'inspired' even!

knottyhair · 06/05/2011 06:10

I had trouble with the last strength move in L3 and took advice from someone here (sorry, can't remember who!) and bought some weightlifting gloves! They're padded on the heel bit of the hand and have sorted the problem for me. I think they were about a tenner? Hi, CJMommy.

BalloonSlayer · 06/05/2011 08:21

threestepsforward I just don't use the weights on that last strength move. It hurts my hands too much to use them. [wuss emoticon]

I am struggling to find the time for shredding at the moment, but still carrying on as I love love LOVE what it is doing to my body. [vain]

chocolateshoes · 06/05/2011 08:40

Franch - its the do-able 20 mins thing that is keeping me going as I was struggling to fit exercise into my day. So far have missed 3 days and am now on L2D5. Not sure if I can see any difference but can certailnly feel it - my body fits stronger iykwim. Managed Zumba last night as well and am about to go for swim - unusually am only working 3 days this week so can fit some bonus sport in. It must be doing some good surely. I have to be 'beach-ready' for the school holidays but like my food too much to calorie count!!

Momentarynamechange · 06/05/2011 09:31

Balloon me too Grin. I'm actually pretty amazed how much Shredding has changed my body, and without any dieting, so if you added a diet into the mix the results must be...wow! My diet is generally pretty good, but I certainly haven't been calorie counting.

Still not so pleased about my arms but I'll concede the arms for my new bum and waist!

Does anyone know what that dent is she raves about in the final circuit is? On Nathalie, "if you want that, you do it like this...". I'm never looking at the screen at that point so never see it Grin

Welcome CJMommy, let us know how you get on when the DVD arrives Smile

conquita · 06/05/2011 10:03

threesteps - she points at Nadalees ass and says that is hot right...

BalloonSlayer · 06/05/2011 10:17

That's the dent in the side of your bum that fit men people often have. I have got a sort of crease/indentation now. It's not a dent yet. But I still admire it.

Momentarynamechange · 06/05/2011 10:28

lol Conquita!

you go Balloonslayer with your dent! I think I know what she means now, it's like a massive dimple on the side of the bum? Hmm, will have to check my derriere for dentage later

right, off to prepare for our boiler to be moved. It's ancient and it may not like it, fingers crossed it fires up again.

Hopefully I will manage a Shred before my friend comes later.

Hope everyone has a good day Smile

knottyhair · 06/05/2011 10:34

Was planning on doing NMTZ this morning, but woke up with sore throat and sinus pain - feel crap, and hate not being able to exercise. Never thought I'd say that...

TooTiredToArgue · 06/05/2011 12:46

Thanks for clearing up the dimple/dent thing. I've been wondering the same thing too. I'm never looking at the screen at that point - I'm either glaring at the carpet or closing my eyes at the pain! Grin

gracelesslady · 06/05/2011 12:46

balloon, conquita, threesteps and everyone else who's enjoying their new-found gorgeousness - i can't wait for shredding to have some impact on my wobbly bits! you give me hope and you should feel so proud of yourselves :o.

i've been doing exercise (shredding or davina) 5 out of 7 days every week since March 2nd and still no inch loss :( i'm trusting that if i keep at it, the muscle that (surely!!) must be getting bigger and stronger underneath everything, will emerge, eventually. and hopefully before the end of august when we're going on holiday.

keep at it!! xx

notyummy · 06/05/2011 12:58

Gah! No indent here despite YEARS - years I tell you - of exercise. Bloody pear shape. I do have a 6 pack though. There are some consolations.....

I will brave Jillian tomorrow. Did a 9 mile run today. The flies were out in force. Most annoying.

chocolateshoes · 06/05/2011 13:01

ouf just done L2D6 shattered! its not getting any easier!!!!

Joby1970 · 06/05/2011 13:05

Think it might have been me that recommended the weightlifting gloces - they really do help on the strenghth exercises on LVL3> plus now i go to the gym & do the free weights there too.

knitknack · 06/05/2011 18:54

L2D1 - eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek faints

knottyhair · 06/05/2011 18:56

Lol knitknack! It is definitely the hardest level.

Momentarynamechange · 06/05/2011 19:16

L2 is a bugger knitknack Grin Well done for getting through it!

Knottyhair hope you feel a bit better now.

Gracelesslady keep at it and I'm sure things will fall into place. If you haven't lost any inches I'm sure it shouldn't be long as you're doing everything right by the sounds of it, and you'll definitely be building lots of lovely lean muscle in the meantime Smile

Well boiler is moved, and works! I heaved a sigh of relief at that but will be a bit jittery about it for the next few days.

L3 done! Friend is on her way and putting all thoughts of the building site that is my house of my mind for the next 48 hours...

No Shredding for me most probably until Monday. Hope everyone has a great weekend Smile

Momentarynamechange · 06/05/2011 19:18

out of my mind - not my house of my mind, that sounds weirdly non-sensically spiritual!

gracelesslady · 06/05/2011 23:25

knitknack - i phoned it in for the last few days of L2 as i hated it so much! moved onto L3 and while i might have crushed fingers (unless i investigate wrist weights/weightlifting gloves) i like it a lot. possibly my favourite!

thanks threesteps. it can't hurt anyway can it?! have been wondering about a diet of some sort - i don't really believe diets work and have always avoided them, but really am beginning to wonder whether i need to rethink. i'm 5 foot 3, weigh 8 stone 12 (last time i checked) but it's my bum that seems to contain most of my body weight. am a total pear shape. after first two babies, once i stopped breast feeding, the weight dropped off me but this time it's clearly not going to happen by itself :( i usually lurk around the 8 stone sort of mark and you'd not think 12lbs would be such a problem, but i feel so flabby and bleurgh... anyway, sorry for whinge. i'm sure shredding will work Hmm. honest Wink

ThisisaSignofthetimes · 07/05/2011 00:40

Been offline for a few days but managed to keep shredding, getting more used to level 2 now, some of it seems easier, can still only managed v raises with 1kg weights, everything else ok with 2 or 2.5kg. Don't feel like am making progress with that exercise, very frustrating. Oh well, will do measuring malarkey tomorrow and see if anything has disappeared.

ThisisaSignofthetimes · 07/05/2011 09:55

A question for you, I have just been given some Amazon vouchers for my birthday, which JM DVD would you recommend apart from 30ds? I know some are only available as an import so I wouldn't want those. Thanks.

No weight loss this week but 1.75 inches have gone, so it must be working!

knottyhair · 07/05/2011 10:07

I've got NMTZ, BFBM and 6W6P. BFBM is mostly cardio (no weights) and is 50 mins if you do the whole thing including warm-up and cool down. It consists of 7 x 6 minute circuits, so you can choose to just do certain ones if you're short of time. NMTZ is the same set-up but is more strength based stuff, which I prefer. 6W6P has 2 levels, both around 35 mins including warm up and cool down, and I really like this one as well. I've only done L2 once and it was really hard! But I know other people on this thread have done it more regularly - I'm sure they'll be along soon. L1 uses one weight for some moves, and also has a lot of plank-based mat work. HTH.

TooTiredToArgue · 07/05/2011 10:23

Morning all

Have just shredded (Level 3, Day 12?), and am sweating like a pig. Felt harder than ever before. Maybe because I gave myself a day off yesterday and had 2 glasses of wine as a Friday night treat.

Also made difficult by DS2 insisting on doing his 'exercises' with me. He's very good at 'running and jumping', but he struggles with the sit ups, bless him. And how's this for most random comment made, mid shred? 'Mum, I'm wearing Buzz Lightyear pants!' "Oh, that's nice," I grunted, consumed by mountain climbing agony.

Right. Off to shower. Have a good day everyone. Smile

notyummy · 07/05/2011 10:55

I have just done L2 of 6W6P with 3 kg weights and can agree with Knotty that it is hard! Never quite burning in agony like I do on a couple of shred sections, but sweatier than the shred. BFBM is good because no weights so you cantake it away with you.

ThisisaSignofthetimes · 07/05/2011 12:05

Like the sound of NMTZ as I enjoy the strength training, I assume with that one you use weights?
