hope DS gets better soon wwmc.

Right, I think I've caught up with the thread now you've all gone off to bed!

ktwiltshire · 17/02/2011 07:50

ooh what a lovely new thread! welcome new ppl!

bad night last night, woke up at 2am with stabbing pains in my kidneys and proceeded to be up and down the whole night being sick, luckily DH got up and got me a drink and sat with me until i fell asleep around 4am.
i was planning on going into work today to hand over for my leave over the half term, but im yelping in pain just getting down the stairs, so, no, i will call in and hand over on the phone. ask i work in a hospital i couldnt come in having been sick all night, dont want to pass anything to the patients!

DH has set me up in the bedroom with laptop etc so i can rest today, have a Drs appt later anyway, so hopefully will get antibiotics. im worrying that im not going to be well enough to come on saturday, but im determined to get better enough for then! lots of fluids and rest!

hope everyone has a good day, and good luck to the newbies Smile

Olive - throw the scales away. Seriously. I put mine outside the front gate with a note on them saying please help yourself. They were gone in ten minutes.

Feeling much better since my decision to never weigh again. Grin

MordechaiVanunu · 17/02/2011 08:38

The problem with the scales I've found is that great while it's all going and you feel you're doing great and you can see the weight going down.

BUT if you have jut one bad day, the scales can really disproportionately reflect this. One days face stuffing can seem to wipe out two weeks worth of great positive work (which of course it really can't) but the huge disappointment at what the scales are saying is so demotivating that I've often given up with an 'in for a panny in for a pound' mentality, and end up over eating for days and feeling very low.

If however you have no scales and you have a day where you know you've over eaten, it's much more easy to say to yourself 'oh well that was yesterday, today I'll have more awareness of how I'm eating and overall I'm doing well.'

The scales can wipe out all motivation in one disappointing weigh in. It's easier to think more long term and positively without them.

whomovedmychocolate · 17/02/2011 11:07

DS kicked me in the head continually - had to have him propped up so he could breathe, so did not have a very restful night and STILL NOT FRICKING PERIOD - is it coming by Parcel Force or something Angry

Anyway, Olive - if your scales have batteries, remove them and put them in an obscure place if you cannot bear to throw them away or tell your DH to only allow you to have them back once a month for five minute, starting in two months time.

Hello, hello!!!

Olive, you are (sadly) so not the old lady of the group. I will be 47 in March, so I think I'll take that crown back thank you!!! Wink

Dd also ill again WMMC. Fed up with this virus that seems to go from Ds to DD and back etc, etc...

So, I've been a bit absent from the number 1 thread and not sure what we are doing on Saturday exactly. I think our tube comes in at about 8:45 assuming the works don't hold us up.
Haven't yet made my PomBear, but will attempt it tonight/tomorrow...

marmitetoastie · 17/02/2011 16:20

I'll be at the live thing on sat. My name's Hari (we get name badges to wear and I would guess we'll all be sitting in the same row). Bye x

MordechaiVanunu · 17/02/2011 16:32

Is lunch provided? Anyone know what time lunch will be?

Not that I'm obsessed with eating. Oh no.

Oliveonthepaulmckennabus · 17/02/2011 16:40

lol at Mord

OK everyone - what should I do.

PurpleMiffy wanted my spare ticket but since my initial contact hasn't been back in contact with me. She PM'd me on Tuesday 8th to say she was looking into train times but was a bit nervous about coming to London. I PM'd her on Monday to try and finalise meeting up. Have posted on this thread and also on Chat saying to contact me. She hasn't posted as PurpleMiffy since then. And she has my email address and I have no messages on there.

Options:

  1. Hang on to the ticket in case she wants to come and has bought said train ticket.
  2. Offer out the ticket on this thread or on Chat.
  3. Give my ticket to BloomingNora so she can sit with the rest of the MNers. (And she could offer out hers if anyone wants it).

WWYD?

bloomingnora · 17/02/2011 16:45

Any PM you send will also appear in her email in box. Maybe she is ill? Tough one! I'm fine sitting on my own btw but if you don't off load the ticket would equally love to sit with you guys!

Oliveonthepaulmckennabus · 17/02/2011 17:06

Not if you opt out of emails of PMs (I have).

I don't mind if she doesn't want to come but it's annoying to have no contact at all 'cos then I don't know what to do with the ticket.

This ticket has been claimed and turned down by so many people now... [billy no mates emoticon]

Oliveonthepaulmckennabus · 17/02/2011 17:07

Actually that's not true - my lovely friends are too skinny to need it!

ktwiltshire · 17/02/2011 17:19

I think you should try and contact her one more time, time is running out.

Ok have been lying in bed most of the day, drinking a ton of fluids, been to the Drs and got some antibiotics, so hopefully they will have kicked in enough, but TBH if i keep my fluids up the pain isnt too bad, well in my kidneys. The Dr did comment that im on a lot of very strong painkillers, i said yeah but theyre not even working as well as they used to! all the same, medicine review is done, and i can ask the ppl at the back clinic on wednesday.

havent really eaten much today as i just havent had any appetite, but will have some cereal or something this evening. DH is out working tonight, so at least i can have a nice early night!

Is there any plan for meeting up in breaks etc? I will be the large one on crutches so fairly easy to spot

lililolo · 17/02/2011 17:37

Olive, I would probably send a pm now saying that you are going to offer up the ticket as you need give the person who takes it a chance to arrange travel and child care and so on. otherwise it will go to waste, and that would be such a shame!

I know there are loads of reasons why she might not have got in touch, but it really doesn't sound to me as if she is going to come now if the last you heard fom her is the 8th.

Sorry if I sound hard, but that is mho. I would be really gutted if there are spare tickets as there are plenty of people who would love the chance to go.

Purplemiffy, hope everything is ok with you :)

lililolo · 17/02/2011 17:42

I haven't had a bad day tbh.

Does any one else notice that when they are motivated with one thing it has a knock on with the rest?

I'm on day 3 of af today and honestly, I feel like a fog has lifted, the last couple of days I have felt like shit, and today i feel normal. Have eaten when hungry etc etc and when I dropped dd off to nursery, I came home and bleached the kitchen cupboards and bathroom, caught up on washing, mopped the floors. Being in a clean and tidy place makes me feel so much happier that I wonder why I am such a lazy cah about housework.

Anyway, getting excited / nervous re Saturday.

MordechaiVanunu · 17/02/2011 17:55

Seriously does anyone know about lunch? A friend has recommended a vegetarian restaurant around the corner so I'm wondering whether to book a table and if so what time.

lililolo · 17/02/2011 18:08

I think lunch is at 1pm for 1.5 hours. Mners are meeting up half way through in the bar upstairs. I'm pretty certain lunch will not be provided but might be wrong. Could call the appollo?

Speaking of which, I Have to admit to finding rhe idea of hypnosis in the apollo slightly hilarious! It's a massive venue, hardly intimate. Am finding it hard to imagine what is going to happen to us.

Suppose i's not long til we find out :)

ps what's the restaurant?

Oliveonthepaulmckennabus · 17/02/2011 18:58

I'm sure there will be somewhere to buy lunch. They're not going to miss a revenue opportunity like that. If not, Hammersmith High Street is just round the corner with a nice M&S food hall iirc.

Have PM'd PurpleMiffy one last time.

Oliveonthepaulmckennabus · 17/02/2011 19:06

Hope you're feeling OK btw kt

whomovedmychocolate · 17/02/2011 19:45

I'm getting an M&S salad box on the way there. I think the lunch break is an hour and that's not long enough if you want to eat consciously and slowly Wink

ktwiltshire · 17/02/2011 19:56

thanks olive, getting there, just catching up on outcasts and then early night with painkillers and antibiotics. hope my hips can hold out so i can make it upstairs to the bar at lunch.

its been a better day food wise, i had some dinner, spageti hoops and sausages with toast, sounds boring but i really like them!

Leverkusen · 17/02/2011 23:24

I onmly just did my second day and I have no idea what I am doing. Can't tell when I am full so I end up eating the tiniest portions- think a quarter of an avocado and two spoonfuls of cottage cheese- can that be right?
I can't cope without WW telling me how many points I can have Grin
Hopefully I will understand this more when I read the book.

Hope you all enjoy the seminar

AmpleBosom · 17/02/2011 23:30

Just saying hello, still not started anything Blush just planning to start on Saturday.

I'm really stressing about it now, long drive tomorrow night and then early start on Saturday. Hopefully it will be worth it.

Looking forward to meeting some of you on Saturday. WMMC have you still got my mobile number?

Right off to bed!

nikki1978 · 17/02/2011 23:31
