Gracelesslady - I think I was phoning it in a bit last night, just because I was sort of incredulous at what I was being asking to do! :D

I'm SO in awe of those of you who are through L2 and on to level 3!

TeaOneSugar · 07/05/2011 21:27

I finally got my dvd out of the box and started level 1 today, I'm really going to hurt in the morning.

Dysgu · 07/05/2011 21:59

Can I join in here please? My DVD was sitting on the coffee table for the last few days but I have opened it and completed my first shred exercise this evening.

I am now wondering which bits of me are going to hurt the most in the morning.

BalloonSlayer · 08/05/2011 10:42

Welcome Dysgu!

All of you is going to hurt . . . Grin

Speaking of which, I was going to try L2 of 6W6P today but I have hurt myself. I didn't doit shredding - I think I did it reaching for a glass of wine Grin Blush So I am "on the bench" today. Sad

gracelesslady · 08/05/2011 11:19

L3 D4 - i think it's getting easier!! DS and DD on the sofa cheering for me (and joining in a bit too) helped a lot. off for a shower as v sweaty :o and then a nice Brew after xx

trumpton · 08/05/2011 12:04

L2 D3 . Slight pull between shoulder blades but ok. Glad I have shred buddy (DD) ( grown up ) to do it with she keeps me on the right technique .

LilyPickle · 08/05/2011 13:48

How much abdominal stuff is there is the Shred?

Had a hysterectomy at the end of Jan and wondering if I could get away with doing it yet, or if it is going to mess up my insides Grin

chocolateshoes · 08/05/2011 17:04

Sign of the times - I hate V raises too & really struggle. Am using 3k weights which are DH's dumbells so haven't got time / don't want to stop to undo them and drop them down to 1.5k. As a result I end up doing 1 in 2 of the V raises the 2nd time round. L2 just isn't getting any easier. Think I'm on D8. Keep saying to myself that this has to be doing some good surely...

Jacksterbear · 08/05/2011 18:20

Lily - my understanding is a hysterectomy involves a similar incision to a c section (sorry if I'm wrong)! In which case (having had 2 cs's) I would say you should probably be ok after 3 mths assuming you have had your gp's ok to exercise but the shred does get progressively harder on your stomach and you might want to stick with level one for quite a while first. L1 just has 3x 1 min ab sections, as do Ls 2 and 3 but they (L2 and 3) also have lots of plank work which is very hard on your stomach.

Will be doing L3 day 7 later! Need a PLAN for what happens after the end of the 30 days, any suggestions, what did everyone else do once they reached the end of the Shred? I can't keep up the exercise every day, it's too much, but think I will try to do at least 4 times a week, will stick with shred but mix it up with some other DVDs too I think.

TooImmature2BMum · 08/05/2011 20:58

Graceless, I think you may not be losing inches/weight because there aren't any to lose! I am 5 foot 3 too and I weigh a lot more than 8 stone 12 . I am too ashamed to post how much it is. I think if you want to lose weight you will have to diet, but I don't think you need to at all. 8 stone 12 is not fat in the slightest! I would give anything to be 8 stone 12!

I have been hiding from this thread for the last week because I have not Shredded at all. I have been dieting, walking and swimming and have managed to make my SPD flare up again, so I thought perhaps Shredding wasn't a good plan. Actually, it's not really that - I am just lazy! I am going on holiday on Saturday and am now regretting this. My weekly weigh-in and measuring ought to be tomorrow morning - eek! Maybe once my dinner has gone down I will manage to Shred.

Dysgu · 08/05/2011 22:17

I have just done L1D2 - DD1 was poorly in the night and then we have been sorting that and then out at a BBQ this evening. I was going to have an early night with a book but told myself I HAD to do this.

The worst ache today was in my stomach (abs?) but tonight I really felt it in my arms a lot more than yesterday. Getting up from the mat was tough too - they seem to be all graceful whereas I have to roll onto my knees and pull myself up on the sofa! So I guess I will ache even more tomorrow...

Can't imagine doing this with anyone watching as I read some of you do - I turn into a red, sweaty mess within the first circuit. But that is the first two days done and I feel impressed with myself and hope I can keep it up.

notyummy · 08/05/2011 22:24

Jackster- I do a mixture of shred (generally 2 back to back), 6W6P, BFBM and NMTZ. I also do pilates, yoga (dvds again) and running. I exercise 5 or 6 times a week and try and do a mixture of strength, cardio and pilates/yoga.

hk78 · 08/05/2011 22:32

Hello people

Can I join? I bought my shred dvd last week and have used it for the first time today, level one obviously.

Will check back into this thread daily for inspiration!
Off to bed now cos I feel like jelly Grin

littledolly · 09/05/2011 08:40

L1 D9 completed this morning and actually found it really easy! Didn't shred on Thursday and Friday, as wasn't well, back to it on Saturday and took Sunday off, as that is my plan anyway. I know I am more than ready to move onto Level 2 but from reading the comments on here I am dreading it! Can anyone reassure me that I will be OK on L2?!?

JelliBelli · 09/05/2011 10:44

Jacksterbear I floundered a little at the end of 30DS, doing a few days L1, then some L2 etc until I bought 6W6P and that sorted me for the next 6 weeks. I plan to buy NMTZ soon as my friend is using my 30DS (hurrah!!). At the end of 6W6P I started the Bupa C25K programme which I am currently focussing on with some 6W6P as infill on the rest days.

Dysgu good on you for doing the Shred yesterday despite it being much, much easier to 'leave it till tomorrow'. Congrats and well done on doing it. You may well be aching more today but stick with it, it will go. Just remember the pain in the muscles is them repairing and growing Wink, and it's a good thing Smile. I think being a 'red, sweaty mess' is being a 'proper' exerciser who makes self-improvements!!

hk78 Welcome Smile, hope you're not feeling too achey today - don't worry it's totally normal if you're a previous non-exerciser like most of us. It'll wear off in a few days, honest!

Littledolly of course you will be fine!!! You may be a bit hopeless on D1 but by D10 you'll be heaps better (and with L3 to look forward too). Look at how much progress you've made since L1D1. It'll be a breeze (yeh, right!!!Grin)

trumpton · 09/05/2011 10:50

D5 L2 Help ...it's not getting easier. But I will keep on....and on and on....

After tomorrow's session I will be half way....just wish I could shift more weight.

But white trousers from Easter Sunday are now loose and wearable all day Grin

TooImmature2BMum · 09/05/2011 12:49

Oh my God, I just did level 2 for the first time. I may actually dissolve, I am sweating so hard. I had to drop the weights on the V raises in the last circuit because my arms would not lift anymore! Also, I am unashamedly following Anita on the plank jacks. I have only done 3 days of Level 1 and then stopped for a week, weighed myself this morning and was horrified to still be the same weight as before (I have been dieting and walking! It should have worked!), hence trying Level 2. Oh God, I still have to walk the dog. Quiver.

JelliBelli · 09/05/2011 13:02

Trumpton excellence news and progress with the white trousers!

Tooimmature lol at L2! It is hard isn't it? I found i didn't loss lbs for the first couple of weeks of 30DS but inches. Did you measure? I know I dropped fat as I dropped inches, so i know i was growing muscles at the same time. You are probably doing the same. I am fairly sure others haven't lost lbs from the start (although some have Confused). Stick with it - honestly it will work.

Jacksterbear · 09/05/2011 13:15

Thanks Jelli and notyummy. Might look into buying some more Jillian dvds, now she has me hooked!

L3d8 done. Still no weight loss but jeans are definitely fitting better, tummy more toned, legs slightly less flabby and arms look amazing. can't help being hung up on that half stone I wanted to lose though grrr.

trumpton and 2immature good work on L2, and keep going!

JelliBelli · 09/05/2011 13:39

"can't help being hung up on that half stone I wanted to lose though grrr." Me too!!Grin

TooImmature2BMum · 09/05/2011 14:01

No, I haven't lost any inches this week either (grr!), but then, I wasn't Shredding, just dieting and walking. I have learned my lesson and will Shred with gusto all week. I haven't put last week's inches back on, which is good. I have walked the dog now - time to go have a shower and then think about a very low-calorie lunch!

alarkaspree · 09/05/2011 15:45

Did L1D5 on Friday, but then didn't manage over the weekend because we were away. i will do it today though. At some point...

YouMakeMeWannaLaLa · 09/05/2011 16:26

Phew! Have just done NMTZ for the first time, I really enjoyed it- none of those pesky cardio intervals!

I finished 6W6P on saturday (even managing 3 feckin' weeks of level feckin' two!) and can report mixed results. I think I do have a rock hard six pack but it is well and truly buried under a layer of flab. I'm glad I did it, and it have definately improved my overall fitness, but I was sooo bored by the end of the 6 weeks; I knew every piece of the script by heart! Overall, I don't think I'll do it again as a six week thing (whereas I will definately do 30DS over 30 days) but will throw it on once or twice a fortnight.

I have BFBM which I sometimes do but I can tell already NMTZ will be my favourite; I feel very 'worked-out'. It's definately low on the cardio but that suits me, I can get that from jogging; I still sweated enough and am looking forward to having strangler's arms like Jillian's!

Keep going everyone!

JelliBelli · 09/05/2011 17:21

Oooh! Youmakeme you have inspired me to go right off and order NMTZ.

I agree (almost) entirely on 6W6P. I am glad I did it but i did find L2 Hard Work and a little tiresome towards the end - I refused to phone it in and give up on it though. I too have a buried six pack and have embarked on C25k to unearth it. I am currently doing L1 6W6P on my C25k rest days. But as I say I am off to order NMTZ as I don't like cardio much feel i will get enough cardio from the running.

I quite fancy stranglers arms too as I think they go hand in hand with little smaller than my great big norks and I want a pair of those.

knottyhair · 09/05/2011 17:29

Another vote for NMTZ here, definitely my favourite. Just need to get rid of this fecking cough so I can get going again Sad.
