Here is the new thread for us to achieve success in Xmas Smile

Old thread is here

I'll change my name to my "Christmas" one after Saturday: I'm helping to organise the Scottish Mumsnet Christmas meet-up and it might confuse things if I change my name.

For anyone else who has a freezer full of soup & is running out of room (like me) I have found these going to be getting me some of those!! :o

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/01/2011 12:30

morning, well tech afternoon Grin

my decorations came down on the 1st - had enough of my bloody tree and wanted my living room back to normal

feeling positve today - im gonna lose a lb on friday

had oat so simple for breakie and making homemade pizza for lunch again - wonder what those will work out on new ww pp

bebejones · 04/01/2011 14:12

Just bought some of the covent garden root veg 'shape up' soup, 84 cals per portion! (Was on offer in Sains) :o Need to kick start the diet brain again!

Most of our decorations (tree etc) came down on the 1st too, just the outside lights left. But they are turned off, so that's ok right? Hmm Just they are all wet from melted snow now & don't really want to take them down like that! Confused

RatherBeOnThePiste · 04/01/2011 15:07

Yes definitely long haul lollypop! There is no such thing as a quick fix, and that is how everyone can cope with gains over Christmas, because we know it is just a blip! If you stay on this thread you will lose weight!

I am working again and there are a lot of treats around. I am not going to have any, because if I have one, I'll have two and I won't feel better for it.

Am on the homemade soups again.
And doing my first Couch25K as soon as it gets dark. DD offered to come but she is uber fit and I would be too embarrassed!

I am taking down our decorations by stealth as DC are loathed to see them go. They also don't go back to school until next Monday so they are just mid holiday really. I think 12th night is 6th so only a couple of days left anyway We have a big tree in our front garden which has lots of lights on so we actually leave them up all year round, just unplug them!

GettinTrimmer · 04/01/2011 15:56

I always miss the lights and decorations straight after christmas, they brightened everything up now it's dark so early.

Good luck with your run piste.

bebejones · 04/01/2011 16:08

Yes Good Luck Piste! Rather you than me, it's cold & wet here, I don't want to leave the comfort & warmth of my living room! Blush

DD is really winding me up today! Somehwere she has picked up the idea that food is 'yucky'! Hmm And today everything is 'yucky'! She has eaten 2 shreddies, yes only 2, a bite of mince pie (that I had Blush) and a Nairns Ginger biscuit. I was trying to not give her anything until dinner after she refused lunch, but she was wailing & throashing about screaming 'I'm hungry'! I did point out that she should have eaten her lunch & she said 'No mummy, it was yucky'! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrggghhh! TODDLERS!!! Oh well, tomorrow it will be stepMILs 'problem'! (And she will probably be angelic!)

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/01/2011 16:43

come on bebe, nanny blondes has told you what to do

your dd is being a fussy moo and you are allowing her

'blondes prods bebe through iphone'

if she doesnt want a meal then fine, but NO SNACKS - this includes ginger biscuits

an early tea or 1/2a banana

im back to work tomorrow for one day after having 2 weeks off - looking forward to seeing my ickle ankle biters Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 04/01/2011 17:23

Well I have done Week One, Run one of the C25K..

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Piste bows to tremendous applause from her standing ovation....

Actually it was ok, I have downloaded an app onto my iphone so it tells you when to run and walk, charts your progress, and plays music which you add in. I asked my two loving offspring to add music onto it that would be motivational and inspirational and this is what they added..
If you think it's familiar its because it was the theme to Benny Hill. Bloody cheek, although it did make me laugh!

Time for a piece of cake now... Only joking!

bebejones · 04/01/2011 18:25

Well it was an oat cake, offered a banana, 'yucky', offered her a rice cake 'yucky' Hmm It was for my sanity really. Blush Tried distracting her with playdough, a puzzle, and then a dvd but still she wailed! Hmm More wailing before dinner (sausage, mash & veg, I had soup) and she didn't touch it...well, she ate a little mash with a straw! Hmm Hmm I officially give up! MIL can deal with her 2moro!

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/01/2011 19:42

she will prob eat tomorrow as hungary - or mil feeds her crap sweet stuff?

having my heinz big soup steak and potato for tea - is soooooooooo yummy and really fills me up and all for 4wp tho gawd knows what it will be on ww pp

bebejones · 04/01/2011 20:00

I know MIL won't feed her crap, so no worries on that front! She's been so good lately (and had a growth spurt) that I really thought she was improving. Last couple of days have seen a steady decline with today being very trying! Hmm Oh well, she won't starve herself!

I love soup! :o Which is good really, coz I do need to stop grazing & munching on leftovers! Blush

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/01/2011 20:03

glad you have a decent mil :)

Murtette · 04/01/2011 21:30

Well done for going for a run, Piste.

I'm finding it very frustrating at the moment that I don't know and can't guess at the new WW points and can't work out yet how best to allocate them during the day. Breakfast was OatSo (6 "new" pts inc skimmed milk); lunch with a pitta with tuna and a load of salad; supper was cod in a tomato sauce with loads of veg, some new potatoes (not so good) and a lf yog for pudding as I wanted something sweet. I've eaten masses of fruit and also had half of DD's crumpet. I've just used the online tracker thing and think that I've used all of today's points but none of my bonus points but I'll put down that I used a couple of them as I think I'm more likely to underestimate amounts that overestimate.

Bebe - DD is driving me up the wall too. She either does bedtime heaven (asleep within seconds) or bedtime hell (screaming at full pitch for an hour) at the moment and I have no idea why. Blondes - any suggestions?

Gettin - how is your DS feeling about going back to school? How was last term for him?

LollipopViolet · 04/01/2011 23:01

Gah, went for lunch with a friend. Need to do superb amount of exercise tomorrow to combat pub lunch... still, slips are to be expected, and I hadn't seen this friend for ages so we had a good catch up Grin

laughalot · 05/01/2011 08:56

Slowly creeps onto the thread in the hope you will have me back Shock !!!

Ladies I really need to get back on it I have gone back up to 13 . 2 I felt so lovely last summer on my holidays and really want to try again. I need your inspiration bebe you have done fantastic.

Hope im ok to get back on it.

bebejones · 05/01/2011 09:14

Off to my mums & then to the big smoke in a bit! Cirque du Soleil here I come! :o

Welcome back laughalot! :)

GettinTrimmer · 05/01/2011 10:02

Laughalot!! Nice to see you again. ikwym about the weight creeping back on, although in my case over christmas it jumped back on!

I am aiming for a stone by easter. I'll have to count the weeks.

Murtette - you're doing well looking at your menu for yesterday. We will see some losses on Friday.

Thanks for asking about ds, he is so much happier now and had a few friends over to play during the holiday. We are also going to a ukulele lesson on Saturday together. I always think I am not musical but it's time to get out of my comfort zone and try something new!

I am going shopping today so plenty of bns etc will keep me on the straight and narrow.

GettinTrimmer · 05/01/2011 10:03

When do you start your job Murtette? Is child care all sorted?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/01/2011 11:17

Lovely Laughalot - welcome back!
I think for all of us the actual process of losing weight will not be the challenge. It will be learning how to maintain the loss. I know I will find it hard not to slip back into bad habits.

I am not stiff after my Couch to 5K efforts last night, but I have made minor alterations to my playlist. However I have kept the Benny Hill theme that DD added because it will always cheer me up!

Making carrot and Ginger soup today.

Good luck with the ukulele! One of DDs mates got one for Christmas. I was a bit surprisedby this but apparently this girl was desperate to learn!

laughalot · 05/01/2011 11:54

Thanks guys I hope you are all well I bet your looking very slinky. Are alot of you combining the weight loss with excercise ? I do walk alot to and from school everyday as I dont drive so im sure that helps alot but im thinking maybe I need to do more.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/01/2011 12:26

Come and do Couch to 5K with me laughalot?!

Im on a new thread, but definitely in the B team. There's lots of people on there returning to running and having their gaits assessed, but then there's a bunch of people like me who are complete novices. I know I did the comic relief run but
A) I did it with no technique or style
B) I was the colour of pomegranate juice
And
C) It nearly killed me!

laughalot · 05/01/2011 13:08

oooh may have to pop over and have a read Grin, by the way though I go bright red at zumba lol.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/01/2011 13:57

Blondes - I am soooooo in the zone, I will lose weight too by Friday.

(I hope!)

Good luck with the gym, hope you can manage it, because you used to talk about it a lot, and must be missing it.

My Christmas decorations are down, and everything looks a bit sad and empty now.

Fish and veggies for supper, and an early night I'm knackered

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/01/2011 18:03
