Busty Babe With GSOH Seeks SW Partner for Weigh-Ins, Bad Jokes & Barely Veiled Self-Loathing

All right, when you've un-cringed from the above -

I'm about to (re-)embark on Slimming World and since I have neither the time nor the funds to go to classes could really do with a coupla pals for those delicious weekly morning weigh-ins. Is anyone interested? I guess it would be ideal if we were all SWing, but it ain't essential. It's the praise or blame I need, alongside willing recipients of lengthy descriptions of the size of my arse Grin.

Few stats (and needless to say we needn't go in for actual weights here)

I lost 3.5 stone a couple of years ago on SW, and have gained about 20lb of that. I KNOW! Silly bint.

As a first step I want to lose 10lb because this will take me into the 'light enough for IVF' category (I have 6 months left before referral for fertility treatment and if not pregnant by then would like to arrive in the pink of health).

After that I would like to lose another 10lb and say 'hello stranger!' to my sad neglected wardrobe of vintage frocks.

Finally, if you are interesting in hanging out, would you mind awfully looking in the mirror and checking that you actually are properly overweight?! Because nothing would depress me more than celebrating getting into a size 16 dress, when everyone else on the thread was lamenting finding their size 10 skinnies a little snug Hmm

Right. I'll now sit back and await rejection. Alpine my luvva, if you're reading this do join!

Cheese What gym is it? I go to David Lloyd but must admit I don't use the creche very often as it is 4 pound an hour and I feel like they have enough of my hard earned cash as it is! It's such a family orientated gym I really do feel you should get a free allowance of say 5 creche hours a week.

Also do you do an hour in one go with the buggy or is it something like 20 mins walking to shops, 20 mins walking around shops, 20 mins back, 30 mins to park, play at park, 30 mins back etc

Cheeseandbiscuits · 11/05/2011 13:41

Nappy its virgin active (west london). I only joined yesterday so haven't been yet. My DD is only 10 weeks old so it'll be 15min walk there, in creche for an hour, then I'll take her for a swim as they have a baby hydrotherapy pool. Then 15min walk home. Creche is £5 hr which is quite good as shes so little. It drops to £4 if I book 10 sessions at a time. If I didn't put her in the creche I'd never go. we'll also do mummy and baby yoga together there.

c4ro He has always loved his grub. He's now on 3 bottles of 180 a day and doesn't always finish. He has fruit & fromage frais for breakfast, a Nijntje biscuit mid-morning, something to "play" with at lunch, e.g., cut up fried egg, sarnie bits - usually ends up being thrown at the dog. Mid-afternoon another biscuit - Nijntje/Liga/Ella's Organic meusli bar bollocks - and then for dinner he has whatever I've made e.g., bolognese before salt/bisto/wine added & a few pasta spirals, or tonight is salmon, cauli cheese & low-salt, low-sugar baked beans, followed by a fromage frais. One thing is for sure, he much prefers home-made to shop and he's not keen on Olvarit - tasteless mush, but for some reason Friso has all but disappeared from the shelves. :( Got some nice stuff earlier in the week for emergencies (i.e., when I've not cooked) - next time I go downstairs I'll check what it is.

BlooferLady · 11/05/2011 13:44

Well done on the loss Fish - and so much luck for the job hunting: I really do feel for you.

Oh, about my boss - well: she is, overall, a desperately unhappy and bitter woman who resents any achievement or happiness or success in others. For the past 2 or 3 years we have actually had an OK working relationship because I was very soothing and nice and baked her cakes and so on, and because despite her faults she shares some itnerests with me. However she recently felt that she had been slighted at work and that I had been favoured, and in a manner that I can only describe as breathtakingly bullying and cowardly and unprofessional is taking it out on me - a junior to her and having no party to any of the decisions made FGS! - by silent treatment, snapping, withdrawing her help and line management at the most crucial point of my career thus far - oh God, it's been awful. I changed my working days to avoiding seeing her and at one point when it was really bad actually took a day's leave just so I could avoid her for a bit.

BAH. It's OK really, it's not like I work down a coal mine and am getting beaten up in the toilets. It's just a bit of a poisonous atmosphere. And everyone knows and sympathises and I'll be moving on soon, so

\just checked out where we are going for dinner tonight. Its to celebrat the end of DH exams..There are cocktails, so many cocktails. And my best friend will be there and she is skinny and loves a drink. And I haven't been out for MONTHS. How am I going to resist?

BlooferLady · 11/05/2011 13:51

Cheese, under those circs I would say that I am going to not throw caution to the winds, but enjoy myself, and compensate by having syn free days the rest of the week/extra exercise. THis is because I know that if I said "I will be good and not do anything norty' then I WOULD, and then feel shit. But if I was norty in a 'planned' sort of way then at least you're in control. Did that make sense? No? TOugh Grin

Does the venue have an online menu [poet emoticon] so you can plan ahead?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 11/05/2011 14:08

Yeh it does, we're going to Balans. I would have steak but its 22 quid so sod that! I might have the seafood jambalaya, should be OK i recks. Yes that was what I was thinking Bloof. I will do extra exercise and be super good all week otherwise!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 11/05/2011 14:10

Bloof just seen your message about your boss. Sounds miserable, good you are moving in soon.

BlooferLady · 11/05/2011 14:17

Jambalaya sounds YUM! Hope you can do it so that you have a great nightout and still lose on the next DoD. The odd thing is that when I had my triumphant loss last time I don't remember ever feeling as if I was missing out, so I can only conclude I was taking my own advice at the time, and compensating for the funs. Anyawy - for £22 for a steak I would expect it to first clean the house and order my books by genre and author Hmm!

Yar, it's not great. Just heard it'll be a good month or so before I move on - but since I shall be on study leave for 3 weeks of that I shall survive! And it's probably good for the soul or something.

I'm doing dry roasted potato wedges, beans and attempting my first dry fried egg for lunch. Got the oven up as hot as it will go (about 250 celsius) so hopefully they will be nice and crispy. So tempted to sprinkle some cheese on but will resist.

Had a rich tea and malted milk with my cuppa earlier. Anyone know the syn value?

nappyaddict · 11/05/2011 14:44

What seasoning does everyone put on potato wedges? I have done loads of different combinations with parsley, chives, rosemary, basil, dill, garlic, onion, oregano, thyme, sage, tarragon, cumin seeds, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, curry powder, turmeric, chilli powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, paprika, dijon mustard, balsamic vinegar.

Then for dipping tomato salsa, guacamole, mint mayo, mustard mayo, fromage frais with herbs and lemon juice, sour cream.

Does anyone know the syn value for sour cream?

nappyaddict · 11/05/2011 15:07

Oh crap. No eggs.

I added a veg stock cube to the water when I par boiled the wedges and it's given them a lovely flavour. Just put some cinnamon, ginger, cumin and cloves on them and some shredded chicken and bacon - they are delicious.

BlooferLady · 11/05/2011 15:09

You all right there Nappy? Grin

I just put cumin and chilli flakes on my wedges. And lots and lots of LOVELY SALT

nappyaddict · 11/05/2011 15:16

Another thing I really enjoy is when we have left over mash (potato, sweet potato, carrot, swede, parsnip, pumpkin) I like to mix it with egg, add cabbage, broccoli, leeks, onion, cauliflower, bacon, ham, fry or bake in patties or roll into meatball sized balls or put it in fishcakes and fry or bake those.

BlooferLady · 11/05/2011 17:19

Myum Nappy - like nice bubble & squeak!

RIGHT. You know how everyone needs a bit of incentive hm hm hmmmmmmmmm? Well how about blind terror will that do will it will it? I have one month in which to lose enough weight to crack out one of my 50s frocks, some towering heels, some scarlet lippie and my adorable wee hat with the black net veil for a murder mystery party costume do bidnit thingybob. See, 2 years ago this prospect would've been met with unmixed glee; now however I feel sick. Hopefully the bilious sensation will last until the party Grin

Just checking in quickly as will be back later on with the List of Doom. Have rushed around madly all day, now have to put DD to bed, water the greenhouse, finish sewing some stuff for a friend and then will return to do The List. Didn't want you all to think I'd abandoned you today

2lb off! How? Saturday cocktails must have been offset by only having cheese & oatcakes for dinner that night. Maybe the pram powerwalking with DS squeezed in while DD in nursery working also.
Avoided further tempting chocolate offers. Now I have run out of maternity pay am finding it easier to remind myself it is not saving £2, it is spending £3 I don't have to.

stinkypinky · 11/05/2011 20:56

Well done to all you losers, especially Bloof

Big hugs for those who didn't.

I lost 5lb, which is ok I guess Grin It is however in the context of 1/2lb off 1/2lb on at the preceding weeks.
