Here is the new thread for us to achieve success in Xmas Smile

Old thread is here

I'll change my name to my "Christmas" one after Saturday: I'm helping to organise the Scottish Mumsnet Christmas meet-up and it might confuse things if I change my name.

Just been for my next run, I had to wear gloves because last time my hands were ffrreeezzziiinnng. But it was fine and the best bit is it makes me feel so virtuous!

Lollypop - well done on your resistance but why not just ditch the sweets?

Blondes - that's the Daily Mail you've got there - you shouldn't expect accuracy!

As an outsider, these new WW points seems confusing, different points, yet the food remains the same?

Trimmer - did you get out for your run?

GettinTrimmer · 08/01/2011 19:00

Blondes - the good thing about the new wwpp is exercise points can be used points for points, no having to stick to 13 exercise points per week. It will be interesting to see how it works for you, as you know I abandoned it but still have the stuff if I want to return to it.

Pleased with myself, we've just had tea and I've managed to stick to 1600 calories today Smile I will find it difficult when the munchies set in this evening but tomatoes and cucumber for that.

Piste - I didn't go for my run Blush, ran out of time as ds and I went to ukulele lesson. I need an arse kick!

too long for ds (2 hours) so we left after an hour, but learnt 2 cords! Ds enjoyed himself for a while but is knackered with not dropping off to sleep early.

There were ukuleles for sale so I bought one (they are only £20) - I've alread been on utube trying out a kids song ("there ain't no bugs on me!)" I need to limber my fingers and wrists up.

Murtette - the way they calculate points is a closely guarded secret Hmm but it's all to do apparently with the way your body processes the calories.

Lolli - I know how tough it is avoiding these chocolates, dh has hidden our left overs from xmas. Also have a big tub of nuts somewhere, luckily I don't know where they are!

prettybirdinapeartree · 08/01/2011 19:28

Not had much chance to come on-line and haven't yet fully caught up with all the many posts since I was last on, but I'll post my wegh-in from yesterday. I'm not yet full "in the zone" - but am getting there - and managed to register a one pound loss since my hogmanay weigh-in.

Unlike Piste, I have not yet managed to get back under 12 stone :( but at least without really trying I have lost a pound :) I also did the Shred yesterday :)

So, overall the damage from the festive period was 3 pounds. Not too bad Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/01/2011 23:09

went for a yummy indian and ate

chicken murgh bemisal
1/2 coconut rice
garlic naan

i stayed away from my usual creamy passandra and chose what i hope is healthier - it was tomato and onion sauce

prob ate all of my 49pp - tho i have 17 left from today as pratically starved myself and only had weetabix and ham sandwich and TONS of fruit

lolli - well done

smokin - ww pp seems the same as sw now tbh - well done on stepping for 25mins

piste - well done for running

trimmer - not surprised you abandoned it - it really fries my brain, but i shall give it a month and see what happens ........ i never counted/include my exercise points anyway

murtette- seem everyone i know is on 29pp, which is weird as all diff shapes and sizes Hmm the only ones higher are either men or bf

pretty - a fab gain iyswim - trimmer and i managed 7 lbs Blush im also back in the 11 stone bracket (just)

bebe - skim milk is 1pp per 1/4pint so would be 1pp soup - must go and make some

laughalot · 09/01/2011 11:56

Hi everyone well my healthy eating kicks in tomorrow, we went on our xmas party last night yes xmas party one of the girls who I work with her dh died just before xmas so we changed it for the new year so we pigged out last night Grin.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/01/2011 12:29

how awful for your friend :( but hope party went well and start dieting tomorrow

laughalot · 09/01/2011 18:21

It was awful blondes he was only 40 and was out jogging with the kids and just collapsed and died Sad. The worst thing is this is the second one in the space of a year and they both died of the same thing and under the same circumstances very sad and very strange.

GettinTrimmer · 09/01/2011 18:40

So sorry to hear that Laughalot Sad So sad, hope your friend has plenty of support.

Well, I have not resisted temptation Blush Blush

I do so well yesterday. Today ds reminded me about the Thornton's dipping chocolate (it would buy 2 get one free) and I have eaten marshmallows, coconut squares and fudge dipped in chocolate.

Before that I had 2 digestives and a jaffa cake.

I am hoping that is the last of the xmas food left over, everything else is eaten or hidden. I could kick myself.

smokinaces · 09/01/2011 19:29

thats so sad laughalot, so sudden Sad

what plan you starting tomorrow?

GettinTrimmer - today is just 1 day. Tomorrow is a new start. Everyone deserves a day off every now and then, just wake up tomorrow and put it behind you.

I had a great time last night, but drunk too much of the soft drinks and got bad gas in my tummy! Resisted all the food, and have been really good today too. Went for a walk for a paper, and decided to go to the shop down the hill, was a 3 mile round trip. Fab apart from my bloody trainers rubbed and now my ankles both have sodding blisters. Am in my gym kit ready to bike it in a second whilst watching the last hour of DOI.

First weigh in tomorrow. Eek.

Smalline · 09/01/2011 19:29

Hi everyone, I'm still not in the zone as yet, hoping to be back starting from tomorrow. Yesterday was DD's birthday so more cakes, chocolates etc. were consumed, anything left after today will be given to my neighboursSmile.

Welcome Lollipop, I'm sure we have met before on your Gym attendance thread a couple of years ago.

1lb on last weekSad. Hope to go back in the right direction this week!

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/01/2011 22:12

Hmmm my SB cost me 8pp

Have come to the conclusion that if I have soup for one meal I can have a nice meal for the other

Night nannying for next few nights. 7mths and in bad habits of sleeping in mums bed and bottles in night and screaming and not sleeping

Went to sleep eventually and then woke up after 30mins sleep. Lots of stroking and yelling from
Him but finally asleep again

Training a young baby to sleep is easy but re training an older baby out of bad habits is harder

Def will earn my money but lovely parents and dc cute :)

bebejones · 09/01/2011 22:40

Blondes - it's stories like that that make me glad DD has never slept in our bed! And will never! I need sleeeeeeeeeeeeeep! Wink

Have been very virtuous today! :o Yoghurt & OJ for brekkie. Toast with peanut butter, an apple & 2 rice cakes for lunch & veggie soup, a bread roll & a banana for dinner. Thought the menu ideas in the WW supplement with the Mail were quite good. Will try & pick up the next one 2moro. Will report back!

Also wanted to say, Laughalot, how horrid for your poor friend. So sad :(

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/01/2011 23:25

It may make your life easier that night to give a extra bottle or take into own bed but doesn't in the long run - just causes more hassle

The lovely mum said she hasn't had a decent nights sleep in nearly 3yrs :(

Have just given a dream feed and HOPING he will sleep till 6/7pm but sure he won't lol

Within points today :) but tummy rumbling :(

RatherBeOnThePiste · 10/01/2011 07:09

Bebe - I had a dream about you last night!! I dreamt that I came to stay with you, and you were changing the sheets. You had quite random duvet covers and a Scottie dog!!! Hmm

Hello other Slinkies. Maybe I'll come and stay with one of you tonight?! No one to take offence that I went to stay with Bebe first!

Sorry Laughalot to hear your sad and tragic news. Scary.

bebejones · 10/01/2011 08:24

By random, do you mean that they didn't match, coz that quite often does happen Blush Don't have a scottie dog, but do have 2 very irritating cats!!

Isn't it funny how your mind creates these images! :)

Will try & be good today, but am meeting my friend for coffee & cakes (well not coffee for me coz I don't like it!!)

GettinTrimmer · 10/01/2011 10:08

that sounds good Bebe.

That's interesting piste I can never understand my dreams!

Blondes, hope you can help with the baby getting into a sleep pattern. I was a stickler with babies and had a routine very early on, and always put them down awake.

Smokin - Thank you, that's helped me get some perspective.

I'm not allowing myself on here for the rest of the day as I have an application form to do online. Have a good day all.

GettinTrimmer · 10/01/2011 10:11

Smalline, still a bit difficult to focus atm, but that 1lb will soon come off.

laughalot · 10/01/2011 11:28

Right I have had some special k for brekkie and a bannana and a boiled egg for my lunch not sure what im going to do for dinner yet.

My weigh in this morning makes me 13.4 so does someone mind altering me on the list please because I cant Grin.

Im not really following any plan just cutting down as I did before and eating healthy.

Good luck girlies

Murtette · 10/01/2011 13:19

I'm so cross with myself as I made my porridge with ff milk this morning and must have added sk milk to DD's weetabix. The porridge was delicious but it must have used up a million and one points.

1lb off here which I'm quite pleased with as I didn't really get into the zone until about Wednesday.

Laughalot - your poor friend. Its such a tough time of year to lose a relative.

(Murtette creeps off before joining any discussion about sleep...)

Murtette · 10/01/2011 13:34

Just checked and ff milk is only 2pp more than sk milk so that's cheered me up.

It was this sort of thing you had on your duvet covers, only they were dark blue, and they weren't your DD's - they were yours and your DH!

There is nothing wrong with me. Hmm

GT - I can interpret dreams, and this one means that Bebe is going to win the lottery Grin

Am zoning...

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/01/2011 14:28

grrr wrote out huge reply and lappy crashed

baby slept 6hrs last night, awake 3-5 but finally fell asleep by his self :)

im still struggling with 29pp a day and eating tons of fruit so cant lose weight

had spag bol for lunch and was 10pp Shock and pasta was only 60g and tiny :(

i need more protein not carbs

bebejones · 10/01/2011 15:02

Piste - You mean that sort of thing isn't normal!? Wink Grin Wink If I only I was going to win the lottery

Blondes - I got the 2nd part of the supplement today, things it suggests for lunches (8pp) are:
-Ham Salad Roll
-Leek & Potato soup with lf creme fraiche & a crusty roll with lf spread
-Ham & Cheese tortilla wrap with lettuce & tomato
-Broccoli & Stilton soup with medium sized crusty roll
-Gnocci with Tomatoes & Olives
-Tuna Rice Salad
-Baked potato with tuna & sweetcorn

All looked quite good to me, although I am no expert & I don't know how the points are calculated! Did you get the supplement today? The woman doing the 'diary' looks bigger than the pic in the first one! Confused

Having spicy vegetable soup for dinner, while DH & DD are having chicken fajitas! Envy

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/01/2011 15:09

2nd part is out today - bugger - is that where it must be only brought from tesco?

not one near me - or will any newsagent stock it?
