Here is the new thread for us to achieve success in Xmas Smile

Old thread is here

I'll change my name to my "Christmas" one after Saturday: I'm helping to organise the Scottish Mumsnet Christmas meet-up and it might confuse things if I change my name.

Back on my bike tomorrow..

I last rode it on about 16th December!!

Hopefully Blondes, it will be a positive experience when you go back to the gym tomoz, but maybe you could talk to someone there about a sort of rehabilitation programme, explain your injury and see what they recommend to strengthen the ankle. You must take care not to antagonise the old injury, because that wouldn't be clever (understatement)

Am zoning....

LollipopViolet · 05/01/2011 20:10

Hi everyone!

I have had the day from hell. I somehow, while copying things over on my laptop, deleted my entire edit of my film. Spent from half 11 til 5 sat at the laptop capturing footage again and re-doing it. Not happy.

That said, I've not done badly on the food front, bar the bacon and egg sandwich. I must try and get hold of that WW bacon again, was really nice... So is Friday weigh in day? Eeek.

Oooh, and I've decided, I want to try making my own smoothies. What do I need to start??

Murtette · 05/01/2011 20:11

After I posted last night, things went downhill a bit as I had a slice of DP's choc orange and then decided I couldn't go to bed without my hot chocolate. I must remember to make sure I have enough points for a hot choc at the end of each day!

Today hasn't been great as I went to a friends for lunch and had thai green chicken soup which must have had a lot of coconut milk and we had her homemade bread with that and then we had crumble and custard for dessert. At least the custard was lf! Anyway, I came home and pointed it and had about 6 points left for the rest of the day so I think DP is going to be a bit surprised when he sees his chicken casserole later on as there's a miniscule amount of chicken and masses of carrot, mushroom, leek, celery and sweetcorn and we're having it with sprouts and broccoli!

DD has her first settling in session at nursery tomorrow. I think she's going to love it and I'm certainly looking forward to having a break from her going back to work but it has felt strange today knowing that its my last day as a SAHM. It has been fantastic to have spent so much time with her.

Blondes - I'm so pleased that you're able to go back to the gym. Do take though. Piste is right (as usual!)

Gettin - I'm glad you're DS is more settled. Whose idea was the ukelele session? Do tell us how it goes.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/01/2011 22:51

Hope dd settles well tomorrow at nursery

I'm seeing a lady about sleep training her 7mth son - he's awake most of the night screaming or drinking milk - so very bad habits - hopefully I can help her :)

Hot choc = 1p but Gawd knows what on ww PP

My Monster munch are 3pp

RatherBeOnThePiste · 06/01/2011 07:56

Blondes - I have an 11 year old unable to sleep at the moment! Still up at 3 last night, just unable to go to sleep. Having said that, it is often like this during the Christmas holidays. They go back on Monday then he will be exhausted again. I got to listen to some of the Ashes in the middle of the night!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/01/2011 08:11

That's the problem being flexible in holidays and allowing children to stay up later - it buggers them when school starts

I'm the same - been going to bed 1/2am after watching tv in bed and Tuesday night went to bed at midnight and just lay there for 90mims as brain wouldn't sleep

A few early mornings will sort it out. Wake up early even if tired and guarantee they will be in bed normal time the next night or two

Mr blondes is moaning as pissing down here - I've reminded him that he can work in the rain and get paid UNLIKE the snow

I've kicked him out of bed and told him to go and earn money

I'm such a horrible dw Grin

GettinTrimmer · 06/01/2011 08:22

Yes, ds was downstairs at 10pm last night a bit upset as he couldn't sleep even though he's tired. Not asleep till 11.

You must be knackered Piste, you too Blondes.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 06/01/2011 08:25

It's so nice when you feel you can stay up later though. I love going to bed later and not worrying about being knackered!!

DS also doesn't like DH being away and ones like this after christmas or a family holiday when he's had lots of time are particularly difficult for us all but he feels it keenly. Anyway, have a good day. I'm off on my bike in the same rain as you have Mrs B. Am still zoning!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/01/2011 10:11

piste is in the pissing rain {grin}

my mb is --mean- sane as she doesnt allow the kids to go to bed much later in holidays - maybe 30mins if been good/lucky

i was bs the other month and work phone rang at 10am and i answered it and was no 1 school friend 7yrs asking to speak to her Shock

i said she was in bed and had been since 7.30pm

GettinTrimmer · 06/01/2011 12:57

Shock How old blondes?

I follow a relaxing bedtime routine, no tv/computer before bed and ds still not asleep until far too late. Blondes, do you know any relaxing techniques he can try to get to sleep? He doesn't like counting sheep.

bucketing down here.

Weighing in tomorrow - I hope to have lost half a pound Hmm mince pies still hanging around but the last one has gone.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 06/01/2011 13:38

It did bloody piss with rain!

DS aged 11 normally goes to bed at 8.30, DD at 13 goes 9/9.30. DS is only allowed to play xbox Fridays - Sundays. I have to say that has been a fab rule ( I was recommended this) and actually now he is at senior school there is v little time for anything other than HW if which he gets about 90 mins a night, sometimes more and the earliest he is home is 4.45pm.

I got him up at the normal time so hopefully he will crash later. Part of the prob last night was there were amorous foxes in the garden and they were noisy andit sounds like they are being murdered!

bebejones · 06/01/2011 15:12

I am back!! :o

Cirque du Soleil was THE most amazing thing I have ever ever seen! Loved it!! Plus coz it was the premiere we got to do some celeb spotting on the red carpet as they were all getting papped! :o Saw Kara and Artem! They look so cute together :) Saw Brendan Cole & his wife. Chantelle (from BigBrother Hmm) and Rav Wilding & also saw Carol Vorderman, Jeremy Clarkson & Katherine Jenkins!!

Glad everyone is 'in the zone'. Was determined to get back to it and have arrived home to 10 boxes (a years supply) of sweets that I won, and had forgotten about! HELP!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/01/2011 15:23

glad you loved bebe :)

new wwpp has arrived - will study and start tomorrow :)

GettinTrimmer · 06/01/2011 16:14

Grin 10 boxes?

Glad you enjoyed your show Bebe. How was dd?

Good luck with new wwpp Blondes

On the school run I saw a fox standing in someone's front garden in my road, bold as brass, it just stood and stared at me, I wasn't far away from it. I saw a tv programme a while ago that said some are pretty tame these days..

bebejones · 06/01/2011 16:25

Good Luck with the new points Blondes!

Meant to say about show, we were sat on the 2nd row & could practically touch the 'stage', when they swung out on the rings they were right over our heads & we could feel the breeze as they rushed past! It was incredible! DD was very good for MIL. Was a handful for DH at bedtime I think (still a bit unsettled by the new bed)! Also a bit of a nightmare today while he was trying to work!

I shall try & take a pic of sweetie mountain & put it on my profile! Just don't know what to do with it all!

Foxes are a pest round here, joys of being fairly rural. Although I guess it doesn't matter where you live these days. DHs mum had one walk right past her (in Bristol) when she was getting in her car one morning!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/01/2011 16:35

'blondes head explodes'

how on earth am i going to eat/cope with new ww pp :(

RatherBeOnThePiste · 06/01/2011 17:44

smokinaces · 06/01/2011 18:11

I have been bad. very bad. I crept back up to 12st 11, after pigging out big style.

But I'm back. I've got a new step machine. And a new motivation - 21lb loss by 24th March when I see the hospital consultant about my PCOS.

Am determined to do it. Have done 3 days very good now only another 11 weeks to go!!

so hi. promise not to be a stranger this time Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/01/2011 18:25

welcome back smokiaces :)

GettinTrimmer · 06/01/2011 19:07

Blondes - have you bought a special calculator for the new ww points? I used that wheel thingy and it's a tad complicated.

Good luck at the gym.

Sorry I deleted you from list smokinaces, add yourself again Smile

Welcome back Smokin! You definitely have a reason to be motivated, so stick with us, or I'll send Blondes to hunt you down!

GT the Couch to 5K thread is
here

Come on and give it a whirl!! I have just done the second run and it was ok, except at the moment I can only run in the dark because then I am invisible!

this is the app I am using on my iphone but there are loads you can put on an ipod. It just tells you when to run/walk/when you are half way.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 06/01/2011 19:55

Having said that Trim - you are a runner- have you been keeping it up since you did your big run last year? I am sure it would be easy for you to get back into the swing of it all Smile
