Welcome one and all to our 3rd thread Grin

If you're just starting out or you've been following WW for a while and you're looking for support you've come to the right place!

There are lots of regulars who are well on their weigh (get it! Wink) and others who have just joined us - we're a mixed bag, all shapes and sizes and all with different goals to achieve but we're all striving for the same thing. We're all here to will one another on with advice, support and lots of cheering!

Androbbob is our resident stat checker and keeps us motivated by totting up the total weight loss each week. So far this week we have already lost over 37lbs collectively! I believe in total there has been over a 9 stone loss since the thread started!

We're quite fast moving at times so just dive in and make yourself at home Grin

bigtilly yummy - love those

abgirl sounds a nightmare, hope things imrpove/get easier soon

noway grrrrrrrrrrr for you, but chinese sounds yummy and low in pp so well done

androbbob kicks androbbobs butt your food sounds yummy but tbh 6pp lunch wouldnt fill me, so maybe you are not eating enough, hence why you snack as hungary? its good to have a treat/snack to keep you motivated but not everything on one day

vnmum · 03/02/2011 21:20

Evening all,
Welcome any newbies and well done to all the losers. I am only doing a quick catchup as on my phone at my parents.

At WI I lost 1.5lb. As I stepped on the scales the leader said I looked slim and asled me what my goal was, which was quite nice. I have actually measured my height again and I am an inch taller than I thought so my WW goal isn't as many pounds away as I thought.

androbob just draw a line and start back tomorrow. Kick up bum given

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 03/02/2011 21:21

Apologies, have been AWOL dealing with loads of stressful rubbish.

A loss to add to spreadsheet. Lost 1.5lbs at WI today but didn't go last week when my scales said 2lb on. Androbbob, if I'm down as 2lbs on last week then I'm 3.5lbs this week. If I'm not down for anything last week then 1.5lbs down. Apologies for being complicated.

Will try for 2lbs this week to get 3 stone award but will just have to see how things go. Sat next to the woman who has lost 8st 5.5lbs in 36 week, she lost 6lbs this week, truly amazing, she visibly shrinks every week !

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 03/02/2011 21:25

Hello ladies, may I join you? I'm just starting my fourth week on pp (WI on a wed) so far I've lost 10lbs so am loving the new plan. I'm trying to lose the baby weight completely after DD2 as it never quite all went last time and I don't want to end up heavier again! DD2 is 10 weeks now and I'm breast feeding (14 bonus points a day, hooray!)

Littlefish · 03/02/2011 21:38

Androbbob - I agree that it sounds like you're not eating enough at mealtimes.

Try and have a couple of days where you eat all your points during mealtimes, and then snack on fruit, or use some weekly points if you want something else in the evening.

Remember that protein will make you feel full. Also, you could have a bowl of low point soup before each meal to help with hunger pangs.

Littlefish · 03/02/2011 21:38

Welcome ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits. Smile

wizzler · 03/02/2011 22:52

Androbob. Come on girl. Everyone has one of those days, just get back on your tracker tomorow. Consider your bum kicked, wrists slapped and ears tweaked. Hide the tempting snacks, and like Littlefish and Blondes have said, try and move your points to different points in the day, to see if it helps .

dearprudence · 03/02/2011 23:40

androbbob your meals are very low in points. If this is typical for you, I'm not surprised you're hungry in the evenings.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 04/02/2011 07:04

Androbbob, agree with upping protein and the no point soup. I always used to have weetabix for breakfast but now usually have quorn sausage, bacon, egg, mushroom, tomato, melon. Keeps me feeling full so much longer and I don't need as much for lunch.

sweetheart · 04/02/2011 10:41

Morning all Grin

I have a big smile on my face because:-
1. It's Friday and the weekend starts soon
2. We are out with friends for dinner tonight and I get to have my first drink of 2011 (Don't worry, I have planned my meal in advance and am sticking to vodka and diet coke to keep the points down - I may even put my own ww dessert in my bag?!?!?!)
3. I did my measurements this morning, I've put on a cm round my arm but think that's from the weights at the gym. I've lost a total of 13cm's on the rest of my body in a month

HighH I find my mp3 player really spurs me on at the gym and I love having time to myself there

abgirl sorry you've had a ribbish week, hope you have a nice relaxing weekend!

vnmum well done on your loss - I would be super Grin if my leader said I looked slim!

wyken well done on your loss

shoulders hello

androbob I am the same as you in that I eat most of my points in the evening. I tend to eat no more than 10 points during the day and the rest of an evening. I do wonder if that's why my weight loss has been less than my sisters as she eats loads of points during the day compared to me. Trouble is I find it very difficult to have a normal family evening meal without using lots of points.

Well, good luck everyone today - not sure how much I'll be around over the weekend as we have a very eventful one planned. I'm going to do my best to stay on track on our 2 nights out and I will report back asap.

Have a great day, good luck xxx

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/02/2011 11:47

vnmum congrats on loss :)

wynken well done on loss and sure you wil manage 3 stone very soon

shoulders welcome and congrats on new baby

androbbob see i was right [smug emotion but also blowing kiss's] you need to eat more,i would starve on what you eat!!

sweetheart enjoys drinks, me too tomorrow and wow at 13cms lost - well done

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/02/2011 11:49

blondes does a twirl in the air

i lost 2 lbs :) - though sure one should have been from last week, but with that pesky AF, she stole it from me lol

have now lost 2 stone :)

got 5 lbs to get to target, though still not 100% going to get into my trousers and look good,as still bloody tight and sure 5 lbs isnt going to make a difference, so may try and go 7 lbs lower when at target weight

Lorelai · 04/02/2011 12:48

Well done blondes!

Sweetheart, what sort of meals are you having? Maybe we can help you find ways to make them lower in points.

lobsters · 04/02/2011 13:02

Well done blondes!

sorry not been around due to work and life. I only lost 0.5lbs this week, which was a bit disappointing, i'd done loads of exercise, but it is clearly having an effect as I'm getting into loads of clothes that didn't fit before Xmas. I've got one suit that I bought for returning to work after mat leave, but it's never fit. Tried it on this week, fits beautifully and wore it to work and got loads of compliments. So i think something should be working

wizzler · 04/02/2011 13:09

Blondes, well done.. at getting through the 2 stone barrier. I think 5 lbs could be a big difference... work it out in terms of % of your new weight ..

.. and Lobsters.. that story is just the inspiration the rest of us need.

dearprudence · 04/02/2011 13:37

Blondes well done. How long has it taken you to lose 2 stone?

I've been to the gym today Smile. Only walking with the occasional minute jogging, but every little helps.

abgirl · 04/02/2011 13:57

Sweetheart have a good night out, sounds like fun

Blondes woo-hoo! on the 2 stone - fab!

Thanks to those of you who've commiserated on my rubbish week, am feeling much better today after a proper night's sleep (thank you DS2) and am pleased it's Friday too. Going to spend this evening watching England beat Wales at rugby - I used to play in my youthGrin and love watching now! Returning some curtains to Dunelm Mill tomorrow but having friends over for dinner on Sunday - have saved most of my weekly points and planning to serve Jamie Oliver meatballs, spagetti and salad (with garlic bread which I won't be having) with crumble and/or fruit salad for pudding - can't wait! What's everyone else doing?

Oh, and am on day 5 of shred and surviving (just about).

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/02/2011 16:27

Thank you

'beams'

as you may have gathered i was really pissed off last week as didnt cheat/ate correct points and sts

where as next weeks wi, if i sts i dont mind,as was out for lunch today, out tomorrow at tgi (and tbh all food there is so bad in pp) and then out for curry wed so gonna be a bad week foodwise

sweetheart how the hell do you survive on 10pp a day - i have 5 for breakie and 12 for each meal which generally includes crisps in eve - so i eat 17 during day and 12 in eve iyswim

lobsters well done on loss and brill you are in suits again, you are obv toning up, so everyone easure, you may not lose lbs but you are losing cms

wizzler how do i work that out? or can someone do it for me please - i was 13 stone 5 lbs, now 11 st 5 and aiming to get back to 11, which is what i was when brought the trousers

Dearprudence been a tad slow this time, taken 13mths so from jan 10 feb 11, last time lost 4stone in 11mths on ww but had a shitty time in rw last year so was slow progress, and did put on 10lbs on holiday in july, thats a lb a day Blush and 7lbs on at xmas, Blush so techinally have lost 3stone 3 lbs iyswim and well done for going to the gym

abgirl sleep makes things much better :) well done on shred, not sure what having tonight ,possibly chicken shish kebeb and salad (feel like a treat but is a healthy takeaway)

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/02/2011 16:32

how cool is this Wine Wine Wine Grin

HighHeidYin · 04/02/2011 17:04

Afternoon fellow losers!

Feeling very good today. Not sure why really but think it is just that feeling of relief from knowing I am finally doing something about my weight. Before I started ww ait would be constantly at the back of my mind how unhappy I was and how I needed to DO something, but was fed up trying, and failing. It really did affect my mood, without me even realising it. Sorry to ramble, just thinking aloud.

Welcome to shoulders Smile

sweetheart yay to measurements loss - fantastic!

blondes yeeeehaaaa at 2lb loss and 2stone total! Just fabulous!!!

lobsters well done on loss too!!! Remember that muscle weighs more than fat so tho you are actually losing fat it won't show so much on the scale but will on the inches being lost!

dearprudence good going getting out to the gym!

abgirl so glad you have managed to get some sleep!

Right better get off here and go make dinner. Speak later!

wizzler · 04/02/2011 17:33

Blondes.. if my calcs are correct you have already lost 15% of your starting body weight.

The next 5lbs you lose will be 3% of your weight now... so although 5lbs doesnt sound so much, you will be 97% of the woman you are today when you hit target, IYSWIM!

(Wizzler sheepishly hands calculator back to Androbbob)

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/02/2011 17:38

loving the pom poms hhy thank you :)

also loving the Wine

wizzler 15% Shock

fuck a duck - really?

'blondes faints'

im really chuffed with that :)

dearprudence · 04/02/2011 17:55

Impressed by the shredding abgirl. Lots of other inspiring successes too.

Thanks blondes. I've gained nearly 2 stone in the past year, so I find this very impressive.

My plan for tonight is no Wine and stick to daily points. No plans for weekend yet, but will plan in some exercise.

froot · 04/02/2011 18:04

vnmum am dead jealous on your inch of growth - I have shrunk 1 1/2 inches and I am well pissed off...where did it go? I need to weigh even less now - and worse than that my mother is now taller than me!

mama I lost my 22 lb in 12 weeks on ww old styleee...but for me the new pp does not make much difference because I used my old points in quite a carb- lite protein heavy way iyswim. The only difference for me is that most days I used to have a meusli bar for breakfast but they are about 7 points on the new pp, so now I have half a bar (I make them with oats and apple sauce and seeds and dried froot Grin ) plus a hard boiled egg, on work days (4) and on non-work days I have 4 rasher turkey bacon butty with nimble and ketchup (5pp) (or ww bread) or 2 eggs on toast (5pp) or mushrooms on toast with philly lite (4pp) or a combination of those.

Lunch on my 4 workdays is always a john west tuna lunch (but beware see prev comments about resemblance to cat food Confused - I think they are bloody delicious myself) mixed with half a chopped cucumber (5 or 6 pp depending on the variety - of the jw lunch not the cucumber obv!) and fruit, then a ww bar on the way home.

Then dinner is whatever but most days no proper carbs (always mashed butternut or if need rice chipped raw hot (not cooked) courgette maybe with a dessertspoon of rice mixed in if I have the points.)

Sugar free jelly ww yogs and no Wine just pleny of gin instead (we need a gin icon techys!!)

And I hardly ever ever ever cheated. Fish without exeption if I went out. Made sanwiches if I was out for the day and thought I might get hungry. WW bar in handbag at all times and a tin of diet tonic so that I could avoid wine. Quite often friends and restaurants would only have full fat tonic not diet.

Exercise-wise I have a treadmill so was using that 3-4 times a week, going on walks round the streets with friends, and I took up tap-dancing (only one class a week though!) and joined a choir (singing is apparently good exercise!)

I found it easy to maintain until ski trip just before christmas then 2 weeks off at christmas and i just frigging pigged out for the whole of December. I really really regret it and I will NOT be making the same mistake next Christmas - I actually am not going to take so much time off work as that was part of my downfall, house filled with cheese ,chocs, biscuits, baileys, mulled wine, cake, etc etc....

I have been a bit half hearted so far but have knuckled down this week so am determined not to bugger up again this weekend - wi is on Monday.

Hope this helps - you CAN do it!! Smile

By the way, chorizo lasagne absolutely bloomin DELICIOUS!!

dearprudence · 04/02/2011 18:41

Chorizo lasagne, you say? Interesting.

Delighted to hear that singing can be called exercise. I joined a choir (the show tunes type, not religious or proper choral music) in January and I bloody love it.
