Here is the new thread for us to achieve success in Xmas Smile

Old thread is here

I'll change my name to my "Christmas" one after Saturday: I'm helping to organise the Scottish Mumsnet Christmas meet-up and it might confuse things if I change my name.

Just did 3 miles on the exercise bike whilst catching up on Greys, celebrating with a pear and glass of squash Grin Add to this the 15minutes this morning on the stepper and I've exceeded my exercise target for the day. Have eaten really well too, so am really crossing my fingers for a loss Monday when I weigh in.

Have a surprise party Saturday evening. Now need to decide whether to drink or not. Drinking could mean smoking and eating. Not drinking could mean an early swim Sunday morning and not blowing the diet.

This early on I think I'll go for the diet coke option. I can have 1 or 2 small wine spritzers and stick in the limit and still drive after all.

smokinaces · 06/01/2011 20:11

ratherbeonthepiste - I would love to run again. I miss running. But my knees are way too screwed for anything high impact now Sad

will be cheering you on though Grin

How did your dodgy ankle get on?

You must feel virtuous though. I certainly do, back on my bike and trotting round my neighbourhood.

< Halo glows brightly>

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/01/2011 22:48

Ankle wasn't too bad but does ache now bit so does every other part of me lol

Smoking enjoy Yr party and remind me again what diet you are doing?

Very bleary eyed this morning (couldn't focus on the scales), but it looks as if I have lost 0.5 to 3/4 of a 1lb, not quite 1lb, but for my morale I am putting down 1lb loss. Mince pies and cake have gone now so I have no distractions.

Blondes, very well done Smile Enjoy your pamper day, massage/manicure/sauna?

Piste - thanks for the link, I've not been running for a while but I really SHOULD!! You're right I could get up to 5K again without too much of a problem.

How did your ds settle last night?

Smokin - good luck for your weigh in on monday and enjoy your party.

Bebe - I was thinking, since reaching your goal you've done amazingly keeping it off Smile That's what I have to crack, I did OK till the summer then just gained again. I have to do it again as I felt great.

bebejones · 07/01/2011 09:26

I have sts! :( But haven't really tried and had a bit of a manic week! Will be better now the bad stuff is pretty much gone!

Back on soups, although DH is banging on about having a chinese tonight! Hmm

Really need to start on the walking again/exercise, but bloody hip is still painful!

Well done Blondes on a fabulous loss!
Well done to Trimmer & Piste too! :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 07/01/2011 15:47

Well done Blondes, Trim and Bebe - all good losses ( go to the top of the class Mrs B ) and sts.

I am quite liking the running at the moment, but please can someone remind me of that when it gets tougher! I am also glad to be back on my bike although it has been wet the last two days.

Thank you GT - DS went to bed as per normal last night, and they go back to school on Monday, so all routines are returning. Suddenly remembered this afternoon I had to retrieve the blazers from the dry cleaners! DH back on Wednesday night which will a good thing all round. We get hardier to his absences, but this one after Christmas is always very sad for both DC, I am just resigned to it!

Am still zoning!

smokinaces · 07/01/2011 17:31

Well done on all your loses and staying the same! I dont weigh in until Monday morning. Eeek.

I'm not doing a specific diet, just eating low fat and sensibly. Today has been good. Two weetabix for breakfast, a banana, fruit and a sandwich for lunch, jacket potato and veg with tuna for tea and a yogurt. Also did 10 minutes on the stepper before the school run, so only 20 mins to do tonight to hit my target exercise. Might bike it, might use the stepper.

Am aiming for 2lb a week, but really hoping for 3-4 this first few weeks.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2011 17:32

'beams' i really happy with that result :)

though not so happy with my food earlier :(

i ate at harvester today, thought had the good healthy choice, have just read my book and simply chicken is 15pp - thats OVER half my daily points :(

i dont understand how or why - a jacket is 8 and chicken 4 so thats 12 - so why is it 15?

the massage and spa was lovely :)

well done bebe for sts

smokinaces · 07/01/2011 17:36

thats weird Blondes. I was counting on harvester for family meals as thought a jacket and simple chicken would be healthy, but there must be something weird on it for it to come out that high?

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2011 17:39

exactly smoking Hmm

i chose what i thought was a good low fat option, i didnt have butter and chicken was grilled not friend or in breadcrumbs :(

LollipopViolet · 07/01/2011 17:46

I've had a shocking day yesterday :( Forgot to weigh myself today as well.

Stupid KFC has probably sent my weight up again. All I've eaten today is crackers, and I'm having home made spag bol in a bit. Tomorrow, the detox proper starts.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2011 21:29

Weight tomorrow lolli - sure kfc hasn't done much damage

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/01/2011 09:01

i ache so much from thursday :( its amazing how much ones body can un used to something :(

but no pain, no gain - so off to battle body combat again

i used to do this class 3 times a week no problem

'sighs'

hows everyone else?

i feel im waffling to myself :(

'is anyone out there?'

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/01/2011 09:14

good luck with your class Blondes. I'm sure you will get back into it again. It must feel good to be able to go as well after all that time. I have a run to do later, but will have to wait until it is dark!!

It's a quiet day here, rowing for DD later and swimming club restarts this evening. But other than that nothing really. I need to check DC didn't get any homework that they've forgotton about.

So, are you for tea or coffee ? I could put DHs big machine on but you'd have to wait until I could work it out. It's like an aptitude test!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/01/2011 09:25

why run in the dark?

tea please :)

db has this mega posh coffee machine - havnt a clue how it works but then i dont drink coffee

right here goes .......

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/01/2011 09:41

Lol. Have to run in the dark so no one can see me
Grin

smokinaces · 08/01/2011 09:59

Good luck Blondes! In a couple of weeks you'll be used to it again Grin

Have started the day with 2 weetabix and a cup of tea again. Will attempt some exercise later, but the kids are here all day and I'm out tonight which makes it a bit harder. Am really hoping for a 4-5lb loss this week being the first week, am so nervous that nothing is going to come off and I will throw in the towel Monday.

Grin at running in the dark
