Thought I might take the liberty to start a new thread as can't seem to cram another post onto the old one and I have some positive news to start a new one with! :)

I have lost weight - almost as much as Jillian claims you will and have 2 days left!

------

Everyone is doing so well - putting me to shame with talk of Level 3 going on! Envy

Excellent labradorlover. Javotte HAVE some cake - can be just a small slice. A diet shouldn't be a punishment it should be a change of lifestyle. If it's going to make you miserable you need to adjust it.

Am aching a bit today after yesterday's day whatever (Level 2 day 8 i think) - must have tried extra hard! Having realised i can't do the last plank abs (my attempts don't seem to work anything but shoulders) i have swapped that to the cycle crunches of Level 1.

javotte · 17/02/2011 12:39

I couldn't resist my tiramisu layer cake and had a small slice. Now I feel like emptying the biscuit cupboard. Why do I always do that? I'm leaving the house to avoid temptation.

Zeeky · 17/02/2011 12:44

Javotte I know what you mean - I'm an all or nothing kind of person with food treats. I've tried to allow myself a couple of squares of chocolate as a treat when I am craving it but then end up eating the whole bar as once I start I can't stop. I'm better off just not having any!

susall · 17/02/2011 15:06

Arghhhh I cannot get into shredding this week at all!!!
Every time I even go near the bloomin dvd's the kids (who are on holiday) start fighting or come to find out what I am doing and I feel bad for shouting at them not to open the door when Im mid plank as they will knock me out.
I so cant wait untill monday when things get back to normal, plus I dont think me planning on doing a shred and another of her dvds each day, 6 days a week was a good idea, it leaves me dreading it as its all I ever seem to be doing these days.
Think I will start at level 1 again and do 1 week of each level then a week of abs and a week of banish fat, may treat myself to heavier weights so level 1 is a more challenging workout.

ClaireDeLoon · 17/02/2011 15:45

Hello all can I join you please? I started with the Shred last night. I'm about 4st overweight and I also started weightwatchers two weeks ago.

I really really struggled with the push ups - I have no upper arm strength and lots of weight to push! And that was the easier routine 'Anita'. WIll these get easier if just keep trying? I literally couldn't do them at all!

sarahbuff · 17/02/2011 15:46

The DVD arrived this morning, so I did day 1 of Level 1. It really wasn't too bad! I did modify some of the moves as I'm still sore from the stuff I did on Monday... Twas quite sweet though as I had three little boys doing jumping jacks with me. Grin Hoping to work my way up to doing all the moves unmodified by the end of week 1. Here's hoping! :)

sarahbuff · 17/02/2011 15:47

Claire Don't feel bad, I can only do 8-10 pushups each time, doing the modified one. The longer you do them, the more strength you'll build up and as you lose weight that will help too!

knottyhair · 17/02/2011 16:49

ClaireDeLoon, I started the Shred about a month ago, and I had to do the modified version in Level 1. I'm now on Level 3 and can do the travelling full push ups - I never thought I'd be able to do full push ups, believe me, I was very unfit! So keep trying, and you'll surprise yourself!

Momentarynamechange · 17/02/2011 16:53

phew, level 3 again today. Having to really psych myself up for it this week, not as up-and-at-em as I was before.

Think I may do level 1 or 2 tomorrow as I'm getting fed up of being called Baby!!

Hope everyone's having a good day Smile

javotte · 17/02/2011 18:39

Can't shred today either... DH "can't" look after the DCs for 1/2h... :(

javotte · 17/02/2011 20:25

I've binged. I'm such a failure. :(
At least I only had tiny portions of lots of things (bread, cake, chocolate... did I tell you I'm a carb addict?).
On the plus side I enjoyed every mouthful of it.

BalloonSlayer · 17/02/2011 20:59

Claire I am on Level 3 now and I still can't do proper pushups. I can go down a little way but that's it. I am really really weedy. Just trying is something.

javotte you're NOT a failure! We all have our moments of weakness, it's not the end of the world. Tomorrow is another day!

I did Level 2 today, and intend to be back to Level 3 tomorrow. But it's Half Bloody Term next week. Balls! I wonder if I will manage to do any shredding at all. I might find it easier trying to get away from the DCs I suppose...

I am surprised at the way different muscles have ached with me re-visiting Levels 1 and 2 this week. I think when I have FINALLY done 10 days of Level 3 I might aim for one of each level per week.

Keep going everyone [Young Mr Grace voice] We're All Doing Very Well.

Momentarynamechange · 17/02/2011 21:23

Aw, Javotte, you are doing great. Like Balloon said tomorrow is another day. One 'bad' day (and it doesn't even sound that bad!) is not going to undo all your fantastic hard work.

I think if you're dieting you sometimes need a mini blowout or it will come and bite you on the bum even harder (at least I know it does/did with me!)

You've done bloody well so keep that foremost in your mind Smile

javotte · 17/02/2011 21:30

Thanks threestepsforward and ballonslayer. Lots of stress ATM (DH has just lost his job + 2 sleepless nights in a row because DD's ill). I don't know if I'll manage to get back on track tomorrow.

southeastastra · 17/02/2011 21:31

i hate with a passion those 'superman' things

conquita · 18/02/2011 00:05

Just did level 1, level 2 and level 3 together. Jesus christ I was sweating like crazy, but I feel really really good! This is what you ladies will be able to do after two months of shredding. You will achieve incredible fitness levels. I still cannot do pushups properly though, I am no way near the weight I should be for my height, but my body is shrinking and clothes are looking more acceptable.

febes · 18/02/2011 06:37

Just did day 9 level 1 so one more and I'll move up to level 2. I'm ready to go up levels too- ready for the challenge!!
It has taken me 2 weeks to get to day 9 though but I do aquafit once a week and go walking twice a week.

notyummy · 18/02/2011 07:12

Omg Conquita- well done! What version of all the exercises were you doing? Please font tell me you were using 5lg weights as well! Grin

javotte · 18/02/2011 08:02

Thanks again for your support girls. There's no one I can talk to in RL about my eating disorder (DH dismisses it as "privileged Western people's self-created problem"). I really, really want to shred today!

flatmouse · 18/02/2011 08:03

Not happy. 3 week weigh-in/measure-in today.
I know i shouldn't complain or get disheartened because over all inch loss for 3 weeks is 22" which is a huge amount.

BUT i have been so good this week keeping carbs/cals down, eating very healthily (drinking much curtailed too) and i lost NO weight this week. NONE, Nada, zip. I have > 2 stone to loose and it's going nowhere.
Yes i'm slimmer and more toned and clothes are looser and that's great but I WANT TO LOOSE WEIGHT.

Big sigh, rant over, Level 2 day 10 to do in a bit.

Onwards!

Javotte hope things improve for you soon.

Joby1970 · 18/02/2011 08:09

flatmouse - it's taken me a while but the scales really don't matter. I look slimmer than a lot of my friends & I am deffo fitter - so what is more important? The tape measure is a much better form of measurment than scales that cannot tell the diff between fat & muscle.

javotte · 18/02/2011 08:34

flatmouse I know how frustrating it is. I also can't seem to lose the last stone. This is where I've always given up in the past. Keep going!

knottyhair · 18/02/2011 08:46

Does anyone use one of the online trackers to monitor your calorie intake? I wanted to lose a stone when I started the Shred a month ago, and I've lost 9lb so far, but I couldn't have done it without keeping track of my calories. To lose 1lb a week, you have to eat 500 calories less per day than you need to maintain your weight, and even when you think you're being good, it's hard to know exactly what you're eating, and very easy to over-do it. I use Livestrong/myplate, but there's also Foodfocus I think. These 2 are both free. Just wanted to share what has helped me!

ClaireDeLoon · 18/02/2011 09:10

Wow Conquita that's very impressive!

knottyhair I do weight watchers because I need the discipline of going to a meeting and getting weighed every week but I do use their iPhone app to track my points.

I have a lot of weight to lose and it is frustrating when you make a big effort and it doesn't show on the scales. I just think of long term goals, we'd like to start tttcing again in a few months and I want to be as close to a healthy weight as possible.

I did shred again last night so Day 2 and I don't ache as much this morning!

flatmouse · 18/02/2011 09:16

Thanks for the positive thoughts! I do know it's not all about the weight but you just can't help but want to loose the weight too!

Have done my Level 2 Day 10 - really worked hard - no phoning it in Wink Finally worked out (i am a bit slow at times) that if i adjust my hand position for the planks like i did for the press ups (ie hand in a fist holding weights on floor) i can survive for longer!

Am now watching level 3 OMG! Anyone notice Anita made the superman's harder for herself by not resting her arms down (assume that's harder as keeping the tension). They make those sumo squats look so easy don't they! Bet they're not.
