Well here we go, New Year and NEW US. Wishing everyone good luck and sending lots of happy vibes so that we can all reach our goals Smile

OP posts:
Shaxx · 25/03/2011 14:10

Knotty I'm sure your gain is af related or some other random fluctuation. You're doing amazingly well. How much have you lost altoghether now?

Karma your weight loss sounds fine. I agree with JAM that 7lbs in one week claims are not to be really trusted. You're doing the right things from the sounds of it. Just stick to it and the weight will come off Smile

I had a couple of manky bananas so ds2 and I have baked banana and choc chip muffins. We're going to the woods after school with friends and the idea is to take all the muffins and hope they get scoffed.
They smell so good. Someone please make sure I don't eat them Grin

fedupofnamechanging · 25/03/2011 14:23

Thanks justaminute and Shaxx. Nice to know I'm not abnormally slow at losing weight!

dinkystinky · 25/03/2011 17:18

Well done losers. I have to admit I have a gain of 3lbs this week (all those sts'es finaly resulted in a gain as did late night eating etc while working crazy hours and some biffing this week - also due on) so its back into the zoe with me.

Karma - loss of 2lbs a week is sustainable. 7lbs a week is definitely not!

knottyhair · 26/03/2011 07:41

Morning! Shaxx, the muffins sound lovely, hope you were able to have a small sample! Dinky, you'll be back on it and losing again in no time, and Karma, I totally agree with the others, 7lbs a week is not realistic! If you do it slowly and steadily, you're more likely to stick with it and keep it up in the long term. Going to have a day off exercising today - have done 6 days on the trot and have to crack on helping DS make an aquarium from a cardboard box for school project, complete with dangling sharks Confused. I'm not the most crafty mum in the world but have a few tips from my BF who is one of Mister Maker's "helpers", so fingers crossed it won't be a complete mess! Got veggie mulligatawny soup for lunch, and a mini healthy roast chicken meal for dinner later. Have a good one xx

wildstrawberryplace · 26/03/2011 16:34

79.1 kilos this morning - not a full week yet so hope to lose a bit more...

Well done for everyone elses losses too.

Short post I'm afraid, I have terrible headache etc I assume from caffeine and sugar withdrawal. Other than that, Zoe Harcombe is a thumbs up so far.

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 27/03/2011 08:37

Fuckity fuck, just wrote a post and lost it! Grrrrr will re post later.

knottyhair · 27/03/2011 09:01

Morning! Ended up having an Indian takeaway last night instead of the planned chicken! Think I was OK though, had tandoori king prawns, half a portion of saag paneer and 2 chappatis. It was very tasty! DS had a sleepover here with his lovely but food phobic friend, and it was a bit chaotic so I didn't bother attempting to cook a roast dinner! Am doing Level 3 Shred in a bit when DS's friend has gone home, and then we're off to Greenwich to friends for lunch. Hope everyone's enjoying the weekend x

fedupofnamechanging · 27/03/2011 09:39

Morning all.

I struggle at weekends because my MIL turns up on fridays with tons of chocolate for the kids. Usually, I just like to keep a little in the house, rather than a whole weeks supply. Managed to restrict myself to 2 minstrels. Minstrels are a weakness of mine and probably responsible for the 3 stone I need to lose!

I cooked the Spring Chicken from the BBC food website. It was lovely, so thanks for the recommendation knottyhair.

Spent yesterday attempting to clean my car, so I can sell it. I think it was quite good exercise, trying to get the juice marks out of the seats!

Anyway, hope you all have a good Sunday

knottyhair · 27/03/2011 09:55

Chapatis Blush. Well done on just the 2 Minstrels karma!

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 27/03/2011 10:05

quick re capp of message i was gonna post;

Im going to buy running trainers thia afternoon so i can attempt the couch to 5 k, but i have also managed to really hurt my neck/back turing in bed so i may wait till tomorrow to try them out!

i was a Car crash yesterday, buffet, cupcakes, birthdaycake and Mc Donalds!

Today is a new day. Planning on porridge for breakfast with a banana in and having a grilled steak and veggies for lunch and some hm soup for dinner tonight i think.

Really want to go out on first run tonight so hope my neck gets better!

Knotty - the indian sound lovely.

knottyhair · 27/03/2011 10:15

Thinbride, look after yourself and be careful of your neck, don't rush to try out your trainers, one more day won't make much difference Smile. I must learn to read posts more slowly. I thought you'd been in a car crash, and was thinking "no wonder your neck hurts" Grin! Glad that wasn't the case though!

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 27/03/2011 13:26

Ooops sorry, it dose look like i have been in a car crash! * disclaimer, i have not been in a car crash!*

Neck is feeliong better already, well more than this morning! Think i will have a power walk this evening to break in the trainers (if they have them in stock!).

Well i hope you all have a fab weekend!

dinkystinky · 27/03/2011 14:39

Thinbride - a walk sounds like a good idea. Take it easy with your neck though - have some ibuprofen which will help if is a muscular issue (either the gel or the tablets - not both) - warm bath/shower (targeting that area) might help too.

DH and I went out last night - went to a lovely persian restaurant where I was v restrained (just a little bit of flatbread and aubergine dip then some lovely spinach and lamb stew with a small portion of rice) then out to see a gig at the Roundhouse which was excellent. Sadly got woken up by DS2 at 5 am (current time!) this morning to do penance though but made it out to do my pt session (trainer has new 8kilo kettlebells - after getting so used to the 5 kilo bells the 8 kilos are a real shock to the system - but gave a good work out) then out for brunch with the boys where I had eggs florentine (but with only a tiny drizzle of holandaise sauce) and a skinny latte. Going to do Nigella's wasabi prawns with rocket for dinner tonight I think which is surprisingly low cal for her creations!

Hope all are having a good day.

Shaxx · 27/03/2011 15:45

Thinbride hope your neck gets better soon!

Knotty your Indian meal sounds wonderful. Hope you enjoyed lunch.

Wildstrawberry glad Harcombe is going ok. You should get a good loss by the end of your 5 days.

Karma I hope you were able to stay strong after the chocolate visit :)

Dinky all your food sounds yumm and your exercise sounds pretty hardcore. 8 Kilos?! Wow! I can barely exercise with 1.5 kilos!

I had a bit of blow out day yesterday. I went to see my mum and had a family get together so it was to be expected I guess but I'm back to it today.
Have had quorn, mushrooms, tomatoes for breakfast. Lentil soup for lunch and I've got some tandoori chicken with veg for dinner.
I've got 3 days of training at work this week where lunch and snacks are all provided. They usually do platter of sandwiches but I hope I get a chance to pop out and buy salads or soup or something as I'm really trying to not eat bread at all.

knottyhair · 27/03/2011 18:49

Dinky, your meal sounds fab, and your training sounds VERY HARD!! I can't imagine 8kg weights either Shock. Shaxx, tandoori chicken sounds lovely. Hope you get to buy the food you want for lunch this week - things like that are hard to deal with aren't they? Had a lovely lunch with our friends today - she had made lasagne, so I just had a smaller portion with salad and no oil or bread, and half a slice of the chocolate roulade pudding! We had a big walk round Greenwich Park afterwards, and I've got to cook the chicken tonight or it will go off, so I'll just have one piece with some salad later. What a gorgeous day here! Hope everyone has had a great weekend Smile.

dinkystinky · 27/03/2011 20:02

Blush It was pretty hard work I have to admit but I agree with Shredmaster Jillian - you have to keep pushing your body to do different things otherwise your fitness levels start to plateau.

Glad you had a lovely day Knotty and well done for planning ahead Shaxx. One of my friends makes sandwiches open top sandwiches when at training sessions - thereby having lunch but minimising bread intake. May be worth a go if you cant make it out to buy salad or soup.

Shaxx · 27/03/2011 20:32

Well done knotty on being good at lunch. You sound like you had a lovely time. We were in Greenwich Park last weekend. Its so lovely there and I really love the astronomy centre.

Dinky good idea about the sandwiches but I really dont want to eat bread. The training is in Canary Wharf and I'm sure we'll get an hr for lunch so I'm hoping its not going to be a problem to get out for a bit and locate the nearest Itsu (my fave place ever!). Otherwise I'll just be eating the fruit Smile

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 28/03/2011 09:03

My god you lot are making m mouth water with all this talk of yummy food!

My lot are sooooo boring and and unadventurous so any new things i tend to just make myself, even though i do try to smuggle new recipes in!

Never got my trainers as sport drect was closed 20 mins earlier than advertised, not impressed as we did travel 40 min to get there, i feel a snotty email coming on.

Will prob order them online tho. Im off wedding ring "window" shopping today to get an idea of what style we like, then order them cheaper online!

knottyhair · 28/03/2011 10:05

Morning! Thinbride, how exciting, choosing rings! And hope you get your trainers sorted. Shaxx, glad you said the Astronomy Centre was good, we wanted to take DS there as he's slightly obsessed with the big bang and all things Brian Cox at the moment. Hope your training goes OK.

Just done 6W6P, still level 1 but with weights and some of the advanced versions, although not the spider plank advanced versions, can't EVER imagine being able to do that Blush. Had porridge for breakfast, the last of the minestrone soup for lunch and grilled sausages, new potatoes & veg for tea. Oh well, better have a shower and fill in the bloody pain in the arse census form.
Have a good Monday everyone!

justaminute · 28/03/2011 10:23

Thinbride I encourage you to get your trainers and get going on the C25K programme. Amazingly I did three 25 minute runs last week, each time I ran a little further so I?m very chuffed. However my efforts in 7 weeks have been surpassed by dh. Years ago he ran the London marathon nowadays he goes out for the odd half hour but having seen me get into running he started to train 5 weeks ago for a half marathon which he did yesterday in under 2 hours. I?m very proud of him. Consequently we had celebratory sausage sandwiches for lunch and his favourite shepherd?s pie & ice cream for dinner. Now I need to head back into the zone, I liked being a loser last week Smile

Shaxx · 28/03/2011 19:45

Thinbride thats so exciting! Do you have any idea what you want?

Knotty I've always been a bit obssessed with astronomy myself. I've had a passion for it since I was about 8. If only Greenwich was a bit closer, I'd love to do one of their courses!
Well done on your exercise.

JAM well done to your dh! Thats brill! You've every right to be proud Smile
I agree with you - being a loser feels great Grin

As for me. well I am not as strong as I thought.

Dh set the alarm at 5.40 (the equivalent of 4.40 pre clock change!) as he had a meeting really early.
I went to my training and they threw food at us all day! We had bowls of sweets on our tables, had yummy nutty cookies and shortbread with every coffee break and really nice rolls and baguettes with qualty crisps and fruit at lunch. I couldn't get out so I followed your tip dinky (thanks!) and took the tops of the rolls off and had fruit. I resisted the sweets but succumbed to 2 cookies mainly because I was tired I think.
I thought I coped quite well until I got home and a friend brought round huge cupcakes Blush

I'm off to bed early tonight and I am NOT having any cookies tomorrow! (Argh I have 2 more days of this!)

dinkystinky · 28/03/2011 21:37

JAM - well done on you and your DH at doing so well with your running! V impressive!

Hope the wedding ring shopping went well Thinbride - and helps you get back into the zone.

Shaxx - well done on holding back. Drink lots of water and will stop you mindlessly nibbling is my other top tip...

knottyhair · 29/03/2011 10:09

Morning! JAM, that is amazing! Seriously impressive of both you and your DH Smile! Shaxx, ooh, I didn't know they did courses. We've got tickets to Uncaged Monkeys at beg May (Robin Ince, Prof Brian Cox etc) which I'm very excited about. And sounds like you coped well with the lunch.

Just did 6W6P again today, and managed the side planks which I'm pleased about. Still hate mountain climbers Angry. Got chicken soup for lunch, and prawn & tomato pasta bake for tea later. Have a good day xx

Shaxx · 29/03/2011 18:16

I think the less said about today, the better.
I think I'll just go with the carb-and-fat-loaded flow while on the course and get back to normality on thursday.

I hope everyone had a better day than I did!

fedupofnamechanging · 29/03/2011 21:56

Had an okay day today. Made the Thai turkey burgers on the BBC food site, but didn't add enough spice, so they were too turkeyish iykwim.

Had chocolate yesterday, so feel a bit guilty, but avoided it today.

I am so bored though and really missing watching a DVD in the evening with a big bar of fruit and nut chocolate!

Do the cravings ever go away? Have been reducing sugar to try and get rid of the urge to eat lots of sweet stuff, but am missing the chocolate a lot.
