Thought I might take the liberty to start a new thread as can't seem to cram another post onto the old one and I have some positive news to start a new one with! :)

I have lost weight - almost as much as Jillian claims you will and have 2 days left!

------

Everyone is doing so well - putting me to shame with talk of Level 3 going on! Envy
:)

Well done with all the shredding going on.
Well another day of level 1 done and despite the aches it is getting easier, how is that. I read somewhere on here that you need to keep it up to get rid of the lactic acid build up, I think it may be true odd how I can ache but feel better as soon as I start... That sure is motivation alone to keep it up Grin

YouCantTeuchThis · 02/03/2011 12:57

Day 4 level 2...I nearly passed out. I even had a rest day yesterday Confused !! (Although I did go for a good stomp)

Actually feel sick now.

Good news is, am down another 2lbs (almost...the scales are a bot shaky...) so nearly time to celebrate the first half stone off Smile

Hope everyone else gets on better today!

DontCallMeBaby · 02/03/2011 15:32

I've got just two days left of Level 3 (I did eight days of Level 1 and nine of Level 2, so I'm determined to actually FINISH Level 3) but I'm not quite getting there. I felt a bit feeble on Monday so just did some Wii Fit stuff, yesterday I just didn't have time, and today I've given blood and am not allowed to do 'vigorous exercise' (and I do feel a bit wobbly).

I'll get there though - but then what? I'm not sure I want to go back to Level 1 ... well, I might, just to see if it feels different now. But I'd like to give something else a go.

Momentarynamechange · 02/03/2011 16:37

Well done all you Shredders and well don't YouCan't for the briliant weight loss Grin

Level 3 done again today. I really have to decide on a plan to follow in the near future as I can't drift along in level 3 for the rest of my life! Will put off doing that over the next couple of months though as we're having major work done to the house and I doubt I'll have access to my DVD player...dreading it!!

keep going everyone Smile

Momentarynamechange · 02/03/2011 16:38

DontCallMeBaby your name isn't a tribute to Gillian in Level 3 is it?

A feeling like your name goes through me every time she says it!

DontCallMeBaby · 02/03/2011 17:29

Ha, my name way predates even knowing that Jillian existed, but it IS rather apt!

I mostly quite like her - but in the incarnation in which she appears in the Shred. She's quite pale, and not actually scarily muscled. More recent photos she's VERY American, all teeth and tan and look at my flat belly.

flatmouse · 02/03/2011 17:33

Level 3 day 9 done (at 7am but this is first chance to update)
Much better time of day for me - even lasted both rounds of plank rows with leg raises a la Natalie!
1 more day to go woo hoo! Expecting major overnight avalanches to rid self of all remaining drifts by shred completion tomorrow (I wish!)
I guess my body doesn't understand the concept of global warming and I'll need to do entire shred cycle a couple more times before these drifts melt away!!

Well done YCTT on the weight loss. I need to figure out how to achieve that

Momentarynamechange · 02/03/2011 19:28

I think I'm a little bit in love with her actually Blush

Momentarynamechange · 02/03/2011 19:29

Yay flatmouse!
Do you have any idea of what you'll do next? Are you going back to the beginning?

notyummy · 02/03/2011 19:42

Ooooh threesteps has got a girl crush.....

flatmouse · 02/03/2011 19:57

I'm going to groundhog shred - as long as it's still a challenge ( and I reckon it'll be a challenge a while longer yet).

Will do a couple of runs a week once I can persuade myself!

Momentarynamechange · 02/03/2011 20:27

I know it's tragic isn't it notyummy lol Do you think I'm suffering from a form of Stockholm Syndrome? Grin

Flatmouse I'll be doing the same I think. ALthough after a fair few weeks of time off so it will probably feel like starting from scratch!

Have a good evening all Smile

ClaireDeLoon · 02/03/2011 20:28

I've got a bit of a girl crush too threesteps! I miss her telling me I'm strong now I've moved up to level 2!

Flatmouse well done, nearly shredded!

I've had a shitty day that included lots of self pitying weeping over various issues, some weeping was at my desk Blush luckily I have my own office and the door was closed. I skipped the shred last night so tonight I did day 2 of level 2, and now I've done that I feel TONS better and much more positive.

Did anyone else struggle with those oblique twists? I start off ok then it degenerates into some random bunny hop thing, not with good form at all!

Labradorlover · 02/03/2011 23:45

threesteps def Stockholm Syndrome, surely....
And I'd like to tell Gillian that she can stuff her motivational jeans shopping up her touche, as I can fit in my old jeans now Grin.
I'm thinking of taking up running, WTF is happening to me?

susall · 03/03/2011 08:23

Well scales say I have been doing absolutely nowt for the last 2 1/2 months as I weigh more than I did before (I know they are evil) I thought with some of the shape changes I have had that it would equate to at least a small loss of weight, but no Sad. I just wish the melt would start happening more on areas other than my ankles, knees and elbows. DH was amazed at the dent down the side of my thigh though and it wasnt pointed out to him (gosh makes him sound like a serial gropper Grin).
I need heavier weights now as I can do all 3 levels back to back (well a little sit down between each but nothing longer than 5 mins) and since friday I have done 15 shreds and 30 mins step on more ea active. Did not shred yesterday as kids wanted to make a cake in the afternoon but I had done the step in the morning so was ok about it. Will be back around 9 and am back at school for 10.50 so will see what I can fit in before I need to go for my shower.

knottyhair · 03/03/2011 09:11

Wow, Susall, I think what you're able to do is amazing. The scales can indeed be evil but try to hang on to the changes you're seeing in your body, and remember that muscle weighs more than fat! Also your fitness levels are very impressive, doing 3 levels back to back like that, and I bet you couldn't have done that when you started. Bloody fantastic, I say! Smile

greenfig · 03/03/2011 09:50

Phoned it in yest! Did 1 1/2hrs pilates then HAD to muck out house after 1/2 term! Planned to do it after babes in bed but had a glass of wine while making world book day costumes in front of Masterchef! Have done L2 today & off to zumba tonight. Feeling a bit bored of L2 already & my shoulders feel solid, not at all feminineHmm Might try L3 tom. but worried about gargling my heartGrin

notyummy · 03/03/2011 09:51

Wow Susall - that is really impressive! 15 shreds in less than a week Shock. Perhaps some reasonably challenging yoga or pilates to add to your cardio and strength could be good? I find it really helps to stretch me out, and also elongates me so the newly tones/built muscles are long and lean. I do the Kristin MacGee ones from Amazon that aren't 'purist' yoga/pilates (that I get a bit bored with Blush. Her ones a bit more challenging strength and stretching wise and I would recommend.

jcb69 · 03/03/2011 10:45

Hello. At last I've found some fellow shredders! I love this dvd and have been doing it since mid-January, but when I tell people about it they look at me blankly. About to go for a run then a Level 3, but have a bit of a chesty cough, so might end up literally "gargling my heart".
Training for Great North Run as well.
greatnorthtrytorun.blogspot.com
I enthuse about Jillian a lot on here and intend to review the dvd thoroughly before I move onto her 6 week 6 pack.
OK - I'm bracing myself for those rock star jumps................

flatmouse · 03/03/2011 15:49

I'm shredded!!

Weigh-in/measure-in is first thing tomorrow, so i'll update on what my first round of shredding did for me!

Starting again tomorrow (after weigh-in/measure-in) at that nice, kind, gentle level 1 :)

CleverCircusFlea · 03/03/2011 16:17

I bloody hate circuit 1 on level 1, it makes me realize just how unfit I am:(

jcb69 · 03/03/2011 16:39

It's funny though isn't it - I usually feel awful on circuit 1 of Level 1, yet by the cardio of circuit 3 I'm feeling pretty good! Makes you want to do it again the next day though....................sometimes!

susall · 03/03/2011 16:44

Thanks guys, when I first started doing level 1 I wanted to cry by the end of it. The scales had more of an effect on me than I wanted them to today and I did phone it in as I could not get motivated at all but will get back on track tomorrow and the scales will be evicted from the house again. Now on to the task of talking DH into buying me a new set of weights Grin

LostGirl · 03/03/2011 16:57

susall please don't be disappointed by the scales not moving. My weight hasn't changed in about a year but my body is still definitely changing every month. The scales are not an accurate measure of how you are doing, a tape measure and photos will give you a far more accurate picture of how you are doing. It sounds like you have achieved a huge amount in the last couple of months but that the shred is no longer a challenge for you. If you are going to get a new set of weights then how about buying a set of adjustable dumbbells, this way you can increase the weight whenever you need to, rather than having to fork out for a new pair every month, and you could also use them to try a couple of weightlifting routines where you can vary the weight depending on the exercise and it will present a new challenge to your body so you keep seeing results.

Momentarynamechange · 03/03/2011 17:26

Definitely Susall, evict those scales!! My waistband on my old-favourites pair of jeans is flapping me around me now, and I'm 99% sure I haven't lost a bean in weight.

Level 3 again!!! Not too worried about not pushing myself further at this point though as I'm still a mess by the end, it must still be doing me good.

I like level 3 as it seems to focus on the 'tush' (sp?) and overall that's where I need the most work...

Glad you found us jcb69 Smile
