Thought I might take the liberty to start a new thread as can't seem to cram another post onto the old one and I have some positive news to start a new one with! :)

I have lost weight - almost as much as Jillian claims you will and have 2 days left!

------

Everyone is doing so well - putting me to shame with talk of Level 3 going on! Envy

Well done Zeeky. Most of the rest of us were pretty uncomfortable tomorrow, so don't feel badly if you do too.

Don't forget to take photo and take your measurements so you can compare further down the line.

Momentarynamechange · 15/02/2011 15:51

yay, well done Zeeky Smile

Knottyhair was it you who mentioned the jumping lunges? I find them really hard too. I can spring up but can't put my 2 legs down at the same time, have to do one at a time.

(and I'm sure Nathalie is in fact a robot, have you noticed she doesn't answer any questions, she just grins manically?)

level 3 done for the day after a few days off, and it was okay. I find I get really carried away with the last set of rock star jumps whilst wheezing like an old woman

herbaceous · 15/02/2011 16:13

I've just done level 3 after a few days off, and while I did call Jillian an utter bastard a few times, it wasn't too bad. I find the first circuit a nightmare, the second fine, and the third easier as it's the home straight. Though I am much more Anita than Natalie...

herbaceous · 15/02/2011 16:14

Actually, scratch that. Feeling a bit faint!

knottyhair · 15/02/2011 17:01

Thanks threesteps, I think I need to do a mixture of Anita & Natalie for the lunges. I just feel so ungainly and am glad noone is watching me!

flatmouse · 15/02/2011 17:03

Just done level 2 day 7 so day 17 altogether.
Well done Javotte every cm counts and JelliBelli all those inches!

I reckon my posture has improved massively which is also making me look "slimmer" (relative term) and would probably justify those that have commented on the fact that it is very noticeable in my "trunk" area

Still hate the planks of level 2 (and struggle to hold them) - the last abs one i don't think i'm doing it at all right but don't seem to be capable of making it right!

OnlyWantsOne · 15/02/2011 18:26

going to do day 2 level 1 when DP gets home so he can hold DD2

I ache today, especially my arms, legs and tummy... (everywhere)

picking up 10lb baby this morning was agony!!

Zeeky · 15/02/2011 18:53

Hi onlywantsone I'm a fellow new shredder! I'm dreading getting up in the morning to aching body. It's walking downstairs & sitting down on the toilet that I usually struggle with after exercise so will just have to wait & see how I am tomorrow. Definitely want to keep at it for at least 5 days a week.

javotte · 15/02/2011 19:35

Shredded z little later than usual because DH was busy.
I've decided to take DS to the swimming pool for his birthday Grin. He's 4 and he's never been there because I used to be too embarrassed...

OnlyWantsOne · 15/02/2011 20:54

Just done day 2 of level 1.

Urgh

Labradorlover · 16/02/2011 09:10

Flatmouse I reckon you're right about the posture bit, I seem to be standing taller as well as feeling my ab muscles return, after a long abscence Grin

sarahbuff · 16/02/2011 11:03

Hi everyone! Just joining this thread after a mum on my postnatal thread mentioned the 30 day shred, I looked it up and ordered the dvd! Grin As it hasn't arrived yet, on Monday I did less than 10 minutes of a youtube of level 1, plus another 10 minutes of some Tae Bo, and BOY have my thighs been hurting yesterday and today. I mean, I majorly dread sitting down, getting up, going up and particularly down the stairs! I know I'm unfit (DC4 is 13 weeks old), but was jogging then walking over 2 miles 5 mornings a week before and while pregnant. Haven't done anything since she was born, and I'm quite disappointed how quickly my fitness has disappeared! I'm hoping the soreness will subside in time for me to start the DVD when it comes, I am really surprised how sore I am. I did a bit on the elliptical trainer this morning to try to loosen up my thighs a bit, but they almost feel worse than yesterday. Yikes. Anyway, in case anyone is interested, my starting stats are

Weight: 11 stone 4lbs
Waist: 85cm
Hips: 106cm
Thigh: 58
Upper Arm: 28cm

Will post midway through (Day 15 or thereabouts) and after day 30. I plan to do it early morning so am hoping I will actually manage to do it everyday, but if not I'm sure it will still help to improve my fitness hugely.

Joby1970 · 16/02/2011 12:37

sarahbuff - don't be too disheartened by aching - there are some of us on here who had fitness programs b4 we started the Shred & we still ached like buggery!!

BalloonSlayer · 16/02/2011 12:54

Afternoon All!

After not Shredding for 4 days, I thought rather than resume Level 3 I would do Level 1 today, Level 2 tomorrow and get back to Level 3 on Friday.

I still found Level 1 hard!

I did do the cardio and abs fine, which I never did when I was officially on Level 1, but the strength - ay caramba I still struggle.

And now my legs ache.

But I have at least re-started!

Momentarynamechange · 16/02/2011 14:33

oh I can't be bothered to shred today [stamps foot petulantly]...but I will, I will, I will... later lol

Just realised that I've been doing it all in bare feet, it actually didn't occur to me until this morning as the only other exercise dvd I do is pilates and that's in bare feet. And just looked for my ancient trainers and can't find them, may have thrown them out!

Does anyone know if it's okay to do without shoes? I'm on a soft rug and haven't felt any ill effects so far...

notyummy · 16/02/2011 14:42

Trainers best - pretty high impact on the joints in parts.

BalloonSlayer · 16/02/2011 14:52

I started doing it barefoot and I ended up with very sore shins/ankles. I quite frightened myself. Like you I was doing it on a soft carpet, and it was much easier without trainers. Until... ow!

Momentarynamechange · 16/02/2011 15:03

Better to be safe than sorry I guess, thanks guys Smile.

Will see if I can pick up a cheapie pair at the weekend, not really got the dosh to spare at the moment so will have to look for a bargain... Might check the cloakroom again though as it's like a black hole in there!

Right, psyching myself up now, it's only 20 minutes, how bad can it be? bloody bad

Have a good rest of day everyone!

Zeeky · 17/02/2011 08:48

Right, off to do day3 level1. Aching has subsided today so my body must be adjusting.

I have to say that Jillian is a very good motivator with all the business of "when it hurts that means your body is changing" as it really makes me carry on for the last few moves when I think I'll die if I don't stop!

southeastastra · 17/02/2011 08:50

i have been on level 3 for over two weeks now and although feel fitter have not lost anything! anyone else have this? am finding the plank things hard too as get a throbbing head as i do them.

wondering if i should give level 2 another go for a week or so that seemed to taget belly area.

i also do in bare feet.

knottyhair · 17/02/2011 09:53

I've just done Day 3 of Level 3 (but had a day off yesterday) and found it the hardest yet! Had to do a lot more Anita versions of things. I did find though on the other 2 levels that Day 3 was a bit of a struggle for some reason, and I guess the day off yesterday didn't help. I'm going to do a Davina one tomorrow just to mix it up a bit, then we've got friends staying for the weekend, although I may try to squeeze one in on Sunday morning. Might go back to Level 1 for a day after a couple of days off, then Level 2 for a day and work myself back up to Level 3. southeastastra, I've been losing about a pound a week, not loads, but I've been calorie counting as well using Livestrong/myplate. A lot of people seem to report that shredding makes you lose inches rather than pounds - I bought a tape measure yesterday and will measure myself tomorrow as well as weighing-in as normal. I bet if you measured yourself you'd find you've lost inches!

javotte · 17/02/2011 10:22

Hello! Couldn't shred yesterday, not sure I'll be able to today. I'm getting really fed up with the diet. Today is DS's birthday, I want a piece of cake!!!

Labradorlover · 17/02/2011 10:49

Day 9 of level 1, and my too tight dress now fits!!! Really can't believe it!

Labradorlover · 17/02/2011 10:50

DH thought I was holding my tummy in Grin

knottyhair · 17/02/2011 10:51

Wow, labradorlover, that's fantastic Smile!
