai colleagues new flat- she just moved here. I have noted that she puts a lot of Sambal sauce on things in the canteen so when she asked if I wanted spicy food I have wimped out and asked for fairly mild. I may still have a ring of fire tomorrow. Since poo-talk is almost obligatory on this thread, I will let you know!

MadameBoo · 11/05/2011 09:19

2 on! Arrrrgh!

BlooferLady · 11/05/2011 09:22

Oh well done Nora and C4 - aye what a good week to be sure

Welcome to obrigada :) Am sure you will be completely lost in all the convo like me!

Alpine I completely agree with whoever it was who said you will live to 102! Bloody amazingly healthy diet! Loving the running sauna - felt like that when I attempted my 5k on friday! Grin

Only is it you who does ballet or a DC? must have missed that bit! My dd does it :)

MadameBoo - don't hide if its going badly...keep posting - we can all help each other!

Hedge - glad to hear DS is doing well

All these huge norkages! I thought I was big when feeding at a F/G cup!around an E now so it does go down eventually....

C4ro · 11/05/2011 09:25

nappy I'm scribbling down those recipes too- thanks.
Boo Oh shite- do dig deep for the determination and get back on track.

BlooferLady · 11/05/2011 09:26

Gah! Sorry Boo Sad Not as bad as my 5lb gain mind . But at least you know why it happened, I guess?

OP posts:
mummynoseynora · 11/05/2011 09:28

oh! brekkie today was a nightmare... DD managed to spill a cup of cranberry juice all over the carpet Angry.... then DS managed to grab the remnants and attempt to throw them at my laptop AngryAngry......
soooo I grabbed about 4 biccies and had half a mug of low cal hot choc as I ran out the door

got some tea at work and a go ahead yoghurty break bar 72cal per slice (2 slices) so that'll do me for proper brekkie I guess.... No idea whats going to happen the rest of the day as its my working lunch day and I haven't brought any Hmm

MadameBoo · 11/05/2011 10:29

I wish i'd had time to weigh myself again before I ran out of the door - I had a poo after weighing - I may be able to reduce the gain to 1 :o

Congrats to all you big losers - who am I PMing my details to this week?

BlooferLady · 11/05/2011 10:57

Deets to Only, Boo!

I want sushi for lunch. I wonder what the synnage is

OP posts:
mummynoseynora · 11/05/2011 11:01

I want chocolate and crisps.... BAD day

WhatTheActualFuck · 11/05/2011 11:04

Some storming losses there. Good work!

I have to report no loss this week. I was expecting a gain so I'lll take this as a small victory. If only I'd gone shopping for a swimsuit earlier in the week, I could have had more time to benefit from my epiphany in M&S changing room. I have been the epitome of virtuosity ever since.

Although that does put me still at the same weight I was when I joined this thread so perhaps victory is the wrong word. Minor failure, perhaps?

This is my last weigh in before I head off on holiday next week. Fuck knows what damage I shall inflict with tapas and wine but I shall enjoy every minute of it and worry about the aftermath on my return. Then operation Banish the Belly for Bali will commence in ernest.

BlooferLady · 11/05/2011 11:16

Sorry about your bad day Nora Sad. I am very much having one too. I have a colleague (who until recently was my boss) who radiates resentment, bitterness, unhappiness and loathing towards me, and makes my every moment in her presence unpleasant. This is why I will not be giving up smoking until I am gone from her presence.

Fuck well done on sustaining - and I know that Damascene moment in the bright-lit changing room only too well .

let us all thank our lucky stars that we did not do what an old pal of mine did, ie, zip herself into a very tight dress in M&S, try and get out, fail, and have to enlist the help of attendants Grin

obrigada · 11/05/2011 11:24

Wow, this is a busy thread, joined SW last night, I weigh in at 12st 7lb Blush, stayed for the meeting, felt totally out of my comfort zone but am going to give it a serious go!

So far today, I had 2 boiled eggs and 1 rasher (all fat removed) for breakfast. For snack I had banana, 0% greek yoghurt and cinnamon to add a bit of flavour.

Will take me a while to really get into it but hopefully this time next week I will weigh lighter Hmm

mummynoseynora · 11/05/2011 11:33

ok so I haven't eaten choc or crisps but I may have intentionally accidentally inhaled a donut Confused on the good side, I will be fine until I get home to eat something vaugely healthy... on the bad... its a donut!

got a week to get some weight off... today shall be eat and be free day Wink

fishandlilacs · 11/05/2011 11:43

2lb off today-I haven't followed the diet at all this week but I am more mindful of what i am eating for the sake of the baby! I am pleased. That makes a big fat loss of 24lb now.

Having spoken to another midwife, she wants me to carry on with SW so I am in 2 minds. I dont think i'll bother going to group anymore as you can imagine money is tighter than a bowstring now.

I have swung between so many emotions this last week about the job loss, its been hard as hell but I have promised myself to stop frickin stressing about it, there is no point. We are by no means totally on the breadline, theres people out there so much worse off than us.

I feel resentment that i am having to fark about trying to find a new job when i should just be chilling and taking care of myself-i was on the computer til 9.30 last night fighting to keep my eyes open

AlpinePony · 11/05/2011 12:37

fishy You can weigh in with us once a week and we won't charge you 7.95 for the privilege of doing so! Wink

C4ro · 11/05/2011 12:54

Hi fish - I'm really impressed you are still awake at 9.30 pm- when I was in early pregnancy I couldn't keep my eyes open that late, it's exhausting.

Alps You mentioned you got to eat something your DS refused- does he have phases of easy/ difficult to get him eating? I got a bollocking from the baby clinic yesterday that DD is still on 4 large bottles a day- but she is such a disinterested eater (takes after her father) that I can't cut them out... or I will have to spend 40 minutes each meal force feeding her like a little goose to get the solids in her.

Blooferlady Why on earth did you fall out with your ex-boss. I can only think of one of mine that I'd nudge off a cliff if the chance presented itself.

nora was that "tripped and fell" on a donut! Grin Easily done... the floors round here are very slippy... lucky that you had a soft landing Wink

Pinkjenny · 11/05/2011 13:10

Well done on the losses, ladies. I have even started running in my quest to morph into someone thin. It's not a pretty sight, believe me.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 11/05/2011 13:18

Aah I can't keep up with everyone!

well done to all the losers, and for those who didn't - its another week so time to get back on track. Sorry Nora for beating you.

bloofer Sorry about the bitch boss. Why is she so hideous? And wy were you drinking bitter

Hmm i think because its my first week of SW I stuck to the diet rigidly. been doing extra easy which is easy. And the free food like pasta, rice etc I weigh out a portion size eg 75g per person or whatever the packet says to stop me guesstimating. I've also walked an hour with the buggy every day. Pretty chuffed, got to keep going though. Got a wedding at the end of May and I own a very nice Hobbs dress that I'd like to fit into by then. Although my enormus norks may not.
