Welcome one and all - if you're following the new WW ProPoints plan then this is the thread for you!

Whether you need to lose a little or a lot you'll be right at home, we're friendly, supportive and we're all in the same boat!

androbb is our resident stats checker and helps to track what we've lost as a thread so far, nothing more motivating then seeing just how much weight is coming off.

Feel free to dive in and join us Grin

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to Lucky - aw I'm really chuffed and feeling very proud (daft I know!) - Well done for getting back on track, go you, woo-hoo! If i could hug you I would Grin Sounds like you're all sorted for your meal tonight too, fabby Grin Bum about you still being ill though, that's no fun at all :( Hopefully this latest batch of ABs will do the trick and you'll be feeling much better very soon!

rosie no, some of the time you have to search about and piece things together to work out the points. So look at what a curry sauce would be, then what the meat would be, what the rice etc would be then add 1 or 2 extra PPs for oil etc :)

rosieposey · 31/12/2010 14:11

Ah ok then :) will do

Littlefish · 31/12/2010 14:30

Welcome all newbies Smile

Lucky - lovely to hear you sounding so positive.

I've got friends coming round for dinner tonight, and have planned the most stupidly high pointed meal in the world. That was really silly, wasn't it!

Starter: Baked camembert (I'll be dipping celery in, rather than bread).

Main course: Venison sausages cooked in red wine, with mashed potatoes and veg.

Pudding: Chocolate truffle puddings.

Blush

I just wasn't thinking when I planned that lot, was I!

I've had zero point soup, and mushrooms on toast so far today to try and preserve as many points as possible. I haven't even started to factor in the wine yet. Sad

I suppose I'm just going to have to be extra good until Tuesday to try and stay the same.

vnmum · 31/12/2010 15:32

Hi everyone,

Good for you lucky on getting focused again. Shame about the exercise but hopefully this last lot of meds will sort you out and you'll be full steam ahead in no time.

DH has come back from the shops with your shape fitness for the kinect as he wanted to do it too so i may try and squeeze that in today as i haven't had time to do anything else exercise wise today. I am also planning on starting the 30 day shred on sunday. DH says i should start tomorrow and do it before we go to DB's for a buffet.

Has anyone got ideas for pointing up buffet food as i won't have any packaging to check? whats the best things to choose or how has anyone else worked points out? Usually the food consists of quiche, sandwiches, mini scotch eggs, sausage or cheese rolls etc. I don't want to use up stupid amounts of points but I also don't want to starve and then pig out on crap when i get home.

Anyway if I don't get on later this evening, Happy New Year Everyone!!

Littlefish · 31/12/2010 15:39

Stick to bread sticks, ham, crackers, salsa dip, veg sticks etc.

Go up to the buffet only once and put everything you're going to eat on your plate at once. The trouble with buffets is going up for a little bit at a time because you lose track of how much you've had, and tend to overeat.

Also, avoid peanuts at all cost!

NormaSknockers · 31/12/2010 15:42

That all sounds lovely Littlefish you're doing well by eating 0/low pointed foods to try and balance it out so don't worry too much :)

vnmum I would avoid anything with pastry on and try & fill up on things like salad, veggies for dipping, meats that kind of thing? Maybe have some quiche but don't eat the pastry crust that sort of thing, have a look at a few points values before you go to get an idea? 1 mini scotch egg for example is 4 PPs, mini sausage rolls are 2, 1/4 of a quiche Lorraine is 7 (ouch!)

OP posts:
vnmum · 31/12/2010 15:48

ok thanks Norma and Littlefish for the ideas. Last time we went for a buffet there actually wasn't much healthy options which was a surprise as SIL has got to goal with SW. It was mainly classic buffet foods. It's not that i don't like those foods, i do, but it's just not good for my weight loss Smile

NormaSknockers · 31/12/2010 15:55

Could you take some veggie sticks with you & some other low pointed snacks then just sneak them on your plate? What ever you do run away from Pringles, I was gobsmacked when I looked at the points value Shock Grin

MadameG · 31/12/2010 16:20

Norma- I'm doing asparagus, mushroom and pea risotto. Nom nom nom.

Lucky- well done for getting back on track!!!

Vnmum- buffets are so awkward! Sad Maybe you could try and find out what food will be on offer, find out the propoints of those items and then you'll know what to put on your plate so as to not go overboard?

I've got the munchies and there is a bag of Frazzles, a Gu pudding or a banana on offer. Obviously the banana is the one I should have but the Frazzles are calling me!

rosieposey · 31/12/2010 17:05

Sounds like some lovely food going on on here tonight. Anyone know how to access and use the weekly points on the iphone app. I have 12 left for today but i want to use 10-20 for tonight and a take away?

Lucky2010 · 31/12/2010 17:33

Still being good....thanks for the support, it helps! Haven't let a naughty morsel pass my lips today...promise. I even got some WW choc cakes, 2 pps each and rather yummy. Had one with a cuppa when a friend came over.

Thanks for the virtual hug Norma!!

Re Buffets - DH's family have a LOT of buffets (basically whenever it's someone birthday Hmm). Lots of pastry (bleurghh!) and there version of a salad is a chopped up iceburg lettuce Hmm and some slices of cucumber that all the kids have fingered Hmm. Try and stick to raw veg, no dips, bread sticks but not too many, avoid bread and pastry things. Cooked meats usually not a bad option either.

BigTillyMincepie · 31/12/2010 17:53

OMG!

Been away for 2 days and 2 pages on a new thread already!

Well, I tried my best whilst away, and probably just about kept within my points yesterday and not too bad so far today, but a party is now beckoning and I doubt my resolve will be so strong after a couple of glasses of fizz Blush

Definitely tracking again from tomorrow. hopefully I will have only gained a couple of pounds

NormaSknockers · 31/12/2010 17:59

Rosie you need to go into the menu, then select ProPoints Tracker and just enter the foods you've eaten. When you've used all your daily then as you add the extra foods it will automatically take them out of your weekly allowance.

Well done Lucky well and truly back on track Grin

Sounds like you've been doing well though Tilly though, don't worry too much about tonight Wink

Hi everyone, I'm new to mumsnet and new to here too. So here I find myself, heavier now than when I was at my heaviest whilst pregnant. I did all the hard work and lost all the baby weight (and a bit more besides) 5 years ago but have steadily been putting it all back on again:( . I'm doing the new pro plan ww online as i can't get to any meetings so its nice to find this thread for hopefully a bit of support and understanding.

Lucky2010 · 31/12/2010 19:38

Hello daschundfan...gosh you really are a newbie aren't you?! Welcome to MN and to WW and to our lovely thread Smile.

wizzler · 31/12/2010 20:01

Just waiting to get DDs birthday party out of the way on tuesday, then planning to go to WW meeting next week. Photo of myself looking like an elelphant seal on Xmas day is the final straw!

NormaSknockers · 01/01/2011 10:10

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE Grin

Here's to a new year and new us!

Morning all, HNY and all that jazz....

Ok ladies.....

LET'S DO THIS !!!!!!

Lucky2010 · 01/01/2011 10:17

I suppose I should 'fess up....

Home WI this morning, 10 st 5lbs (was 10 st 0.5 lbs just before bloody Christmas.

Body fat stayed pretty much the same on my monitor so hopefully all fluid.

That's a 4.5 lbs gain in 2 weeks. And I'm on.

Want to get back to where I was in 2 weeks.

Lucky2010 · 01/01/2011 10:18

Goal no. 2 to be under 10 stone and maintain it by the end of Jan.

NormaSknockers · 01/01/2011 10:22

That's not too bad when you look at it though Lucky 2lb of that could easily be water retention from your period, in fact even as much as 3lbs could be due to that!

OP posts:
NormaSknockers · 01/01/2011 10:27

Ok best set myself some goals!

Goal number 1 - to reach my 5% (12st 9lbs)

Goal number 2 - to get under 12st 7lbs

Goal number 2 - to reach my 10% (11st 13lbs)

Goal number 4 - to reach goal!

Happy NY everyone! Had a lovely evening at SIL's - she did some spring rolls and samosas and barjees (sp) and I reckon I consumed 20PP! It was the peanuts that did it!! Grin I need to go and buy some new weighing scales today - mine are digital and vary by 3 lbs each time you weigh - which is not ideal! They have little feet and two of them are broken due to the kids jumping on the scales!! Not very helpful to keep an eye on things.

Having a quiet day today - need to go and get DH a birthday present (for Friday)but havent got a clue what to get him. Got friends calling round soon before they go to the footie - will have their lunch here but are bringing their own butties - so that is easy! Just had breakfast as we didnt get home until 1.20am!!

Well done lucky on getting back on track - your goals are so acheivable for you. By the way is a name change not in order - yours is so last year!!Grin

Norma - liking the look for your goals too!

To all the newbies - welcome! Norma is our unofficial leader and cheif motivator - which is fantastic support to us all - and we try to support her too!

Lets make 2011 a great year!!
