Welcome one and all to our 3rd thread Grin

If you're just starting out or you've been following WW for a while and you're looking for support you've come to the right place!

There are lots of regulars who are well on their weigh (get it! Wink) and others who have just joined us - we're a mixed bag, all shapes and sizes and all with different goals to achieve but we're all striving for the same thing. We're all here to will one another on with advice, support and lots of cheering!

Androbbob is our resident stat checker and keeps us motivated by totting up the total weight loss each week. So far this week we have already lost over 37lbs collectively! I believe in total there has been over a 9 stone loss since the thread started!

We're quite fast moving at times so just dive in and make yourself at home Grin

wizzler I was hoping the whole weird toast combo would go largely unnoticed!

It used to be just Peanut Butter and cheese (my Dad's idea when I was a kid) but I threw in the honey off my own back when I felt like it needed a bit of sweetening up! I highly recommend everyone saves up some of their weeklies to try it out - it doesn't taste as weird as it sounds!

Oh, and I don't know why you're getting a hard time about pie and peas - it sounds perfectly normal to me! Grin

wizzler · 06/02/2011 20:47

Noway, so out of interest, how many pp in your speciality toast then? ( I am assuming its not on WW bread either) Grin

Willabywallaby · 06/02/2011 21:31

My DH likes cheese and honey on toast. And bacon with marmalade.

Batter didn't rise, and was mostly a soggy mess. But the recipe is 50/50 water and milk so I wasn't sure it would work.

IHeartIona · 06/02/2011 21:37

Hello,
sorry, I don't manage to post very often, but do follow how everyone is doing.

Androbob - wow, 38.5 lbs off total is great! I forgot to report I had 1 lb off at my WI on Thurs too, so one more to add. Smile
Mama - well done on 3 lbs off, that is great, don't be disappointed.
Blondes and others who went out - your nights out sounded great, well done for pointing them!
I may have to try this chorizo lasagne that everyone is enjoying I think.

have a good week everyone

NoWayNoHow · 06/02/2011 22:20

wizzler if you do it the "healthy" way it's:

  • 1 slice calorie controlled toast (1PP)
  • 1 tsp reduced fat peanut butter (2PP)
  • 1 tsp honey (1PP)
  • 40g half fat cheddar (3PP)

It's quite filling too, and heavy on the protein, so I guess it could make an interesting breakfast!!

froot · 06/02/2011 23:04

blondes wow thats my kinda night out !! Rock on ! Don't panic because in my experience of mega nights out where all the calories Pp are consumed in a few hours if you do put any weight on it will come off in a week or so . And even maybe a bit more - I always wonder if a) there is a maximum amount of fat your body can build in a few hours and the surplus just gets shat out down the loo & b) if a good splurge gives your metabolism a good kick up the arse . Either way I am totally convinced that a few hours pigging every few weeks followed instantly by a return to sensible eating is much better weight-wise than a slow drip drip drip of eating a few extra points a day . So maybe you could save a point a day out of your activity points and have another wild night out in about three months ?!!

mama when I lost my 22 lb in 13 weeks on ww last year between april & june I never lost as much as 3 lb in a week it was usually 2 but the occasional 1/2 or sts if you lose it too quickly you will put it back on ( though I know if you are bigger to start with bigger losses are more usual . That said have just had a cheeky wi and looks like I might have lost 3 this week - first totally serious committed no cheating week on Pp plus I had put on 1 last week after wild night out - see note to blondes above !

LittleFriendSusan · 06/02/2011 23:39

vnmum fingers crossed you get to gold in the next few weeks!

wizzler - you can't beat pie n peas! Have been to many a pie n peas dooo in my time - they don't know what they're missing!! (Steel town here too, maybe that's it?!) And I would have had to comment on the very odd toast combo but see you beat me to it Grin.

abgirl - well done on being so restrained with the baking. I was not quite so good Grin. Made choc chip flapjacks and lemon drizzle cake for lunchboxes Fri & this week and managed not to touch them. Then DDs friend came round on Saturday and we made choc-chip shortbread, which I had to taste... Was much nicer than the rhubarb cake I made for Sat night, which was nothing like the photo and a waste of 10PP!!! Well, more like 8PP as only had a small piece.

Lucky - glad you are doing OK and sorry your girls have had CP... DS was absolutely covered when he had it, DD not quite so bad!

Blondes, NWNH, HHY, sparkle and anyone else I've missed! - sounds like you have all been having fun!!! I was Grin at the 110+ PP - I don't feel quite so bad about the amount of wine consumed last night now! Somehow I managed to stay within my points despite v unhealthy cake and copious quantities of wine! I did dilute it with soda water so could have been worse! Still don't expect great things at WI tomorrow though, no time to repair the damage done!

I haven't got round to making soup for the week yet - might have to buy some tomorrow morning as don't like to have a big lunch on WI day! Will have to make some tomorrow night - any recommendations for a nice low-points one? Have BNS, celeriac, carrots, parsnips, onions and most of the usual storecupboard stuff...

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/02/2011 07:35

morning

a quickie before i go to work :)

hhy i also cut back on pp yesterday, had 0point soup saving 12 pp for what i would normally have for lunch - hope wi goes well for you tomorrow :)

shouldres invest in shred, its good and less than £5

willa sorry called you wily last time, sorry hole didnt rise, but if used 50% water/batter then not surprised tbh

noway theres noway Grin im trying your combination out lol

iheartiona well done on lb loss :)

froot it was a fantastic day/evening so well worth a gain next week, but lets hope your theory works eh?

littlefriendsusan im rather Shock and Blush at 110+ points - dh very kindly mentioned last night that i also chewed on his sausage sat night Shock not his own personal sausage mind you, Grin but his very nice cheese/leek/apple one so bung on another 3/4points on my days total, so rising 115pp now

vnmum · 07/02/2011 08:29

morning all,

I am dissappointed this morning Sad. I did a sneaky WI and seem to have gained 1.5lb over the weekend. so much for losing 1.5lb to get to goal on thursday. I guess the eating out at my parents has caught up with me. I feel so stupid for going along with it really when i knew i was so close to goal. I have tracked everything and am only just over my weeklies but maybe it was just too much crap food. I'm hoping it is mainly water and it will go over next few days but i am going to do some very low point days to try and shift it before thursday, not the most sensible approach but i want to get my goal.

The thing is i don't know why, but whenever i seem to get near a goal i seem to subconsciously sabotage myself then feel dissappointed. I was all set to be really good over the weekend and make sensible choices, and i didn't really make any bad choices but it may have been the extra snacking i do at mums. i'm my own worst enemy

NoWayNoHow · 07/02/2011 08:30

Right, a new Monday and a new start! Exercise this morning, good low points all day, and fingers crossed I can still lose tomorrow. If I don't, then at least I know what the deal is wrt using up weeklies!

Good luck for all of you who have WI's today!

DuplicitousBitch · 07/02/2011 09:21

blondes you are doing so well
lobsters 1/2 lbs of is better than on.
vnmum wow! @ weightloss. you will lose the 1.5lb, i know wha tyou mean ab out sabotaging yourself. do you really need to lose that last bit?

i lost 1 lb today would have been more if i had kept my face otu of dh's birthday cake.

dd was ill all lasat week and is not skin and bone so i have to work out how to feed her up and feed me down.

NormaSknockers · 07/02/2011 09:37

Morning all,

All set for a new week?

Good luck to everyone who's weighing in today, I'm in this evening and I'm anticipating a gain. I stuck to my points but for the first time ever I've used my activity points and TOTM arrived 2 days early and I always gain when I'm on. I'm hoping it's minimal gain so that I can shift it nice and quickly Grin

mumto2andnomore · 07/02/2011 09:39

Have enjoyed reading about all of your naughty weekends ! I was good, went to nandos only had 1 glass of wine and chicken pitta and sweet potato mash. For the first time I used some of my weekly points only 5 but felt so guilty !

Weighed in today and Ive lost 2lb so thats 15lb since I started just after new year.

Good luck everyone we can do this !

Littlefish · 07/02/2011 10:34

vnmum - I understand about the sabotage thing too. Just recognise that you've done it, and move on. It's a new week and a fresh chance to make good choices.

mumto2 - well done on your loss!

Weeeel - a bit of a momentous day in this house, which I know you ladies will understand.

First thing in the morning
After I'd been to the loo (twice)
Standing stark naked

I had gone down into the next stone bracket. woooooooooohoooooooooo

I know it's still a few week's weigh-ins before it's my weight at the end of the day, but it's another milestone to keep me motivated for now!

I've got my official weigh-in tomorrow, so I'll report back then.

DuplicitousBitch · 07/02/2011 10:37

littlefish - i can't wait to get below 11 stone. i am now 11 6 and it feels good to be closer to 11 than 12

HighHeidYin · 07/02/2011 11:08

Oooh littlefish that's fab! I too am aiming for being under 11. Can't remember the last time I was that.

blondes thanks. Think I have prob gained a pound (that's how it is looking) but will just have to deal with it.

Well done db and mumto2 on your losses! vnmum you might find that that extra will have gone by wi. I'm clinging onto that too.

norma hope tonight goes well.

Just got a call from my mum to ask if would take my dad for an emergency doc app at one today. He has chrones and has been really ill with it this last year. Is constantly bleeding and has aged horrendously. Really worried about him Sad

Will pop back on later hopefully.

vnmum · 07/02/2011 11:12

db at last WI i was 0.5lb off the top of my healthy weight bracket. i need to be within the healthy bracket for WW to allow me to be at goal IYSWIM. I am quite happy with myself as i am, i am quite broad framed and have never been a size 10 so at a 12 which i am now i am happy

vnmum · 07/02/2011 11:13

High hope your dad is ok

sparkle101 · 07/02/2011 11:33

high seconded thoughts for you dad, hope he's okay

db well done on the loss

mamma welll done on the loss 3lb is excellent!

Rubbish day here yesterday which resulted in the scales being thrown in the bin. Was so disappointed with what they said that got myself in a state where I wanted to eat my body weight in chocolate so they have gone in the bin and I will just wait each week for WI.

I have a huge favour question for you lovely ladies with access to ww online (I pay weekly so don't have access to it) sommeone posted this recipe on angel and shocker foods and I would love to make it but don't know what size packs of steak I should be using. And do I brown the meat before I put it in the slow cooker? And do I add water or just the wine. I am so rubbish at cooking so sorry for the stupid questions!

2 packets lean stewing steak
1 bott1e red wine
2 onions
4 carrots
1 swede
1 packet mushrooms
1 packet beef cssserole mix colemans

The whole recipe was 42pp so I think the steak would be 2 x 500g packs? Hope you can help.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/02/2011 12:00

vnmum i keep sying it but dont weigh during the week, weight goes up and down and sure by thursdays you would have lost the gain

noway thats the attitude and we shall see if totally binging ruins the diet

DB hmm not sure im doing well, did you read about my 115pp + binge saturday? - well done on 1 lb loss :)

norma fingers crossed for sts as due on, thinking about it i never use my exercise pp, and prob earn 9/12 a week - think i neveer use them as cant work out how to get them on the calcultor - dont think you can?

mumtotwo well done on loss, you deserve it by being good at weekend, uniike me, ayou have lost over a stone in 5 weeks!!!! :)

littlefish well done for going down a stone brackett, assume you shaved legs/waxed bikini line etc to make sure you have lost all extra weight Grin

HHY sorry to hear about dad :( hope docs sorts him out xx

sparkle again i say it STOP wi when not your day, it just upsets you - not an onliner, so cant help soz

Littlefish · 07/02/2011 12:18

Grin at Blondes. Obviously, as soon as I'd eaten my breakfast I was back in the higher stone bracket, but it was lovely to see a lower number on the scales, even if only for a few seconds!

futurity · 07/02/2011 12:21

popping in to say just did week 2 weigh in and lost 1lb. had my son off school all last week so did no exercise and it has been hard being stuck in the whole time but managed not to go off the rails too much! am starting today a fresh and hoping I can keep this up as I tend to start getting bored after 2 weeks of being good!

sweetheart · 07/02/2011 12:26

Morning all, well afternoon now!

I am absolutly bloomin starving today! I think I must have stretched my stomach over the weekend as it's deffo telling me it wants more food today!

high - really hope your dad is ok. Dh's nan got rushed to hospital last night after a fall and has broken her hip. She's only been out of hospital a short while so it's very Sad. Hope everything goes ok with your dad!

vnmum - STOP WEIGHING!!!!! You have AGES before Thursday and as you have recognised the sabotage this early on you still have loads of time to put it right! Just make sure you stay on track for the rest of the week and if you can try to fit in some more exercise.

Norma and littlefish, good luck for your WI's!

Well done on all the losses.

Right, I'm going to the gym to stop myself thinking about food!

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/02/2011 12:37

futurity - well done on loss, esp ig dc ill

ssweetheart - sorry about dh nan, hope hip heals soon

littlefish - you will be there permetly soon

loubloutwinmum · 07/02/2011 13:34

Hi Ladies,

A quick post from me as so busy at work today.

High hope your Dad is OK!
Sweetheart & your DH Nan!

Well done on the losses and vnum you may still get a nice surprise on Thursday!

Well I have only lost 1 lb this week - a little bit Sad as I really upped my exercise this week. Am on day 5 of Shred and it is killing me - quite literally.

Both my MIL & FIL have joined WW though as I have inspired them to do it (apparently) so I have some RL support as well as all you lovely ladies.

Been invited to friends for dinner tonight - she is pretty healthy so it shouldn't impact on my points too much! Will let you know tomorrow.

Good luck to anyone still to WI today or tonight.
