Thought I might take the liberty to start a new thread as can't seem to cram another post onto the old one and I have some positive news to start a new one with! :)

I have lost weight - almost as much as Jillian claims you will and have 2 days left!

------

Everyone is doing so well - putting me to shame with talk of Level 3 going on! Envy

Did Day 6 of Level 3 today.

One of the DCS had put sticky fingers on the disc and it started jumping about. THEN Grin it jumped a whole set of those squat jumps. Hahahahahahaaaaa! And jumped half of the last set of abs! Double Hahahahahahahaaaa!

I did a very very rough approximation of how long I needed to do the exercises for and did them anyway. But I know it wasn't as long as I should have done. I just did what I could manage.

Gave the disc a bit of hurrrrrr and a wipe with my top and it should be OK for when I resume next week.

What a stroke of luck, though, eh? Grin Grin Grin

flatmouse · 11/02/2011 15:51

I have to say, i really don't understand the phrase "phoning it in". I can guess what it means, but can someone please explain?
(Bet it is obvious once you tell me!)

Am going to have a 2 day break after 15 days non stop to let muscles recover.

Will continue with level 2 on Monday.

BalloonSlayer · 11/02/2011 15:57

I assumed it came from "phoning in sick" to work - in other words skiving off.

herbaceous · 11/02/2011 16:39

BS - you do make me laugh.

After waiting 90 minutes for DS to go to sleep for his nap, I gave up and tried shredding with him. It wasn't a great success. He kept crawling under and over me, and offering books for me to read, and finally sitting on me during sit ups. So, sadly, I had to give up after circuit 2.

javotte · 11/02/2011 18:32

Just finished day 6 of level 2. The last move is nearly impossible on my living room floor - my feet keep slipping back!

JelliBelli · 11/02/2011 19:27

javotte I had that trouble - I ended up putting my heels against a cupboard and it worked ok and I could then concentrate on the move.

The Urban Dictionary says to phone it in is to "Perform an act in a perfunctory, uncommitted fashion, as if it didn't matter". But doesn't show it's root.

Had another google and found "Phoning it in comes from the idea that a really lazy actor or singer might try to deliver a performance over the phone rather than actually coming in to work.

DontCallMeBaby · 11/02/2011 19:56

Second day of Level 3, with mat this time. Definitely made some things more comfortable, but had to move it around quite a bit (eg walking push-ups I had to switch it to sideways).

I am absolutely dripping with sweat; it's quite disgusting. But oddly satisfying.

flatmouse · 11/02/2011 20:55

Thanks jellibelli, I obviously "phoned it in" by not googling it myself! :)

Calyx · 11/02/2011 21:05

Greenfig if your knees are sore stretch your calves :) seriously! Front of knee pain often happens if you are using the calves and not stretching them. 2 x 20 second GENTLE calf stretches on each leg three times a day, if it is this then you will feel better in 2 or 3 days (if not immediately). Hope it works :)

sb6699 · 11/02/2011 21:36

I'll have to try that tip too Calyx.

Havent shredded since my last post - my knees have been agony. Although they're now fine when walking, etc, any jumping around still really hurts.

Lollypolly · 12/02/2011 00:55

Feeling guilty - didn't shred yesterday as I was very sore from that and pilates - after 4 days of shredding level 1. Will do my day 5 shred today - promise Grin

tummytickler · 12/02/2011 12:10

I haven't done it since Monday Blush Really need to get back on it, but been so busy and tired by the time I have actually had any time to myself.
Well done everybody! Doing well!

greenfig · 12/02/2011 14:04

Thanks v much calyx I think you could be right as my calves feel tired esp. during skippingHmm Did shred, zumba & walk on thurs but managed nothing yest due to long tiring day. Weight still rising slightly but don't notice gain in my clothes, feel more toned already Grin

javotte · 12/02/2011 17:09

Just done day 7 of level 2. This is getting easier every day! My arms, shoulders and abs look more toned.

herbaceous · 12/02/2011 17:19

Failed to do any today, due to substantial hangover. Having an afternoon nap was a far more appealing prospect. May have a go tomorrow!

Considering alternating between levels 2 and 3, to avoid getting too sulky about either of them...

neolara · 12/02/2011 18:51

Hello. Can I join please? I've started Shredding a couple of times in the past but have failed to get past day 6 of Level 1. I restarted the other day and tried my first day of level 2 today. Ow! When does it get easier?

BalloonSlayer · 12/02/2011 19:50

Welcome neolara!

I never found it getting easier but don't let that put you off.

Actually it's easier today as I don't do it at the weekend. Grin

javotte · 13/02/2011 18:46

Level 2, day 8! I'm quite proud of myself because I had some raw cake dough this afternoon (one of my major weaknesses) and I didn't binge.

southeastastra · 13/02/2011 18:49

day 5 of level 3 (missed one due to toothache) and i'm finding it harder and harder

the thigh and plank exercises are killers

conquita · 13/02/2011 23:04

After shredding for 2 months now [1 complete month of 30 days straight and one month of each level 3 times a week), I went back to level one this morning and did not break out into a sweat at all. I still have issues with press ups. But the cardio, abs etc were easy peasy. I am not boasting ladies, I am just writing this encouraging you to keep up with the shred as it proves your fitness levels just after a couple of months are amazing.

febes · 14/02/2011 01:43

I just did day 7 level 1 and I finally felt like it was a little easier!!! I had the weekend off and was scared that I would find it hard to get back in to it but it felt brilliant! I love the shred! I am watching level 2 and it looks great I can't wait to start it. I think I will do a few more days at level 1 though.

Lollypolly · 14/02/2011 06:46

Thanks conquita - good to know that this can be long term - was wondering what to do at the end of level 3 (when I eventually get there!). Did an hour of pilates this morning - even my teacher's legs were wobbly by the end so a good workout. Won't shred today but will do day 7 of level 1 tomorrow.

febes, I took a day off last week (should have been day 5) and was surprised at it being easier the next day - guess that giving muscles a rest for a day here and there isn't a bad thing. Well done!

flatmouse · 14/02/2011 10:16

Day 16 (level 2 day 6) today after having the weekend off. Felt easier to start with but was dying by the end again!! Those v-raises kill me (and i've only got 1kg weights).

Have to go "bathing suit" shopping on Saturday - it's still not going to be pretty - but at least it'll be better than it would have been 3 weeks ago!

susall · 14/02/2011 10:33

Didn't shred this weekend, drank wine and ate chocolate instead, heading upstairs to do the 6 week abs dvd then do a shred level, if I can muster the energy, if not I will do my shred after lunch. Kids are gonna play on the wii so will get left alone (I hope).

javotte · 14/02/2011 11:12

flatmouse those V-raises are indeed horrible. At the end I have to do 3 moves and pause for the 4th (I just do the squat).
