Hope you feel better soon redder :( You can catch up when you feel better. rememeber what you said, This is for the long term.

nomorecake · 19/12/2010 12:19

very upset.
cant shred! only had 6 days to go.

pulled a muscle playing in the snow.

first thought was about shred!

Sad Sad Sad

nomorecake · 19/12/2010 12:21

errr, not playing, obvisiously i meant i was digging the car out of the snow.

sephrenia · 19/12/2010 15:37

Can I join too?

I've just got the DVD and it's eyeballing me from the corner of the room, daring me to try it and it's kind of scary to be honest.

I really want to do this though but I have real trouble with motivation so I thought I'd come here and ask you guys to give me the kicking I need because if I'm doing it as part of a group, I will be less likely to fail because I don't want to let anyone else down Grin

I'm going to start tomorrow in the hopes that by my birthday on Jan 15th, I won't resemble an orca!

Wish me luck :)

MickyLee · 19/12/2010 17:35

Couldn't shred today either :( DH hurt his wrist playing football last night and been at the hospital with him this morning (not broken thankfully) then we had a chrsitmas party this afternoon. THis evening DH really wants to relax watching tv and as we only have one and he is feeling sorry for himself, I have given in and decided to take the day off.

sephrenia Go for it. You will really get into it after the first few days and start seeing results. Measure yourself first, then after 3 days measure again and you will be suprised what you have lost.. it really is quite rapid for inch loss. I lost 3cm from my waist in the first 3 days without changing my diet at all.

MickyLee · 19/12/2010 19:47

I don't feel so bad now. Whilst watching a movie I grabbed my weights and did as many shred moves I could remember, as much as I could :) Still goimg to discount it as a shred day though

conquita · 20/12/2010 01:04

level one Day 5 done and dusted. It is strange how things I found easy to do at the start are now the hardest ones. I am at work and dieing to weight myself on the digital scales, but I mustn't. I only know I will be disheartened. I have been eating crisps and shite and know they have not helped. But I am still going to keep on track with the exercise.

Am still loving Killian. It always makes me smile when she comments on how unflexible she is.

Sorry you are ill Redder. I hope you start to feel well again soon. It is only a setback, you will be on track again soon. Just don't push yourself back into the exercise until you are ready. Don't feel guilty.

toobusytothink · 20/12/2010 10:04

Sephrenia - start it today!!! I started day before yesterday and did it 2 days in a row. It really doesn't take long at all and I swear my tummy is already flatter. Go on - you know you want to.

redderthanred · 20/12/2010 10:57

still ill. Couldnt even get out of bed yesterday. Got to work today, and they send me home after about 10 mins.

I feel( and look) like shit.

I wont be shredding today.

Am disapointed as i only had 4 days left to go, then it would have been every day for 30 days.

Mind you, ive not eaten for 2 days... so thats going to help the weight loss???!?!?!?!?

lol

im laughing but its not fuuny.

LostGirl · 20/12/2010 11:00

redder don't worry, this is real life, there will be times when you can't exercise for a variety of reasons, just wait until you're better and then jump back in, it in no way diminishes what you have achieved. A break can also do your body good, it will give your muscles a break and a chance to fully recover. Hope you feel better soon Smile

HeroShrew · 20/12/2010 11:15

there's a shred thread - hurrah! hello december shredding folks, can i join?

I started four days ago and despite not having done any cardio for about three years (gulp) I'm not finding it too horrendous.. am i crazy thinking that i can see a difference already? seraphina do it, lady!

i'm 5'7" and 11 stone 5 pounds. I was 10 stone pre pg. DS is 18mo so that's Not Good Enough really!

I was really struck by GM talking about the 'false message' of taking the stairs etc. i walk miles every day with DS in the buggy and it's made bugger all difference. 4 days of shrdding and i'm beginning to remember what my abs looked like

sympathy to all the ill and injured shredders. v frustrating when the mind is in the zone but the body won't comply.. lostgirl i reckon you're right about the muscle recovery thing..

sephrenia · 20/12/2010 11:19

I'm going to start it later today toobusytothink heh, I'm terrified but the DCs promised not to snigger at me when I do it and especially not when I wibble everywhere. DS said he'd try and do it with me to make me feel better but I said no because I don't want to kill an 8 year old no matter how many times a day I think it Wink

I'll come and report when I'm done :)

mothersmilk · 20/12/2010 13:10

day three done! couldnt shred yesterday due to a sickeness bug ds and i had (dh took dd out in the snow all day to stay away from the snotty sicky festering people) but got strate back into it today felt abit harder but i think that is due to yesterday. Its a really addictive dvd. I do feel bad though with dd off nursery now it does mean letting her just get on with it for 20 minutes shes happy to join in for a bit but does spend the rest of the time nagging me to get her stuff do stuff with her ect ect. it makes me feel like a bad mum Sad i wouldnt care the rest of the time she's miss indipendent and is quite happy playing with her toys or drawing independently its only when i want to do something that requires 100% odf my focus she starts i realise this is pretty normal behaviour im just thinking of the rest of the holidays. I also agree withlostgirl you'll feel great rederthanred once you've recovered and got back into it sometimes its just our bodies way of making us sit down and listen you've worked hard now have a little rest Smile

sephrenia · 20/12/2010 13:50

Day One in the Big Mother house.

In the bedroom, Sephrenia is spluttering softly to herself about how she is going to reach through the screen and throttle Jillian Michaels. In the Hallway, DD is sniggering at Sephrenia's discomfort while DS shouts through the door that she can't phone it in.

H comes into the bedroom and politely tells Sephrenia that he told her so. Sephrenia's reply has to be bleeped for legal reasons. H tells Sephrenia that she shouldn't try day two of Jillian Michael's DVD. Sephrenia glares and wishes him dead.

Stay tuned in for Day Two in the Big Mother house.

HeroShrew · 20/12/2010 14:29

a triumph against adversity, sephrenia. Your DSs comment did make me laugh. WTF is 'phoning it in' anyway?

I have to admit to calling JM a 'massive bastard' in my more out-of-puff moments.

Day five done. Poorly DS is asleep so had to jump my jacks on the shagpile rug to deaden the elephantine crashing around.

So who's planning to shred on christmas day? Xmas Grin

sephrenia · 20/12/2010 15:03

I wish that phoning it in meant I was getting a takeaway but sadly, I doubt that's going to happen Sad

sephrenia · 20/12/2010 15:08

Ooooh H (who used to be a coach) says that phoning it in used to mean that you were phoning the gym to cancel your appointment/avoid training that day. That's where the term comes from Grin

Go H for useless trivia!

toobusytothink · 20/12/2010 19:36

Well done Sephrenia. Day 3, level 1. Kids in bed by 7:05 and finished work out by 7:30 in time for Corrie. Think I can cope with that.

nomorecake · 20/12/2010 22:54

still cant shred. injured.

to make matters worse, i accidentally fell on a chocolate bar, consuming half of it in the process. accidentally. of course.

notyummy · 21/12/2010 08:30

Did levels 2 and 3 together with DH yesterday. Was hard! Well done all those doing it everyday. Am off to the gym in a hour, and plan to go tomorrow as well.

redderthanred · 21/12/2010 08:44

still ill.
Have spent two days in bed unable to move and am bored and pissed off.

I am, however, out of bed this morning. Woohooo!!!

AND plan on trying to eat something today. Hopefully.

Maybe, if im really lukcy ill be able to shred tomorrow evening.

susall · 21/12/2010 10:06

Right as much as I dislike Killian (love that name!!!) I have taken the plunge and bought the DVD after reading this thread (yes the whole thing) and am just waiting for it to be delivered.
I have 3 kids, a 9 yo ds and 4 yo ds/dd twins, and like most mums get very little time to myself, I am lucky my oh is supportive and is always willing to vacate the livingroom to give me time to workout. The fact it is a full workout in 20 mins is by far a bonus and will be easy to fit in when the darlings are at school/nursery or in bed. I am a fan of EA Active and used the step on the More workouts for at least 30 mins (sometimes twice a day) befor my shoulder started bugging me and I got out of the habit, chocolate brownies did not help either.
I have had in the past when I excercise a very bad relationship with my scales as I could see a difference in my shape but the scales would be like 'nah nah nah nah you've done nowt' and off to the bar of chocolate I would go!!! So this time will be different as oh has hidden both the scales and the batteries in different places and as a lot of you have suggested I will measure myself just before I start and I will post my progress for all to see.
Now I get that the workouts are hard but if by some miricle I got to the end and felt ok and wanted to do it a second time, to speed things up a bit, would I hurt the same the next day our doubley so? I really need a major kick start and as nice as it would be to lose weight I would settle for my clothes fitting better!!!

LostInTheSnowAgain · 21/12/2010 10:15

Done two days of level one (started without weights on day one to ease myself in!) Can feel all sorts of muscles I had forgotten about! DH was making 'helpful' comments from the couch last night so after telling him to eff off I've told him he has to shred tonight so he appreciates my efforts! He he he!

MickyLee · 21/12/2010 11:43

Day 27 done with :)

Yesterday was a bad day for me though. I had to go into the city to buy new visas. We were there the full day so one couldn't shred and two I ate crap all day, including pizza and 2 full sugar cokes!! hardly any water either.

Back on track now though and will finish the 30 days on christmas eve! Planning 2 days off for christmas day and boxing day, then hopefully my new dvd should have arrived for the next step of my 'get fit' programme.

susall · 21/12/2010 14:22

Right DVD has arrived and I have watched level 1 and must say that there is nothing in it that I have not covered in either EA Active, Davina or my pilates DVD so I am just waiting for my oh to get home and then if I can find the remote for the telly in our room I'm gonna give it a go.
