Welcome one and all to our 3rd thread Grin

If you're just starting out or you've been following WW for a while and you're looking for support you've come to the right place!

There are lots of regulars who are well on their weigh (get it! Wink) and others who have just joined us - we're a mixed bag, all shapes and sizes and all with different goals to achieve but we're all striving for the same thing. We're all here to will one another on with advice, support and lots of cheering!

Androbbob is our resident stat checker and keeps us motivated by totting up the total weight loss each week. So far this week we have already lost over 37lbs collectively! I believe in total there has been over a 9 stone loss since the thread started!

We're quite fast moving at times so just dive in and make yourself at home Grin

IHeartIona · 10/02/2011 14:18

well done vnmum - that is wonderful!!

what happens next out of interest, do you go on Maintenance and get some more pp's?

weighed myself this morning (before putting my lenses in though so not sure!) and am hoping for a loss tonight at WI

vnmum · 10/02/2011 14:21

Iheart If i don't want to lose abit more personally then i go on maintenace and get a few more points. Not sure how many coz my leader didn't have a maintenance book so should get that next week

bigTillyMint · 10/02/2011 14:24

vnmum well done Wine

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/02/2011 14:29

vnmum many Congrats / well done now make sure you maintain and not put half of the weight back on like I did after 5yrs :(

vnmum · 10/02/2011 14:30

Blondes I have thrown all my larger clothes out so if it does start creeping up again for some reason i will know when these clothes start feeling neat that i need to sort it out. Thats the plan anyway

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 10/02/2011 14:37

VNMum, that is completely fantastic, a huge well done !!!!!

Willabywallaby · 10/02/2011 15:37

Grin vnmum that's great news!!!

IHeartIona · 10/02/2011 15:40

I see vnmum, thanks.
let us know what they say about maintenance please next week! (nosey, sorry)
I am near the goal I set but think I want to lose more now, so not sure what to do!

NoWayNoHow · 10/02/2011 16:01

Well done vnmum! That is so inspirational for all of us to read, massive massive congratulations!

vnmum · 10/02/2011 16:15

Iheart I set my goal as 1lb under the top weight in the healthy BMI range for my height. I can then stop paying to attend meetings, i know i am within healthy range and can lose some more later if i want to. As long as i don't go 5lb over my goal weight or below the lowest healthy weight for my height i can be any weight i want really.

The main thing for me was to stop paying as soon as i could, WW have got enough money out of me over the years, lol but also know i am healthy. I think it is unrealistic of me to think i could get to the same weight i was at 18 so being in the upper half of my weight range is more realistic anyway.

I am still on a high now though, i feel like i have accomplished so much.

loubloutwinmum · 10/02/2011 16:18

Well done vnmum what an inspiration you are. I hope you are so proud you could burst! That is just brilliant!

High great loss this week for you too. I am totally crap at receiving compliments too & if a bloke looks at me I usually look over my shoulder to see who else he is really looking at!!!

Having a good week & Shred is getting bit easier but sticking with level 1 for few more days! Having a day out shopping tom so really looking forward to that! A kid free day will be lovely & hopefully I can make some good food choices too?!

Making a Thai prawn curry tonight & going watch some tele & relax!!! Well done all the other losers...

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/02/2011 16:33

At e and a with dh :(

Been having nosebleeds every day for past week and nhs direct said to come here as today's one wldnt stop tho did by the time we got here.

Took an hr to see doc who wants to take some blood to check for clotting etc

Wonder if I can stress out enough to lose weight for Tom WI?

NoWayNoHow · 10/02/2011 16:42

Oh blondes, big hugs, I hope your DH is fine and it's nothing to worry about.

hmc · 10/02/2011 17:01

Well done Lorelai and a big well done to vnmum! - fab achievement. Looking forward to reading your story in the WW mag!

LeeWT - sorry to hear about your rubbish week, I really hope that your little boy gets better soon. Apparently stress can inhibit weight loss so that was probably what it was. Here's hoping things improve for you next week

Hey Blondes - keep us posted about dh. I hope they can sort him out...is he prone to nosebleeds?

benbenandme · 10/02/2011 17:12

Another half a pound off for me this week Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/02/2011 18:08

Well done ben

Dh saw a ent specialist and has a clot up nose. Lady removed it and calterized it

Still at a&e but can go home in 30mins

Will miss my gym class :( and last chance of losing for tomorrows wi but glad dh is ok :)

Littlefish · 10/02/2011 19:01

Well done vnmum!!!!!

Blondes - hope it's the end of your dh nosebleeds.

sweetheart · 10/02/2011 20:23

Blondes, hope you enjoyed your Indian. Feel free to winge away, we're here to help Grin Hope your dh is ok! Seeing as you missed you work out perhaps you should take dh home and treat him Grin ha ha!

High - regarding the attention - ENJOY IT!!!!! You're a beautiful woman and you deserve to be admired.Wink

hmc - woohoo, well done you! Have to say I didn't gain weight in Florida either - all that walking, swimming etc plus we ate as much healthy food from the supermarket as we could.

well done willaby

lee - oh no, gutted! So sorry for your gain! Can we analyse why? Have you any idea?

lorelai - well done on your loss and YES you should be here come good or bad! Will let you off this once, ok Wink

wynken - that's brilliant you must be so chuffed, well done!

vnmum - woo bloody HOOOOO That is AMAZING

Busy day here, out to meetings and work lunch. I had gnocci and butternut squash with a blue cheese dressing on top (was only a tiny bit) I pointed it up as about 13 which I hope is right. Still only had a 6pp ww pizza for tea with salad so should be ok for the day.

Helping my sister move house tomorrow and Saturday so bound to be some celabratory booze and a takeaway involved. I'm a bit more relaxed about it this week seeing as I lost this week after 2 meals out.

Weekends are always my sticking point so fingers crossed for staying on track and good luck to all of you too.
xxx

LoopyLa · 10/02/2011 20:46

Thank you all for the very warm welcome :)

Sparkle, Abgirl, Wizzler & Blondes thank you so much for the completely fabulous advice about how to be tight frugal with my cash & still lose weight - yay!

Am registering with Quidco TOMORROW!

I feel a teeny bit of a charlatan - on Mumsnet - yet no children, hope no-one minds...and after your advice actually. Am not going to ask about the whole TTC malarky, bla bla bla cos that's for another depressing thread but does it make sense that I want to lose weight although TTC too? Confused

I'm the excuse QUEEN and I think if I fell pregnant tomorrow, I'd be "stuff it me let's eat for 9 months solid" LOL! I want to give myself to learn about healthy eating before the bubbas come along & if I can lose some weight and get a healthy BMI in the meantime, that must be a good thing?

Appreciate your thoughts & appreciate it's just taken an hour to read this essay, ha ha!

NoWayNoHow · 10/02/2011 21:00

LoopyLa, of course it doesn't matter if there's no kids yet, and good on you for recognising the benefits to your body of having a healthier lifestyle and a healthier attitude towards food before and during pregnancy.

Being closer to a healthy BMI can only help TTC, and will prepare you mentally for how to eat during pregnancy.

As I said to my leader at me WW meeting on Tues - I think the biggest benefit I've taken away from WW (besides losing weight, obvs!) is that I feel SMARTER when it comes to food.

I understand how to make some really simple substitutions in life that don't cost me anything (eg. sugar for sweetener, whole milk for skimmed/semi etc), and I feel that with the knowledge I slowly built up week after week, I start to gravitate naturally towards foods that are (a) better for me, and (b) will keep me feeling fuller longer.

There, that's and essay in reply to your essay! Grin

ijordan121 · 10/02/2011 21:10

Hi, I have never posted on this thread before, but have been peeking at it because I am on WW PP plan after having DS2. I hope you don't mind me joining in and asking some questions. So far the plan has been really great, but I am only been doing it on-line because I can't get out at the moment, so don't have a meeting where I can ask about things.
I was wondering - do your points automatically reduce at any stage? Also, is the idea that you are meant to use your weekly allowance or not? Is it only for special occasions?

IHeartIona · 10/02/2011 21:20

Hi
I've been to WI now and stayed the same - how annoying! but looking at it over past 4 weeks I have lost 6 lbs so am happy.
my goal for this week is to open my Shred DVD that I've had since before Christmas, and do it at least once! have really done no exercise so far.... it must be what I need

vnmum - thanks for explaining about your goal weight. that sounds like a good approach. think I will talk to my leader about it next week too.
and well done again on being a gold member!
Blondes - glad your dh is ok.
High - lovely to be noticed, enjoy it!
hmc - well done on losing during hol!

well done to all the other losers too!
