Hi All
Ive just joined SW again today as I felt that I need to get control of my weight.

I stood on the scales a it flashed up 17st 4lb. All I could say to the consultant was my bathroon scales are well out Blush

I cannot believe that I let myself go that much...

So the all the hard work starts now Grin

Could I join you without joining SW?

ChilliKnickers · 19/02/2011 15:34

Course Dilly.

I doesn't matter how your losing it as long as your losing it. Ive just chose SW as I know it works for me. Just some else looking at those scales scares the life out of me. The smaller the number the happier I'll be.

I have aswell, have lost 5lbs since Monday on Dukan Diet, did WW for over a year and lost a max of 22lbs in that time and then started yo yoing, I wanted something that I didn't have to write down and point.

DaffadownDilly · 19/02/2011 15:40

I did lipotrim diet about 3 years ago. Lost five stone and have pretty much put it all back on Sad

Even three stone would be fine with me.

ChilliKnickers · 19/02/2011 16:01

Well done fivegomad.
Ive never heard of the Durkin Diet.
I haven't even contemplated WW as I havent the time of weighing and counting. SW is quite simple for me to remember and the portion control isnt a strict.

Dilly same as me I did loose 2 stone with sw but have put it all back on plus another stone and a half.

I have another incentive have brought my wedding dress in the size I thought I was.
Does it fit ... No it doesnt. Stupid I know.

If I dont loose the weight £400 down the drain

Good luck Chilli.

Dilly, I am not a fan of replacement diets at all.

Dukan is low fat, low carb and high protein, no weighing, no pointing, just sticking to some basic rules.

DaffadownDilly · 19/02/2011 16:38

I know five, it has made me feel even worse than I did before I started it. I feel so mad at myself, but I really haven't eaten cakes etc every day.

I am going to go the low carb/more excercise route. Just would be good to have other people to hand hold with/encourage each other.

Good incentive chilli Smile

DaffadownDilly · 19/02/2011 16:39

juneybean · 19/02/2011 16:40

I desperately need to lose weight but I hate dieting and I hate exercising....

I'm managing to swimming once a week, will try and make this at least twice if I can.

I'll join you all if I may?

Lost around 6 stones already but need to lose more...around another 6 but I'm aiming for 4 to begin with.

I'm supposed to be calorie counting and exercising. Exercise isn't a problem as I actually enjoy the gym (most of the time) but, unfortunately, I also enjoy shovelling chocolate down my gullet like its going out of fashion...Blush

So, I'm in...I need someone to kick my virtual ass from time to time and keep me away from the Malteser Bunnies...

ChilliKnickers · 19/02/2011 17:57

Wow Lucy fantastic, 6 stones how long did that take you.

Will gladly keep you away from the bunnies if you keep me away from the pringles and chilli hummus Grin.

Lucyintheskywithdiazepam · 19/02/2011 18:11

Mmmmmmm....chilli hummus.

Or any hummus....

Ok, I may be a rubbish diet buddy Grin

Ummm....I don't really know how long it's taken me as it's kind of gone in fits and starts. The first 4 stone came off really quite quickly...in just under 6 months. The next 2 has been slower progress but, although I have not lost as much weight, I have lost more inches because of all the gym work...I've been doing a lot of resistence training over the last 8 monmths or so so have built quite a lot of muscle. Which means the scales don't show the loss so much, but my clothes do...iykwim?

I need to measure as well as weigh. Haven't measured in months so I must update and try and remember to do it more regularly.

DaffadownDilly · 19/02/2011 18:49

Well done Lucy! That is fantastic!

Mine are vodka and wine bunnies, which lead on to anything savoury in the cupboards bunnies.

How do we start then?

juneybean · 19/02/2011 19:01

I might try the SW, do you think I could do it without going to the weekly class?

Lucyintheskywithdiazepam · 19/02/2011 19:22

Juney, if you know the theory, then I'm sure you can do it without going to the weekly class. However, if the thought ofthe weekly weigh-in is what spurs you on to stick with it then maybe you'd get better results from going to some classes...maybe every few weeks?

DaffadownDilly...wine used to be my thing. Oh, how I miss it. I still have 1 or 2 glasses a week but alcohol was one of the things I cut back on dramatically and I do miss looking forward to swilling a bottle or 2 or 3 on a Friday night.

fivegomadindorset · 19/02/2011 20:11

Wine is my downfall aswell, gin and slimlime tonic makes a good replacement.

DaffadownDilly · 19/02/2011 20:23

Is vodka and diet coke just as good?

AvengingGerbil · 19/02/2011 20:27

What is SW, please? I would love to join you - the scales just tipped 18st - but I need to get next week out of the way first. I have exams. Therefore I have crisps and chocolate.

But I also need help!

fivegomadindorset · 19/02/2011 20:36

Yes it is, spirits have half the calories as wine as long as they are combined with diet stuff.

DaffadownDilly · 19/02/2011 21:02

Is that per glassful, or a shot of spirits have half the calories of the equivalent measure of wine?

I am still cutting down.

fivegomadindorset · 19/02/2011 21:05

A pub measure which actually lasts me longer than wine, and I can stop after one.

AG - sw is slimming world.

AvengingGerbil · 19/02/2011 21:08

Thanks Five. Does it involve a particular regime? Or just (Ha!) eating less?
