NormaSknockers · 30/12/2010 10:18

Welcome one and all - if you're following the new WW ProPoints plan then this is the thread for you!

Whether you need to lose a little or a lot you'll be right at home, we're friendly, supportive and we're all in the same boat!

androbb is our resident stats checker and helps to track what we've lost as a thread so far, nothing more motivating then seeing just how much weight is coming off.

Feel free to dive in and join us Grin

Welcome rainbowinthesky. I don't do WW online, but I do all my tracking online.

NormaSknockers · 30/12/2010 16:58

Afternoon everyone,

Gosh 2 pages already - we are popular Grin

Welcome rainbow I have been following WW for about 5 years now, for a little under 2 years I had been doing WW from home, but when the PP plan was luanched in the meetings I started attending them again as I wanted to get all the information but also I find the support and encourgement from the meetings a real help. I managed to lose 36.5lbs at home and have lost another 9.5lbs since starting back at the meetings, another 23lbs to go!

My favourite foods are chocolate related Wink It's the amount that I have to focus on, as long as I don't go mad and eat an entire family cake in one go it's ok Grin

I've just baked a very yummy chocolate cake - best work out the points for that.....

I'm joining weightwatchers tonight on the monthly pass. Have never done propoints before so looking forward to finding out all about it at the meeting and will be making a shopping list and meal planning this evening.

collision · 30/12/2010 17:31

Tried to go to WW last night but the class was not on!!

Angry

so it means I can stuff eat more food until next Wednesday.

I am motivated but there is crap in the house that needs eating and DH is away and it is a BH weekend.

I want to get down to 10st 7lbs by August as we are going to Italy.

MY WW pal and I are going powerwalking on Sunday mornings for an hour to get us going and I will go to the gym.

Lucky2010 · 30/12/2010 17:33

Hiya......

I could lie and tell you all I have been tracking again and good today, but it would be a lie...Sad Blush. It's all gone to pot again today...started off well, grapefruit, bran flakes etc. Feeling a bit pants and DH at work for 13 hrs today. Girls have been really good and we've had a lovely chilled day at home making thank-you cards, but there is still a lot of choc in the house and I have been naughty!

I know it sounds ridiculous, but I am such an 'all or nothing' person, I feel already that there is no point in carrying on this week as not only have I blown it the last few days, but we have a nice meal planned for NYE (BSquash and roasted chestnuts with bacon and sage, not particularly bad, but not great either), we have friends coming for dinner Saturday and a meet up with friends at Pizza Express Sunday. My meeting is Monday, so I always start my WW week on a Monday. I know some of you will disagree with this, but I'm going to write off this week and start again properly Monday. I am confident I will be fine by then, new year and all that. I know that I will NOT go back to where I was, I didn't do all that hard work last year to put it all back on. I was within 1 lb of getting under 10 stone, I know I can do it. I just can't focus this week as I haven't tracked everything. Sorry for the nagative post ladies, I promise I will be back to my very motivational self next week Grin. It's also time of the month which is a challenging time for me appetite wise, so all in all, I have, regrettably, decided to write this week off. Sorry!!

vnmum I know what you mean about over-doing it with exercise. I do put a lot of pressur eon myself, and when I woke up with a sore throat today, my first thoughts were of sheer disappointment and not being able to exercise for a few more days. I have only done formal exercise twice in the last 3 weeks. I normally do 3-4 times a week. I am really missing it. I think I probably am a bit run down, but just from very busy life and time of year. I was exercising a lot before Christmas (up until 1st lot of tonsilitis) so maybe it's all catching up with me.

Planning to start Shred DVD once I feel better.

Welcome to all the new people. Ignore my crap attitude today, I am usually very focused!!! I have lost just over a stone since last August and just before Christmas was within 3 lbs of my goal (9st 12lbs).
I felt so amazing, I know I want to feel that again, so I WILL get back on track next week...I PROMISE!!!!!

NormaSknockers · 30/12/2010 20:33

Good evening all,

Welcome homeschooler well done on sighing up, first step taken Grin You'll love the new ProPoints plan, it does take a week or two to get into the swing of it but it's a really fab plan.

That's a bum about the meeting collision, re the crap food can you freeze it, or give it away/chuck it out to stop you eating it?

Oh Lucky what a shame, you were so geared up this morning. Never mind, it can be hard to get back on the wagon once you've gotten off - you know I'm not going to agree with you holding off getting back on as I think it can make it harder as for me I always end up going down the 'oh, one more day won't hurt' path and then before I know it, it's been weeks. That said obviously no-one can force you back on track and if you're not ready then it won't work as you'll just feel miserable. That said, if you can get back on then brilliant, but if you can't maybe try and limit it a little, up the exercise or something? Try and focus on how you;ve felt seeing the weight come off, knowing how close you're getting to goal, how great you feel in those skinny jeans Wink

Well I donned my running shoes tonight and went for my first run in 7 months - I was surprised with how far I managed to get considering it's been so long so I was chuffed, fingers crossed it will all help!

Food wise been an ok day;

WW cereal bar - 2 PPs

Cucumber and pepper sticks - 0 PPs

WW bagel with tom puree and low fat cheese - 6 PPs
WW BBQ crisps - 2 PPs
2 segments of chocolate orange - 2 PPs

Mustard chicken and bacon with mash - 12 PPs

Small slice of choclate cake - 6 PPs
3 segments of chocolate orange - 3 PPs

Used 3 of me weekly and earned 4 activity points Grin

Going to make the WW chorizo lasagne for dinner tomorrow night as it was so yummy last time!

Flipping heck, you've all been talking a lot today! Will catch up properly on computer tomorrow. Went to WI and lost 1.5lbs and felt really embarrassed as everyone else was putting on. TOTM so eating a Wispa as have very very bad chocolate craving. Not the healthiest eating I could have done and have used 4 weekly points, but that's fine.

NormaSknockers · 30/12/2010 21:15

Wynken why did you feel embarrassed that's brilliant well done on a fab loss, I wouldn't be feeling embarrassed I'd be thrilled Grin Nothing wrong with using your weekly points, that's what they're there for, enjoy Grin

OP posts:
WynkenBlynkenandNod · 30/12/2010 21:22

Thank you Norma, I was thrilled but everyone looked at me like I was a saddo with no life in the nicest possible way. I found myself saying 'but I ate half a Christmas pudding and 4 mince pies'. Am clearly a bit hormonal today!

NormaSknockers · 30/12/2010 21:25

They were just jealous that they hadn't done as well as you Grin

OP posts:
Bookswapper · 30/12/2010 21:34

hello everyone can I join you? I have lost 2 stone with WW since end August and have another 3 to go. Am finding propoints quite tough (am veggie) but I love the free fruit! But Christmas has been a disaster, 4 pounds on in a week!
Have been back on propointing since tuesday, only have 14 of my 49 points left! Need support and inspiration!

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 30/12/2010 21:42

Hi Bookswapper, great loss, well done! I was thinking the other day that PP could be harder for veggies. DH is but I've been eating more with the DC's. That's something I'm going to start soon, do more meals we can both eat.

I managed to stop myself telling them they should have tried WW's PP instead of SW Norma !

The new magazine is out today so am curling up with my copy which will hopefully divert further choc cravings.

NormaSknockers · 30/12/2010 21:51

Hello and welcome Book well done on your fab loss so far, brilliant Grin Try not to worry about Christmas, we all slip up and Christmas is a hard time so don't be too hard on yourself.

I just succumbed to 4 segments of a chocolate orange and 3 chocolate biscuits - thank goodness for my weekly points and my earlier run Grin

Lucky2010 · 30/12/2010 21:53

Thanks Norma, I hear what you're saying, I really do, but I know I will be fine by Monday. It's my all or nothing personality. I know I'm being crao this week, but it will make me even more determined next week. I wasn't going to go to a WI for a couple of weeks to give myself chance to lose my Christmas lbs, BUT I am going to go on Mon or Tues, shame myself into a WI where I will have probably gained about 6 lbs Shock and I know that that will really motivate me to lose for the following week.

Wynken I am very very impressed that you managed to lose over Christmas!! Massive well done, that is just amazing....well done you! I am very very impressed. And just a little bit Envy of your will power!

Lucky2010 · 30/12/2010 21:54

crap not crao.....Hmm

androbbob · 30/12/2010 21:59

Evening all and welcome to the newbies - stick around the support here is great! It doesnt matter if you post hourly, daily or weekly it all helps and it is great to hear of god recipes to try and menu ideas!

I sat and looked through the My Week booklets and the last WW magazine and found four recipes to try. One of my NY resolutions is to try to cook a new dish once a fortnight. I tend to cook and eat the same things and it gets boring! My ham which was in the slow cooker all day was delicious - moist and almost melted in the mouth. The bonus is there is half the piece left for tomorrow and another three pieces in the freezer! Sunday Lunch for the whole of January I think.

Tomorrow we are off for a walk in the woods and then lunch at my Mums - I can rely on her providing me with a bowl of salad and meat. I have some left over stir fry veg which I will have for tea. We are going to SIL for the evening and she will put out nibbles - I am driving so I can see the rest of my weekly points going on the nibbles! Been to the gym today as well this evening so feeling great!!

Was thinking of my mini targets for the year weight wise while I was pounding away in the gym - my next diabetic appt with the nurse is mid Jan and I would like to lose 5lbs before that - three weeks so should be doable. My next target is to be in the next stone down bracket before my friends birthday party in early Feb. That is 7lbs down from where I am now and completly acheivable. Will then plan the next ones once I have acheieved those! Anyone else got a goal to focus on?

Have entered Wynkens weight loss on the spreadsheet and added the new names to the list! To remind - Norma has offered an incentive to the first to lose 7lbs (of the less to lose gang) and the first to lose a stone of the rest - lets see who wins!!

Littlefish · 30/12/2010 22:03

Good idea about mini goals.

I've got 3lbs to lose to get to my 10%

I've got 3.5 lbs to lose to get to my first 2 stone loss.

I've got 13 lbs to lose to get down into the next stone bracket.

Those are my first 3 targets.

NormaSknockers · 30/12/2010 22:05

I know what you're saying Lucky just be careful not to put getting back on track off though by the sounds of it you won't and good on you for going to the meeting still 0 the gain might not be as bad as you think Wink

Well done androbb lots of gym work and planning mini goals, sounds like you're well and truly focused go you! They sound like very acheivable goals too which always helps when you know they're within you reach!

OP posts:
Lucky2010 · 30/12/2010 22:16

Norma I wouldn't be on this thread all the time if I wasn't serious about continuing!! I appreciate your concern but you don't need to worry about me not getting back on track. I know I will be fine on Monday. Although I must admit, hearing you all saying how good you've been is making me feel really rubbish and a little bit ashamed!!!

I have just put the rest of the Galaxy selection pack DH bought me for Christmas in my work bag to take into work next week, as I'm not planning to eat it now. I will let the girls at work have it. And when I say the rest of, I only ate 2 pieces out of 7 in the box, so most of it. Haven't told DH as don't want to hurt his feelings!

I am also going to go out tomorrow and buy the latest WW magazine. I don't normally buy it cos I normally have good motivation and will power but it will give me that extra boost.

androbbob and littlefish Good goals you have there. Achievable. Nice. Well done Grin.

NormaSknockers · 30/12/2010 22:22

I didn't say you're not serious about continuing Lucky I know you are, I know how hard you've worked and how great you feel. I only meant I know how hard it can be to get back on track but that you sounded determined so not too worry and that the gain might not be nearly as bad as you think. I'm sorry if you thought I meant anything other then that and I certainly didn't mean to make you feel ashamed and rubbish - no-one would be trying to do that. There's no reason to feel like that, it's a bloody hard time of year with all the treats about. I've just eaten 3 biscuits and 4 segments of chocolate orange so not exactly a healthy choice!

Love the mini goals littlefish I must look up my 5 & 10% as I'm not 100% sure what they are Blush

OP posts:
Lucky2010 · 30/12/2010 22:36

Oh Norma, I really didn't mean it to sound like that!! I know you would never think those things. As I re-read my post I realised it sounded like I had the hump a bit....not at all....I didn't think you thought that (!!). I was just reassuring you oh great leader not to worry and that I will be OK next week Grin. Also, you did not make me feel rubbish, I made myself feel rubbish. Please don't worry, you didn't offend me at all. Sorry if my post came across that you did. That's the trouble with text...no inflection, so you didn't realise I wasn't being arsey....oh blimey!!

NormaSknockers · 30/12/2010 22:39

Oh thank f*ck for that, I was really worried I'd upset you then - phew! Grin

Funnily enough I just said the same to someone else bout the text and how it can be misconstrued Grin

OP posts:
Lucky2010 · 30/12/2010 22:43

Grin.

I've been trying to put some photos on my profile (before and after) but it's not working?? Anyone else managed it recently? Don't know if it's cos I have a digital SLR so the files are quite big??

Will try again now...

NormaSknockers · 30/12/2010 22:46

I haven't tried recently but it was working a few days ago, it should reduce the files for you I think?
