Welcome one and all to our 3rd thread Grin

If you're just starting out or you've been following WW for a while and you're looking for support you've come to the right place!

There are lots of regulars who are well on their weigh (get it! Wink) and others who have just joined us - we're a mixed bag, all shapes and sizes and all with different goals to achieve but we're all striving for the same thing. We're all here to will one another on with advice, support and lots of cheering!

Androbbob is our resident stat checker and keeps us motivated by totting up the total weight loss each week. So far this week we have already lost over 37lbs collectively! I believe in total there has been over a 9 stone loss since the thread started!

We're quite fast moving at times so just dive in and make yourself at home Grin

Enjoy your night out Lee. I'm off to see the king's speech. You can have a glass of wine at our local cinema do I've offered to drive to stop the temptation. Got a friend's 50th birthday party on Saturday, hog roast!! Going to save all my weekly points and hope it covers it.

LittleFriendSusan · 27/01/2011 11:59

Well done on the loss willaby!

froot - Glad the Shred seems to be working! I've read all the threads raving about it, I keep considering it myself, but have a feeling it would be consigned to the dusty cupboard with the 4 exercise DVDs I bought last year. I should just pull them out again really. I bought the Biggest Loser one which was good if a bit repetitive. Thing is, we only have one tv, in the living room, and DP is always around. Even if I got up extra early to do it, he would be there as he leaves for work at 7am. (Did you all get the leaflet at the WW meetings this week about excuses not to exercise? - that's me Wink)

Re. wine: the online tracker works out 125ml red wine as 3 points so that's what I stick with! More like a thimbleful than a glass, but hey ho. I usually drink dry white wine, but would want more than 125ml! I find it easier to just drink a little red wine!

I like a nice couscous / bulgar wheat salad for lunch as a bit of a change, just need to be bothered to make it...

Going to my friends for lunch in a few minutes - she usually does us soup or something similar so hopefully won't go too far off track. Have got lentil dhal simmering away for tea & planning to make sweet potato curry to go with it & just a little rice. I noticed WW do mini naans, has anyone tried them?

androbbob · 27/01/2011 12:55

Just had my lunch and it was great! I had half a ready meal left from last night - Chicken Tikka Masla and it was 9PP for the half a pack! Shock That is ok for a lunch and I had a WW 1PP yog with it and I am stuffed! I had porridge for breakfast which was 3PP so I have 16PP left for tea! Not snacking today except on fruit!

I have decided to tack on line this week as well as on paper - to see if I can see anywhere where I am going wrong.

Anyway - off to the gym tonight for a workout with weights - a change from the usual cardio that I do!

Hope all are well and eating lovely low fat low PP food!

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 27/01/2011 13:26

Didn't make it to class this morning but weighed on the Wii which is usually quite accurate. Says I have gained 2lbs. Not a big shock as have eaten daily, weekly and exercise points which have included rather a lot of chocolate, plus it is TOTM. Made a big pan of veg soup which I hope will keep me on track this week.

What a relief to see 49 weekly points showing again on the tracker !

vnmum · 27/01/2011 13:29

hello all.

I had WI this morning GrinGringrin]
can you tell i'm pleased?

I lost 3.5lb, got my second silver 7 and my 10% keyring. So I am feeling so motivated I don't actually want my normal WI sweet treat. I am in the zone. With this and the jeans yesterday I am having a good week.

Well done to any losers from further up the thread(had to go away from computer halfway through catchup so have forgotten many details i'm afraid) and welcome to the newcomers. This thread is really going strong

Norma for lunch I am very much like you, it's usually either soup or eggs in some guise or other. Today i have had 0pp soup and a WW bagel with philly extra light for 6pp

hmc · 27/01/2011 13:29

Well done Wizzler, Littlefish, gibbberish, teaandcrumpets, LeeWT, benbenandme, Sweet, willaby and sparkle for your losses this week. Androbob has her work cut out with maintaining the weight loss spreadsheet that's for sure!

Well done also to Sparkle for maintaining, and commiserations Lorelai and androbob on your small gains. However - body does strange things and after a small gain this is almost invariably followed by a really good loss the following week, so keep the faith and hang on in there.

Well, I shifted 1lb at the weigh in last night - which is better than a slap in the face with a wet halibut. Cumulative loss now 24lbs.

Thanks Norma for the update on posting the prize - will let you know when I get it Smile

I might manage to post again after today but am going on holiday on Sunday so am in that mad packing and prepation stage atm, so this could be the last time I pop into the thread until for 10/11 days. We are having a week in Disneyworld, Florida. Am trying to wade through 400 pages of the Unofficial Guide to Disney atm, and I keep getting text and email alerts from a website I have subscribed to giving me updates on the projected crowds on the days that we are there. I feel like I am swotting for an exam!

hmc · 27/01/2011 13:30

Well done vnmum - that is a great loss!

vnmum · 27/01/2011 13:32

comiserations wynken. it is so hao tell where you are though when you have to use different scales.

My leader told me i had to drop a point now i had lost another 7lbs and i told her i was already on the lowest at 29. I wonder now wether i should knock 7 off my weeklies instead so that equates to 1 less per day if i was to use the weeklies. hope i made sense then

Lorelai · 27/01/2011 13:34

Hi all. I feel like I am back on track this week; didn't use all my points yesterday which is a first! 2 parties this weekend though (DD1's 3rd birthday and DD2's baptism!) so I will need all my weekly points then!!

Prize arrived today Norma, thank you!

going · 27/01/2011 13:51

Well done on all the losses this week.

Have managed to keep on track so far. My period started today so I'm suprised that I even lost a lb this week. My cycles were a regular 28 days but seem to be getting shorter, last month 26 and this 25 Confused.

NormaSknockers · 27/01/2011 14:13

Glad you liked your prize Lorelai hope you weren't disappointed?

vnmum no you're fine to still use all your weeklies, I'm on 29 too now after dropping from 31 and I've still lost weight so don't feel you have to save any if you find yourself needing to use them :) Well done your loss too, fabby Grin

Well done on your loss too hmc fingers crossed your prize will arrive soon!

I had a change for lunch (ooooooo-ahhhhh!) 2 tortilla wraps filled with toms, BBQ chicken and some salsa - 10 PPs for the lot which is a good 3 PPs more then I usually like to have but dinner is only 7 PPs instead of my usualy 10-11 so still well within my points with enough left for pud and treats Grin

OP posts:
Lorelai · 27/01/2011 14:43

Not disappointed at all Norma; was very kind of you; far more than I was expecting.

sweetheart · 27/01/2011 15:14

What was it ? Grin

gibbberish · 27/01/2011 15:33

Wow you lot can talk a lot!

Welcome to all the new PPers! Well done and all the losses and grrrr at the weight gains...

Sorry not to name you all individually but have just quickly skimmed through two pages in between catching up on company banking!!

Well I was norty last night. Didn't have any of the pizza (yay) but ate the last of dd3's chicken strip things (boo). But counted them and was still within my points.

But then went on to have two cans of lager.. Blush Does anyone know the points value in a standard can? The online tracker varied enormously.

Anyway turns out is totm (seems like is totm for everyone on here - we must synchronising our cycles Grin) so that explains the nibbles. Back to being ok today.

Don't think I'll lose this week though as am not going to be able to fit in any exercise.

Better get on... maybe pop back in tonight. Be good!

LeeWT · 27/01/2011 15:44

Well girls ds is asleep (in his carseat under the cooker hood for white noise, don't ask!) and I'm having glorious cuddles and playing shop with an extremely imaginative dd who expects me to remember that the Teddy is chicken, the gloves are carrots etc etc

well done on all the losses especially vnmum to achieving 10% and 2 stone goals!!!

I've ordered shred so thanks for all the pointers and links girls. May I reiterate I haven't excercised in well over a year so this could be RIP LeeWT!

By the way markseys are sellig all their fuller longer range with £1 off. They seem to range between 8-10 pp which is more than reasonable and quantity wise there's def more food than ww or tesco! I had ham potatos, veg and sauce it was 8pp and really satisfying. But then I feel very hard done by with soup or small lunches. I had porridge for brekkie so have only used 11pp today which leaves me 24 for Thai and drinkage tonight!

Chickn and cashew is 9pp in the Chinese am I safe enough to assume Thai would be the same? Thai is healthier so can't imagine it's more?

hmc · 27/01/2011 17:30

Hi Norma

Checked my mailbox and I had one of those cards telling me parcel was at PO, so I popped in after school home time to collect it and want to say thank you very, very much. Am delighted with my prize Smile

NormaSknockers · 27/01/2011 17:33

Oh yay, so pleased it arrived hmc hope the box wasn't too squashed? Blush I was praying you didn't already have the book? Grin

hmc · 27/01/2011 18:49

Hi Norma package was fine, all in good nick! I have made a couple of recipes from that book - have previously borrowed a friend's copy and was planning on getting my own copy; so couldn't have worked out better Smile

Blondes - have you thought, I won't be around to add the 1000th post to this thread Wink

boodleboot · 27/01/2011 20:31

my god this thread moves ridiculously fast!

sorry i did a disappearing act, i am trying to pack up the house prior to our move on sat and it is a complete nightmare....

well done to all the losses....i feel bit bleurgh to say that this weeks weigh in showed a 1/2 gain! Blush - that is a full lb from my before christmas weigh in but i guess it could have been worse....

i have had mastitis again this last week too so it has been a bit of a grind....not been able to exercise since last wednesday and wont be there this saturday to weigh in due to move....am hoping to be fully back up and swinging internet wise by monday so will begin pointing in earnest then. Have a target now as tried on my wedding dress and it has a way to go before it fits....(we have blessing of our marriage coming up in august....eek) Need to lose 21lbs i reckon to fit it and look fantabulous...is that doable do you reckon?

always good to have something to aim for!!

Smile
IHeartIona · 27/01/2011 20:51

wow this thread is busy!
well done to all who have lost - vnmum you are almost the same as me! I lost 2 lbs at weigh-in tonight and got my 10% keyring too!

boodleboot - I definitely think you can lose 21 lb by August, go for it! what a great goal to have in mind too.

hope to pop in here more this weekend and stay motivated Smile

androbbob · 27/01/2011 21:07

Evening all! Had a great day today - hope to keep motivated for the rest of the week! Will be WI a day earlier this week as going to class on Tues not Wed - no pressure then!

I thought I will post my daily food to see if anyone has any ideas where I may be going wrong or wha I could change? Any help to get this few pounds shifted to get that stone would be appreciated. It is usually at this point that I give in and go back to my old ways. This time will be different - I have invested so much time (and money!) to get this far and I so dont want to give up!

Today I had;

Porridge & milk - 4PP

Chicken Tikka Masala & rice - 9PP
(Not a usual lunch - left overs!)
Shape dessert 3PP

Mid afternoon - WW yoghurt - 1PP

Big bowl of salad 0PP
3 mini indian bites 3PP
(leftovers from Xmas in freezer!)
small chicken breast 3PP
Salad dressing 1PP

1 biscuit 2PP

1 crumpet 2PP
Hot choc 1PP

So a total of 29PP for the day.

I would usually have salad with my lunch but not today.

Will post again tomorrow!

bellavita · 27/01/2011 22:07

Did you add any water to the porridge andro? I thought it would be morenthan 4pts. I make it with water and i am sure it is pts.

lobsters · 27/01/2011 23:14

Apologies I've not been in for ages, work is manic, was working til midnight last night (at home) and will be working at lot of the weekend which has meant it has been difficult to find time to eat, so I lost 2.5 lbs this week, which means I've hit my first half stone which I'm chugged about, according to my leader I've also done 5%, but according to the on line tracker I've still got another lb to go on they which I want to do next week, I'm aiming for the next half stone now. I can definitley feel the difference in my jeans

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/01/2011 08:48

HMC yah, i shall try again Grin

boodleboot ouch at mastitis :( have you dried cabbage leaves? and how lovely to renew vows, you will get into your dress

iheartiona well done on 2 lb loss

androbbob menu looks healthy to me, tho spent 7pp on snacks/treats which is 25% of your dailys iyswim

lobsters well done on loss
