I cannot believe that I let myself go that much...

So the all the hard work starts now Grin

I have the Shred DVD too. I bought it with the intention of doing it on days when I can't get to the gym. I think I've done it twice. It is definitely a good workout but I hate exercising in my living room. I always end up tripping over a dog and fixating on how badly the rug needs hoovered....

Loving the pig in a wedding dress, Chilli. Off to Google images of 'elephant in a bikini' Grin

eden263 · 22/02/2011 21:39

Lol @ the pig! I read somewhere to put a photo of yourself at your thinnest on the fridge to encourage you....Though I think that would just dishearten me, lol!

I've done well, thanks, Chilli, been v good & stuck right to it for both days! :) Made a massive veg & lentil stew for tea and am stuffed...but stuffed with goodness! yay! Wink

Have pretty much cracked the evening munchies too, by saving any snack allowance and my dessert and eating them at night.

Full steam ahead! :)

A girl I used to work with did Zumba and said it was brilliant! Trouble for me with being a LP is that any evening events (or, let's face it, any events that don't involve children!) are a no-no Hmm

sleepylittlebunnies · 23/02/2011 00:35

I wonder if they do zumba for wii fit? DH got me one last christmas and I have never set it up but rarely have childcare and can't drive so not easy to get to classes, used to do aqua aerobics 3 times a week before kids!

Been very good diet wise but as DD has chicken pox have not been out so activity levels very low. Normally do a lot of walking. Got my weigh in tomorrow night, well tonight now so will let you know how I get on :)

Lucyintheskywithdiazepam · 23/02/2011 07:48

Sleepy

Zumba for Wii

Lucyintheskywithdiazepam · 23/02/2011 07:49

Oh balls. Just noticed that it's not released until 4th march but that's just next week, isn't it?

eden263 · 23/02/2011 08:25

Good luck with your weight-in, sleepy. Poor DD with chicken pox, bless her, it's a miserable illness.

eden263 · 23/02/2011 08:26

weigh in, even

chocolatespiders · 23/02/2011 09:19

Morning all so far so good here but i am still not following any sort of plan.
I loved old weight watcher point diet as it aloowed me to become obbsessed with the points and relieved my obsession with food for a little while!!!
If i went to one class would i get enough info to do the new plan i dont really want to go to a class every week due to finances, although i am happy to throw money down the drain when i stop at the shop and buy a fivers worth of rubbish food to eat between a meal.
Anyone know if i could find the WW info online

So far i am just trying to cut down on stuff I eat between meals which is my downfall as my meals are normally good- maybe slightly to much potato but I normally have 4-5 different veg with it.

I have also started reading the Nevis and India diet book which is inspirational although not sure if i want to do the low GI diet which they did, but the way they talk about how they changed there obbsession with food is inspiring.

Chocolate, you took the words out of my mouth! Isn't it funny what we can justify?! Wink

BTW, would you consider changing your name to something like 'carrot-coatedspiders'? I actually got excited at the thought of cho*ate when I typed your name! Oh dear.

eden263 · 23/02/2011 13:22

Oops, that last sentence should have had a Wink at the end. Now it sounds like I was seriously asking you to change it! Blush

LisaD1 · 23/02/2011 17:38

Hi everyone,

How we all doing?

I'm having a good week, am about to head off to the gym for the 3rd time this week, got no children as they're wih my parents for half term so using the time to get stuck into the gym. Have been doing slim-fast this week, one for breakfast, a proper lunch and one when I get home from the gym, am hoping for a good result on the scales this week.

fivegomadindorset · 23/02/2011 21:58

Sorry, I tend to go Awol from Monday bedtime until Thursday morning, just to get back on and will catch up tomorrow.

sleepylittlebunnies · 23/02/2011 23:12

Eden, thank you I lost 4lbs very good as been stuck in. It has been a miserable week poor DD 17 months has been very unwell with it, DS age 3 was fine and didn't even itch. He has probably had the most boring week of his life as no pre school to escape to. Sad Hate to think how much chocolate and cake I would have got through if I hadn't been on SW.Blush

Thanks Lucy its not long to wait for the release and will probably arrive at about the time when the initial weight loss slows down. Will have to keep the blinds closed, don't want to be papped dancing madly around the living room in my crop top and hot pants. Grin

eden263 · 24/02/2011 08:12

Aww, well done sleepy! And even more well done on resisting the cake! I made DS2 some cookies on Monday, and normally I'd have stuffed them down like there was no tomorrow had one or two, but I've just had a bite-sized piece each day. Go me, lol! Wink

Actually, I've not been craving sweet stuff at all, so it's not being too hard atm. Though it has only been 3 days, and will no doubt be a totally different story when I'm due on and generally have to eat carbs for England!!

eden263 · 24/02/2011 08:13

Fivegomad, how do you manage to abstain from MN for several days?? I only found the site a couple of months ago and it's taken over my life! I just can't stop reading all the threads!

fivegomadindorset · 24/02/2011 09:59

I leave home at 7.30 on a Tuesday, drop oDS at nursery, go to work, go to evening class, home at 10 for a bath and bed, then on Wednesday I leave home at 7.30, drop DS off and then work bcak home at 6pm, usually back on at about 9pm after bath, bed time. It is hugely addictive.

ChilliKnickers · 24/02/2011 13:03

Well done sleepy my first weight in on sat so fingers crossed.

eden263 · 24/02/2011 13:13

Ah, a cunning plan, Fivegomad, having a life outside the home! Wink I had one until recently but am a SHAM now (though DD is still 'working her notice' at nursery, hence me being online in the day....though I was supposed to use this time to do jobs and finish a correspondence course I started last year! Grr at self!)

eden263 · 24/02/2011 13:14

lol @ SHAM. I may be a sham, but I'm also a SAHM!! Grin

sleepylittlebunnies · 24/02/2011 13:55

Eden, thanks but I have to resist these sweet things as I don't do moderation.Blush Can't avoid them forever but hoping that once I have shifted a couple of stone I won't overdo it and could have the odd sweet treat. Was reading on another thread that tiredness can cause the craving for sweet things and DD rarely sleeps through the night and I work 2 nights a week so definitely lacking sleep.Sad Well done for your restraint, I can't ever blame my time of the month as I have not had a period since DS was conceived in 2006!Smile

Are you doing SW Eden as you can have lots of carbs on extra easy and green days. Good luck for saturday Chilli.

DaffadownDilly · 24/02/2011 15:01

Hi everyone Smile

Haven't done as well as I was. Still dosed, I have started taking vitamins so I hope that will help. am eating mountains of strepsils and panadol drinks.

You all seem to be doing well! I think I might get that zumba wii game when it is released, I looked at zumba on youtube and it looks fun and dooable.

Lucyintheskywithdiazepam · 24/02/2011 15:32

Daffa, I heard something earlier this week that Potassium supplements are good shortening the duration of a cold.

I'm doing ok this week so far. However, I've been invited out with friends for dinner tomorrow night and despite my best intentions to stick to very diluted white wine spritzers and have a salad, I know I'll end up shit faced on gin and insist in a pizza on the way home. Someone save me from my drunken self.....! I may have to write off the Saturday morning weigh-in this week!

If anyone gets the Wii Zumba, can you review it here please? I don't need to buy it but probably will anyway

eden263 · 24/02/2011 21:40

Yes Sleepy, I'm doing SW. Every day is green for me as I'm vegan. :) Which suits me fine as I love pasta, potatoes & rice & that's what I mostly squeeze in around the vast mountains of chocolate and crap eat normally.

I'm feeling very virtuous this week, as I'm having to cook meals from scratch rather than just lazily opening the freezer. I've been through lots of my cook books and flagged up everything that's made with my free food, so trying recipes I've never had before. :) Really hoping I can maintain momentum this time as I hate eating processed food anyway, love eating the stuff I'm eating, and it has to be healthier for me and DD (DS2 is still eating crap, but that's teenage boys for you...)

sleepylittlebunnies · 24/02/2011 22:51

DH is back now but had been working away for the last month, back at weekends for me to go to work and the amount of crap that I managed to shove down my throat is unbelievable. In fact I think carrot cake was my only contribution towards my 5 a day.Grin It was only when DS gave me a pear that I realised I hadn't eaten a single piece of fruit or veg for weeks!Blush I wasn't squeezing the crap in around meals either more like replacing meals. The kids had healthy meals and I would eat chocolate and cake when they were sleeping or even in another room.

So I have issues around food and compulsive eating that nobody in RL would ever be aware of. They must wonder how on earth I ever got to this size in such a short time, 5 stone over 5 years is a lot. I wish I had never started my first diet as I wasn't actually very overweight at the time but over the years it has led to yo-yoing and I am very much either on or off a diet.Sad

This time I am determined to have a body I am happy with and don't want to waste the rest of my 30's desperately wishing I was slim but doing nothing about it. The SW class I have joined is full of friendly women and a lot of supportive banter, it is the closest thing to a social life I have at the moment so should help to keep me going.Smile

eden263 · 24/02/2011 23:35

Aww, bless you, sleepy. I remember saying when I was in my mid 20s that I wanted to get 'thin' before I was 30...Hmm, I'm 41 now and bigger than I was then! So now I'm telling myself I'm not going to be fat at 50...

We shall see...

I'm reasonably good at eating healthy meals (though I'm bad with fruit, too, but that's because it's so damned expensive I try to save it for the DC!), and no-one can ever work out why I'm overweight if I'm a vegan, as they think it's all just twigs & lettuce...Well, hello! I can still eat (dairy-free) chocolate, humous (oh, humous! Mmmmm), and I love baking!!! And crisps, chips, biscuits, home-made pizza etc...And being vegan unfortunately doesn't stop a binger from bingeing! Sad
