Well here we go, New Year and NEW US. Wishing everyone good luck and sending lots of happy vibes so that we can all reach our goals Smile

Absolutely, the poor woman.

Loving all the food talk - I've had a banana, and a poached egg on toast (no butter) with chilli salt, which I think I'm addicted to. Also had to pop to the drs this morning, so decided to walk "briskly" rather than my normal sluggish pace. Took 10 mins there and back and apparently burned a mahoosive 70 calories, so that's my slice of toast burnt off Blush. Have to go food shopping this morning so will "briskly" walk to Waitrose as well.

Just wondered, what's everyone's favourite healthy meal?

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 20/01/2011 09:42

Morning all!

Dinky - i would of eaten more than just a broken cookie as i have zero will power, and the crumble sounds delish.

Buda - hope you have a nice meal out at your friends (and i also saw rivens posts and saw her DD on bbc news this morning).

TDW- i hope your DS feels better soon, its awfull when they are not well.

I am feeling a bit better today, about to eat 2 whole meal crusty bread rolls as im now starving (all i had yesterday was a banana smoothie) and need the energy. I know its not healthy but i will be on track as normal tomorrow.

thedogwalker · 20/01/2011 14:19

Hello all

Shaxx, you did brilliantly not to eat any of your rock cakes, so you and Dinky have great willpower, good on you both.

DS and me are full of cold, mine is above neck, his is on his chest, poor lamb.

So day 5 in the big shred house. I managed to do the shred even though my cold not helping. Out of breath but actually felt fitter muscle wise today, so hopefully I am improving.

Hope you feel better soon thinbride.

Take care all and stay in the zone ready for weigh in tomorrow Smile

OP posts:
knottyhair · 20/01/2011 16:37

Shaxx - did you have your rock cake as your treat??
TDW - hope you feel better soon and massively well done for doing the shred with a cold!
Thinbride - hope you feel better soon as well.
I've made blackberry ice cream for DP and DS this afternoon. I had a small spoonful, just for quality control purposes - ahem.

dinkystinky · 20/01/2011 16:44

Glad you're feeling abit better Thinbride - and hope you and DS feel better soon Thedogwalker. Seriously (esp if you're still bfing as the nipper will be depleting your mineral and vit stores) vit c and zinc is the way forward for reducing the period of being lurgified.

Blackberry icecream sounds delicious Knottyhair. I made leek and potato soup for lunch but forgot to put it in the fridge at work so was all fizzy by the time I poured it in a bowl - so had to bin it and have bleeurgh emergency cup a soup instead (nowhere near as satisfying) and lots of corn crackers for lunch . Boo hiss.

thedogwalker · 20/01/2011 17:58

Sorry but after the afternoon I've had I really don't care that it is weigh day tomorrow. I was cutting my DS's fingernails with a nail clipper when I accidentally cut a bit of his skin off his thumb, he was crying for ages and I am still crying (he is now very happily playing on his playmat).

The whole experience of hurting him has uspet me so much that I have opened a bottle of red and I've just allowed myself half a glass, to calm my nerves Sad.

OP posts:
thinbridewaitingtogetout · 20/01/2011 18:02

Oh no TDW, i know you must feel awful but these things happen (i have done it twice to both mine) and i bet he has forgoten now!

Enjoy your glass of wine and i hope you manage to calm down a little.

Knottyhair the ice cream sound delish, i have just had a pizza for dinner and am having a cream egg later, but hey im not well and need cheering up (will be crying at weigh in tomorrow).

dinkystinky · 20/01/2011 20:25

TDW - I've done that with both my boys. No permanent damage I'm pleased to say (though they do prefer my DH clipping their nails now). Bet he cant remember it at all now!

iluvcake · 20/01/2011 20:47

thedogwalker, it's really upsetting doing that-I've done it as well!! (Think probably all mums have)-he'll been fine and it's amazing how fast baby skin heals.

Poor Riven-wonder how she is coping with all the media intrusion? Let's hope something positive comes out of this for her and others too.

I have had good day and just done 20mins on stepper. DH away tonight and I can't be bothered to cook so I'm just having toast-not good I know but I don't have it very often.

Good luck for weigh in tomorrow everyone.

knottyhair · 20/01/2011 22:26

Oh TDW - I've been there! Took us a while to work out the best way to keep DS still long enough to cut his nails was to pop him in front of Hollyoaks - strange child! It feels horrible but he sounds fine, hope you enjoyed your wine. Not sure whether to do Davina's Kick Fit or try the Shred for the first time in the morning...

thedogwalker · 21/01/2011 07:02

Well I'm gutted for a 2nd week as I've stayed the same again and I've done the shred every day. I must review my food intake Confused. I know I've been good, but maybe I'm being too good and not actually eating enough, so I will have to review my food combinations and intake. Back to the drawing board for me Sad.

Hope everyone has a better weigh in than me. Take care x

OP posts:
thinbridewaitingtogetout · 21/01/2011 07:19

Morning all.

TDW - do not fret, staying the same is better than a gain, non? And you could be right about not eating enough, make sure you have breakfast, lunch and dinner and 2 snacks in between and watch your portion sizes, or maybe write it a food diary for a week and you can see for yourself what you are eating?

I have weighed in and since last tuesday (when i was weighed at WW) i have lost 5.5lb, now this may sound fab but when i weighed myself on tuesday it was only 1lb so im fully expecting some of it to go back on this week as i have not really eaten properly for the last few days as not being well so im 13st 12.5lb (actually under the 14st barrier) and im going to be uber good this week as i want to stay under it.

knottyhair · 21/01/2011 07:51

Well done thinbride! That's brilliant. TDW - as Thinbride said, you haven't put any on, and it sounds like you know what you need to look at. I'm waiting for my weigh-in until I've done my workout this morning, but I did my first weigh-in on Tuesday, so I don't expect it to have changed yet, just hope I've not put any on....

sassythefirst · 21/01/2011 07:55

Hello ladies
I was on the original thread (think I was gherkinwithapurplemerkin at the time)and lost about 8lbs of the stone I want to lose.
About 4 have gone back on. Gah. Can I squeeze myself back in please?

I am 11st2 at the mo
Would like to be 10st 4 or thereabouts.

Just had Special K with raisins for breakfast. Going to do 45 mins on cross-trainer this pm - already booked machine to be sure I didn't duck out.

Is there a weigh in day??

thedogwalker · 21/01/2011 08:46

Hello Sassy and welcome back

Today is weigh day, so you have a whole week before you have to jump on them again. Good luck and we'll help you to stay on the sraight and narrow Smile

OP posts:
justaminute · 21/01/2011 09:06

I've got the hump!

4 pounds on for me!!! I'm back to where I started. 11-9.

I've drunk water, exercised, had soup for lunch and a couple of salads for dinner too this week. Okay I have eaten some crap but not four flippin' pounds worth. grrr.

Shaxx · 21/01/2011 09:35

Hi Sassy. Welcome back to the thread Smile

Thinbride well done! I'm sure you won't put it back on if you're good this week!

The dogwalker try counting all your calories just for a few days and see how much you're having. Tell us what you're eating and we'll have a look for you. Its still good you stayed the same!

Justaminute there may be other reasons for your fluctuations so try not to be disheartened. You could try counting your cals for a couple of days too and see where you can make changes.

Well I've lost 0.5lbs! I am really pleased with that after my major biffing weekend but then I was really strict on mon and tues and did not go over 1000cals and stuck to 1200 for wed and yesterday.

knottyhair · 21/01/2011 09:58

Justaminute - try not to let it get you down, and keep at it.
Shaxx - well done on the loss!
Well, I did Davina Kickfit and my legs are knackered! My weight has stayed the same, but it's only since Tuesday, so hopefully might see some difference next Friday.

dinkystinky · 21/01/2011 09:59

Morning ladies and welcome back Sassy/Gherkin - Cyb and Coco and Buda are lurking aroudn the place somewhere too. And TripsofHazard makes the occasional appearance. Today is weigh in day - and I have lost 2 lbs. So keeping the faith does work (TDW, take note). Justaminute - didnt you lose 4lbs last week - so essentially its a sts over 2 weeks for you? Keep the faith my friend and stay in the zone and it (and hopefully a few more lbs) will be off again next week.

TDW - IME Shred is good for losing inches, not weight. So dont pin your weight loss hopes on it too hard.

justaminute · 21/01/2011 13:20

Shaxx - 1000 calories! Are you not starving? I joined Food focus in the week. It calculated my net calorie goal if I want to lose 1lb/week as 1557. I've entered what I've eaten/plan to eat for today and come to 1387 so room for a treat Smile

I've got lots of events planned for this year that should be motivating me to be slinky but I just can't seem to focus on them
I'm feeling tired and sorry for myself - I need to pull my socks and give myself a kick up the butt.

Dinky (baking goddess) way to go woman - well done!

iluvcake · 21/01/2011 13:57

ah, justaminute, don't get too down. 4lbs sounds a lot in a week when you've been pretty good. Are you weighing on the same scales?? As dinky says, a STS if you take it over 2 weeks.

Well done thinbride, shaxx, knotty (hope I haven't missed anyone out!). We are all doing well with the exercise too-great! Welcome, Sassy too!

I have lost 0.5lb this week. A good result for the amount of chocolate I've biffed on. Can't seem to get totally back in the zone. I really miss the energy boost it gives me when I cut out the sugar.

Only a week before I go on holiday so I would like to lose another 1lb (at least).

Keep fighting the fight everyone!!

knottyhair · 21/01/2011 14:25

Well done, iluvcake!

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 21/01/2011 14:25

TDW i just wanted to say, i stand corrected, my mother has already asked to invite 2 of her friends, said i should have a fruit cake (because not everyone wants to eat the cake there you know!), questioned my starter, telling me how to seat the top table and many other irritating crap! She is a mother-of-the-bridezilla!

Oh and well done, iluv, dinky knotty and shaxx (is that everyone?). Im gonna try and shred tomorrow as feeling better today.

iluvcake · 21/01/2011 14:50

thinbride, I had to put the phone down on my mum because she laughed at me when I said I was having a string quartet (we got married in a hotel).

Also, one of my aunties got really funny as she wasn't being "picked up by a wedding car" from her home-Hmm She was just a normal guest, no even part of the wedding party!

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 21/01/2011 15:09

iluvcake, my mother is a royal pain in the arse!

I said i was having a sponge wedding cake and she mentioned as above that you have to have fruit as not everone wants to eat it there and then (i said thats fine they can wrap it in a napkin and take it home!) and she started again today "well the botton teir could be fruit..." , i have told her in no uncertin terms to remove all notions of fruit cake from her mind as there wont be one!

I also got "is there not a choice for main cousre?" Erm hello, no there bloody well is not! Its not like she is paying for the wedding or anything (she is helping pay for my dress).
