Welcome one and all - if you're following the new WW ProPoints plan then this is the thread for you!

Whether you need to lose a little or a lot you'll be right at home, we're friendly, supportive and we're all in the same boat!

androbb is our resident stats checker and helps to track what we've lost as a thread so far, nothing more motivating then seeing just how much weight is coming off.

Feel free to dive in and join us Grin

Well done on the weight loss wynken! Impressive!!

I can see where you are coming from Lucky. I propointed today but come this evening I thought 'sod it, i'm going to have what I fancy' - largely because it is New Years Eve tomorrow and I have several friends around for dinner and I am not going to hold back on wine. Similarly on New Year's Day I have another load of friends over for a group buffet (we all pool together our left over Christmas food)...so am thinking, what is the point until all that is over? Bit like you - am a bit all or nothing over it.

My 'D Day' will be Sunday January 2 - I then have a clear run at it with no series of social, food based occasions to upset the apple cart.

Ran another 3 miles today (did the same yesterday and the day prior) so that is half the battle, and am looking forward to getting back on the straight and narrow by Sunday.

hmc · 30/12/2010 23:44

Collision - just seen that you are battling the seasonal munchies too!

collision · 30/12/2010 23:49

hmc - I am embarrassed to even say what I have eaten tonight but it was masses!

including all the cheese

and biscuits

and a Crunchie!!

hmc · 30/12/2010 23:58

Collision - likewise, I've done cheese, biscuits and port again in a repetition of last night, despite saying I wouldn't Shock

It will all come good when we go back to weigh in at our weekly classes and the trials and tribulations of the festive seasons excesses are over! I truly believe tthat

collision · 31/12/2010 00:02

I truly believe it too Grin

and when WW bring the PP food onto the shelves in Jan I wont need to keep calculating everything!!

hmc · 31/12/2010 00:05

We'll be okay won't we? (yes we will, yes we will - she repeats like an inner mantra, with a hint of desperation Grin)

collision · 31/12/2010 00:26

weeps.............I hope so.........

MadameG · 31/12/2010 10:24

How are we all doing today? I went 2 propoints over yesterday but they come out of my weekly bonus ones. Today I've just had cereal so far and am planning a salad lunch and risotto for dinner.

I'm v pleased that most of the xmas chocolate has been eaten in our house as it was a major distraction, and there is only 1 Gu pudding left in the fridge that I'm not too keen on anyway.

Wishing you all a happy new year!

NormaSknockers · 31/12/2010 10:35

Good morning everyone, good evenings?

Well done on the running hmc that was a good distance, you put me to shame Grin

Don't worry collision it's near impossible to stay on track when you have all that lovely food sitting about the house! The only reason I'm not scoffing everything is because we haven't got anything - well that's not true, there is DHs lovely biscuits of which I scoffed 3 last night Blush

You'll both be fine, I think it can be hard to stay in the mindset wheny ou don't have your meetings to focus on IYKWIM? Once the meetings start back up again I really think it'll be easier to get on track Grin I like your thinking about the PP food too collision I went into Tesco on Tuesday and they had WW bagels with the PP value on so I bought a pack even though I didn't need them!

No problem using your weekly points MadameG that's what they're there for, very handy to have them to fall back on Grin What risotto are you making for dinner?

rosieposey · 31/12/2010 11:32

Hello everyone :) can I join you all? Am itching to get started on ww but no meetings till Tuesday here. I've already started unofficially and am just searching online for pro points values (easier said than done as it's so new) but I'm just coming out of having swine flu (day 5) so got a half stone unwelcome boost to my journey which I wasn't intending to start till next week - half a stone off though so better now than never!

A question though if anyone can help me? I'm really craving an egg muffin for lunch and wondered if any one knew the pro points for a white muffin at all? I've guessed around 4 or 5 but I'm not sure.

I'm hoping to lose about 6 stone in all but going for about 5 this year which I think might be do-able, I don't know what my pro points will be but I'm guessing around 34ish for 16 stone Blush I am at least a bit lighter than a week ago though which is a novelty for me at this time of year although I wouldnt recommend this method.

mrsmeadweed · 31/12/2010 11:52

Hi, can I sign up too? I need to lose about 4 or 5 stones. I had a go at the pro points before Christmas and managed to lose 8lbs in 3 weeks.
However I managed to sprain my ankle just before Christmas, so the immobility, along with the over indulgence means I've probably put it all back on.

NormaSknockers · 31/12/2010 12:18

Welcome rosie and mrsm to the thread, you'll find lots of support here Grin

Well done on your loses so far, don't worry too much about the Christmas indulgence happens to all of us, all my plans for a tracking Christmas went out the window Wink

rosie one medium white muffin is 4 PPs so good guess Grin

Just before I eBay them does anyone on here want/need to buy the new PP Shop book & calculator? With having both esource and the iPhone app I really don't need them so going to sell them :)

OP posts:
rosieposey · 31/12/2010 12:35

Thanks for the welcome, Hmm would normally snap your fingers off for them Norma but I have a feeling I'll be signing up for e source too and getting the app after joining on tues :) good luck on ebay- that'll be gone in no time!

Mrsmeadweed hello :) well done on the 8 lbs - don't worry if you've put a bit back on it's still officially scoffing season and next week is when most people are getting going again I think.

Can I join and get all the info I need online (like pro points basics values and a pro point calculator ect) or do I have to wait till tues to get all the info and then do it online? I'm a bit confused between e source and weight watchers online?

NormaSknockers · 31/12/2010 12:47

Joining online is your best and cheapest option, you need to sign up for the monthly pass as this gets you into the meetings as well as giving you full access to the WW site which means you can use the online tracker, food finder, recipes, forums, weight tracker etc etc Grin

OP posts:
rosieposey · 31/12/2010 13:02

Ok so to be clear ( swine flu fuddled brain) I need to join online AND sign up for monthly pass right? I'm happy to do this from home from today as my start weight (weighing with nowt on is better than this winter layers I would have to wear to class ;)) and I would never need to go to class as I would get an app for calculations ect yes? What about eating out info is that on the site too? Thanks for the info and help Norma :)

NormaSknockers · 31/12/2010 13:12

You can get the monthly pass online, you just follow the steps it tells you too. You'll be able to print off a temporary pass to get you into the meetings then each month WW will debit your account via a direct debit and send you another monthly pass. You use the pass to get into the meetings and by signing up online you get access to the entire WW site :)

If you don't want to attend the mettings then don't bother getting the monthly pass just sign up online and you weigh yourself at home. You only need to buy the monthly pass if you want to attend meetings too.

Yes, eating out info is all on the website, you would just type in Pizza Express into the search option for example :)

Lorelai · 31/12/2010 13:29

Hi all, can I join? I have done WW on and off for years, am going to be starting back week after next (have to wait until 6 weeks after giving birth). Someone mentioned above that the pro points plannus harder for veggies; why is this? Also, an iPhone app was mentioned; is it good?

NormaSknockers · 31/12/2010 13:36

Welcome Lorelai, lots of newbies today - love it Grin

I think it can be harder as fruit and veg is now 0 PPs in most cases so being a veggie it can be harder to eat your full daily points allowance I think. The iPhone app is brilliant, basically has everything you need on a day to day basis. Best app ever, and what's more it's free!

OP posts:
rosieposey · 31/12/2010 13:36

Ok I've done it, all joined up for 12 weeks - hi Lorelai, vie just downloaded the app just now, I'll let you know.

NormaSknockers · 31/12/2010 13:38

Well done on joining up rosie Grin

OP posts:
Lorelai · 31/12/2010 13:39

Free? Brilliant!

I never have a problem eating all my points, so am sure I will be fine, even with my extra bfing points :)

Lucky2010 · 31/12/2010 13:52

Just reporting in to the lovely Norma to proudly say I have woken up in a much better frame of mind, and so far have been really good today!! Grin. Bran flakes for breakie, a grapefruit mid-morning and an omlette packed with free veg for lunch.

I worked out pps for my meal tonight, which I thought would be loads, as assumed chestnuts, being, erm, nuts, would be lots of fat, but when I pointed the vacuum pack of them Blush, only 4pps per 100g!!!! 1.1g of fat per 100g...who knew?!! Bacon 4 pps and Bsquash and sage free, so only about 12 pps, including oil. Well chuffed. Gonna have some wine but not much tbh as still feeling rough. Went back to GP today, now diagnosed with Pharyngitis, got yet another course of anti-biotics and a weeks course of a steroid, which I'm not too keen to take. Pharmacist said it might make me feel bloated, to which 3 other people including myself burst out laughing....."aren't we all dear at this time of year!" a little old lady called out!!

Still just pissed off I can't exercise Sad.

Welcome to all the new people. Great to have some newbies, and it is a wonderful thread....it turned me around from yesterday to today (thanks all of you).

Bought the new WW magazine too, to browse later and get recipe ideas.

Happy New Year all of you.

Lucky XX

rosieposey · 31/12/2010 13:52

Hmm there are no generic takeaway values that I can find. Will need to spend my 49 points extra on something per week but I can't find anything for curries? Oooohhh lucky you Lorelai - extra bf points :)
