2011 Paul McKenna P3 - the march towards skinny jeans continues

Well the old thread was getting mordibly obese wasn't it? Grin

Welcome new people and people who've been here for a while, this is the definitive Paul McKenna support thread.

Whether you are dribbling over his Paulness or wibbling over pudding, we're here to listen, slightly mock you and tell you to step away from the scales.

The Paul Mckenna plan is not a diet but a way of teaching yourself to eat slowly and consciously and achieve the body you've always dreamed of.

There will be no diet foods on this thread, no starvation and no beating ourselves up because ^lifes' too bloody short to weigh a carrot and we'd far rather be doing something incredible instead!

I am considering doing this and reading some of your successes I feel quite positive about it.

Would like to lose 1-2 stone by the summer, have made a start this week losing 4lbs by following ww propoints but am finding it bloody awful and its making me obssess over food - I would so love to just eat naturally.

The thing I wanted to ask is how would this work when you do a job where you have set times for meals? I am a teacher and leave home by 7.15 on work days and have lunch break between 12 and 1. The trouble is, I'm not always hungry first thing - so does that mean I shouldn't eat breakfast? Then what do I do at "lunch" time if I am not hungry? I can't just eat whenever suits me - I have to base everything around a timetable

UrsulaBuffay · 21/03/2011 15:07

That's a hard one and I find that I end up eating at lunch time at work when I'm not hungry just cos the canteen's open/other people are eating. I know Missmakesstuff is a teacher also so she may be able to help, sure she had the same issues.

I'm really inspired too by everyone's losses, if I'd actually stuck to it I could've been one of em Grin

Not doing too badly today.

whomovedmychocolate · 21/03/2011 16:12

Solo - happy birthday. Please stop referring to yourself as fat - you have to like yourself to get what you want here. You are not fat - you are in transition and becoming thin - do you look at cakes and think humpf that's just eggs and flour that is? :)

I hope you enjoyed your lunch :)

3ismylot welcome to the fray. Sounds like you've got it already :) What is your objective here? How much do you want to weigh or what size are you going for?

Proud2bFeminine Confused - hey it works, are you cross because it's popular or what? Confused :)

whomovedmychocolate · 21/03/2011 16:23

franch - if aversion doesn't work and the tapping doesn't work, what are you getting out of eating chocolate that you need? I used to find chocolate very comforting but I think I rationalised it and now it's not so appealing. Besides which it just doesn't feel as good to eat chocolate if the price is to be fat.

mycatoscar if you flick back to part two of this thread you will see a long discussion on eating at work at set times. Hopefully one of the others who has this problem will pop by and offer other advice though. :)

Hi WMMC I am aiming to lose about 4st or get to a size 12 intitially and then go from there, I managed to lose 7 1/2 stone back in 2008 using a vlcd and was a 12 and could squeeze into the odd 10 and was pretty happy with my shape but have since had twins so not really sure what state I can get to yet lol
My cds arrived today so gonna listen to one tonight, which would be best to start with, 'The Secrets Of Naturally Thin People' or 'Programme Your Mind To Slim Your Body' ??
I didnt do so well at lunch Im not gonna beat myself up as its gonna be a learning process Smile

Franch thanks for the welcome Smile

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 21/03/2011 16:59

Yay, welcome to the new people :) I have two of my friends who were doing SW to give Pauling a try. One seems to have taken to it brilliantly, the other is struggling (I dont think she is taking it seriously at all).

3ismylot - start with Programme your Mind, that seems to be geared towards people starting out. Secrets of Naturally Thin People seems to be more geared to those already on their journey. I dont think it matters too much though, as Paul said at the seminar start with whichever you want.

3ismylot · 21/03/2011 17:16

HowToLookGoodGlaikit Thanks will start with programme your mind once the kids are in bed Grin
Im stupidly exicted about following this lol

solo · 21/03/2011 17:18

Thank you!!! lunch was lovely ~ non conscious Blush, but lovely!!!
My friend and I are going to begin again tomorrow. We're going to text one another daily and talk every few days in order that we are 'there' for each other. Wish us luck.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 21/03/2011 17:27

forgot to wish you a Happy Birthday Solo :)

BellaCullen · 21/03/2011 17:32

Hi everyone,
can I join too.Your thread just stood out for me in the weight loss club section and all your stories have finally giving me the kick Ive been waiting for to try and lose weight. Started PM two years ago after seeing his show but then got pregnant with ds2 and then forgot about it all. Am desperate to lose about 3 stone. Have ordered the book again as cant find it anywhere,so hopefully will get it in next few days.

Had a good day so far eating porridge and leaving some and then had coronation chicken in my sandwich as really wanted it and didnt finish second slice as was full.<img loading="lazy" class="inline-flex mumsnet-emoji" alt="Smile" src="https://www.mumsnet.com/build/assets/smile-iCO8d7ST.png"> Only had a bit of chocolate after and an apple.Am amazed that I havent been as hungry and not been stufing my face all day.Am still bf so find am starving all the time but think not drinking enough so made sure whenever I thought am hungry just had a drink instead.

Sorry to go on a bit just been really inspired by you all and been trying to motivate myself for a year now with no success.Shock

onesandwichshort · 21/03/2011 19:44

Hello everyone,

WMMC - thanks for the reassurance re the CDS. Of course my iPod has now just gone and broken, but I think I can get them onto my phone in the next couple of days. In the meantime I will read the book when I get a moment.

Happy Birthday Solo.

BsshBossh · 21/03/2011 19:47

Oh lots of new people - hello all Smile. BellaCullen - isn't it amazing how little we eat when we really cue in to hunger? I am shocked now at how much I was able to put away when I didn't listen to my body but only listened to my head.

BellaCullen · 21/03/2011 20:12

Happy Birthday Solo.

BsshBossh youre right there put less on my plate than I normally would and still left 1/4 of it.Still not completely sure when Im full but that will come with time hopefully.

Just had to reorder the book as it was out of stock so ordered the newest version with CD and DVD instead, also ordered the 90 day journal.Cant wait to get them and start reading and listening to the CD.Will then put CD on my phone too not sure when Ill find a good time to listen to them as ds2 hardly naps and probably too tired at night.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 21/03/2011 20:33

A wee tip that seems to be working for me - use a plate for everything you eat! I am doing it even for snacks, so that I feel like it was an eating occasion. It helps me with my fullness indicator too.

Welcome bella :)

whomovedmychocolate · 21/03/2011 23:29

I am using the kids little plates. How we got into this idea that people needed twelve inch plates is beyond me frankly. Even a twelve stone man working manual labour probably doesn't need more than a 10 inch plate FFS.

OP posts:
HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 22/03/2011 06:53

I only use side plates now too. our normal plates seem so huge to me now! My food wouldnt even fill one third of it!

BellaCullen · 22/03/2011 10:04

Good morning Smile.

Weighed myself and was quite a lot heavier than I thought a bit depressing but even more reason to change it all.
Had porridge for breakfast but could only manage about 3 spoons as tasted like glue paste. It's also quite hard to chew 20 luckily had apple and strawbeeries with it.So think will have to find something else to eat in morning.
Ds2 finally asleep so attempting some excersise on wii fit.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 22/03/2011 11:52

Hope everyone has a fab day Grin

JuicyOlive · 22/03/2011 13:11

Hello - sorry I've not been posting much on this thread. Still Pauling with mixed results, but I'm getting more focussed this week as I had been letting things slip a bit. I think I've been spurred on my HowTo's success. I'm glad this thread is here - there is a danger I would give up without the support.

whomovedmychocolate · 22/03/2011 13:39

Afternoon all - well my house is officially on the market, I signed off the proofs today so it'll all be online overnight so tomorrow you can all have a nose if you like Wink

Spent yesterday evening in casualty - dislocated finger, elbow and wrist - nice. All sorted now though. Damn hypermobility. Anyway, onwards and upwards. Everyone have a lovely day not and JuicyOlive - quitting is not allowed all right. You deserve to be thin to add to your existing beautiful! :)

well, day 1 nearly done

I had special k for breakfast and only ate a small bowl, surprisingly filling

jacket potato out for lunch had cheese and coleslaw, felt well guilty for choosing that topping but ate slowly and only managed half so I suppose that makes it okay

then for tes, pasta bake, again didnt finish, just ate slowly and drunk water with the meal - I think that helped me slow down and relaise whether I wanted the next bite

very glad I stopped eating each time, because a little later I felt satisfied instead of my usual bloated feeling

am determined to do this now
