Thought I might take the liberty to start a new thread as can't seem to cram another post onto the old one and I have some positive news to start a new one with! :)

I have lost weight - almost as much as Jillian claims you will and have 2 days left!

------

Everyone is doing so well - putting me to shame with talk of Level 3 going on! Envy

Hi! Just popping in to say I'm OK after eating round the clock on Saturday. I can't shred ATM because I'm badly bruised after I fell down the stairs, but I should be able to start again next week.

southeastastra · 22/02/2011 09:20

blimey febes, scary hope you're all ok

Momentarynamechange · 22/02/2011 09:30

Febes, I'm so sorry, are you actually in Christchurch?

My Dad lived there until fairly recently, he's now in Nelson. They have lots of friends there and i can imagine it's going to be a worrying time trying to find out if everyone is okay Sad

So glad you're okay xx

Momentarynamechange · 22/02/2011 09:30

Hi Javotte Smile

BalloonSlayer · 22/02/2011 09:39

Gosh febes, hope you are all OK.

Javotte, hope you feel better too.

ClaireDeLoon · 22/02/2011 09:51

Oh Febes I hope all your family and friends are OK.

Javotte sorry to hear about your fall it sounds very sore, get better soon.

I'm having a rest day today after doing level 1 day 6 yesterday. I have my first appointment at the recurrent miscarriage clinic today and feel very nervous about it so wish me luck!

knottyhair · 22/02/2011 10:07

Hope it goes OK for you ClaireDeLoon. Javotte, that sounds nasty, take care. Febes, again, hope everything is OK x

Labradorlover · 22/02/2011 10:37

Sending my best wishes to all of you above.
And on a lighter note....Why did no-one warn me about the fanny farts with level 2 ( or is it just me? ). Started off thinking level 2 was ok, swearing and giving up on the weights by the end Blush

Momentarynamechange · 22/02/2011 10:52

Oh gosh Javotte, just read your post properly, was caught up in whole Christchurch sadness earlier and rushed through the posts Blush

Hope you are okay and on the mend soon

I'll be doing one Shred today, am aching a bit, and won't be attempting Notyummy's interval stuff as I just don't think I have it in me today... I shall save that for another time!

Hope everyone is having a good, and safe, day

greenfig · 22/02/2011 12:25

febes wishing you all well from here, keep safe. javotte poor you! I hope it wasn't wobbly legs due to Jillian?
Having started beginning of Feb have FINALLY completed day 10 level 1 Blush Level 2 here I come! Am pleased to report that despite not doing every day I have seen an improvement in fitness & strength. Was in Cornwall for w/e & whipped up the hill in the village (usually a killer for me). Am super impressed at you pros, having never been a keen exerciser I bow to you! Am really enjoying this though, great to see something actually happening before I've got boredGrin
Off to check the news on NZ

javotte · 22/02/2011 13:19

Thank you all. Nothing to do with Jillian, I just slipped... thank God I wasn't carrying DD at the time. My right side looks like a giant bruise, but luckily nothing is broken :)
febes I hope you're OK.

sparkle101 · 22/02/2011 15:36

Hi ladies

Jillian has finally found her way out of the cellophane and I'm starting this week but was just wondering if you could tell me what weight dumbells I would need and the best place to get them from.

TIA.

flatmouse · 22/02/2011 15:47

febes how scary - hope you and your family are ok.

javotte ouch! I had a bruised tail-bone for well over a year following a slip downstairs - hope you heal soon.

After a 2 day break workout (ok, 2 days spent running around a waterslide park with some abs workout to keep bum off slide when on rubber ring for increased speed, and some upper arm toning carrying the rubber rings around, not to mention leg toning climbing all the stairs constantly to the top of the next ride) I'm now back doing Level 3 day 2.

Found it as hard as ever but noticed i managed for longer before collapsing out of plank - even managing 2/3rds of the first plank walk in proper position!

Have decided i need to loose at least another 5 inches off both belly and bum - if i do that, i reckon the rest will follow suit! (It's going to take a while tho).

CleverCircusFlea · 22/02/2011 15:59

Hello, shred virgin here!Grin
DVD, exercise mat and weights are on their way from amazon... I have got a sports bra and a pair of trainers gathering dust somewhere. Is there anything else i need? I'm also now a bit worried that the weights I bought are too light (2 x 1kg), but I am rather weak and unfit, will they be ok?
Will I die? Shock Grin

knottyhair · 22/02/2011 16:05

Hi Sparkle101. It's difficult to know what weights you would need. I could only manage 1.5kg when I started but now use 2kg. But I know there are others here who use heavier ones! I got my first set from a sports shop (half kilo, 1 kilo, 1.5 kilo set) and my 2kg ones from Amazon. I think I remember reading somewhere that you're meant to be able to do the number of reps required but no more - in Jillian speak, "your muscles should be SCREAMING right now!". So it might be a case of trying some different weights to see what's best. There are a couple of moves where I still need to go down to 1.5 kilos actually Blush.

knottyhair · 22/02/2011 16:06

x-posted CleverCircusFlea! Sounds like you've got everything you need! Try the 1kg ones and see how you go. You won't die, honest Grin.

sparkle101 · 22/02/2011 16:09

Thanks knottyhair will have a look around then and see what feels good. Have watched it through once and started off by thinking, "oh this looks easy" and about 5 mins later I wanted to run away! I'll be fine!!!

flatmouse · 22/02/2011 16:10

I'm still using 1kg ones cause I'm a wuss with no upper body strength! I suspect I'll stick with 1kg for a good while yet - I can still feel it.

notyummy · 22/02/2011 17:58

Weights- would say a set that covers 1kg, up to 5kg would be a good investment as it would cover you for quite a while as you get fitter. Argos, amazon, asda and tesco all have sets.

febes · 22/02/2011 19:06

Yes I'm in Christchurch. We had lots of after shocks over night so not a great sleep but we are all together staying at my sisters. There are lots of loss of life and rescues still taking place. The city is totalled.Sad
I have lost most of the stuff in my pantry as it was all in nice glass jars (like jamie oliver) and lots of the stuff that I have collected around the world on my travels.

Momentarynamechange · 22/02/2011 19:27

Oh febes, I'm so sorry Sad Thank god you and yours are all okay. I have a friend who's been there a while and I lost his contact number a while back - I can only hope that he, his wife and his baby are all okay...

It seems shallow now to post about shredding, so I won't, as I didn't do it today! Instead I raided our cupboards and best I could find was half a packet of sponge fingers, I scoffed the lot, the tiramisu will have to wait! (blaming it on hormones)

I will be shredding tomorrow Smile

knottyhair · 22/02/2011 19:53

Febes, so glad you & your family are OK. We've watched the BBC film on the website and feel so awful for you all. Thinking of you tonight x

conquita · 22/02/2011 22:53

Febes I am really relieved you are ok. The news footage is quite upsetting. It must have been so scarey for you especially with the aftershocks. I am glad you have your family around you. On a lighter note, I think Killian would forgive you for not shredding yesterday or at least until you are settled again Smile Take care.

Zeeky · 23/02/2011 08:23

Glad you're ok febes. Makes me feel grateful that we don't get proper earthquakes in the uk.

Haven't shredded since Sunday. Binged on Monday - ate 1000 calories more than I should have Shock. I thought a couple of days rest would make my knee feel better but it feels worse today - really weak, like it's about to give out especially when going diwnstairs. Don't think I will be able to do jumping jacks etc. Do you think I should give it a go anyway or just cut out the high impact stuff & do punches instead for the cardio bits? Should be day 7 level 1.

knottyhair · 23/02/2011 08:44

Hope things are OK febes. Zeeky, I'd be careful if I were you. You know how your knee feels, but I don't think it's just the high impact stuff that could be problematic, I would think that anything where you bend the knee (and there's a lot!) could be bad. I guess you could try it without any squats or high impact stuff. Have you had your knee checked out? Sorry if you've already explained this Smile. I've done Level 1 again today seeing as I keep having to have about every other day off. Hoping to get back to Level 3 next week. I've also just got Jillian's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism DVD - has anyone done this?
