Is down, as in weight! Good luck to us all!

Good luck everyone for tomorrow.

puff · 31/10/2005 10:22

I stayed the same this week! Must try harder next week. This usually happens with me though, I get a good weight loss 1 week and nothing the next, then lose again.

How's everyone else on the road to Christmas?

OP posts:
Saker · 31/10/2005 12:37

Hi I'm back from my weekends away etc and should have a pretty clear run until Christmas! So can I join you to try and lose say 10lbs by Christmas?

puff · 31/10/2005 15:38

Great Saker - welcome back !

OP posts:
melbob · 31/10/2005 19:57

Hi welcome back Saker. Well done Puff. I stayed the same which is a bit of a downer but I do feel a bit pre-mestrual so maybe thats why? How's everyone else done?

Did you haev a goood weekend away Saker?

puff · 31/10/2005 20:35

Probably melbob, I never lose at that time.

Let's hope for a good weight loss next week.

Hi Melbob and Puff - sound like you are both doing well still.

I was away both weekends of half term - the first weekend was lovely (Dh and I only while my parents looked after the kids). Second weekend okay but more stressful with a 5 hour drive to Newcastle and back in 3 days, sharing an airbed with Ds2 and his sharp toenails and the general stresses and strains of spending time with my parents in law.

puff · 03/11/2005 10:34

Just seeing how everyone is doing. I think I've already lost some weight this week thank goodness.

This is good weather for hearty soups - good job cos it's all I seem to be cooking at the mo!

OP posts:
Saker · 03/11/2005 14:13

I've been sticking to it well so far. I found a recipe for carrot and butter bean souffle in a cookbook and thought that sounded pretty GI so had it for lunch. It was okay but Ds2 wasn't impressed and I had to cook him two eggs instead. Back to soup for us then tomorrow .

melbob · 03/11/2005 20:10

Hi

I am not doing well at all. Weighed myself this am and no change, had vv bad day GI and calorie wise. No real excuse had vv bad night with DS who is teething. Absolute shattered for work today, and was in a 9 hour meeting. Have eaten (brace yourselves)

2 slices granary toast and a small banana for breakfast plus 2 cups tea.

2 choc digestives, 1 ordinary digestive
small tub tzatziki and crudites
several finger sandwiches of various kinds
one satsuma
roast lamb peas, carrots
Strawberries

Not good at all. Need to focus and remotivate myself quickly.

Well done to both of you two though

Saker · 03/11/2005 21:22

Hi Melbob

That doesn't sound so terrible especially in terms of calories. Just pretend you were doing Weightwatchers or something instead of GI today!

puff · 04/11/2005 08:56

Hey melbob, Saker is right - it's not so bad. Sounds like you are very tired, needing energy boosts and that's when we reach for a biscuit and if there are sandwiches around cannot resist them! Were the sandwiches in the meeting? I'd have been grabbing them too faced with being holed up in a 9 hour meeting after a sleepless night.

I actually think that in the circumstances you're doing well - I don't mind if I stay the same when I know I've had a hard week for various reasons. It remind me what a "maintenance" level is and that I still have my eating under control. These are good things, so don't get down hearted.

Also, a stone by Christmas would be nice, and we can still aim for that, but as long as the trend is still downwards, that is all positive .

Thanks both for your support it really helps.

had better day yesterday and today. Will wait for truth on Monday.

puff · 07/11/2005 09:18

Ok, lost 2 lbs this week - v pleased as I stayed the same last week, so 4.5 lbs so far on the road to Christmas.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

I bought some oatcakes this week - they are called "Nairn" oatcakes and have a low GI label on them. Just thought I'd pass the info on. I bought them in Waitrose, but think Tesco sell them too.

OP posts:
Saker · 07/11/2005 10:11

Well done Puff; you are doing very well as ever . The oatcakes sound nice - are they very calorific?

I lost 2lbs this week.

puff · 07/11/2005 10:14

Well done too Saker !

They are about 50 cals each, so not something to go overboard on, but it's nice to have a couple with a little hummus and crudites.

OP posts:
Saker · 07/11/2005 10:43

Mmmmm sound good, I'm hungry already - only 1.5hs until lunch .

melbob · 07/11/2005 20:06

Well done both. I have put on 3 since yesterday morning. Have belly ache and nausea!!

Nairn oatcakes are great and they do sell them at Tescos and hey are much nicer than Tescos own make.

puff · 07/11/2005 22:01

Poor you melbob - hope you feel better soon.

OP posts:
Saker · 07/11/2005 22:34

Oh Melbob, take care of yourself, I think you have been working too hard. Hope you feel better soon.

piffle · 08/11/2005 10:27

I'm lodging back on the loss trail.
Lost 2kgs earlier this yr and have kept it off, now would like to lose another 3-4 kgs slowly but surely
I'm joining the gym next week, I've never really exercised a lot before although I walk a lot.
Bit scared actually
Puff immense respect to you!

puff · 08/11/2005 13:42

Well done for keeping the weight you lost off piffle !

Don't worry about the gym - I was worried too when I went back after many years away, but slowly and steadily brought my fitness back to a respectable level. Just take it easy at first and increase time on different equipment and machines gradually.

OP posts:
puff · 09/11/2005 09:19

Just wondering if you are feeling any better melbob ?

OP posts:
melbob · 09/11/2005 21:10

Hi

Thanks for messages and well dne piffle. Been working long hours plus DS teething (we think) so a few broken nights. Weigh this am back to last weeks don't know what the three pound gain was about.

Think I need to think about some of the psychological stuff around my weight, the weight I am now is were I have got stuck before and looks like I am again.
