Morning all. Haven't done any measuring yet, but I've lost 2lb this week so happy with that. Going to do Davina Cardio box this morning, and our friends unfortunately have had to cancel their visit due to illness, but at least that means I can exercise over the weekend. Good luck everyone!

dinkystinky · 18/02/2011 09:25

Forgot to weigh in this morning as work super manic crazy busy - suspect its a sts or slight gain though. Ho hum. Well done on your loss Knotty and good luck for the other WIs.

justaminute · 18/02/2011 11:30

Well done Knotty.

My yo yo ride continues. One pound back on here.

Might not be about much next week. It?s half term. I have to entertain the children for a couple of days before despatching them to gps and then I?ll work 3 full days (work let me be flexible with my hours in school hols). Not sure what is worse a full day at work or 2 days with the dcs Wink

Dinky ?I sympathise with the work stresses ? although I?m loving the ?super manic crazy busy? terminology ? I might have to pinch that one.

iluvcake · 18/02/2011 12:07

Hi all. STS here. Managed bootcamp class this morning.

Well done Knotty-a great loss. Justaminute, a inch off your waist is really good. I'll bet you have toned up all over as well.

It is a struggle at times as we all know but at least we're going about it the right way. We might have set backs but we're not doing stupid crash diets or anything wacky. That's better long term. I feel much better now that AF is nearly finished-(thinking about the foods I need to stock up on to get back in the zone) and am sure you will too justamin.

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 18/02/2011 12:17

Morning all, well done on the loss knotty!

I have put on 3/4 of a lb! But im not bothered as i was bad all weekend and done no exercise.

I have no kitchen as it was ripped out this morning, so it will be an eventfull week!

Me and DD are off to Glasgow for the day on Thursday to meet my mum and sisters for a spot of wedding dress shopping, cant wait.

Hope you all have a good weekend and good half term.

knottyhair · 19/02/2011 13:01

Hi everyone! No exercise for me today but I'm staying within my allowance - had poached egg on toast for breakfast, an expensive but tasty Innocent Veg Pot for lunch, and am doing a lower fat version of sausage stew for tea. Going to do Level 1 Shred tomorrow morning, Level 2 Monday, and back to Level 3 on Tuesday. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Guitargirl · 20/02/2011 10:09

Hi everyone, well done knotty! Justaminute - congrats on 30 days of shredding - very impressive! TDW - hope it's going ok in Germany.

I put on a pound on Friday. Not suprising. I had a very good start to the week, didn't biff last weekend, etc. and then I got a very bad cold, stopped exercising and ate my weight in white bread toast. Ah well...half-term this week and we have family visiting. Am off to make brownies with DD - will try not to lick out the bowl!

Guitargirl · 20/02/2011 10:11

TDW - sorry, just re-read, you're travelling from Germany, so hope it's going ok in Wales!

knottyhair · 20/02/2011 13:53

Mmmm, white bread toast. With butter.

knottyhair · 21/02/2011 09:18

Morning! Guitargirl, I don't think one pound is too bad! I should be alright most of the week, although I can't exercise every day but most. Got 2 parties for DS's birthday at the weekend though (one for his mates, one for family). I'm not bothered about cake but I have to be strong when it comes to crisps and nuts (both his faves so I can't not put them out!) Just have to try to be extra good this week I suppose. Oh well, better go and stuff a pinata...

dinkystinky · 21/02/2011 17:12

You'd dropped off the threads I'm on.

Hope all well and had a good weekend. Guitargirl - get in teh zone with you and you'll lose that lb in no time!

knottyhair · 23/02/2011 07:09

Morning! How's everyone doing? I'm not managing to exercise every day due to half term, but about every other day, and I'm sticking to my calorie allowance so fingers crossed for the weigh-in.
Hope everyone's having a good week.

dinkystinky · 23/02/2011 08:51

Wow its quiet on here - must be half term or something Grin

Knotty - if you stick to your calorie allowance you're sure to lose. I find it quite interesting to have a no exercise (or v little exercise) week every so often to see how my weight loss goes.

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 23/02/2011 15:26

Afternoon all, seriously off the rails.

My mums partner was taken very ill on fri night, and i went to scotland to be with her and got back yest but he passed away today, so going back tomorrow.

Will prob not be around for a bit.

knottyhair · 23/02/2011 16:09

Thinbride, so sorry to hear that. Hope your journey to Scotland goes OK xx

dinkystinky · 23/02/2011 16:47

Oh no Thinbride - I'm so sorry. My thoughts are with you and your family at this sad, sad time. Your poor mum. Hope your journey goes ok. Take care.

knottyhair · 24/02/2011 07:35

Morning. Yes tis very quiet! People must have better things to do than be on MN! (Reminder to self - must get jaffa cakes, milk and a life Smile). Going to do Davina in a bit, not sure which yet but something involving arms and abs, my legs are knackered! Although am toying with idea of one of the aerobicky ones. On the menu today - prawns, h/m guacamole & ryvitas for lunch, and chicken in a "creamy" sauce (small amount of creme fraiche) with kale for tea. Now, off to get a life.

iluvcake · 25/02/2011 08:49

Hi all.

So sorry to hear about your mum's partner thinbride, that is so sad. Thinking of you. XX

thedogwalker too, hope all is ok.

Busy doing kids stuff this week and have NOT been good with food or exercise. No bootcamp or pilates this week due to half term and dance class is finished. Forgot to weigh myself this morning and have eaten breakfast so will weigh tomorrow morning.

knotty, I'm thinking of getting the Jillian Micheals fat burner dvd-think it's about 40mins. So probably do-able at least 2/3 times a week.

My new goal is May-to be bikini ready. I still haven't lost my ski hol biffing weight and it all goes on my tummySad. Roll on Monday-yes, I know I said last Monday(!) but I NEED to get back in the zone.

Hope everyone else is ok and having a good half term/not to stressed juggling work and half-term.

knottyhair · 25/02/2011 09:01

Hi everyone. Not Shredding today - have woken up feeling quite rough, really sore throat and achey so going to wait until Sunday and see if it develops into anything - will Shred on Sunday if I'm no worse. I've only lost 0.25lb this week - seem to have a good result one week, not so good the next! Not sure why, have been eating the same, only missed one extra day of exercise due to half-term but there you go! Am pre-menstrual so could be that. Anyhoo, onwards and upwards. On a positive note, I started measuring myself last week and this week, I've gone down half an inch under boob, an inch around my belly and half an inch around my hips. Have gained an inch round one of my calves Shock! iluvcake, I'll let you know what the fat burner DVD is like if I get to do it next week - you'll be back in the zone next week I'm sure. Dogwalker and thinbride, hope things are OK (stupid thing to say, but as OK as they can be) xx

justaminute · 25/02/2011 09:37

Well done Knotty for keeping the thread active - you seem to be going great guns, ignore the scales for this week, you've lost inches instead.

My best wishes are sent to all the "nothing tastes" posters with family tragedies.

Sorry I've been AWOL, half term, busy with work and feeling hypocritical about posting. I weighed in today and the scales hit 12 stone Blush I was heavily pregnant when I last weighed that much Sad. I've been exercising (Doing Davina and I'm now on week 4 of couch to 5K) and eating well but then I go and blow it by having stupid binges (whole packets of jaffa cakes, multipacks of kit kats etc).

I think I need to follow an eating plan. This weekend I'm going to dig out a Rosemary Coneley low fat/ high GI book I have lurking somewhere in the house and knuckle down on Monday.

dinkystinky · 25/02/2011 10:40

1/2 lb off this week but have been stupidly busy again and not exercising v much this week so the 1/2 lb off must have been to do with stress!

Hope you feel better Knotty - take it easy. If you're eating the same, you can stall. Try shaking things up abit and should show a loss. Congrats on the losses. I have always had stupidly chunky calves -think its due to all the exercise I do. Its fine so long as you dont want to wear long skinny boots or skinny jeans...

Justaminute - if you have these binges, you need to look at what is triggering them and address that. Is it boredom (which is my trigger), stress, or emotional eating? Once you find the trigger, you can address it by doing something else instead. If distraction doesnt work, then you need to rid your house of temptation until you've addressed the causes. You want to lose weight, you will lose weight - following an eating plan will help but dont make it too restrictive or you will break out and binge and stay on in the same cycle.

Guitargirl · 25/02/2011 14:22

Hi everyone!
I have been bad. Had family visiting this week. Walked lots as have been taking them out and about sight-seeing. But, my God, I have eaten. Not brave enough to face the damage on the scales this morning.

Am starting afresh tomorrow and going back to shred.

knottyhair · 25/02/2011 14:49

Justaminute, would just echo Dinky's advice. You can do it! Dinky, well done on your loss and thanks for the encouragement. Guitargirl, it's so hard when you have visitors etc., I bet it's not as bad you think. I've got DS's birthday party tomorrow (adults and kids) with my worst temptations on the menu (sausages and crisps!), so I'll allow myself a little bit so I don't feel deprived and hope everyone else wolfs it down quickly! Also got family round on Sunday for birthday cake but I'm not too bothered about sweet stuff so that should be OK. Monday is DS's actual birthday and we're taking him to London as he has an inset day, and we're having lunch and dinner out, so could be tricky. Will order as sensibly as I can without being a killjoy Smile. Still feel rough, no energy at all which is not conducive to the weekend we have planned but don't have a massive appetite at least. Have a good one everyone xx

dinkystinky · 25/02/2011 15:02

Happy birthday to your DS Knotty - hope you have a fab weekend of celebrations and your DS has a fab day. What are you going to do in London with him?

dinkystinky · 25/02/2011 15:03

Guitargirl - draw a line now and start afresh now. All that walking you've been doing is a good thing - so keep up the good work. Just focus on the eating side too.
