You too thinbride, have a good one. Had a fairly good day today, shredded this morning, but had my friend's DS's 4th birthday party this afternoon, and there was TONS of food. Managed to just have 2 quarters of a roast beef sandwich, one glass of bubbly and a few carrot sticks and hummus, but DP and DS ate a lot so didn't want tea when we got home. DS had toast & marmite before bed, and I made toasted ham & cheese sandwiches (mine had only a little bit of cheese in) this evening. Just feel like it's the first day I haven't been able to track my calories properly but I don't think it was too bad! Had a lovely evening last night, my Leggera was nice and film was very good (The Fighter - highly recommended!).

dinkystinky · 14/02/2011 09:05

Morning all - Knotty, sounds like you were pretty virtuous. It was DS2's birthday party yesterday - lots of running around meant I only got one glass of champagne and half a slice of cake during the party but made up for it afterwards as was so tired (DS2 seems to have a bad case of croup at the moment so sleep is very much an elusive thing in the dinky household). Still is Monday today, line drawn and back into the zone with me. Hope you all have a lovely valentines day today.

knottyhair · 14/02/2011 09:52

Morning. dinky, hope your DS had a good time despite his croup, poor thing. Hope you get some decent sleep soon.
Was due to do Day 9 of Level 2 shred today, but on a whim decided to try Level 3 instead. I think I enjoyed it more than Level 2 actually, although some moves were like "WTF!". Did the sumo jump things and thought "these are easy" but felt like my legs were going to fall off by the second time round. The scissor crunches made me feel very weird! Managed full travelling press-ups which I was very proud off, had to put my knees down in Level 1. And did the plank things with the weights OK but had to do Anita style rock star jumps, and side planks - in fact, I barely got off the floor! Sorry, very boring for anyone who doesn't do the shred. I'm going now Blush.

justaminute · 14/02/2011 10:18

Knotty ? Well done for braving level 3, I feel your pain. Level 3 makes me feel like a frog with all the jumping. Very impressed you can do 2 full sets of travelling push ups, I?m still struggling with those and as for the scissor crunches ? yuk! I get annoyed when she says ?nearly there ? just 10 more? 10 MORE!!! That not nearly there, 2 is nearly there in my book! Only 2 more sessions to do and I?ll have completed 30 days (it?s taken me much longer than 30 days mind you). I?m intrigued to see what the tape measure says.

Dinky ? I feel your pain too. Lack of sleep is a killer. My ds has always been an early riser, he typically wakes between 5 and 6am, regardless of bedtime. Tiredness leads to mindless eating for me so I hope you are able to be strong.

I managed to shred twice and do 2 runs (still more walking than running) in the last 3 days, so I?m pleased with that. food & drink hasn?t been so good but new day, new week etc?.

iluvcake · 14/02/2011 18:30

Hi all. Happy Valentines Day!

I have been.totally.crap.

Visitors at weekend and overindulged. Have bought all sorts of food I shouldn't have bought for a Valentines meal this evening.

Have fallen off the wagon big time and just can't seem to swing my leg back up again. Am so cross with myself, the pmt is back and is affecting me so badly I just want to eat and eat and eat. I'm becoming panicky about the amount of crap I'm eating, I just can't seem to stop.

I keep saying "tomorrow" and then I just start eating crap again. I'm desperate to get back to eating better. Haven't done any exercise since Friday.

I need a good hard kick up the jacksy-can someone oblige please?

knottyhair · 14/02/2011 18:43

Consider yourself kicked Grin! You can do it, iluvcake. Think about what you want to achieve, and how crap you feel now, and how good you feel when you're doing well. Is there any way you can alter tonight's meal slightly, or just have a smaller portion? You need to make a promise to yourself that you'll get back on the wagon tomorrow, and make a date with exercise of some form, and stick with it. It is so hard when you have PMT but I try to tell myself that biffing will just make me feel so much worse than I already do. Good luck and stick with it xx

knottyhair · 14/02/2011 18:44

And justaminute, I know exactly what you mean about "10 more"! I wanted to cry!

dinkystinky · 14/02/2011 21:18

Iluvcake - tomorrow is a new day. Draw a line under the biffing now. Meal plan for tomorrow and use distraction techniques - if you feel like biffing, make a hot drink or even better, paint your nails, do housework, do exercise - whatever to put it out your mind. Chances are you'll forget to biff. You know you enjoy exercise when you do it so get out there and do some. You'll feel better for it.

justaminute · 14/02/2011 22:01

I'm doing some hypocritical multi-tasking: I'm typing on a weight loss thread whilst watching Biggest Loser and eating Valentine's chocolates. Blush (to be fair I've only had one - dh is rationing them!)

iluvcake - I know what you mean about saying "I'll start tomorrow" I feel I've been doing a lot of that lately too. I have upped the exercise but I read in a magazine today that most women who embark on training for a 5K race PUT ON weight thinking that the exercise will compensate for additional food. I think I fall into that category. So come on, lets get back in that zone together. I want a fair race to lose the ski biffage Wink. I'm liking Dinky's distaction tips - except the housework one!

knottyhair · 15/02/2011 08:06

Justaminute, can I ask, do/did you have any problem doing the jumping lunges (other than the fact they're bloody awful!). It's just that I can't seem to coordinate properly, particular on one side, and I tend to land like a fairy elephant rather heavily, one foot at a time rather than together. Morning everyone BTW!

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 15/02/2011 08:29

Morning all!
Got a couple of questions about food focus, one is i think i have to many daily calories 1824 (approx) and how do you count your chicken noodle soup as im going to make some today for lunch!

knottyhair · 15/02/2011 08:48

I don't use food focus but I think the one I use is similar. Regarding your calories, as long as you've been accurate in the information you've put in regarding height, weight, age, activity level etc., it should be correct. I don't know about food focus but on my one, you can manually input calories rather than just searching for food items, so if you're following a recipe which gives the calorific value, you can just input that. Not sure if you follow a specific recipe for chicken noodle soup but there are a few on the Good Food site if you need inspiration. I'm sure someone else will be along who uses Food Focus and will be a lot more help! Good luck!

justaminute · 15/02/2011 09:18

Morning Knotty - I follow Anita for the jumping lunges i.e I just do lunges. I have tried to follow Natalie a couple of times but it was not a pretty sight. I didn't have much control on the landing (or the taking off Blush) I was worried that I was going to turn my ankle over so I do the easy version

knottyhair · 15/02/2011 09:50

Thanks justaminute. I've just finished the Shred for today, and I did do mostly some Anita and about two some Natalie lunges. I've got carpet burns on my elbows (first time in years Wink), from those plank things at the beginning. Think I may have to try and find my old yoga mat.

justaminute · 15/02/2011 10:11

Glad it?s not just me with the scuffed elbows.

thedogwalker · 15/02/2011 19:51

OMG, Knotty that is brilliant that you've gone to level 3 already. I'm still on Level 2, daren't go up yet. Hate the squats with the v arm raises in the 3rd set of strength and until I've mastered them, I'm going to stay on that level. But well done you. Your talk with justamin about level 3 has scared the pants off me, so now I'm no rush Grin.

Thinbride, I use food focus, manually input the soup under the create meals tab. I am allowed 1708 calories a day (before exercise) to lose 1 lb per week, so yours sounds about right.

iluv, get back on the wagon luv, have faith in yourself, you know you can do it. I know its been said loads of times and I'm sorry but I cannot recall the original author, but rememeber that feeling when you're lying in bed and you've had a good day, no biffing and you feel great. Well you know you want that feeling again, so give yourself a big kick up the backside Grin and come back to the fold. As Dinky says, put a line under it and strat anew. Good luck.

Well I had a bit of a biif day yesterday with the valentine meal, but I've been good all the other days and I've been shredding, so I hope to have evened it all out.

Hope eveyone is well. Take care xx

Morning all! Iluv, get back on that wagon you will feel loads better for it!

I biffed at the weekend and im still franticaly trying to rescue fridays weigh in as a sts, but i have been at work and not been able to exercise as i wanted.

Going to make that chicken noodle soup today after my house work is done.

iluvcake · 16/02/2011 11:20

Thanks everyone! You are all very kind.

I think I'll have to write off this week. PMT FINALLY gone thank God but have now come down with sore throat, headache, swollen glands etc. Also have AF from hell and have hurt my knee and have been told to lay off the exercise for a week-just feel like I need to get through this week and hopefully will feel more like getting back on track next week.

At friends over the weekend so aiming for Monday to ease myself gently back into the zone.

From what I've read, you are all doing really wellSmile. Well done and good luck for Friday!

thedogwalker · 16/02/2011 12:17

Hi everyone, I'm going AWOL for a couple of weeks. Got a family emergency (on DH's side)so having to travel from Germany to Wales tomorrow, earliest we could go with having to get jabs for the dog and so I won't be near a computer for a while, neither mine or my DH's nearest and dearest are with the 21st century.

I am 10 st 4 lbs and I hope to maintain whilst I am away, will let you know once I get back how I've managed. Good luck to everyone with this week's weigh in an keep up the good work. Take care xx

Thinbride, hope you enjoy your soup. iluvcake, poor thing, hope you feel better soon. TDW, hope it goes OK in Wales and sorry you have to go under sad circumstances.

Day off Shred today, but walked into town and have worked out my calories for the rest of the day and think I'll be OK. Think I'll do Shred tomorrow or Friday, then a Davina one on the other day just to mix it up a bit. We've got friends coming on Saturday until Monday, so will have to have a couple of days off but I may try to do it on Sunday morning, if it doesn't feel like I'm being too anti-social!

dinkystinky · 16/02/2011 13:28

Hi all - Iluv, hope your knee gets better soon - be kind to yourself. TDW - sorry to hear about the family emergency. Hope the travelling goes ok and sending best wishes in your direction.

justaminute · 16/02/2011 18:04

iluvcake - have a great weekend - look forward to seeing you back in the zone all perky on Monday

TDW - have a safe journey.

I completed 30 days of Shredding last night. I have measured and compared to my last measurements in November I have lost one inch off my waist absolutely nothing off anywhere else! I shouldn't be surprised though my food intake of late has been shocking. I really need to sort it out. Today I've worked my way through a biscuit mountain. Once I start I just can't stop. I'm loving the exercise but I just don't seem to have the will power to control my food.

Apologies for the rambling I know what I need to do I'm just finding it tough to do it. i need a weightloss fairy to wave her magic wand. Hope the rest of you are having a good day.

justaminute · 17/02/2011 09:55

Reason for biffing identified ? pesky AF arrived early.

I?m stocking up on salad to redeem myself

knottyhair · 17/02/2011 09:59

Justaminute, an inch off your waist is pretty good! Try not to beat yourself up about your food intake, just draw a line under it and start again today. It's very hard I know! I bought a tape measure yesterday so I can measure myself as well as weighing in tomorrow, although obviously won't know if I've lost any inches until next week. Wish I'd done it at the beginning. Just done Day 3 of Level 3 and it was a bloody struggle - had a day off yesterday and I really felt it. Had to do a lot more Anita moves today but did manage Rocky style sit-ups, and think I may have actually left the floor in the side planks. Might do Davina tomorrow just for variation, then work my way back up through the levels one day on each. Can't exercise much this weekend due to friends staying but I've planned all the meals out so hopefully won't be too bad. Have a good day everyone!
