Here is the new thread for us to achieve success in Xmas Smile

Old thread is here

I'll change my name to my "Christmas" one after Saturday: I'm helping to organise the Scottish Mumsnet Christmas meet-up and it might confuse things if I change my name.

Had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much food at PILs Blush stepMIL had made food for the whole family but SILs family (6 of them) all have flu so didn't come! I don't think I actually need to eat for a week! Not that bad food wise, (jacket potatoes, lasagne, salad, as well as buffet stuff) but did eat alot, and had some trifle!

Will rid the house of anything bad tonight & start afresh tomorrow. This week is going to be tough, off to my mums on Weds so we can go & see Cirque du Soleil! Leaving DD overnight for the first time ever, I'm sure she will be running rings around the ILs and DH! :o

I agree - PBM, hope you are ok? Would be nice to hear from you if you are 'out there'!

bebejones · 03/01/2011 17:28

Piste - Good Luck! Wink

GettinTrimmer · 03/01/2011 17:33

Bebe - this will make you feel better. Went for a walk today and ended up in the pub. I had quiche, chips and salad. Then got home and had roses chocolates Blush

Hope you have a nice time. What's Cirque du Soleil about? I probably should have heard of it Hmm

We've missed you PBM if you're out there xx

GettinTrimmer · 03/01/2011 17:34

Good luck with new ww Blondes.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/01/2011 17:40

Letters done and posted or dropped off. Hooray!!

Fab cirque du soleil - you will be blown away by it!

bebejones · 03/01/2011 17:40

Trimmer - Cirque du Soleil are a acrobatic type circus. Watch the trailer here, will give you an idea. You have probably seen them without knowing what they were called!

bebejones · 03/01/2011 17:42

Was part of my prize so am taking Mummy Bebe! :o

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/01/2011 18:45

Where are you going to see CdeS Bebe?

bebejones · 03/01/2011 18:53

The Albert Hall, is not quite so far from my mums, so going up on the train which only takes 35mins if we get a fast one! Really looking forward to it! :)

Murtette · 03/01/2011 19:12

CDeS is fantastic. I haven't seen any of their recent shows but will definitely be taking DD to one in a few years.

I'm just writing my shopping list...what do I need in the cupboards & fridge? I can't think of any healthy recipes. I've got so used to opening them and just grazing on cheese, biscuits, mince pies etc that its going to take me a while to adjust to not snacking so I need some healthy snacks. Oh, its going to be dull being good again but I know that I will feel so much better.

Blondes - so are you going to be doing the pro points? I'm not sure whether to stick with WW or not as I won't be able to go to any meetings once I start work.

Bebe - how did DD's first night(s) in bed go?

LollipopViolet · 03/01/2011 19:13

Can I join??

I've got a thread of my own but want as much support as I can get (that, and I only just started the thread so no-one's on it yet).

Before I actively started to lose weight, I was 13 stone 1.
Now I'm 12 stone 4.
My goal is to be 9 stone, 8 if I can manage it and sustain it without it being horrible and restrictive.

How does this particular thread work? :)

GettinTrimmer · 03/01/2011 19:20

Welcome Lollipop Smile

We have a list, which I am about to trim as we haven't seen some members for a while. We weigh in once a week and update the list every week with losses (or gains, which has been the case last weigh in Blush.

Some of us are doing ww, some foodfocus and others healthy eating/as much exercise as possible.

Plenty of chat and moral support. We don't think in terms of quick fixes, Piste (when you meet her) always reminds us it's for the long haul.

I have just asked dh to hide the nuts and chocolates, not had a good day today.

That CduS looks great.

Good luck with new job Murtette. I will be seriously job hunting from tomorrow, I had my heart set on working in a school library, but jobs seem very few and far between.

I will be looking for admin type work but also thinking of voluntary work.

So you should feel proud lolly

That's 11 lbs of blubber you have lost :)

GettinTrimmer · 04/01/2011 10:20

Morning all Smile

Back to normal now. I am just contemplating taking the xmas decorations down Sad

How are you all today?

LollipopViolet · 04/01/2011 10:26

Morning!

I'm not too bad, just going to finish my last bit of filming for my current uni project. Fortunately I have my own camera as uni doesn't open to us til tomorrow. Then it's all hands to the pumps to finish all the film paperwork and presentation stuff! Aaaaaargh!

GettinTrimmer · 04/01/2011 10:46

That sounds more interesting than what I'm doing atm!

Well done btw on losing your 11lb.

LollipopViolet · 04/01/2011 10:57

Oh it's interesting, but it's STRESSFUL!

Only got til June left at uni then I have to go into the big wide world of employment. Eek!

And thanks :)

bebejones · 04/01/2011 11:08

I'm contemplating taking down the last of the decorations too! Unfortunately the only ones left are the ones outside on the porch & it's freezing & snowy & I don't want to do it! :(

Welcome lollipop! That does sound very interesting! I miss Uni, wish I could do it all again! Maybe when DD is older I shall do something else!
