Welcome mrsk Smile

blondes Salmon is really expensive isn't it? I stocked up on frozen salmon when I started ww before checking how many points they were!

I had a gruyere cheese quorn escalope with loads of veg for dinner. One lot of veg was waitrose julienne of carrot and courgette with a herb butter and the other was stir-fried broccoli and courgette and onion with a splash of soy and worcester sauce - very yummy combo. 8pp for the lot.

Minimilk for pudding Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/03/2011 22:25

jojo yes it is :( but so yummy. One of my fav foods just a shame it's so high in PP / it's protein so should be low :(

Your stir fried veggies sound yummy

Morning all!

Drum roll please...

2lbs off! Into the next stone bracket and now only 5lbs away from 10% goal! And for blondes that was using 38 of my weeklies.

Considering that I really didn't let myself go without anything this week, I couldn't be happier.

Good luck to everyone else with WI's today!

JoJoBaldwin · 15/03/2011 07:43

Well done NoWay!!!! Must feel so good to be in the next stone bracket, how brilliant. Smile

Hoping for a mega-park session today, will involve an hour's round walk to get there and lots of running around. Had planned it yesterday but freezing fog got in the way grrrrrr.

Don't dare weigh as haven't been to the loo for 3 days! Am wondering if canderel is making me constipated? I have 3 in my coffee in the morning Blush. TMI? Grin

abgirl · 15/03/2011 08:15

Yay! 2lbs off, first time I've lost more than 1lb for agesGrinGrinGrin If I lose 1lbs next week will get second silver 7, 2lbs I will be down to 12st, 3lbs into the 11s - feeling well motivated (for now!).

Will try and have a proper catch up later, have had a busy week with work and car issues...

Well done NoWay...

NoWayNoHow · 15/03/2011 08:16

Ditto abgirl Smile

LoopyLa · 15/03/2011 08:51

Jojo start upping the fruit intake perhaps? :)

Failing that, maybe All Bran for brekkie - it's fairly low in PP as cereals go and I have it with sliced banana :o)

mrskbpw · 15/03/2011 09:13

Morning! Well done on all your losses yesterday. It's obviously working. I found my first day quite easy yesterday but am shocked (SHOCKED!) by how high in points carbs are. Had a jacket potato for dinner last night - 8PPs! I'm vegetarian and I'm wondering if this is going to make it all a bit tricky? Are any of you veggies? Is it just lots of quorn and tofu?

Willabywallaby · 15/03/2011 09:23

Yay for the 2lb losers!!

hmc · 15/03/2011 09:27

BigTilly as you are at goal, when are you going to change your name to StunninglySlimTilly ? Well done for maintaining

And well done NoWay and Abgirl on those losses, lets hope there are more to come this week

Fingers crossed for you JoJo that you'll have a big poo some time soon Wink - are you drinking plenty of water btw?

hmc · 15/03/2011 09:30

Carbs can seem a bit heavily propointed Mrs - but you'll get used to the portion sizes being tight, just bulk up with the veggies and fruit......Also cheese isn't so very bad if you go for the reduced fat variant....

I eat lots of soup - relatively filling for low points values. It's spicy sweet potato soup this lunch time from the Covent Garden cook book

bigTillyMint · 15/03/2011 09:49

Noway and abgirl well done!

hmc LOL - that would be tempting fate!

Piffle · 15/03/2011 10:04

I'm gutted that oily fish is so high, smoked mackerel I love it with plain salad...
Anyhow I've lost another .5 kg that's 2 kg since starting...
I did 4 activity points walking before breakfast so had bacon, tomatoes and scrambled egg...
Nice cuppa :)
More cycling and walking later too
Tonight is spicy lean lamb chunks with roasted veg ( peppers, courgette, red onion, mushrooms, cherry toms)

I'm looking at a carb... Hmm pita?

Lunch is chicken and salad
Snacks pineapple and beetroot
I'm finding it impossible with at least 3 activity points!
But at least I'm losing steadily?
I've got 1.5-2stone to remove so here is hoping!

Well done on the other losses, I'm kiwi so only function in metric :-)

JoJoBaldwin · 15/03/2011 10:18

Thanks Loopy and hmc, lots of fruit and water being imbibed

mrsk - I'm not fully veggie as eat fish occasionally, but I don't eat any other meat. Mostly quorn for me, lentils, chickpeas, stir-fries etc. Not that much different from my usual diet but without the biscuits, full fat cream and butter Wink

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/03/2011 10:31

noway thats fab, well done and thx for putting weekies, so you didnt eat them all, any reason why not, ww say you can eat all 49 and lose weight

jojo weigh yourself if it is wi day, i have candereal every day and blondes bowels are fine Grin

abgirl well done and hope car is ok

loopy i though 99% of cereals are 10g = 1pp? so any cereal is fine iyswim

mrsk yes carbs are a killer on new ww pp :( shame as i love pasta and last time i lost 4 stone i had pasta every day and lost weight - your jacket sounds quite a big one, potato is 50g = 1pp, so i find a 200/250g raw weight for 4/5pp a good size - did you weigh your potato after it was cooked? always weigh raw

piffle well done on .5kg thats 1.1lb :)

im potty training this week, chocolate buttons for bribery, i may need those myself lol

OP posts:
Willabywallaby · 15/03/2011 10:42

Still yet to potty train DS2, DS1 was such a nightmare was going to wait til he's 3. May is looming! Did put him in pants yesterday after school run and it took him 3 hrs to wet his pants. He was very upset Sad

ClaireDeLoon · 15/03/2011 11:22

Well done Piffle, abgirl and NoWay :o

I have the day of dread - business type lunch out and then dinner with friends. And tomorrow is WI. I have saved ALL my weeklies (that was a struggle!) but still not sure it will cover the damage.

NoWayNoHow · 15/03/2011 11:37

blondes no reason for not eating them all, just didn't need to. No massive social occasions on the weekend, just a rather sedate Sunday lunch. If there had been eating out/loads of drinking then maybe would've been a different stor! Basically, it wasn't a conscious decision not to finish them, rather just the way the week panned out.

LittleFriendSusan · 15/03/2011 13:04

Just popping on quickly to see how you're all doing :) Not had time to post for ages but have been having a sneaky peek whilst at work!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/03/2011 13:32

see ww always say eat the 49, but if i do then i sts or gain :(

claire have you looked at the menu, i would go for chicken breast and salad/jacket as best choice as easy to pp - and well done for saving all 49 for it

willa needs must, dc starts nursery after easter and needs to be dry, she is 2.9

having 4 rivitta, 2 low cheese triangles, and 100g chicken for lunch and salad

OP posts:
loubloutwinmum · 15/03/2011 14:12

I have decided I am totally crap at keeping up with this thread! The harder I try, the worse I am.

Blondes how is the potty training going - brings back memories of potty training my twins!

NoWay hope things are better for you and your son! Sounds so stressful but you sound like you are doing a great job. Well done on your 2lb loss that is a great achievement when you have so much else to cope with.

HMC & Loppyla I have major shoulder issues too! It is my right shoulder and have had months of physio and chiropractor sessions and it improved for a while. But since I started upping my exercise it has really kicked or and just like you Loopy, lifting arm up and taking my top off is sometimes impossible. I even got stuck in a clothes shop changing room as couldn't get a dress off I was trying on! Very embarrassing! Shop assistant had to help me out of it!!! Have had X-rays and they show nothing but the problem persists. Means I can't do SHRED at moment - the plank and press-ups are impossible! Still doing Zumba though which is great fun.

MrsKB welcome - well done on shifting 3 stone last year. Sure you will get to grips with PP, I have found it really good. I started at the end of Nov 2010 and have lost 2 1/2 stone so far!

I have had a rubbish week - car broke, very very stressful and ended up with a £600 garage bill to get it back on the road! TOTM too so feeling like death! I did WI yesterday and have lost 1.5 lbs this week. So I am pretty pleased as my loss is consistent and I feel it is sustainable! I had 22 weekly points left and hadn't touched my 13 exercise points.

Anyway, turned into a very big post - hope everyone is doing well and good luck with WI's. Smile

LittleFriendSusan · 15/03/2011 14:12

Oops - didn't mean to post that yet, my finger slipped Grin

Some fab losses I see - well done ladies!

hmc 5lb last week, how good is that?! Even STS the next week, that's still avg 2.5lb a week. When I did WW years ago I seemed to be the same, would lose 4lb+ one week and STS or 1/2lb the next. Not working quite so well this time though... Hope your shoulder recovers soon and you can get back to your home gym Envy.

Androbbob - well done on 2lb and 1 stone!

Tilly - yay on getting back to goal.

HHY - your sculpture was fab. Good luck for WI this week :)

ClairedeLoon - 3lb off, well done you! See, it all came good in the end :) Enjoy your dinner today, and you might still be OK for WI tomorrow - sometimes it takes a couple of days to show on the scales!

JoJo - sounds like you are doing really well and am very Envy at 5lb off! Have to say, your food always sounds fab, just the sort of thing I like to eat!

Shoulders & Willaby - well done too on 3lb loss. I think those of you with big losses should tell us what you eat, maybe I can get some ideas!

littlefish - congrats on next stone bracket :)

abgirl & NWNH - well done for 2lb loss

benben, blondes, wynken, piffle well done to you all too!

froot sorry but I had to laugh at your drunken netbook purchase and statement doctoring!! (and well done for losing 2 last week).

trinity & mrskbpw - welcome!

Phew Wink - well done to you if anyone is still reading after all that!

I STS again yesterday (did last week too :(). I think I may have gone slightly over my points this weekend but was v good the rest of the week. Had boss's leaving do at work Friday lunchtime which was all buffet-type food. The "healthy option" was pasta salad smothered in mayonnaise... So I just picked at it - had 3 small sandwiches (tuna, prawn & chicken salad), few crisps, maybe 2 tbsp pasta salad? Didn't touch the pastries etc but felt obliged to have cupcake, which was a shocking 9 PP. Left the buttercream topping ( was loads of it) so guessed it would be around 7PP? So I estimated around 17PP total for lunch. Then that evening was at a do at my friend's, again drinks and buffet food. Worked it out around 25PP on food (inc Quorn Nachos which I guessed at 10?) and 23PP on wine Blush - HUGE glasses so I reckon must have had well over a bottle... Gah.

This Sat I am at another lunch / drinks / dinner do so don't hold out much hope again. We get together once a month for 3 course lunch and drinks... am looking forward to the food and company, but just a shame it's so close to WI! I will have to try to up the exercise this week to compensate.

On the positive side, I measured myself after last week's WI. Was getting a little disillusioned with it all as weight loss had slowed right down, but since starting, I had lost 10cm off waist, 10cm off hips, 4cm off thighs, 1cm off arms and 5cm off boobs. Could have done without the last one though as not a lot there to start with Wink. So I guess it's coming off even if the scales don't think so! I really do want a loss next week though...

Some lovely lunch ideas on the WW site at the moment. I think I will try some this week for a change. Had seeded pitta bread & tuna & lots of salad today. Pitta with LF hoummous & Apetina light for the last few days, so fancy a change!

Back shortly :)
