Thought I might take the liberty to start a new thread as can't seem to cram another post onto the old one and I have some positive news to start a new one with! :)

I have lost weight - almost as much as Jillian claims you will and have 2 days left!

------

Everyone is doing so well - putting me to shame with talk of Level 3 going on! Envy

for all of you who shred everyday, have seen results? In terms of toning up and losing weight?
I keep doing it on and off which obviously isn't good but I never seem to have time. If I could read about good results, it might get me more motivated :)

Labradorlover · 14/02/2011 11:40

Dontbugmemalone I've just done day 6 level 1 (took one day off ) and I'm definatly more toned. Started shredding to fit into a dress for this weekend. Wasn't sure if I'd see any change, but I tried on the dress today and already it isn't so tight. My jeans also feel looser. Don't know about weight as I don't weigh myself.
I've not been dieting, but have not been eating so many biscuits!

Dontbugmemalone · 14/02/2011 11:46

Thanks Labradorlover :)
That's just what i needed to read. I'll try and do it now but my ds likes to jump on me during sit ups Grin

flatmouse · 14/02/2011 12:36

Dontbugmemalone i did 15 days non-stop and lost total 18.5" (of where i measured!) and 3lbs (hardly worth getting on scales for!). Disclaimer ... i do have alot to loose!

Speaking to personal trainer/physio, she thinks that i should be doing rest days (hence taking the weekend off), to allow the muscles to recover. She recommends i only do 5 days out of 7.

I'm hoping to get back out running 2x a week but that is dependent on my calf. Certainly once i've done the 30 days i'll reduce how many shreds i do and mix it up with other activities.

OnlyWantsOne · 14/02/2011 14:13

can I wobble in

just did level 1 for the first time

[completely fucked emoticon]

Dontbugmemalone · 14/02/2011 14:38

flatmouse that sounds great. Congratulations for keeping it up :)
Do you feel more toned/have more energy?

I think that I need to lose the wobble rather than weight. Ok so I'll make sure I have rest days, thanks.

I did a little bit of zumba but didn't really like the dvd so I'll force myself to do the shred later :)

greenfig · 14/02/2011 16:10

OMG I think I'm going to die!
After a w/e off feeling lethargic (only managed a light game of badmintonBlush)I felt like lead today!
Anyone looking like Natalie yet?Hmm

notyummy · 14/02/2011 18:01

Haven't been shredding for a while because of some sunshine meaning long runs were more attractive. Have substituted other stuff though - Matt Roberts 'Fit for your shape' is quite good btw, but you have to be disciplined because it is a book so you have push yourself with noone shouting!

Did levels 2 and 3 back to back today and those jumping lunges HURT!

DontCallMeBaby · 14/02/2011 19:00

I have to decide in the next 15 minutes whether I'm shredding tonight ... did Thursday and Friday, went for a bike ride Saturday morning, but done nothing since then. I travelled with my parents last night to go to my uncle's funeral :( and we ate in the hotel, cooked breakfast this morning, lunch of wine and sausage rolls, and just had fish and chips for tea as we've got nothing in. Part of me just wants to lie on the sofa and feel sorry for myself, but I want to go out for a run tomorrow, then Wednesday it's swimming - I feel like if I don't shred this evening I'll never do it again!

Not sure if I want/need a kick up the bum or what.

Zeeky · 14/02/2011 20:02

Hi Shredders! I've been reading this thread with great interest & you have inspired me to give it a go.

I have recently stopped breastfeeding my 9mth old ds2 & want to get in shape for my brother's wedding in July. I've been going to zumba once a week & have been trying to eat healthily & cut all the crap i'd got used to eating while pregnant & breastfeeding. So far lost 3 pounds. Been looking for a short workout I can do at home while ds1 at preschool & ds2 asleep, but also one that will give quick results as I tend to lose my motivation if I don't see results! After Reading about the 30day shred on here & everyone's progress, I'm going to give it a go. Just downloaded level 1 onto my iPhone so that I can workout in the garage (where dh has gym mats & his weights). It looks pretty hardcore, but if it will help me shift my muffintop then it's worth a go Grin

javotte · 14/02/2011 20:04

Today was my day off [guilty emoticon]. Back on track tomorrow! I'm seriously thinking of reintroducing sugar in my diet as I'm afraid I might get fed up and binge.

javotte · 14/02/2011 20:07

dontcallmebaby :(
So, do you need that kick?
zeeky welcome!

DontCallMeBaby · 14/02/2011 21:46

javotte I self-kicked, glad I did. Collapsed in front of Glee now.

knottyhair · 15/02/2011 07:59

Hi everyone. Wondered if I could sneak in. I'm on Level 3 (started yesterday, doing it again this morning after school drop off). Just wondered if anyone else has "trouble" with the jumping lunges re: complete lack of coordination being a bit wobbly? I just can't seem to get it together! It's worse on one side. I wondered if it gets better the more you do it.

javotte · 15/02/2011 08:39

Hello! I've lost 1cm off my bum this week (that's 20cm, or 7 3/4 inches since Nov. 2nd!). Thighs are still out of proportion with the rest of my body :)

notyummy · 15/02/2011 08:46

Well done Javotte.

herbaceous · 15/02/2011 08:55

I've had THREE days off. I'll start again today, but I'm a bit scared! There's now less than two weeks before I have to display my arse in slinky frock at a wedding, so this shall be my motivation. Though I'm going to buy Spanx as well, just to be on the safe side!

JelliBelli · 15/02/2011 12:40

I had my 'measure-in' today - 12.5inch in total for bust, underbust, waist, hips, upper arms, and thighs. It was day 24 today. I have shredded everyday doing 10 days at each level. I have 'only' lost 5lbs but I understand and can feel that I have grown muscles.

I was feeling disillusioned yesterday but I will continue to stick with it. Please tell me it is not a slow change. Stamps foot impatiently.

I guess I shouldn't take a 3.5 inchloss from my waist in 3 weeks for granted!

BalloonSlayer · 15/02/2011 12:46

Hello people

< waves >

Didn't shred over the weekend as I don't, got cold and feel crapola so have given myself yesterday and today off. Am a bit worried I won't start again Confused so I thought I'd post just to remind myself not to give up.

Well done everyone, you all seem to be getting fab results. Grin

Zeeky · 15/02/2011 12:58

Wow JelliBelli - 3.5 inches off your waist in 3 weeks is amazing!!!

Going to do my first session of level 1 in a bit as soon as I can get the boys down for their naps. A bit nervous :(

Momentarynamechange · 15/02/2011 13:06

Second that Zeekie, everyone's inch loss is fantastic!! I think it's important to bear in mind you may not necessarily get smaller on the scales, but in terms of your body shape, there will be big changes...for the better Smile

Well I had a great shred-free weekend away and am ready to commence battle again this afternoon!

I've now really noticed my body shape has improved. I think I was tending to be over-critical - now I can see my jeans are loser (or looser?, how do you spell that lol?) and my tummy definitely has a something-pack. Feel very pleased Smile

Hopefully thighs and arms will follow suit in time...

hope everyone is having a good day

greenfig · 15/02/2011 13:24

That's fab jelli belli no longer me thinks!Wink Really admiring everyones motivation, def motivating me. Do you think it will massively stall progress my not doing every day? Really want to tone & strengthen but finding it difficult to do every day due to knee pain & general soreness. I do manage some exercise but not daily shred. Those that are sim to me but further on, are you feeling the benefits?

Momentarynamechange · 15/02/2011 13:53

I don't know if this is any help greenfig, but I did pilates fairly regularly before shredding, and the quad stretch would always really hurt both knees, one knee in particular.

Since shredding I can do full quad stretches without any pain in my knees. I can only think that shredding has strengthened them?

If it's really painful though, I reckon taking days off in between would be sensible, I'm sure you'd still see the benefits Smile

JelliBelli · 15/02/2011 13:57

Thanks fellow shredders Smile. Your reactions are great (modest person preening emoticon) and what I needed to hear. DH not here at present so no feedback and you know how you can't see change if you study the mirror each day and the scales don't tell me anything wonderful Wink.

Threestepsforward I have the same overcritical eyes. But, somehow, my 'main' pair of jeans are not looking much loser, so I think that fed the disillusion. Must focus on the tape measure.

Sadly I am still a jellibelli but it is definitely shrinking.

Greenfig I don't hink it will stall progress at all, it might slow your change down but I would think it will still come. I haven't had any joint pain but I have definitely had muscle soreness and my left calf is sore often. i usually just work through it, but listen to your body. On one occassion I had to swap the boxing cardio for a jump rope cardio as the jumping hurt it too much.

Zeeky · 15/02/2011 14:29

Flippin' 'eck! Just done my first shred!! Knackered! Jelly legs!

Not as sweaty as I thought I might be but maybe that is because I was in the garage which is cold or maybe didn't work hard enough?

Struggled a bit with the abs moves but mostly kept up with the cardio & strength ones. They make it look so easy!

I did some extra cool down stretches though as felt that she didn't do enough of those.
