Welcome one and all to our 3rd thread Grin

If you're just starting out or you've been following WW for a while and you're looking for support you've come to the right place!

There are lots of regulars who are well on their weigh (get it! Wink) and others who have just joined us - we're a mixed bag, all shapes and sizes and all with different goals to achieve but we're all striving for the same thing. We're all here to will one another on with advice, support and lots of cheering!

Androbbob is our resident stat checker and keeps us motivated by totting up the total weight loss each week. So far this week we have already lost over 37lbs collectively! I believe in total there has been over a 9 stone loss since the thread started!

We're quite fast moving at times so just dive in and make yourself at home Grin

Good morning,

Well done on losses everyone (apologies if I forget someone) gibberish littlefish and wizzler

androbob well done you on lunch in the new office.

Welcome to Iheart

Norma I normally plan in the morning what I am having for dinner that night, having bought the stuff at the weekend for the whole week. Yesterday did just that and then had huge hormone and baby induced crying session and couldn't be arsed to make dinner so ended up with fish and chips. My lovely journal tracking book had to have a nice healthy dinner crossed through and been replaced with fish and chips. I suppose that's what the 49 points are there for!

I still need to get my head around portions. When I was eating the fish and chips I thought to myself "you don't have this that often anymore, make the most out of it" and so I found I was eating it for the sake of it after I was full, but did notice I had done this and did manage to leave some.

Good luck at the gym today sweetheart I a sure personal trainers are related to the devil and love to watch us suffer!

vnmum · 26/01/2011 10:09

starvin I think I am a 12 but if the 12 jeans don't fit i'm not buying 14's now so i will just wait abit longer and put up with my ill fitting jeans till the smaller ones fit.

Norma I usually do a weekly meal plan and then pick which meal i am going to have in the morning so my points are tracked and then i just have to see how many points i have left for lunch. Where is the chorizo lasagne recipe? It sounds yummy

LeeWT · 26/01/2011 10:56

Morning all - happy weigh in day! And good luck everyone..

Welcome to knitting and Iona.. knitting I have 5 stone to lose to take me to the top of my healthy bmi range. I've lost 11lbs so far and have mini goals of 5% and 10% as well as 1 stone, 1.5 and 2 stones. The girls here suggested the mini goals and it really helps..

starvin congrats on the jeans!

sweetheart meeean gym man but good on you for going anyway!

sparkle101 snap! Had total baby induced meltdown yesterday including crying in traffic! Ds hasn't slept in over a week and last night wasn't the worst he's been but dd was up all night with a temperature. Dh has taken the day off work as we don really have any support here. How olds your little one? Hope you are feeling better today

Well done on the losses littlefish, gibberish, and wizzler :-)

Norma I am so disorganized at the moment I try to keep the points down during the day and often have 15-20 left for dinner and snacks. In retrospect maybe that's bad for my weightloss?

Speaking of, I have my WI tonight. On my scales ive lost 1lb which may mean a sts on their scales by tonight.
I must admit I feel totally demoralized by the whole thing. I know slow and steady wins the race and all that but with 5 stone to lose this 1lb or 1/2 a lb lark is not doing it for me. I wouldn't mind but I'm not cheating I'm being so disciplined. But I can't manage exercise or sleep at the moment so I suspect that's a large part of the problem. I felt like ww was going to be the one thing that would be positive at such a hard time but it's making me frustrated :-(

did anyone else start of slow but then pick up pace in terms of loss?

LeeWT · 26/01/2011 11:00

Oh and someone gave me a link to shred but it wouldn't open. Could someone give me an amazon link to one to buy? 20 mins sounds manageable? Says the girl who hasn't exercised in over a year!

bigTillyMint · 26/01/2011 11:13

Welcome to all the newbies!

Lee fingers crossed for you - I know just how you feel about staying the same.

Right, I have just ordered the 30 day shred - feeling a bit nervous, but at only £4.99, if it's too much, it's not the end of the world!

sparkle101 · 26/01/2011 11:25

Leewt my DD is five mths old and we are in the middle of teething, she really hasn't taken to it at all well, yesterday I was covered in milk being spat out, she was crying, I was crying, it wasn't great. Nothing like what you are going through though, I definately think the lack of sleep isn't helping you, it will happen though, maybe try and think at the moment slow and steady is good, however if you weren't doing WW you may have turned to fast food, rubbish food, loads of snacks to get you through everything you have to cope with and you'd have probably put on a lot. So weight loss + what you would have put on = doing excellently well!

Oh, and I do what you do for points - I love my dinner so save my points for that!

sweetheart · 26/01/2011 12:00

Oh no - sorry to hear some of you are having a rubbish time atm. I hope you all get your 2nd wind soon and find some positives to keep you going.

I do the same - I use about 8 points during the day and save the rest for evening when I'm at home and I know I will want a big dinner and to pick n the evening.

I did pop on to say - woohoo, I've just noticed my rings are loose on my fingers but I feel a bit bad saying that given how some of you are feeling low.

Can you pop to the garage and buy yourself some flowers to cheer you up?
xxx

SparkleSoiree · 26/01/2011 12:20

At WI last night I maintained. I was happy with that as I thought I had gained so quite motivated and back on tracking today. Smile

It's good to read so many others doing the same thing and it gives me inspiration to keep going in these early days.

Smile
StarvingMarvin · 26/01/2011 12:25

Lee You must go easy on yourself! You obviously have a lot on your plate at the moment (no pun intended!) so even sts is progress, imagine if you hadn't been doing ww, you could have put on a couple of pounds this week! I know that doesn't really help when all you want is to see a loss on the scales but you are doing brilliantly with sticking with it when a lot of other people in your situation would have said sod it, I can't do this now on top of everything else.
sweetheart My rings are feeling loose too! Amazing how quickly weight comes off some places (and not others!)

teaandcrumpets · 26/01/2011 12:49

Knitting & Littlefish: I'm in it for the long haul, too! At my biggest I had 8 stone to lose! I was on the old plan about 18 months ago but stopped; have now re-started and it feels like it's going to be a long old slog, but I just keep visualising myself at different stages over the next year: at the festival I manage in August (where it will be so much easier to run around 14 hours a day and keep my energy levels up when I'm a few stones lighter) to Christmas, when I will be able to buy some really nice clothes, to the awards dinner I will go to in a year's time, and the lovely frock I intend to wear! I feel very motivated, and hope I can maintain that.

Thanks for the feedback on breakfast. I think the main problem is that I'm not a big fan of a lot of regular breakfast foods, so perhaps I need to experiment more. I am fond of a crumpet, funnily enough, so maybe there's my answer...

So: Weigh-in day. Another 3 lbs gone! That's 9.5 lbs in the past 3 weeks, and 1st 7.5 lbs weight loss in total. I may have 6.5 st still to lose, but I'm feeling very pleased right now! Especially as I have had some food this week which has felt terribly naughty: Chinese takeaway (special chow mein and a mini spring roll), roast dinner with yorkshire puds and roast potatoes, lamb rogan josh (not takeaway) and for lunch yesterday, chestnut and pheasant soup that was totally yummmm (16 pp worth of yummmm!) But I have been pointing everything and sticking to the plan, and I have to say, sceptical as I was about the new system, it seems to be working. And like the old system, it feels like something you could adjust to in the long term.

Still don't know if or how much the Alli is contributing, but 3 lbs is a good loss for a single week.

Good luck to everyone else. :)

Lorelai · 26/01/2011 12:51

Just back from WI and have put on half a pound :(

I know why though, I have been a bit blasé and eaten loads of junk, and there have been a few things I haven't been able to work out accurate points for so have estimated. Previously I think not eating my weekly points balanced out any underestimates, but this week I have eaten them all so probably went over.

I also need to start doing some exercise. I am going to go to buggyfit on mon and try and go for a few walks too.

teaandcrumpets · 26/01/2011 12:52

gibberish, wizzler & littlefish - congrats on great losses! And anyone else I missed. Sorry - just catching up on the thread...

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 26/01/2011 13:18

Hello to everyone. Can't catch up but sorry to hear some are struggling. I am this week, just want to eat and eat. Tis TOTM and have eaten all weeklies and started on activity points, still have 18 left at the moment but reckon I will eat some more tonight. Not going to stress and will see what happens and hope that all the allotment digging has paid off.

Might not make WI tomorrow as DS has started coughing and temperature going up so off today and doctor's tonight. Will use the Wii tomorrow if can't get there.

loubloutwinmum · 26/01/2011 13:37

Hi,

Would you mind another new member.

I started pro-points mid November as my weight had somehow crept up and I was in denial. That was until I out a new battery in the scales and made myself get on them.

I am doing WW online as I know I would not get to meetings due to so many other evening commitments. Anyway, so far I have managed to lose 21 lbs! Wow, first time I have written it down! I still have at least another 2 stone to lose though.

I do look on the message boards on the WW website but this thread seems so supportive and with not going to meetings, I could really do with it. Well done to everyone for such great losses and positivity.

Will try to post regularly and get to know you all hopefully. Thinking of buying Shred DVD too - been doing some Davina but the workouts are minimum of 40 mins & I struggle to get time when the kids aren't around.

futurity · 26/01/2011 13:50

EEEK! Was doing so well...but a friend has brought round Tescos double chocolate cookies (from the bakery) as a thank you present...can't find the points for them though (haven't eaten one...yet!)

gibbberish · 26/01/2011 13:57

Afternoon all! Just popping in briefly before getting buried in paperwork for the rest of the afternoon.

Welcome loublou Smile. I go on the ww forums occasionally but do find it much more friendly and motivating on here.

sweetheart hope your wi goes well tonight. And yay for loose rings!!

wynken, drat those totm nibbles! 18 points left is loads though so you must have been doing something right!

lorelai what a nuisance. My ww leaders' motto is Snack but Track. I guess that's good advice.

spark well done for sts Smile Onward and downward!

teaandcrumpets that's a good idea about visualising your goals. I read somewhere that your brain can't tell the difference between real memories and visualisations of the same thing. So the more you see yourself as slim the easier it will be to reach that goal. Or something like that...

Lee sorry you are feeling things are a bit slow. Even a pound is a good weight loss (a pound of sugar weighs a significant amount). Also just think how long (years?) you may have been carrying that pound around so to lose it in one week is a great achievement.

Right better get back to it... have a good afternoon m'dears. Will try to look back in later to check you are all behaving

gibbberish · 26/01/2011 13:59

Futurity double choc cookies range from about 6 - 11 pps according to the online tracker Shock

futurity · 26/01/2011 14:19

(picks self up from floor!)...hmmm..thought it would be something like that! I do have 8 exercise points saved up so could dip into that...difficult to tell how much they would be...maybe if I have the smallest one!!?

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/01/2011 14:27

starvin well done for getting into jeans, soon they will be baggy :)

norma not sure tbh, working late so probably a ready low fat M&S meal and veg

sweetheart well done on gym

leewt good luck with WI tonight and slow and steady is the way to go, you will get there

tea well done on 3 lb loss, who cares if it is ali or ww, you are losing weight

lorelai sorry you gained and hope next week is a better week for you food and WI

lou welcome

futurioty stay away from the cookies!!!!

futurity · 26/01/2011 14:32

lol! have worked out food for the rest of the day and I have 4 points left without going into exercise points...so am still pondering the cookie!

sweetheart · 26/01/2011 14:36

Hi Lou (waves) welcome on board!

Futurity - STEP AWAY FROM THE COOKIES Put them somewhere out of sight and forget about them! They might taste good but they are full of sugar and butter and lots of other fattening things - a moment on the lips a lifetime on the hips. How will you feel if you get on the scales and they say you have put on - then you'll think "Bugger, I shouldn't have eaten those cookies!!!!!"

Go and do something to busy yourself and stop looking at them and thinking about them.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/01/2011 14:37

i couldnt justify 11 pp on a cookie - thats a meal!!!

but if was 4/6 then maybe as you have 4pp left and exercise points banked ....

futurity · 26/01/2011 14:47

totally agree...can't justify 11 points EVER!...that is WAY to high...it is the fact that it could be between 6 and 11 which makes it a pain. Tescos are swines for not having the nutritional information on them!

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/01/2011 14:48

'blondes dreams of what a 11 pp cookie would taste like'
