i joined sw 3 weeks ago and have lost half a stone (i do have a lot to lose). I am loving it so far and as everyone said its great to eat without weights and measures for everything.

my only problem is that i am not great at thinking combinations for meals and am so worried ill get stuck in a rut and give up. fingers x that doesn't happen {hopefull}

nocakeformeplease can i be a pest and ask for a copy of your stuff from e bay also, it will be gratefully appreciated.

Good luck for the weekend everyone xx

DreamTeamGirl · 28/01/2011 13:04

Welcome in screamingskull

Dont forget almost anything can be turned into a SW meal, so if you need any help adapting old favourites just shout :)

Well done agalch

Furball I am the same, except I got to a baggy 16 and lost 2st10lb and have stuffed almost all of it back on .... Good luck for the next 3 weeks

Kid are you joining a group or just doing SW from home?

kid · 28/01/2011 16:11

i'm just doing sw by myself at home, thats my plan anyway.
I also intend on joining a gym, I am hopefully going to look around there tonight and will then sign up with the intention of going a few times a week.

Today went better than yesterday but as the day went on, I ate more and more. I usually eat a bagel with a sandwich filler at lunch time which I know is awful but its so nice and so convenient. But today, I had ryvitas and light cream cheese and I don't feel half a bloated as I usually do.

Fridays are usually a takeaway, I was thinking of getting chinese and just sticking to a chicken chow mein as I know they are the best option on an EE day. Even if I haven't stuck entirely to plan, its a lot better than the crap I ate yesterday Grin

I weighed myself again today and those pesky scales can't make up their mind. According to them, I've lost 9lb since Thursday and I know that's not possible!

Oh well, if the scales don't know how much I weigh, I'll just have to go by body measurements instead.

screamingskull · 30/01/2011 14:42

thanks dreamteamgirl will do Smile.

starting to get anxious about tomorrows weigh in all ready... dam you vodka

Furball · 31/01/2011 10:24

I've been for 1/2 walk after waking ds to school.

Just cooking up massive chilli with quorn to have for lunch and tea on jacket.

I think if you didn't know it was quorn - you wouldn't know ifswim - I'll test dh tonight! Wink

DreamTeamGirl · 31/01/2011 13:36

Hi octopusinabox
Re the superfree, its more about making a decent amount (1/3rd plus) of your meal up from the really good stuff- eg the superfree veggies and not just eating masses of rice & meat IYSWIM?

No need to weigh it, measure by eye and yes the veggies you put in your curry totally count.

If you, for example, make the curry half meat half veggies (by volume) then you have a plate of (roughly) half curry, half rice then you would have a plate of 1/4 veggies. So increase the veggies in the curry and have a bit more curry and a bit less rice (in this example)

Does that make sense?

Wow kid 9lbs would be amazing. Did you join the gym? Could you use their scales once a week for weigh ins?

Furball · 01/02/2011 17:10

Oh god - been out for lunch and it's not good. and apart from the lamb chops and chips - I just could not turn down the sticky toffee pudding and cream...........

I will be walking it off for 1 1/2 hours whilst ds is at cubs tonight.

WI tomorrow - what a fool I've been. I hope I remember this feeling and take it with me for next time. It is soooooo not worth it.

Furball · 01/02/2011 21:12

Couldn't eat tea as I was so full. Walked just under 4 miles in me MBT trainers whilst ds was at cubs. It won't have undone the bad, but.....I think I'm going to do it every week. Smile

DreamTeamGirl · 02/02/2011 09:44

Oh furball :(
Dont beat yourself up tho, real life carries on, and you can only do your brst to fit into that and stay on track
By the way, do you do Fit logs? If you put your walking etc onto a fit-log, and keep it up for 4 weeks you can an extra shiny sticker and certificate at group :)

Furball · 02/02/2011 13:11

Thanks dreamteamgirl Smile - no I don't do fit logs I'm too lazy probably not active enough

I will report though I lost 1/2 lb - how I don't know, but I'm not going to argue Grin

kid · 02/02/2011 21:16

I finally joined the gym but I haven't been yet. I have been much healthier foodwise this week and I have walked to DS's school twice this week (20 minute each way) which is a good start.

I am really excited about going to the gym, I need something to take my mind and frustration off work and I think that will do just the trick Grin

ballinderrymum · 02/02/2011 22:46

i joined 3 weeks ago - doing extra easy and have lost 9lbs so far. my problem time is night time. i eat even though i am not hungry. no self control :(

agalchchangedhername · 03/02/2011 08:05

3rd weigh in tonight. Bricking it again eek!!!

Lost 7lbs 1st week and 1lb on my 2nd week so goodness knows what tonight will bring Hmm

TitsalinaBumSquash · 03/02/2011 08:09

Woohoo! I lost 3lbs this week Grin

I have got my sister to join the flock to.

Can anyone tell me on a RED day, if you choose to have potato as a HEB or wholemeal pasta, what weight are you allowed?

We only have evening sessions around here and I haven't got child care, I cannot afford to pay £40 for 3 months to do it online, I'm having to do it all from (hazy) memory.

We have a book shop near us that is closing down and I got a SW free food and 30 minute meals cook book. There are some great recipes, I will post them later.

screamingskull · 03/02/2011 10:11

well done to you TBS Smile

i put on 1/2lb this week gutted. wrote everything down and measured the vodka lol.

ahh well need to get sorted for this week.

screamingskull · 03/02/2011 10:17

For RED DAY potato is 227g baking potato (including skin, raw weight OR 198g new potatoes with skin.

100g wholemeal pasta, boiled weight (35g dried wight)

kid · 03/02/2011 20:31

I went gym tonight, did just under 2 hour work out. I'm feeling the pain already so off for a lovely soak in the bath

DreamTeamGirl · 03/02/2011 21:41

Hey ballinderrymum, Well done on your 9lbs. Evenings are my hardest time too. Can you save your pudding to munch during the evening, or save an A & B choice and have ryvitas & laughing cow or something like that?

Brilliant on the gym kid - did you figure out how much you have lost?

Awesome TBS. You know even if you cant go regularly to a group, if you could get to just one you would have all the books and everything- would only cost about £10-£15 depending on if you could find a voucher, and you would be really well set up.

SSKull I had a wee gain too- gutted.

For me, well like I say I had a wee gain- 1lb- and was quite upset, BUT I am on plan, and feeling great. My hypnotherapy seems to be working still and I am now finishing my 4th absolutely 100% on plan day! Hurrah!!!!!!!

Unicornlover · 03/02/2011 21:48

I had weigh in this morning and have had a major gain. 4.5lb but my consultant says if I am pregnant it could be due to that. I'm getting most of the symptoms of pregnancy and am ttc so I am hoping that this is the case.

DreamTeamGirl · 03/02/2011 22:22

Oooh being pg would be FAB. When will you know????

kid · 03/02/2011 22:37

DreamTeamGirl, if I accept the horrendous weight my scales reckon I was, then I lost 8lb. I don't believe the original reading so I'm taking the minus 8lb weight as my starting weight.

I'm nor doing sw exactly, but am having heathy breakfast and lunch and a nice dinner Grin with gym at least 3x a week, I hope to lose weight and tone up. Time will tell if it's working.

Hoping you get some positive news soon Unicornlover x

agalchchangedhername · 04/02/2011 08:04

Lost 2.5lbs last night. 10.5 altogether so far and i got into my jeans this morning that i've not been in for ages Grin

Feeling uber motivated!!!

Unicornlover · 04/02/2011 18:24

DreamTeamGirl I should find out on monday hopefully although I might have to wait for a blood test. I'm pretty sure I am as had just about all the symptoms but the HPTs aren't working
