2011 Paul McKenna P3 - the march towards skinny jeans continues

Well the old thread was getting mordibly obese wasn't it? Grin

Welcome new people and people who've been here for a while, this is the definitive Paul McKenna support thread.

Whether you are dribbling over his Paulness or wibbling over pudding, we're here to listen, slightly mock you and tell you to step away from the scales.

The Paul Mckenna plan is not a diet but a way of teaching yourself to eat slowly and consciously and achieve the body you've always dreamed of.

There will be no diet foods on this thread, no starvation and no beating ourselves up because ^lifes' too bloody short to weigh a carrot and we'd far rather be doing something incredible instead!

nevergoogle · 19/03/2011 01:58

bloody right wmmc!

whomovedmychocolate · 19/03/2011 07:09

Actually I am serious - sooner or later I'm going to have to go into the wardrobe that time forgot and clear out the too big ball gowns and dresses. Plus I've got big jeans, soft yoga trousers etc. all too blooming big. Shame really as I've hardly worn a lot of them but ho hum. Have only just got round to getting rid of all my maternity dresses (which were a size 10 Shock - I was sure I was fatter than that).

ktwiltshire - pushing away bad emotions works better when you are standing up - go do something else that includes standing up next time, it might make it easier. :)

WMMC you kept THAT quiet bloody well done!! IKWYM about the wardrobe i can't get into the mindset of not needing my 14s!!And having loose 12s!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 19/03/2011 09:33

WMMC, wow! Its your great successes that keep me going, knowing I could be at your point one day :)

Im still waiting to get out of a size 22 Envy

ktwiltshire · 19/03/2011 10:19

WMMC - your doing brilliant, i think at a size 10 in monsoon you can safely stop trying to loose weight and just stay where you are!!

Im still attempting to get out of my size 18s.

Emotions are running a bit high in my house this morning, DH is tired beyond belief and keeps snapping at me and the kids, so i have sent him upstairs to get some sleep as he has to work tonight and doesnt get to have an early night like I will.

Looking forward to a walk with the kids later, also DD1 has a party to go to, pretty sure she will want my step dad to take her (they are bessie mates lol).

anyway....busy wathcing mr tumble....:-)

Hello, can I come and join in - and perhaps get your advice?

I went down a good trousers size a year and a half ago with PM and loved it - and I think I stopped because the rate of weight loss was almost scaring me (I'd got all of the baby weight off and perhaps the thought of being thinner than normal was too much).

I've now been trying to get on the bandwagon again since Jan, and it's just not working. I find it really hard to relax into the CDs and end up thinking about something else altogether, and I'm not losing any weight. How do I get through this kind of blockage and get going again?

ppeatfruit · 19/03/2011 11:44

Onesandwich Try googling Paul Mckenna I Can Make You Thin it has vids and good advice, it got me going again, plus the chew 20 times is brill. BTW Welcome!

ppeatfruit · 19/03/2011 11:48

Howto what thread were you on? I'll back you up on it (I like a bit of a disagreement on here Wink) they're only jealous IMO Grin

blinder · 19/03/2011 12:38

Marking my place Smile

whomovedmychocolate · 19/03/2011 14:13

onesandwichshort (incidentally one sandwich short of a picnic may well be enough for lunch and definitely will help with the smaller trousers thing Wink).

I can understand why you got scared - it IS scarey when you realise the only thing standing in your way is YOU. Your life changes when you weigh less, you are not invisible anymore. People look at you as a woman FFS! Men may even try and chat you up. But hey you can handle all that (you might even like it) Wink But in answer to your question: first of all start with the end in mind - work out exactly what you want to weigh or what size you wish to be - perhaps you have an outfit you want to fit perfectly, perhaps for you, it's walking into a certain shop and knowing a certain size will fit. For me it's being 125 pounds (I'm currently hovering around 140 so I have a way to go yet).

If you are getting distracted then perhaps you need to listen at a different time. Early evening can be good if you have small kids, put them to bed, and have a lie down - yes I know you have lots to do, don't worry, it'll all still be there when you are done and it's only 25 minutes - you probably spend that decompressing when the little buggers fall asleep Wink

And let us know when you get stuck and we'll try and suggest things.

If you have trigger foods you seem out of control with there are suggestions on previous threads which can help you. But we're all in the same boat and chugging along at our own speeds and whether you do it fast or slow, once you set your mind to where you want to go - you'll get there. :)

OP posts:
whomovedmychocolate · 19/03/2011 14:15

howtolookgoodglaikit - you know bloody well you'll get there. Just keep on going. You have more weight to lose than me but in a year, I'll be thin, you'll be thin, we'll be those supercillious buggers feeling sorry for the fatties in the cafe picking at horrid low fat muck while we tuck into the carrot cake because we like it and we are hungry :)

OP posts:
HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 19/03/2011 14:18

WMMC you always make me smile with your posts Grin thank you!

ppeatfruit - I knida killed the thread with my outrage lol

whomovedmychocolate · 19/03/2011 14:38

Another way to look at it is this: had you continued with the way you were eating, within the last month you may well have progressed to a size 24! Shock You've put the brakes on all those habits which frankly, will kill you long term, and replaced them with healthier habits which will improve your health, wealth and happiness. :)

AmpleBosom · 19/03/2011 19:50

Hello everybody, sound like you are all doing really well. I on the other hand have crashed and burned but i'm getting back on it as of now!

It's my own fault for letting other people piss me off, i've allowed that to give me an excuse to not try.

I will be bloody thin Grin

Despite my pathetic attempts people are still asking me if i've lost weight. I know i can do it and the sad truth is I am the obstacle Blush

franch · 20/03/2011 08:21

What are you all eating for breakfast these days?

ppeatfruit · 20/03/2011 10:26

franch I vary between porridge oats and molasses or apple, pear, date, ground almonds lemon and pear juice smoothie or 2 slices spelt or rye toast and pnut butter and coffee.

nevergoogle · 20/03/2011 10:46

boiled egg
or fruit and yoghurt
or toast and honey
or muesli.
on friday i had a bacon roll though.
and this morning a bagel with peanut butter as going out on my bike. (the banana in my pocket didn't get eaten)

have gone right off coco pops as they go mooshy if you eat them slowly.

whomovedmychocolate · 20/03/2011 12:28

Amplebosom welcome back to the equally ample bosoms of your co-conspirators Wink

Stop being so down on yourself - how long have you been overweight? It may just be that for you it takes a bit longer to get it. :)

Franch this morning I had cereal, but I have whatever I fancy really.

OP posts:
arfur · 20/03/2011 12:54

I never eat breakfast as I'm never really hungry till late morning/lunch time even if I run straight after school run altho today that is probably due to an accident with a bag of mini eggs last night Blush

arfur · 20/03/2011 13:00

Weighed myself this am and was gutted that I was same as last time until I went to fill in my journal and realised I'm not due to weigh for 2 more days as it's every 15 days in the book - not that I'm likely to lose anything in 2 days but once again it has made me rethink my normal pattern of weighing in on a set day so am feeling ok now and I'm still 6 pounds lighter than I was 28 days ago and definitely fitter and feeling better about myself

BsshBossh · 20/03/2011 14:09

Franch - breakfast is usually one slice of wholemeal, mixed seeded bread with one poached egg or one slice of ham on top as I like how protein keeps me full for longer and so I can keep going until lunch without the need to stop to snack. However, I'm also partial to a serving of porridge with a dollop of honey or two Weetabix with skimmed milk. The other day I had a slice of organic ham with a thin slice of Port Salut cheese and a handful of grapes and that kept me full until 2pm!

BsshBossh · 20/03/2011 14:11

It's amazing how much more energy I have these days now I'm not so stuffed full of food. I can now walk as fast as my DH when we go out for walks and I also find myself running up and down the stairs without even thinking about it - just because I feel like it.
