Hi All
Ive just joined SW again today as I felt that I need to get control of my weight.

I stood on the scales a it flashed up 17st 4lb. All I could say to the consultant was my bathroon scales are well out Blush

I cannot believe that I let myself go that much...

So the all the hard work starts now Grin

Ok I'm back - haven't posted since the beginning of the thread but have had a major wobbly week - after my flying start 3 weeks ago I just couldn't get in the zone however I'm back now and on the straight and narrow again.
Lovely to see all of the wonderful losses - I hope I can say the same a week from now :)

juneybean · 01/03/2011 11:55

I've got a secret to weight loss.... fall in love.

9lbs off...

eden263 · 01/03/2011 14:46

Lol Juney, well done!

A relationship breakdown seems to work well too, at the other end of the spectrum...I once lost a stone in a week when my b/f unexpectedly dumped me! Though I recommend the falling in love route of the two! Wink

I've been feeling really nauseous since last night, no idea why, so have only managed to force a bit of marmite on toast down today, though not sure if that will aid or abet weight loss as you're meant to eat properly, not not eat! Confused

ChilliKnickers · 03/03/2011 10:35

Juney well done 9lb

I had been really well this week untill I eyed up the wine.

Welcome back rosie

Weigh in tommorrow. I have no idea if I have loss anything.
My bathroon scales have a mind of their own. I can lose 5 pound and put it on and add more on. I really should buy another set.
Hope everyone is doing well this week.

Hello :) A bit late to it but can I join too?

Need to go back to SW on Monday after a up and down few weeks, my Nan passing away and now my 4 month old DD has chicken pox. Around 7st Blush to loose but determined to do it. Going to aim to have a good weekend so the damage is limited on Monday.

fivegomadindorset · 04/03/2011 21:54

Found you all.

Chilli, I have scales like that, found some good ones which don't seem to vary so much Grin

eden263 · 05/03/2011 14:37

Feeling a bit demoralised today. Lost 7lb last week, and have stuck to it religiously again this week (massive achievement for me due to aforementioned bingeing probs) and have lost a pathetic 1lb. What's the point? All that effort and not being able to eat nice stuff (not to mention the price of all the fruit and veg!) for nothing. This is why I never stick at it. So today I've had porridge AND fruit juice for breakfast AND a humous sandwich for lunch. Would rather be fat and happy eating nice food tbh. My weight often goes up or down by 4lb a day when I'm not on a diet, so why bother with all the expense and planning and guilt?

Sorry for the mardy rant, but really, how can you lose half a stone one week and just 1lb the next eating the same flaming things? AND I've walked loads this week as well. Pah Sad

fivegomadindorset · 05/03/2011 14:52

Because you always lose quickly in the first week and get rid of excess water retention and then it slows down to normal weightloss paced, anything more than 1-2lbs per wekk is unrealistic and is not conduxive to keeping it of, so buck up, carry on and see what happens.

fivegomadindorset · 05/03/2011 17:01

Sorry that sounded a bit harsh, You have done amzingly, that is an average of 4lbs per week, you have lost the same amount as I have. Don't give up. Refocus and try for 2lbs next week.

ChilliKnickers · 05/03/2011 18:59

Eden I only loss a pound this week I was not impressed after losing 6 and a bit. I looking at it at least it going in the right direction.

Good luck everybody for next week.

OP posts:
fivegomadinthelambingshed · 05/03/2011 20:10

I lost 2 but I had done that by last Monday and stayed the same for the rest of the week so you two are not the only ones.

ChilliKnickers · 07/03/2011 19:17

Well done five.

Hope its more for me next week as I have a wedding dress to fit in Grin

eden263 · 09/03/2011 16:49

Grr, was weighed by a nurse with super-accurate digital scales today and my scales do weigh me half a stone lighter than I really am. Pah. Oh well, I just have half a stone more to lose than I thought!

Am back on the wagon this week after a big wobble at the weekend, and Five's verbal knocking some sense into me, lol! Wink

Are you actually getting married next week Chilli???

ChilliKnickers · 11/03/2011 12:00

No not getting married , I ordered a wedding dress off the internet. recieved it a it was way to small Blush. This was the kick up the backside to loose the weight. I can just do it up now ... now I have to make it look good.

I have a 3 months to do it, so fingers crossed or I will be walking down the alise in a bed sheet toga stlyie Grin

Good luck to all for this weeks weight in.

OP posts:
eden263 · 11/03/2011 13:03

Aww, bless you, fingers crossed for you. Can I be nosey and ask you what sort of do you're having & everything? I never did the full works, when me and XH got married it was very low-key, we didn't even tell anyone until afterwards! Grin

I had a bit of a kick up the backside from that nurse, too. Her magic scales also did my body fat reading thing. 42.5%. OMFG, almost half my body is fat. That's pretty gross. Trying to envisage 6 1/2 stone of lard. I'm coming to terms with the fact that it's not going to happen overnight and I'll have to stick at this for a loooong time, but it'll be worth it. And maybe if I'm good for a really long time, I won't go back to my crap habits so easily. Can live in hope, lol!

ChilliKnickers · 11/03/2011 17:27

Be nosey as you like. It was going to be a small affair untill the parents and inlaws got invovled.
We did say if they wanted all these extra people they would have to pay the extra. Thought this would put inlaws off as they are very tight carefull with money and it worked.
But not with mine so we have a small selected few for the ceremony (65) and god knows how many for the evening.
Not that bad really We both get on with my side of the family and friends of parents. Inlaws would be another story for both of us.

Eden mt BMI 35 with is not great. But where doing something about it now. They say the slower it comes off the slower it goes back.
Thet havent seen me devour a large pizza, garlic bread and wine in one sitting Blush

OP posts:
eden263 · 11/03/2011 17:39

Lol, yes, I have been known to eat a whole large pizza in one go in the past, too! :)

Oh, this wasn't my BMI, that's about 33, I think. This body fat thing is a whole new ballgame of shame!!

That was one of the reasons we decided not to tell anyone about our wedding - having seen XH's twin brothers have their weddings taken over by their mother who insisted on inviting every distant relative and person she'd ever met in her life (whether the bride and groom knew them or not, mostly not!) there was no way we were going down that road ourselves! And they are also tight 'really hard up' so no doubt my parents who really are hard up would have felt obliged to pay...

eden263 · 11/03/2011 17:42

Lol, I've just noticed that I've posted both my replies pretty soon after your posts today so it looks like I do nothing but sit here waiting for someone to post all day! It's just coincidence, honest!! Blush

ChilliKnickers · 13/03/2011 08:39

4lb which I was quite surpised at after last weeks 1lb

3lb untill a stone which will probably take me a month.
Hows eveyone else going.
Eden sorry about the long wait for this post Wink

OP posts:
eden263 · 14/03/2011 10:48

Well done, 3lb for me this week :) I don't seem to look any different yet but my jeans aren't cutting me in half quite as much, so it must be working!

Starving this morning already though and I've already had my weetabix :(

Celestialstarlight · 14/03/2011 11:25

Hi all... I think I need your help Sad. I really really need to lose weight. It is making me miserable and today I put on my "fat jeans" and I couldn't zip them up [crying into hands emoticon] So now I only have 2 pairs of streychy jersey type trousers that I can still fit into. It's getting me down beyond belief and taking over my mood.

My problem has been my over consumption of shite junk food on a daily basis. Throughout the day I tend to eat pretty healthily but the evenings are the worst time when I stuff my face with crisps, chocolate...anything going. My tipple of choice was also wine until weekend past when I swapped for vodka and diet lemonade. Also like Eden I have M.E and can't really excercise, although this past week i've been feeling a little more energetic and was hoping to go swimming this week.

I'm only 5'2 and weigh 10st 7 when I last weighed myself which was last month. But I've definately put a lot more weight on since then and am too frightened to go on the scales. I have ginormous boobs GG cup and an enormous belly with overhang [TMI emoticon]. So it isn't only the fat that's getting me down but my body shape which clothes manufacturers don't seem to cater for. So I avoid clothes shopping like the plague because I always end up standing in the cubicles crying and feeling like a freak.

So pleeeaaase...take me under your wing and give me the virtual boot up the bum support I really need...pretty please? Grin

eden263 · 14/03/2011 19:43

Hi CS, welcome aboard. I'm really not the best person to give you a boot up the bum as you'll know if you've read my posts, as I keep alternating between 'I really really want to lose weight' and 'Oh, sod it!' Blush but please do join us...Your eating patterns sound familiar, I think there are a lot of us evening pigs nibblers about!

I have to admit to being a bit naughty and having half a bagel this afternoon as I was starving, feel like crap ATM and DD is proper poorly and has whinged all day...but that was pretty good considering I have at least 2 bars of chocolate in the cupboard! It's hard work, but you can do it, we can do it! :) It'll be great in a few months when we can say that between us all we've lost 15 stone or whatever Grin

I find that once I've been on a diet for a few days, I stop craving all the crap and don't have much desire to eat in the evenings at all...and I've been saving up any snack allowance and my 'pudding' to eat after I've put DD to bed, when I have a sit down in peace...that way I still get my evening food fix, but without eating anything other than I ought to. :)

Celestialstarlight · 14/03/2011 22:21

Hi Eden Well i've started my healthy eating regime today. So far so good sort of. I've eaten pretty healthily with no snacking on shite inbetween which is my huge downfall. I'm not following any diet, although the diet chef plan will be an option if I can't shift this weight. Reading through the thread most people seem to be able to lose weight but not keep it off. Whereas no matter what i've done in the past I can't shift it at all. I think though this may have something to do with the couple of glasses of vino I had each night accompanied by crisps at the weekend.

So today for breakfast I had museli with pomegranate seeds, strawberries and natural yogart followed by a berroca drink. Lunch was a bread roll with a slice of ham and dinner was meatballs in a tomato and vegetable sauce with pasta

eden263 · 18/03/2011 12:55

I'm having a 'bollocks to it!' week this week, as I've been really good again but so far have only lost about 1/2 lb & I've even given blood this week (which I thought would burn extra energy making more blood!)...I've not given in with the eating, still sticking to it, just feeling disheartened again! And I've been really hungry all week, too, so I thought I must be burning some fat...Poo.
