Thought I might take the liberty to start a new thread as can't seem to cram another post onto the old one and I have some positive news to start a new one with! :)

I have lost weight - almost as much as Jillian claims you will and have 2 days left!

------

Everyone is doing so well - putting me to shame with talk of Level 3 going on! Envy
:)

day 30 complete 2 days ago. It took me 35 days.
Results: 3 kilos lost, 2.5cm off arms, 2 cm off bust (still breastfeeding)4 cm off waist, 6 cm off hips, 2 cm off thighs. I put all of my fat clothes under the bed and pulled out all of my old clothes. Woo hoo, it was like going on a huge free shopping trip.

I feel so much stronger and fitter.

the shred is such a great kick start to a new healthy lifestyle. I will definitely continue.

I have done Jillians Burn fat boost metabolism for the last two days. Its trickier to fit into the time my baby sleeps at 57 mins, but by the end I am so tired, then 5 mins later I feel amazing.

Ive also been slipping in a 20 min yoga dvd when I can.

At the same time I have been using myfitnesspal a free online community where you create a profile with your weight loss goals, and it tells you how much you can eat. You log all your food to find out how many calories.

I highly recommend all of these things.

notyummy · 10/03/2011 18:30

Wow that all sounds fantastic Tanso! I have literally just finished the BFBM in my hotel room and am dripping with sweat.

susall · 10/03/2011 19:22

Tanso well done on your loss thats pretty amazing.
I have not tried to do the BFBM dvd yet since I started doing all 3 shreds together, I would get to the second last then give up, must try it again and see how I go. I like it a lot, same with the 6 week abs one, you feel like you get a good whole body workout, may do a week of shred then a week of the other two dvds to mix things up a bit.

Zeeky · 11/03/2011 07:52

Oh poo! Got a stinking cold & feel like cr*p. No shredding today & I've only just managed to get back on it :(. Will I ever reach level 2????

knottyhair · 11/03/2011 08:10

Zeeky, that's rotten! Hope you feel better soon x

flatmouse · 11/03/2011 08:18

Bored and a little disappointed today. Just done day 6 level 1 for second time (hence the bored) - wondering which of her other dvd's to try? 6 week abs or BFBM or both? Disappointed because today's weigh-in, measure-in had me 2lbs in the wrong direction and no measure loss.

Going to increase run to 4 miles today (hopefully).

ClaireDeLoon · 11/03/2011 08:38

Well done Tanso!

I have the BFBM DVD but haven't unwrapped it yet as I think I'm still way too unfit for it. Might watch it today and see if any of it looks possible.

Pilates last night there was quite a bit of shoulder work (eg push ups with legs on the activity ball) that I found really tough as my shoulders were a bit achey from doing 30DS the night before. Need to do L2D8 today, I should be ready to start level 3 on Monday.

Good luck for your run flatmouse!

susall · 11/03/2011 09:11

Flatmouse Im the same with my weight and measurements these days, scales have been banished and very nearly chucked them out the window!!!
My measurements are not changing much but what keeps me going is the dents!!! They are not in places easily measured (knees, elbows, shins, shoulders) but there are loads of them and I keep thinking about Lostgirls snow drift thinking and can only hope that if I keep going that they will join together and the bigger drifts will start to melt.
I think DH is getting bored with me pointing out my dents or the muscle I have just found Grin. Poor him, nobody else has noticed so I need someone to brag to Smile

LostGirl · 11/03/2011 09:39

Grin great news about your dents susall . It is indeed an ongoing process. I have been training for 18 months and I seem to have suddenly had a huge thaw in the drifts on my thighs, finally!

Flatmouse try not to worry about the scales too much, if the tape measure starts going up then you need to have a rethink about what is happening but the scales aren't a great measure so try not to lose heart. Try not to expect to see reductions everytime you measure, especially if you do it once a week. The main difference between BFBM and 6weeks abs is that BFBM is about 50 minutes long and 6 weeks abs is only 35. It has some great ab work in which is used in some of her other dvd's such as side planks, inchworms etc but also a lot of crunching type exercises which latest studies are showing are not the best way to train your abs, and if you struggle with your back at all might be better avoided.

Claire you are not too unfit for BFBM, you will be able to cope just fine, just remember you are supposed to feel like you are going to die whilst you are doing it!

knottyhair · 11/03/2011 10:14

Morning everyone. I've just started back on Level 3 today. Def the hardest but I enjoy so much more than Level 2. I've also got BFBM but have yet to unwrap it! Will do next week, once I've got back into Level 3. Susall, dents are good!

CleverCircusFlea · 11/03/2011 11:02

Thanks, conquita:)
BalloonSlayer, I'm quite jealous of your muscle lines! Envy

I've just done Level 2 for the first time, it doesn't seem to "flow" as nicely as level 1 did, but really made me pant and sweat so i suppose it's doing it's job Grin

Decided not to measure and weigh myself until I finish level 2, don't want to get obsessed with numbers!

susall · 11/03/2011 11:14

I find level 3 goes so much faster than the other two for some reason and it sort of motivates me to do the other two. I always start with it as I hate the jumping jacks in the first one and the neck circles in the second one make me dizzy.
Not done my shreds yet as kids wanted biscuits made, tried making some for me but wheat free biscuits aint nice at all, they are all gritty and they stick in your throat so they will be going in the bin, saves me eating them all I suppose.

flatmouse · 11/03/2011 11:16

Sounds like i need to get BFBM and plan on doing that 2x per week doing maybe a shred diff level each day for 3x per week. Combine that with my running.

Well done everyone else. Susall yes, i see dents and would like to see more - glad your drifts are melting :)

Lostgirl I totally understand the concept re the scales, but can't get over the fact that i weigh a good 2 stone more than i should, so i want that weight to come down. I am pleased with the toning and inch loss over all so far - i just get frustrated that weight is not as i feel it should be.

notyummy · 11/03/2011 11:54

BFBM is overall harder on the cardio, but I get nowhere near the muscle burn I get with parts of the Shred. BFBM has a warm up and then 7 sections. I find 2 of these really quite hard, and a couple quite easy. It is doable- how difficult you find it will probably depend on how you find cardio in general. I am relatively cardio fit, so only find bits of it a struggle.

BalloonSlayer · 11/03/2011 12:16

Clevercircusflea don't be too jealous, I don't think anyone other than me would even notice. Oh maybe DH at gunpoint.

I wasn't going to shred today as I've hurt my knee a bit. But then I had a wonderful experience. I was out shopping and I felt something odd across the lower abdomen. It was the belt of my jeans pressing on my hip bones!! How long is it that my hip bones were the most sticky-out thing in that region? Shock

I was so delighted I shredded when I got home so as to keep up the good work.

so so so so pleased I started shredding Grin

flatmouse · 11/03/2011 13:52

Oooh Balloon get you and your hip bones :)
I went to go out for run, put on jacket - and it was loose over bum!! (that's a first - and have been wearing hi-vis one other times i'd been out).

Did the 4 miles which i was pleased about - even slightly improving on time.

JelliBelli · 11/03/2011 17:23

Flatmouse I am the same with the weight/measurements - although had a brief moment of hope Wednesday when I got to 'haicut/colour' weight, my reward for getting going. I will admit to being a bit flakey about shredding now I have completed it all. I was doing a couple of days at each level but I haven't the willpower to do it everyday now I have finished. Hopeless!

Anyway I've ordered 6W6P this morning so I shall press on and do that daily once i have a firm programme to follow again, I find that easy Confused.

I hope intend to start C25K in a few weeks when DH will have more time to nag cajole me into doing it 3x per week. Am now quite convinced I would keep putting it off if i do it alone. As I say hopeless!

On another note my Shock Absorber bra came yesterday. What a difference it makes compared to my last cheapy sports bra. My 32G honkers Shock barely move. Very happy with that Grin.

flatmouse · 11/03/2011 18:15

new look jelli, good job you got the shock absorber before starting C25k - will avoid getting black eyes whilst running! On that subject I realised that today's effort needs replacing as it wasn't doing all it could to keep them in situ on my run!

BalloonSlayer · 11/03/2011 18:22

What's 6W6P, JelliBelli?

notyummy · 11/03/2011 22:06

6 week 6 pack

ClaireDeLoon · 12/03/2011 08:33

Last night I realised that underneath the layers of fat on my arms I can feel muscles. DP was massively impressed. Now all I need is for the fat to melt away, lost 9lbs so far with WW in 5 weeks and have been shredding for just over 3 weeks managing to shred 5 days a week, plus Pilates one day a week. I still feel really committed to it all which is the best thing, and starting to see changes no matter how small helps with that.

knottyhair · 12/03/2011 08:57

Sounds like you're really in the zone, Claire - brilliant weight loss BTW! I've just done Level 3 (re-started yesterday after being ill for a week or so). I've been calorie counting as well and have lost nearly 11lbs since mid Jan, and some inches. I've got 6 Week 6 Pack on order, and Banish Fat in its cellophane wrapper for when DS is at school next week, just to give some variety. Anyone doing/done Level 3, do the plank row things with the weights hurt your hands? Holding my weights like that really hurts the heel of my hand. Any tips?

susall · 12/03/2011 10:23

I had issues with that one at the start too knottyhair as I only had 2lb weights which were the same size from top to bottom so there was no recess for my hands to sit away from the mat. I ended up grabbing the 4kg weights DH bought years ago, and never used, as they are bloody huge and my hands are nowhere near the floor, I also use them for the other strength move on level 3.
Argos has a good range of weights and all of them would allow you to do that move if you were able to buy new ones, I got the everlast ones for a £10 and they are 10lb combined but are rounded so not sure how steady they would be for that move, reebok ones have straight edges though.

knottyhair · 12/03/2011 12:02

Ooh that's a good idea, thanks susall. My weights are 2kg and I do find the other move very easy with these. I need to get some bigger ones!

BalloonSlayer · 12/03/2011 14:39

I found it hurt my hands too much to do, so I did the move Natalie Style without the weights at all and it still bloody killed me.

Someone on here - sorry I forget who! - said she used those weights that wrap around your wrist for that one.
