Hey Baby I've got my cat walking all over the desk and keyboard as I type and generally get in the way too, but what do you do that you start at 9pm on a Saturday? [Nosy emoticon]

DontCallMeBaby · 09/04/2011 23:11

Procrastinate, mostly ... ;) I'm an examiner for my professional association, and I have a marking scheme and answer guide due in, only I was supposed to do it by Thursday and it didn't happen. It keeps not happening - I've 'negotiated' tomorrow as a new deadline with my chief examiner. 'Negotiated' as in he says 'I've not got much choice, have I?'

Anyway, broken the back of it now, which is just as well as the cat is now biting me in a desparate bid for attention. Little does he know he's about to get some attention in the form of Frontline ...

TooTiredToArgue · 10/04/2011 08:26

Quite right, Baby. I seem to have honed in on the only negative comments listed (and ignored all the positive ones). Glass empty, moi, mais non. Smile

Hi! It took me a while to find you all! Lovely new thread. I am now day 5 of my second round of L1. I am aiming to shred everyday this time- the first time took me about 7 weeks with the earthquake, sickness and other things. My weight loss has stalled but I know it will get cracking again in time. I am low carb and have lost 15 kgs so far so I know it works!

I have BFBM as well and have done it 3 times the first time I did 3 circuits, 2nd 4 circuits and 3rd time 5 circuits. It's ok but coming back to shred- I like it much better. I think I missed the weights. Its good as a change though. I have ordered 6w6P and I also have ripped in 30 which I have to watch on my laptop because it is region 1. It looks awesome so I'll get into it after my 2nd round of shred.

Hi Dandy Grin

knottyhair · 10/04/2011 09:28

Febes, nice to see you back. How're things going there now? I've just done No More Trouble Zones, which is set up the same as BFBM (7 x 6 mins) but less cardio, more weights & mat work which I prefer. Bloody hard though! I managed (just about!) the whole thing.

febes · 10/04/2011 09:46

That sounds good. I think I am a Jillian addict!!

knottyhair · 10/04/2011 09:56

Same here!

febes · 10/04/2011 10:00

Girl crush? Hahaha

knottyhair · 10/04/2011 10:11

I don't know! But I weirdly want to impress her, even though she's not even in the room! There's a bit on 6W6P when they're doing an extended plank and she breathily says to one of the girls "go further, go deeper...." which is a bit unnerving Grin! I think the gossip columns have made assumptions about her sexuality, whatever difference that makes.

Duna · 10/04/2011 11:03

Hello everyone Smile and thank you for all the reassurance! D3 today and I feel awful as if my legs and shoulders are threatening to seize up completely but I am hoping after today it will start to get a little less painfull! I'm not going to shred till this evening as I thought I'd get it 'out of the way' yesterday and then go and do stuff but instead ended up sitting like a shakey blog on the sofa for most of the afternoon - I never realised I was quite this unfit Grin

Haha tootired I'll be taking this to my MILs next weekend I'm expecting a few eyebrows too if its any comfort! At least we'll provide people with a laugh Hmm Grin

Dilligaf81 · 10/04/2011 11:53

Done day 2 of level 2 and my stomach is killing me. I have decided I HATE any exercise that has the word plank in it.

I have decided to do it 5 times a week and throw in a few runss as well.

Lets keep going.
Ive lost over an inch off my waist (no weight though) and TBH I dont have loasds to lose so am suprised how quick its making a difference.

JelliBelli · 10/04/2011 14:44

Knotty thanks for the info re the other DVDs. I think I will be ordering NMTZ as I like the lying down stuff and am not keen on the cardio either. Plus I hope to start C25K soon too so that will be more than enough cardio for me [exhausted emoticon].

I hadn't notice Jillian say about the "go further, go deeper" comment [naive emoticon]Smile.

Baby hope you got the work finished OK and in time.

Febes well done on the weight loss. 15kg is impressive. Will the region 1 DVD work on any computer? I quite fancy Ri30 but it won't work on a DVD player here either. [dopey emoticon]

Dilligaf but don't forget you've shifted the fat but at the same time grown some muscles (which will 'eat' calories all day long...Smile) so be pleased with your inch loss Grin.

I've done D2 of L2 of 6W6P today, it was hard work, I felt a bit flakey (and phoned it in a little towards the end, but don't tell her), the worst I have felt since my Jillian rebirth. Hopefull I will get better like I have on every other level I've worked through.... My glutes are sore today too, I wasn't sure if it was the workout or the garden, as I did a few hours out there yesterday, but having done the workout again this morning, it was the workout, it felt like a lungefest! I will have 'rock buns' by the end of this level Grin!!!

gracelesslady · 10/04/2011 17:23

hello everyone. no shredding for me this weekend - at work again last night and just feel too whacked after 3 hours kip this morning. will get back into it tomorrow. will be working up to level 3 by next weekend i think.... [hmmm]

Hi everyone, Well I have ordered 6week6pack after reading so much about it here! am still shredding 4 times a week but need something more, but don't want to change trainers. I love Jillian. Fact! but with 6w6p are there weights exercises, my arms need weights otherwise they start to turn flabby again. At the moment I am not leaving it more then 2 days without exercise.

Hey Febes! glad to see you back at it! can you not do a google search and find the code to make your dvd player multi-regional? you just tap in the code using the DVD remote control.

I have 4 weeks to keep going until I go on holiday. I am worried when I am away the fat will return as I am away for one month. It makes me quite anxious thinking about it to be honest. I will not be able to shred at all. : (

JelliBelli · 11/04/2011 01:00

Hi Conquita in 6W6P she only uses 1 weight but she does use it for arm stuff.

For your holiday can you just go through the workouts and write down the duration of each exercise and take the list with you? Or do you mean you won't have a chance to exercise?

Lottie I hope the DTs are much, much better and also that you are feeling better too, it sounds like an awful weekend for you.

stringbean · 11/04/2011 07:58

Measured myself today, as L3 Day6, and have not lost a single mm ANYWHERE. In fact, if anything, I'm bigger? Definitely more toned and fit; have been running a couple of times this week, which I've not been able to do for a while (largely because I get back problems due to lousy core muscles) and felt really strong and energetic, so it has definitely made a difference, but just not where I wanted Sad.

JM's 6W6P is currently on it's way from Amazon - will that make a difference? Or should I just face the fact that I'm pushing 44, and will never have a proper waist again? Finding it hard to fit into trousers now - they fit on the hips, but too small round the waist, but going up a size means they're too big everywhere else. Am I looking at elasticated waists now {depressed emoticon}?

MistyB · 11/04/2011 08:27

Hi everyone. I'm away at the moment without my Shredding DVD. Does anyone know if there is a list of the exercises anywhere so I can carry on - I'm doing level 2. TIA

knottyhair · 11/04/2011 08:43

MistyB, don't know if is any good for you?

haggis01 · 11/04/2011 08:59

stringbean - I feel the same. I'm 48 have the same problem with trousers. I have shredded for a month now and for the past 2 weeks have been 6W6P for three days a week and shredding for 2 or 3 - haven't lost an ounce!Really wanted a bit of a waist back more than anythingelse.
However, I do feel more toned - especially on my legs and I must be stronger because I can do push ups etc again and the cardio bursts are more achievable. So I am going to perservere.

It is harder to lose the weight as you get older (lots and lots of people have told me) and that perhaps combining the exercise with cutting calories is the way to go (although the exercise, damn it, gives you an appetite). However - I have been recording all my food and calories for the past week since Flatmouse and Knottyhair suggested it and I only eat around 1400 calories a day but need to lose about a stone to be in healthy BMI range. I just think it will take longer to see results than for younger people - so don't lose heart. You must be fit running as well - my younger sister (43) did this and built up to marathons and she is now very slim - so I know it can be done.

stringbean · 11/04/2011 09:09

It's good to know it's not just me Haggis. I know I'm whining - I really don't have any weight to lose, and I am very pleased to be toning up - but, like you, I really wanted to try and find my waist again, as opposed to the column I seem to have become in the past few years.

I know to really lose weight I have to severely restrict my calorie intake and it's just too hard to do it long term; I genuinely like salad and veg, but don't want to eat it to the exclusion of everything else! Maybe we just need to focus on/show off the most toned bits (I love my arms and shoulders for example) - maybe that way, no-one will notice the elasticated waists Wink.

MistyB · 11/04/2011 09:29

Thanks Knotty.

knottyhair · 11/04/2011 11:36

Goodness. I've been "doing Jillian" most days since mid Jan, and haven't really ached much until today. Did the whole of NMTZ yesterday, and 4 sections of BFBM this morning, and my "glutes and quads" (I think that's the technical term - thighs and arse?) are bloody killing me. But I weirdly like it Smile.

notyummy · 11/04/2011 12:45

Just at Geneva Airport after a weekend with friends. I got her to download 6W6P on Saturday night znd we did it together with a killer hangover on Sunday morning! I am spreading the Jillian word....
