Bootcamp about 50 mins. Supposed to do it with bands but 1 or 2 kg weights would work. Lots or pressups and a killer abs section. Dh did it this morning and was v sweaty!

chocolateshoes · 28/05/2011 17:59

feeling guilty as I'm having the day off today. Have only had 3 days off since starting the 30 days plus have done loads of exercise over the last 2 days. My legs have had enough and don't want to play any more. So am phoning it in.Blush

BalloonSlayer · 28/05/2011 18:13

Hello everyone!

I haven't shredded or 6W6P-ed since Wednesday due to various things getting in the way BUT this morning I reached my target weight! Yippee!! I am so chuffed. (My target weight was "anything under 9 stone" and I got an 8st 13 1/4 verdict this morning. I can't tell you how delighted I was to see that 8!)

I am so pleased and must try hard not to let the weekend and all the half term trips to McDonalds undo all my good work.

Sorry to brag but I just had to share my little success story. I have been trying to get back under 9 stone for 3 and a half years!

Apologies for all those posts Blush! and well done Balloon.

chocolateshoes · 28/05/2011 20:03

Well done Ballooooooooooooooooooooon!!!! Am so impressed and you know what, was motivated to do today's Shred after all, having posted not long ago that I was having a day off. So thank you! Went back to L1 and did all Nathalie and found it so much easier than the first time around. I guess even if I don't look any trimmer at least I must be fitter which is no bad thing.

Now I think it is time for a glass of white, surely.

Skimummy · 28/05/2011 20:12

I have been dipping in and out of the 30 day shred for ages...think I was on the first shred thread. Anyway, I have ordered a copy of 'Ripped in 30' and am hoping that will motivate me again as running a few times a week is not enough. Watch this space!

notyummy · 28/05/2011 20:30

Ooh Ski- is it out over here now? All the copies I have seen of ripped have been Region 1- have you managed to find a Region 2 copy?

Jacksterbear · 28/05/2011 20:35

WOOOOO HOOOO Balloon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fearnelinen · 28/05/2011 21:16

Well done Balloon!
L1D6, still loving Shred - am terrified about L2 now though!

Skimummy · 28/05/2011 21:28

Alas not yummy it is a region 1 copy - we have an all regions player and it should work on the laptop as well. I am too impatient for my own good!

ThisisaSignofthetimes · 28/05/2011 21:52

balloonslayer well done!!

tooimmature, re the weights, I did a few days on one weight and then just upped them. I tend to have three sets of weights to hand and try to use the highest level (at the moment only 2.5kgs). If I get too tired I just move down a weight. Probably not as easy on shred but with nmtz you get to to the exercises twice, so if I've killed myself first time around I just use the lighter weights second time through.

threestepsforward · 28/05/2011 23:14

ooo, just checking in before bed and... congratulations balloon!!!!!! That is seriously fantastic - you should be very proud, and chuffed I bet Grin

notyummy thanks for the Billy info - might well look at getting the bootcamp dvd if you reckon it packs a similar punch to our Jillian lol

Good night all x

notyummy · 29/05/2011 14:45

I was coached by Libra (a personal trainer who also shreds) and she basically said I should be uping my weights ..... So today I did! Dh and I did levels 1 and 3 and I used5kg throughout, apart from the side lunge and arm raise at the end of level 1 where I dropped down to 3 kg. I wait with baited breath to see if my shoulders ache tomorrow- my arms were a bit sore from an intensive pilates session yesterday!

chocolateshoes · 29/05/2011 17:50

5K!!!!!! Respect!

threestepsforward · 29/05/2011 18:06

Wow notyummy!!! I did L1 today and had to change down from 2Kg to 1.5 for the side lunge bit...5kg??? I am in awe!! I know I shouldn't ask this, because I've already been assured that upping the weights doesn't 'bulk you out', but how do your arms look from using fairly heavy weights? Are they lean and lovely? Grin

How heavy do weights have to be to start bulking up the female of the species? Not sure why I'm pondering as I struggle with 2Kg, but would be interesting to know...

I set out to do L1 and L3 back to back today, but totally caved after L1, couldn't even conceive of doing L3 straight after!!! (although I did do the L3 warm up before bailing). Sorry Jillian! (and surviving a 50 min Billy Whatsit bootcamp seems like a distant nightmare fantasy at this point!)

have a good evening all Smile

notyummy · 29/05/2011 18:11

There are some pics on my profile that weren't taken with arms in mind, but you can actually see my arms in a few of them. I dont have really slim arms but I think they are ok. The one of me taking a pic in my wedding dress (don't ask...) I think shows off my shoulders well .

ThisisaSignofthetimes · 29/05/2011 18:50

My dd,10 decided to do 6w6p with me today. She did all the advanced moves with weights and did not break out in a sweat. I hate her sometimes :o

threestepsforward · 29/05/2011 19:10

You look fab notyummy (notyummy indeed!). Your arms / shoulders / legs look fantastic [threesteps resolves to persevere...].
And your kiddies are adorable Smile
And yes, that certainly reassures me that upping the weights will not bulk me out ...Envy at your legs/calves, mine have always been, ahem, solidly constructed... thank you for sharing the pics!

TooTiredToArgue · 29/05/2011 21:52

well done BalloonSlayer. That's great news and you should feel properly pleased with yourself.

I shredded (L3 with 2kg) weights tonight and feel slightly light headed now. Managed nearly all the Nadalee mountain climbers (though not sure if I'm extending myself enough in them, iyswim) and did some brilliant rock star jumps! I quite like them now. To be honest I think it's because I know it's nearly over at that stage. The end is in sight.....

Bank holiday monday tomorrow. Early shred for me (with DS2 in tow, I imagine).

TooImmature2BMum · 29/05/2011 22:44

In total awe of both Balloon and Notyummy! Respect emoticon.

Have just done L1D7, yay! Was mortified yesterday after slight pelvic floor malfunction during the last cardio bit - jumping jacks and jump rope, I hate you! Approached with caution today and have discovered that if I go easy on the impact, a la Anita, then my pelvic floor can cope. So it looks like I will be phoning it in until my newly started pelvic floor exercises have had time to take effect. Blush

gracelesslady · 30/05/2011 12:56

back to L1 again today - pleasingly hard work. i love the fact that when the cardio comes round i welcome the leaping around as a break!! have been looking at ripped in 30 - does anyone know when it's being released over here/as a region 2 (i think)? was looking at nmtz but as it's 50 mins long i'm not convinced of the likelihood of me doing it as often as i'd like. half an hour is so achievable!

chocolateshoes · 30/05/2011 17:18

agree Graceless - I need to know its only 20-30 mins then I have a chance of fitting it in. Think Ripped in 30 might be the way for me once it is out.

Too Tired - I always wonder if I'm extending as much as Nat on the mountain climbers. But can't really see what she's doing while I'm doing it and don't want to pause. Ho hum
