OP posts:
NoWayNoHow · 15/03/2011 14:53

Well done loublou and *littlefriendsusan" sorry about sts, but it does sound like this may be more about muscle mass than anything else, especially with those incredible lost cms!

Good luck blondes with pt - you're absolutely right, it'll take days and days for their to be any real change in behaviour.

As an aside, had to grab a rushed lunch today before picking DS up from nursery, so grabbed a king prawn and noodle salad from Co-op as part of their Meal Deal (so also had fruit salad and Coke Zero). The noodle salad was only 6PP including dressing, and was absolutely lush.

A handy tip to know for those running around days!

LittleFriendSusan · 15/03/2011 15:53

Good luck with the pt blondes . Glad those days are over for us, though DS still in pull ups at night. Plan is to try and crack that over easter hols... DD was 7 before completely dry at night so don't hold out much hope (DS is 6 - has had the odd dry night but not much more. Have tried without pullups a few times at his request, but given up a month or so down the line as not getting anywhere and couldn't keep up with washing etc with sometimes 3 changes of bedding a night! Too stressful all round, and they will do it when they're ready...)

Re weeklies - don't know if this will help but info from my tracker:

Week 1
M29 T35 W37 T36 F36 S39 S30
Used 39 weeklies lost 4.5lb

Week 2
M33 T32 W33 T38 F40 S52 S29

Week 3
M31 T27 W28 T35 F26 S60 S27
Used 39 weeklies lost 0.5lb

Week 4
M32 T29 W39 T34 F34 S55 S25
Used 49 weeklies STS

Week 5
M29 T25 W29 T36 F35 S35 S34
Used 24 weeklies lost 2.5lb (also had 10 activity points left)

Week 6
M28 T32 W30 T27 F32 S68 S27

Week 8

Actually looking at that I have STS when went OVER weeklies... hardly surprising and suppose am lucky not to put on. Think I need to stay in of a weekend!! I don't always remember to log activity points, but am trying to walk more - think exercise might be the key.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/03/2011 16:00

susan thanks for weekies guide

noway yummy prawn and noodles and only 6pp - was it a small bowl? might pop up to my local coop

OP posts:
LittleFriendSusan · 15/03/2011 16:25

There's a prawn & noodle salad on the WW site which sounds nice - 7PP, in fact it's one of the lunches I mentioned earlier. 120g prawns, 150g noodles, 50g beansprouts, handful baby spinach, soy sauce, olive oil & lime juice. I would prob put carrots & spring onions in too to bulk it out a bit! I might actually pop to Sainsburys on the way home and do this for lunch tomorrow.

(Unfortunately our Co-op is tiny and doesn't sell anything much. There's a big one in another nearby town and am v jealous!)

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/03/2011 16:29

150g noodles, is that cooked? assuming must be or would be 15pp

what would it be raw/un cooked weight?

OP posts:
LittleFriendSusan · 15/03/2011 16:40

Yeah cooked ones, sorry forgot to put that bit! On the tracker it says boiled egg noodles 3PP for 150g, dried 7PP for 60g. 30g dried comes out at 3PP, 35g at 4PP so would guess somewhere thereabouts!

NoWayNoHow · 15/03/2011 17:05

blondes it was actually a decent size for lunch - imagine bowl aobut 10cmx10cm and about 5cm deep. Generous with prawns too. Think if I remember correctly that it weighed 220g?

LittleFriend you'd be surprised what your Co-op has - ours is also extremely tiny, and this was just with the other lunch time meal deals.

The WW salad sounds very similar, might give that a go at home!

BTW, I think the Amoy medium wok noodles come in packs of 150g (already cooked) which just need to be stir fried to warm up.

JoJoBaldwin · 15/03/2011 18:02

Prawn noodle salad sounds fab - need to veer away from Quorn a little or I'll get sick of it. Need to devise a weeks menu where I can incorporate various ingredients into different meals, otherwise I get left with bags of spinach and beansprouts going off cos I only needed them for one meal.

Took blondes advice and did my WI as today would have been my usual day - am changing it to friday from now on though, so next WI will be in a couple of days. My loss for the week was 5lb - so basically sts from friday's sneaky early weigh. Which I am pleased with considering my weekend's naughtiness.

Smile
JoJoBaldwin · 15/03/2011 18:09

As an aside... has anyone seen any nice dresses for a size 16/18 shape in the shops? Party on the 26th (trying to get down to a 16 by then, fingers crossed).

I need a Gok Wan to tell me what to wear for a figure that is size 18 top and 14 hips! I soooo hate carrying all my weight up top (and no, it's not all boobs, it's flippin backfat). Would much rather have a big wobbly bottom than backfat and belly!

If anyone has my sort of shape and has seen anything nice lately do point me in the right direction!

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/03/2011 18:10

jojo fri is much better day to weigh Grin well done on 5 loss, thats almost all that you gained :)

noway thanks for tip

NoWayNoHow · 15/03/2011 18:18

Good loss JoJo!

Have you checked WW online for relevant recipes is you want to make a change? They have some great vegetarian options, and I often find that the PP value for 1 portion (if the recipe is for 4) is so low that you can have two portions each! My favourites are: roasted butternut and couscous salad (5PP for one portion, 11PP for two); halloumi, spinach and red pepper salad (5PP for one portion, 10PP for two); and baked vegetable frittata (makes 6 portions, but I have 3 for 6PP!!)

If you want any of these recipes, let me know and I'll PM you if you don't have access to the WW website.

NoWayNoHow · 15/03/2011 18:22

Oh, weekly meal plans are the only way to go! I find it SO MUCH EASIER if I know what's coming over the next few days. We've also found that our food bill has come done loads by doing what you were talking about - making sure that if you do one recipe that needs not a lot of spinach, then you plan another recipe that also uses spinach (for us, chicken sag tonight and sea bass with spinach and potatoes)

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/03/2011 18:51

Babs did a poo on the potty

She was so chuffed with herself and overjoyed at the chocolate button she got :)

Not read all the thread yet, just popping in to say I lost another 1 lb this week. Yay! Will catch up later

Littlefish · 15/03/2011 20:30

Sorry I haven't been round much. I'm doing more days at work at the moment, and it's taking its toll!

Anyway - just wanted to let you know that I lost another 2lbs this week. That makes 2 stone 1 and a half in total. Grin.

One more week until my London party, and I'm still on track to lose 3 stone by then.

Grin
Blondeshavemorefun · 15/03/2011 20:39

wizzler and littlefish well done on both of you and your loss's

Just had spag Bol. I love it but do begrudge using 6pp on pasta - and that's still a small portion

OP posts:
Littlefish · 15/03/2011 21:08

Just re-read my post - I meant that I've lost 2 stone 11 and a half.

6pp of pasta really is a miserly portion, isn't it Blondes. Sad

wizzler · 15/03/2011 21:28

Have now caught up on thread, phew!

Welcome MrsKbpw

Shock and Envy at HMC Gym. You are a lucky lady

Well done to Noway, Abgirl, LouBlou,JoJo and Littlefish

Especially well done to Lil Blondes and her choccy button

Littlefish, I am glad you put on the correction. I thought you must be reverting to surgery if you were confident you could lose 13lbs in 7 days.
LoopyLa.. happy to have helped. I may patent my theory.

Has anyone tried the soups in this weeks WW booklet. Thai chicken looks lovely. Can any of you homey types tell me if it will freeze?

JoJoBaldwin · 16/03/2011 07:32

Well done wizzler and Littlefish!

Morning all.

PT is great fun isn't it Blondes. You might find that she takes to it really quickly if she is ready for it. My DD didn't want to know when I tried at first, but a couple of months later she whipped her nappy off and that was it - potty for first week, toilet the next week and dry at night the next. Been shocked at how painless it was!

Another good day yesterday. Lunch was bottom of fridge stir-fry with some quorn steak strips added (and a bit of thai sweet chilli sauce on the side). Dinner was home-made veggie shepherds pie (8pp)and peas. Felt a bit "snacky" but had minimilks in the fridge which are a godsend at 1pp.

Hoping for the fog to lift and get out to the park today. Get some exercise in before I go to the kids party. Shock

Have an excellent day everyone - can I just say this thread and your wise words have been MUCH more motivating than any WW leader. Don't feel like I am doing this alone at all. x

mrskbpw · 16/03/2011 09:16

I'm so pleased I found this thread. I was worried because I couldn't go to meetings that I'd struggle a bit, but it's only day three and already I've had so much support. Thanks! Yesterday was much easier than Monday, but going to Prezzo for lunch today as it's a colleague's birthday. Am trying to download the menu so I can prepare, and hopefully I can have a salad (am getting to grips with this lower carb thing!).

I agree with JoJoBaldwin re potty training. My son was a breeze to train - he had loads of accidents the first day and I thought it was going to be a nightmare. Then he obviously thought about it over night, and that was it. Potty for a couple of weeks, then on to the loo. And he was dry at night almost straight away. Now we're trying to get him to do 'standing-up wees' but he's not keen!

Piffle · 16/03/2011 09:22

I'm really noticing jeans getting looser at the waist
Yesterday I did 7 pp of activity but only ate 30 points
Today's plan
All Bran brekkie 4PP
Lunch : Lamb leg steak half a wrap and salad 12pp
Dinner : moroccan chicken, green beans and lemon couscous
I'm not sure point wise will calculate but will ease up on couscous it's about 6pp per portion prob dinner about 11pp
Perhaps a hobnob or two and point free snacking
Activity likely to be about 5pp today
feeling uber virtuous and motivated now!

ClaireDeLoon · 16/03/2011 09:55

Well done littlefish and wizzler

WI this morning after my lunch and dinner out yesterday and I lost 2lbs so very very pleased with that. This week I have eaten all but 2 of my weeklies but none of my exercise points.

hmc · 16/03/2011 10:57

How are you counting your exercise points Piffle? I ask because I've just completed a 4 mile (6.4kms)jog/run on the treadmill (took me 44 minutes average speed around 9km/hr) and when I look that up in my WW pocket guide that gives me 4-5 activity points. I count it as 'moderate' exercise based on their handy classification guide on p61 ( i can talk, but I can't sing, my breathing is often and deep and I am sweating after 10 minutes)...

If I go for a dog walk for one hour I count that as low intensity (I can talk, I can sing, my breathing is regular and I am not sweating) and it gives me 3-4 activity points (I am on the cusp of a weight banding...)
